Peri sat at one of the many cafe's situated around Paris, sipping the best coffee she had ever had. She set down her cup, and leaned back in her chair with a relaxed sigh. The Doctor had promised to take her on a relaxing vacation, but she hadn't actually expected him to do it. Let alone take her to Paris, the most beautiful city in the world. They had been here two days, in those two days she had gone shopping, and had gotten this really cute pink sundress with a purple belt around it (Which she was wearing now), and pink pumps to match. The Doctor had made some comment on looking like a living piece of cotton candy. But she didn't care, she was in the leading fashion capital of the world! Why shouldn't she look nice for once?
She looked around the small piazza. The Doctor was off exploring one of the art museums and wouldn't be back for at least another six hours, which left Peri with a lot of free time. The only problem was, she had nothing to do. She had already visited the Eiffel tower at least four times, she didn't really want to go shopping again (One can only take so much), and she had already walked through all the parks in Paris. She picked up her coffee again, taking a slow sip. Paris sure was pretty, but it's absolutely boring when your on your own. She thought of going to the art museum to find the Doctor, but he'd probably give her a lecture on every painting, sculpture, and even the architecture. She had had enough of those to last her a lifetime. She set her coffee back down, letting out a bored and lonely sigh. "Who knew Pairs was so boring."
When had been the last time he had actually been in Paris? The French Revolution atleast right? Yeah that sounded about righ…..wait no World War 2, THAT had been it. Geesh White was starting to realize that this whole time traveling thing was starting to get him. Walking down the streets of a city he had last seen filled with people celebrating the liberation of their country seemed strange with its new kind of décor and pomp. It was a place of fashion and allure, just had it been back then, wait…this wasn’t the twenty-first century….o for the love of…
White looked around the street he had found himself walking down, searching for someone, ANYONE who could tell him WHEN he was. Most people wouldn’t exactly be able to pick him out of a crowed as being non human these days. He had shed the White trench coat for his love for leather jackets and cargo pants. This time they didn’t house gun holsters, which was a deffinate nice change. Thing was though, as he looked around he found that he might not be able to be picked out of a group of people but the pretty in pink sitting at a café….WOW. She seemed….not out of place, but deffinatly showier then the others around them. So in his mind he was like ‘hell why not?’
“Hey there, you don’t seem from around here.” The words were kind as he approached the woman in pink the area between them slowly only being separated by a rot iron fence that was kind of normal for paris….in any time period…right? O for the love of……
Peri looked up from her drink, to look at the man standing in front of her. She quickly looked him up and down, just to make sure he didn't mean any harm. Sure his tone was kind, but in her experience that usually didn't mean anything. He didn't look like someone who would hurt her.. he definitely had style. "I'm not, just visiting." She smiled lightly at him. She still needed to be weary just in case he wasn't all that good..
"Would you like to join me?" She pulled out the chair opposite her with her foot, gesturing for him to sit down. She had plenty of free time left anyway, and she didn't want to spend it alone drinking coffee.
White was more than willing to take the seat, hell why not? She seemed friendly enough and if she knew what time he seemed to have fallen in then all the better. He rose a hand towards a waiter and ordered a hot chocolate in fluent French before turning to his new friend and smiling.
“Is that a lovely British accent I detect?” It did seem like he was swirling around the UK a lot lately with some of his newer travels. The UK seemed to be as entrenched in how the world worked in recent history as Rome had been in the times of the ancients. What was about those small Island or out of the way places that seemed to breed Empires? The Romans were freaking refugees turned raiders. The Greeks were fire worshipers and snake eaters, Egyptians were Bedouins…..and the British were Tribals. No matter where or when human empires rose it never ceased to amaze White and his intrigue in human endeavors.
White admired the woman from his seat, his eyes fixed on hers and not waivering like most would when it came to such an attractive woman. He had spent to much time with his former wife to know that the one thing you could do to screw up a possible friendship with a woman would be to let your eyes trail to places that they shouldn’t. No, instead he waited and listened to see what she would have to say. He was, in fact an attractive male who knew more then most what it took to attract a woman, hell he probably was the best at these kind of things. A part of Rebel that never left him.
Of course, to Peri, he sounded British no matter what language he spoke. For some reason the TARDIS only translated languages with a British accent. It must of had something to do with the Doctors love for Britain. She had to admit, it did make everything a little fancy. "American actually." She sipped her coffee, while eyeing him suspiciously. Maybe he'd never heard an American before? Or he was a local. That would make sense, not a lot of Americans come to France, and to everyone else she would probably be speaking French. Probably. She was still a little confused on how the TARDIS worked..
"So... are you visiting too? Or do you live here?" She didn't see why she shouldn't start a pleasant conversation. She had nothing else to do, and she was a little curious about him. He seemed different from the others, and not because of his clothes. Even if it did seem a little... out there.
