Owen sighed as he drove toward the hospital for yet another victim that had fallen ill to this new influenza strand. While normally he'd complain for being put on such a trivial job that took away from his pub time, this time however he felt he wanted to do this. He felt happy to be doing doctor work in the medical field. He was growing weary of carving corpses. So as he walked into the hospital he donned a mask and headed to the newest victims room.
The man's neck was covered in the same odd crusty surface that covered the skin, but always only the neck. His eyes were sort of cloudy, and his mouth looked to dry for him to be living. Yet his heart beat and he was breathing. His skin was so hot it was red, and his fists were clenched as if he was in a struggle, which he was. Owen scanned this man and got the same readings he'd been able to get the last few times and took notes. Whatever was doing this was clearly an alien but he didn't know what kind of aliens. He finished his observations and found nothing new. He'd now go inspect the location the victim had been found and picked up from, maybe he'd find a sign of struggle.
When he got to the location where the struggle had been found he looked at the darkened parking lot and sighed. "Typical, it just had to be the creepy dark parking lot." He sighed and got out of the car, as he wandered the lot he continued his scans and looked for signs of struggle, or signs that would point towards what would do this.
Vlad was piloting his Tardis through the city at a rather high altitude. he was trying to find a place to land until it landed in a dark parking lot. opening the door he looked out and saw it was empty and he was under a street light. subtlety was not his forte today aparently. so as he moved out and closed the door he didnt notice that he may have been watched. meanwhile inside the Tardis a few readings were coming off of the area. THasey were alien in origin and were coming out as one specific organism that the tardis didn't recognize at first. so as it moved to hide from the sight Vlad walked around the parking lot his hood up and his hands in his pocket. his face shadowed slightly if anyone were to notice him it would look as if he was up to no good.
Owen watched as the man wandered into the lot. He became instantly suspicious and began to track the man. He reached into his belt holster and got his pistol, with an audible click he readied it and removed the safety. "Alright buddy, What are you doing here and why are you infecting everyone who lives here. You have five minutes to convince me not to shoot you," Owen wasn't joking around, he didn't like hurting people but if this guy was hurting people he would retaliate for them. If this was the man who was causing the disease then Owen would remove a threat.
As vlad heard the click he mumbled fuck. So he slowly turned around to see what looked to be a doctor of some sort. But infecting people he just got here. What could. He have done in such short a time. So as he looked at the man he said "I just got here do I look like I have any idea what the hell your talking about prick. Now lower your weapon and lets talk like civilized beings for a bit" he truly wasn't agitated just a bit annoyed.

Owen blinked in shock at the man’s reaction. He had expected a hostile response, that was to be expected, but it was clear the man had no idea what was going on. He lowered and holstered his gun and raised his hands showing that he was unarmed now. “Forgive me, you must understand I am in charge of protecting my planet and right now it is being threatened. You must understand I was only doing what I can to protect my home.” He stepped forward slowly keeping his arms raised in a non-threatening manner. “I am Doctor Owen Harper, what is your name and where are you from?” He kept his voice placating, he knew when it was a good time to be a prick and a good time to be professional. Even he knew now was not the time to provoke, now was the time to keep a level head and manner.
“Forgive me, you must understand I am in charge of protecting my planet and right now it is being threatened. You must understand I was only doing what I can to protect my home. I am Doctor Owen Harper, what is your name and where are you from?” Glad watched the man not sure if he can trust him. As he waited a minute he sighed and waved his hands in a dismissing fashion. "Put your hands down. And I understand my name is The Rogue to most my other name is not used often here anyway. Now what are you talking about with this infection surely a little cold cant be that much of a problem can it?" He raised an eyebrow after lowering his hood to reveal his face which looks like he hadn't shaven in a good little bit. And a small bit of a tattoo was showing on his neck.
"Put your hands down. And I understand my name is The Rogue to most my other name is not used often here anyway. Now what are you talking about with this infection surely a little cold cant be that much of a problem can it?”
Owen put his arms down and frowned at the man a bit as he lowered his hood. Such an odd name, well title really, this man was definitely an alien. He looked away at the question and regathered his wits. “It is not a cold, it is not like any disease I have ever seen. The people show signs of the flu, then they die a most horrid death. Whatever they are infected with, it is clearly an off world pathogen.” He frowned at the man and started to pace agitatedly. "They die before I can really do anything for them.” He sighed and growled.
“Leave it to Torchwood to give me an assignment that breaks my spirit even more. I can’t even save these people! What kind of doctor am I?” He stopped and looked at this man. “You just arrived here right?” Do you think you can help me out?” He frowned and kept at pacing. “Any help really, even identifying the illness if you can will help.” He hated asking for help but what choice did he have if this man could help him then he needed to take the help.

