The room Rose Tyler was being held captive in was pitch-black, so dark she couldn't see her hand in front of her face. Granted, she'd only been in there for six or seven minutes, but despite that the wounds were already beginning to hurt, the handcuffs keeping her there were already starting to rub her wrists raw and the fear that this time the Doctor wasn't going to come in time was slowly creeping in. Thirty minutes ago, she'd been taken hostage by another one of the Doctor's enemies. She loved the man, she truly did, but he sure had a lot of enemies. It surprised her that it had taken one of them this long to figure out that maybe she was the key to getting to him. They'd pulled out all the stops, and due to their confidence in the matter, Rose Tyler found herself sporting fast-darkening bruises, smashed up pride and quite a few bleeding cuts and gashes, some of which she was actually quite worried about. Especially the big one in her side where they'd shot her. Oh, she was going to kill the Doctor. Especially if he didn't get there soon.
The Doctor was most certainly not in a good mood. Especially not after what he saw.
She wasn't suppose to be there, in a dark room, and injuries all over her body. She was suppose to be at home, safe with her obnoxious mother. He should've figured. He should've known.
He couldn't help thinking that, as he used his sonic screwdriver to help get a fix on the frequency of their teleport device. There was full silence as he quickly hooked up what seemed to be a jeopardy buzzer button, to the teleport wires.
The Doctor put his sonic back into the inside pocket of his brown and blue pinstriped suit. He was getting her back, before it was too late. Pressing the little red button, and suddenly he was in the teleport chambers within the Banshee's ship.
Her world was beginning to go fuzzy around the edges when he showed up. She'd never been so happy to see him.
"Doctor!" she gasped, hint of happiness in her voice at his arrival. "Thank god you're here."
The blood she'd lost from the bullet would had begun to pool in small puddles by her feet, and she was feeling drowsy from blood loss. Something in the back of her mind told her to keep her eyes open, not to fall asleep, wait for her Doctor, and now here he was.
She was starting to feel a bit cold now, skin pale and eyes half-lidded as she attempted to remain conscious. She could tell without looking at his face that this was bad, but somehow she couldn't be scared, not with the idea of sleep being so inviting...
"Rose!" He nearly shouted, as he ran over to her. Carefully placing the palms of his hands on her cheeks. "Stay with me Rose. Don't close your eyes."
The Doctor was extremely worried by now, as he took out his sonic screwdriver and used it on her handcuffs. Considering the amount of blood she lost, he had to get her out of there fast. So putting away his screwdriver, he carefully picked her up bridal style, and brought her back to the transporter room.
First thing to do was put Rose in the zero room, the next thing, would be to deal with the ones responsible.
The Doctor managed to press the red button that allowed him to teleport them both back into his TARDIS. Making his way carefully to the Zero Room, and placing Rose on the examination bed/table.
"Everything will be alright Rose, just stay with me." He pleaded softly, as he ran his fingers through her hair.
Rose could hear the worry in his voice as he told her not to close her eyes. It was a fight, but she knew he was correct. She forgot about her captors, and concentrated on keeping her eyes open. It helped to keep her eyes on him, her wonderful Doctor. She'd never admitted it to him before, but he was oh so easy on the eyes. She loved how he took care of her, loved how he held her hand when they ran or explored, a small thing he probably didn't think anything of, but sent shivers up her spine.
As he releases her handcuffs, she began to slip a small bit down the angled table, but he had her in his arms in an instant. She breathed him in, and it was comforting, the way he smelled so good.
She felt frightened every time her eyes blinked shut, and suddenly, he'd set her down on a table. He was begging her to stay with him, and she wanted to, she really did. "'m tryin'," she murmured, feeling so cold.
He didn't have to wait long before the Zero Room to work it's, technically speaking, magic on her. It only took a few seconds for it to revert to Human DNA, in order to repair the damage, and stabilize her condition.
He sighed in relief as it showed the results, she would be okay. As long as she got some rest.
"It's alright now..." The Doctor muttered, still gently stroking her forehead, as a parent would do for their small child, who had a fever. "Everything will be alright."
He was going to wait until she was unconscious, and as soon as Rose drifted off into sleep, he was going to make sure this didn't ever happen again. Started with those responsible.
As soon as he gave that sigh of relief, she wanted to go to sleep. But he was worried, and she'd stay up as long as she had to in order to make sure he was okay.
"'m okay," she murmured, as he held her hand close. "You got me."
She wouldn't admit how scared she had been, how for a few moments shed thought he wouldn't come.
