The Nomad was running after a fish alien, "Why is it always the fish that give me problems?" He asked himself as he chased the fish into an open field, little did he know there was a river.
He tripped but got back up, he stopped when he heard a splash. Running over to the river he looked for any sign of the alien, "Great..." He said with frustration in his tone. Looking up he looked at the stars in the sky then looked back at the river. There was no point in waiting around, so he turned around and started walking away.
He got some ways down the street and decided to stop at a pub. Stepping inside he plopped down into a seat, running his hand through his hair he made a heavy sigh.
Looking to the waitress as she walked over, "Something that will ease my frustrations love." He said and looked away as the woman walked away to get his drink. With a sigh he laid his head in his hands, he was exhausted and feeling rather lonely.
The Time Lord reached into his pocket and put some cash on the table as the waitress set his drink in front of him, "Thank you.." he said with a small smile. The woman shyly smiled and walked away, after giving the Nomad his change. The Time Lord picked the drink up and took a long sip of the contents and set the glass down.
He was not expecting to run into anyone that he knew, glancing across the room he saw Aixa, thinking the Djinn was still upset looked back down at the glass in his hands.
Aixa was currently slumped over his table, muttering to his drink (a Sprite with a lemon, because Aixa had found out the hard way that Jinn can't have alcohol) about the current goings-on of his life. They were nothing too major, and truthfully they were rather boring. Most of his ramblings were, in fact, about his new mistress. The girl was spending time with her mother and other family and she had insisted - nay, ordered - that the djinn was not to follow her or make himself known. He'd tried to sway her with stories of kidnappers and public transportation, but her family was the one doing the transporting, so Aixa had sulkily agreed to stay out of sight while her family was there.
He could understand - after all, what would her mother have thought of him? A dashingly handsome and amazingly good-looking young man in her daughter's very small flat? The scandal! And although Aixa admitted that he and Pippa would have some pretty good looking children together, he held off for her mother's sake. He was just that kind of guy, you understand. Perfectly noble. A true gentleman, indeed. And anyway, he wasn't good with human interaction. He'd probably accidentally let it slip that Pippa was his mistress, and surely then images of leather, hand-cuffs and whips enter the poor woman's mind.
Pippa would disown him from the sheer embarrassment!
So he'd slipped out of the apartment, resigning himself to the fact he was going to have to be separated until Pippa willed him back.
The young djinn looked up from his drink, smelling someone familiar. He looked around, puzzled. He knew he knew the smell. Bewildered, he looked back at his drink. Feeling a pair of eyes on him, he looked up. The man was staring at him, and then looked back down with something the djinn recognized as guilt. And then, it clicked. Leo.
He stood and walked over to the Time Lord, sliding in the seat across from the man. "Still waiting on that storm to pass?" he asked, echoing the first conversation they had.

Leo looked up as Aixa slid into a chair across from him, "Aixa?" He looked out side and saw that it was starting to rain.. again, "I am now." He said with a small laugh. He looked to Aixa as he took a swig of his drink.
"I have really missed you Aixa." Either out of guilt, loneliness or because he was drunk, he reached over and held the Djinn's hand, "I regret regenerating.." He mumbled, "I lost a friend.. that I uh.. loved.."

Aixa grinned as well when the Nomad looked out the window and laughed. It was certainly a chance encounter. He took another sip of Sprite through his colorful bendy straw. He wanted to question Leo on the guilty look, but he decided not to push it. He realized he hadn’t been the happiest person in the world when Leo had regenerated and left him, but Aixa had gotten over it. After several long months.
Several months of agonizing boredom and monotony. But Pippa had saved him from that and she was far too scared of him to abandon him. So he didn’t feel quite as lonely anymore.
“I have really missed you Aixa.”
His cheeks flushed pink from the words, and the Djinn blushed an even darker shade when the Time Lord reached over and took his hands. He looked down, embarrassed. “Yeah… I… I, um…” Dammit, Aixa! he cursed internally. Where was the suave flirting genius that the Nomad had known?
“I regret regenerating,” the Nomad continued, and Aixa hazarded a look up at him with pale blue eyes. “I lost a friend… that I uh… loved.”
loved loved?
Aixa’s eyes widened and he swallowed thickly, his mind blank as to any responses whatsoever. The breath of the man implied intoxication. Aixa sighed, realizing the Nomad was probably drunk given the lady had given them their strongest drink.
“Don’t worry about it, Nommie,” Aixa replied with a friendly smile as his eyes trailed down to Leo’s hands. “We all regret some things in our life…”