I dont have much else to do. But first let me know where the hell am I? and as for the diesese explain the symptoms and any odd behaviour in each case along with similarities in the peoples personality or appearences. maybe this is a form of mass murder or targeted to one specific group like genocide..." he looked up and thought about all the possibilities. if it is alien in origin it could be parasitic or a side effect of some experiment done in the area. there are so many posibilities that he didnt notice the tiny eyes watching from afar.

Owen looked up at the man and turned to him. “You are on the planet Earth in the Twenty-First century.” He sighed and began to pace again. He described every symptom he could remember and tried to remember similarities. He looked over at the man and began to recite off common symptoms. “The all have high fevers, dry mouth, and a weird crusty skin.” He nodded and looked pensive. “That’s normally the sign they will be dying soon.” He kicked a can at the wall in anger. “By the time we can identify the illness it is too late to save the victim.” He sighed and tried to maintain a strictly professional manner as he spoke.
"Earth twenty first century...any specific year i keep hearing this century is awesome around the end of the century." So off he went in his mind on the possibilities that could happen. his mind filled with rumors of this time and city. but as he mused about his location a small little imp stood in the shadows slowly approaching what it thought would be its next victim sensing the intelligence of the person in its area. the little imp was around 3 foot tall green in skin tone and wore a red vest that was tattered and for pants it had fur. the fur was a sickly dark green. its ears were long and stiff in appearance. and as it moved its feet were softly making a pitter-patter as lightly that it almost wasn't audible. and that's when Vlad decided to talk again."ok lets see these patients and their records maybe their are similarities you missed because they seemed inconsequential." He yawned and scratched his head as he came to that assessment. but he'd need an address to take his tardis with him or a way to call it nearby so it would be convenient.
"Earth twenty first century...any specific year i keep hearing this century is awesome around the end of the century."
Owen smiled at the man and tilted his head. “It is the year 2007.” He leaned against the van not seeing anything off with his surroundings. Well besides the obvious dark parking lot with an alien he didn’t know scene that most people scream at you to not go into. However he was Owen Harper, and he had a gun. So he felt calm and collected now he knew this man wouldn’t hurt him, well he hoped he wouldn’t anyway. “Well this is the beginning of the century but we are still awesome, namely because I’m here.” He flashed a grin at the man.
"ok lets see these patients and their records maybe their are similarities you missed because they seemed inconsequential.”
He pushed off the car and nodded to him. “Perhaps. Come on we can take my car. Unless you have a ship hidden somewhere that is quicker than my method.” He looked at the man while beginning to walk towards his car. “Your choice mate."
"Give me the address and ill go in The Tardis. It should get me there without much difficulty. So let me see those symptoms sound familiar though. ill check the tardis databanks as i try and get there shouldn't be too long to find out what could be the cause." Meanwhile in the hospital the last victim died as the imp swiftly moved to its location to claim its newest host. hopefully this one was stronger was its only thought was to take its new body and start on its way home. as it gathered speed its slight psychic energy caused it to disappear from existence and alongside the hospital. this little creature could teleport but it was vastly inaccurate considering it barely made it there and it was more then 400 meters from the victim. so it started its trek to its victim. Vlad looked at the doctor across from him before walking to where his tardis was. it was fortunately cloaked like a car so no questions would be asked. it seemed the tardis liked blending in. odd how it worked when it wanted to was Vlad's only thought
Owen stared at the man next to him like he was insane. He'd never heard of anything called a TARDIS before. He shrugged his shoulders and got in his car. He'd already established the bloke wasn't human, but he was beginning to wonder if he was also insane. As he worked his way back to the hospital he got the message that the latest patient had died and a sad sigh escaped his lips. He had tried so hard to keep the man alive, and now he found out that the victim was dead. He was not having a good day, well it had started as good but now it was no so good. He pressed a button and let the crude music fill the car and relax him. Very soon he pulled up to the hospital and made his way towards the morgue to begin checking the body.
