Nickname: Robbie
Age:

Gender:
Male
Species:
Human
Planet of Origin:
Earth
Occupation:
Geologist, Paleontologist
Face Claim:
Dr. Iain Stewart
Physical Description:
Standing at 5 feet and 9 inches tall, Gary is well built for a man his age, mostly because of how rigorous his work can be during trips to certain parts of the globe, although there are times that he does easily become exhausted. He has hazelish - Blue eyes. His originally dark hair is turning to a platinum grey in color, that he keeps spiked up to look younger than what he really is. Which is one of his ways to appear younger. He is often seen walking around in a couple of layers consisting of a white t-shirt, with a blue button up shirt on top. Tanish brown khaki pants, white ankle high socks and blue hiking boots. When he is on the road he has a rock hammer attached to his belt and has a army green backpack that is full of equipment and sometimes specimens that he comes across on the trail or from a Geological Research Site.
Personality:
Gary Stewart is an easy going fellow, it is rather hard for anyone to get him angry. He is very passionate about his field, which can be found out by anyone who attends one of his lectures in London University or other universities he tends to lecture at. He often questions why no one listens to a Geologist when there is a clear warning that something is about to happen, like when the volcano erupted when Geologist and Volcanologists were warning people for an entire week; but accepted the fact that people just do not like to hear about bad things that are to happen. There are times when he will become frustrated, but usually he will not say he is frustrated, just show it in his facial expressions. Usually he will become frustrated when he knows that there is an answer to something right in front of him that he just cannot find.
If there was something stronger than his passion for Geology, it would be his feelings for his family. He is very secretive about his personal life, about his family and will refuse to answer questions about anything relating to his family if he feels the questions are becoming too personal. As well as he is protective of his family, and does everything he can to make sure they have what they need and will take dramatic measures to make sure they are safe, especially since one of the twins has a medical condition.
When teaching at a university he has the habit of disinfecting everything in the classroom before each and every class that he teaches. He also keeps his cell phone on and fully charged at all times, as well as carrying an extra inhaler and other things on him and in his backpack that he carries back and forth when he is not in the field.
Enjoys Rock Climbing, Ice Climbing, Scuba Diving, and hiking. As well as taking his two youngest children to the park, camping, fishing, as well as walking them to school.
History:
Since Stewart was a young lad, his father would always tell him stories about the Eternal Flames from Turkey as well as other legends from around the world before Gary would go to bed. At the age of eight while on a family trip to Oregon he found several pieces of obsidian that he took back to their home in Scotland. Two years later, at the age of ten his father died of a heart attack, something that Gary would never really recover from.
Addition Medical Information:
Gary has no major illnesses or injuries.
RP Sample:
Gary could not help but look around at the scenery as he hiked up the trail, it was almost nightfall and really was hoping to reach this special location that his father would tell him stories about before he died when Gary was only ten years old.
The story was really a legend about the Eternal Flames. Yes it was a natural phenomena but it was the legend that the ancients came up with. It stated that if you found the flames that you were close to the Mount Olympus.. or The Realm of The Gods. The Geologist has always been fascinated with that story and even has been telling it to his three children before they went to bed as his own father did before he went to bed when he was a wee laddie.
The man came to a stop for a few moments to take a drink of water from his large bottle. He was not just going to be visiting the flames in one spot. There is a whole trail of them. One of the spots can be still seen high in the sky.. and he wanted to see them. It was partially because he wanted to see if the legends were true, that the flames brought the follower closer to The Realm of The Gods.
Having quenched his thirst, Gary stuffed the bottle back into a pocket and secured it in place before pushing on up the trail. It was just a couple minutes later that he had to bring his head light out so that he could see the trail ahead of him. But just ahead he could see the first of the flames.
His heart pounded harder as he got closer, his excitement growing as the flames seemed to get bigger as he got closer. As though they were luring him into getting closer. Then he was finally there, the man dropped his backpack to the ground below and turned his headlight off as he kneeled down to get a better look of the flames, "The Eternal Flames.. to finally see them." Gary got a little closer to the flames in front of him, placing his hand a little closer, laughing as he felt the heat of the flames, " This is amazing.." The man retracted his hand from the flames as they seemed to jump up.
