Plot for interactions with Ten ~

@iiwasbrilliant Do you have any preferences on when/where for them to meet and thread? I've generally assumed they never spoke on the Valiant (not necessarily for lack of trying on either of their parts) but I'm not opposed to actually having a thread then. I'm equally unopposed to - sometime after she has her little showdown turn friendshipesque thing with Eight running into Ten again.

And when one travels with the Doctor, he doesn't always leave you where intended, so we could do this anywhere, up against any sort of menace.

Nyssa && Ten aka The Last Daughter of Traken and Last of the Time Lords

Soooo you don't know it yet, but these two are a match made in heaven. Nyssa and the Doctor first met when she was a young girl, probably between 15-18, when he was in his Fourth incarnation. Then the Master stole her father's body and ran off. There was a whole thing. The Watcher - a sort of in between version of Four to Five - SPECIFICALLY GOES TO BRING NYSSA to the Doctor so she's there when he regenerates.

This is when I should explain that Nyssa is from the Traken Union. It was a union of some.. less than 20 planets, all brought together by 'just being incredibly kind to one another'. It's basically an imperialistic sort of utopia drawn together by something called The Source which is so powerful that when evil enters the Traken Union, it's drawn to a particular Grove on the main planet and sediments into stone. ((Three guesses where the Master landed.)) These statues are called Melkur (which is a word meaning pure evil, basically. It's opposite is Selkur, someone who is wholly good.)

The Source is relevant because 1) it's what actually keeps the whole union together. They're a group of empaths and it literally radiates good feelings and basically encourages everyone to be nice 2) the Keeper of Traken has control of the Source and can regulate weather, freaking teleport wherever, has infinite power tbh such a shame that it gets destroyed. Nyssa's father (and her step mother, for that matter) are both consuls, which basically makes her nobility on Traken. Although it's implied that anyone with sufficient reception for the Source can become a consul. It requires both telepathic and empathic ability, I think?? Nyssa is an empath with latent telepathic powers that were mostly removed for her own good because, plot twist, since she grew up on traken evil feelings and whatnot actually make her physically ill and can kill her. WHOOPS.

ALL THAT EXTRA EXPOSITION TO SAY

First trip OFF of Traken, she finds out that the Master is possessing her father. More than that, the Master (accidentally even!!) completely destroys a large swath of the universe including Mettula Orinsis aka her home galaxy.

What I'm saying is, Nyssa is the last of her kind. People from Traken didn't leave the Union as a rule. There's a really sweet conversation between her and Five when she tells him she hopes he never has to know what it's like. And asks how she can possibly move on.

How can I grieve for a whole world? How can I ever move on? How can I honour their memory. What could I possibly do?

Nyssa travels with Five on screen for less than two years, but with the audios a looooong time. They even reunite fifty years after she parted ways. She's the (modest as;fkas;j) bioengineer behind the eradication of several plagues, and is just the most ridiculously compassionate person. She's a mix of Romana and Clara for Five. She's seen up to Eight, but to my knowledge hasn't actually directly interacted with the Doctor past Five yet. (Although she was telepathically involved in his regeneration and she maaay interact with Eight soon and is/will be definitely aware of the Time War.)

I have all the feelings about Nyssa meeting Ten? I mean, Five is his Doctor. Five was her Doctor. Last Daughter of Traken; Last of the Time Lords. Extremely clever and compassionate (she can be patient enough for both of them??).

fitz + ten

so, fitz was a companion of the eighth doctor. he hung around with eight until the middle of the time war and then eight took him back to earth (under the pretense of 'one last relaxing day', which in hindsight fitz really should have found Highly Suspicious). since being left behind, he's pretty much made his peace and has been playing music at various pubs and has his own flower shop now. he'd be super excited to know that the doctor is alive and doing well.

iblîs + ten

so iblis is kind of the worst creature on earth - feeds off anger and despair, has caused literal genocides, responsible for actual wars, and kidnaps the doctor's companions pretty constantly lmfao. it's trying to get the doctor's attention because it wants a favor - namely meddling in its own personal history to avoid a catastrophe - but "please" is apparently not in its vocab.

seb/nina + ten

sebastian is a fifteen year old violinist kid who is moderately well-known to people who pay attention to violinists. nina is the thirty-something year old djinn that possesses him and makes him responsible for multiple awful things, up to and not limited to murder. sebastian mostly wants to be normal and left alone, nina mostly wants mass destruction. idk how they'd mesh with the doctor, but if ten ever wants to try to stop an amoral homicidal creature and her sweet little human puppet, i'm totally game.

susan + ten

AYYYY GRANDFATHER. so susan kind of lowkey murdered the master and stole his TARDIS and ran off with it. she's a bit of a wreck of her husband and children die, but she'd still be excited to meet up with her grandfather. as for susan 2, she regenerated in not the best of circumstances, and the daleks wiped her timeline out during the war so she doesn't recall most things from her first life, and she holds a very negative (Very Negative, all caps, important) of the doctor. so maybe let's avoid susan 2 for now.