The Nomad released Aixa's hands, and picked up his glass, chucking down the rest of his drink and slammed the glass down, it has been rough since his regeneration, nothing but fighting enemies and very little happy moments, in fact since his regeneration he has been traveling alone.
The Time Lord shook his head and put one of his hands to his head, "Why am I being such a wimp? Yeah I have been alone but I am better than this... Is this incarnation a wimp all of a sudden? Why can't I be my last one again?" He put his hand down and took a deep breath, "Sorry..." He said as he looked to the Djinn, "I must be drunk to be talking this way.."
"Sometimes I just wonder what it would be like to be something else.. like a human or something where I would not be so alone.. it has been so long since I have seen another Time Lord.. I do not even know if others survived the war Aixa.. What if I am the last one?" He asked, looking to the man across from him.
The woman walked over, "Want another love?"
"Why would I want another? They are just messing me up.. no I do not want another... Thank you." He said as he handed her the glass. Not caring if he said anything wrong, he was upset, and just wanted to take the edge off with something but that proved to have backfired, making the Time Lord more upset. The woman took the glass and walked off.
Aixa leaned farther away from the Nomad as he slammed the glass down on the table. Yeah, okay, so maybe Leo was a little different than what he remembered. He sipped again at his Sprite, a little hesitant. But Leo was Leo, and Leo wouldn’t hurt him. Right? He’d been one of the nicest owners he had had… which, given the circumstances surrounding, didn’t speak very much for humanity in general. But Aixa decided not to push this point forwards, because there was still the glass in his hand and Aixa didn’t have fast enough reflexes to dodge it if it came at his head.
“Why am I being such a wimp?” he demanded. Aixa lifted his shoulders in a shrug. He didn’t think Leo was being very wimpy at all – Aixa certainly couldn’t have handled all that alcohol and been able to have a coherent conversation. The last time he had drunk alcohol he’d been giggling and trying to get Pippa to celebrate his 1,244th birthday with a trip to Fiji and he was fairly certain he had proposed by way of jumping over a broom.
On second thought, it was no wonder Pippa didn’t want him to meet her family just yet.
“Yeah I have been alone but I am better than this… is this incarnation a wimp all of the sudden? Why can’t I be my last one again? Sorry… I must be drunk to be talking this way…”
“Leo… loneliness doesn’t make you a wimp,” he informed his former master, placing a hand on Leo’s cheek and pushing his lips up into a smile. “You don’t have to apologize for anything, you know. I’m your friend.”
“What if I am the last one?”
Aixa frowned, and shook his head slowly. “I don’t know, Leo. But I do know what loneliness feels like,” he said, frowning. “But I’ve heard it said that when something seems like everything is going wrong, life is setting you up for niceness,” he said, ever the eternal optimist. He grinned and ruffled Leo’s hair.

Leo felt a little teary eyed, he took the Djinn's hand and held it in place for a moment, "Thank you Aixa.." He wondered if the Djinn was still upset about the Time Lord regenerating. Like he had a choice, if he was going to save his friend and the citizens of the planet, he had to. Then he wondered if the Djinn would like one more trip.. but probably the Djinn will not want too. He released Aixa's hand.
The Nomad looked at Aixa, yeah he was treating him like a kid again, not that he minded it, he did not mind it. He could not help but grin and laugh as the Djinn ruffled his hair, "H-hey!" He said as Leo laughed.
“Thank you Aixa,” Leo said, taking Aixa’s hand and holding it in place. Aixa lowered his eyes shyly, embarrassed by the man’s sudden affection for him. Sure, he flirted a lot, but nobody ever returned it. His thumb brushed Leo’s cheek as the Time Lord let his hand go. He settled back in his seat and offered a small smile at the man.
He realized that Leo might not appreciate being treated like a child, but to Aixa he was… just a very attractive one. After all, hadn’t the Nomad mentioned the Djinn being old enough to be his father? He opened his mouth to say this, to even call the younger man ‘sport’ or something, but his breath hitched in his throat. What if I’m the last one left? That would include his family.
So Aixa shut his mouth. He never had parents, but he’d often looked at humans and longed for the family. He had his brother, and they were incredibly close because there had never been two Jinn from the same fire before or after, but as complete as he was around Shezaan, it wasn’t a family.
“What have you been up to?” he asked lightly, deciding not to tell Leo that they could be lonely together. “I’ve been kicked out of my home for the foreseeable future,” he said, sighing forlornly. “My mistress’s familial unit is visiting. I do hate to leave her alone…”

"Same old, traveling around and getting into trouble.. lots of trouble." Nomad said with a grin, "Kicked out of your home? You are free to bunk with me if ya want to.." The Time Lord offered his friend, "I can even take you on another trip too.." He quickly added in.
The Nomad looked to the waitress, "Can I have a glass of water please." He said. The waitress nodded and went to fetch his drink.
The waitress walked over and set the glass of water in front of the Time Lord, "Water is free." she looked to Aixa, "Can I get you anything love?" She said, putting her hand on her hip.
A small smile played mischievously on his lips. “Why, Leo,” Aixa drawled playfully, “you’re already asking me to sleepover and you haven’t bought me a drink yet?” he asked, his smile widening into a grin. Hey, even if Aixa had no intention of following through on anything he said ever (he really was a romantic at heart – he wouldn’t give his first kiss to just anybody you know) a little teasing never hurt anyone.
I lost a friend that I loved.
His smile faltered slightly and he looked up at the waitress as Leo ordered some water. Aixa grinned and looked questioningly over at the Time Lord. Why would he order water at a pub? The Djinn looked down at the empty Sprite in his cup and frowned pensively. Then again, who ordered sprite in a pub? “Can I get you anything love?”
Aixa jumped, and offered the woman a skittish grin. “J-just a water for me, thanks,” he said, glancing back out the window. The rain had stopped as quickly as it had begun. Aixa was thankful – he was drastically less prepared this go-around.
“I can’t,” he said once the waitress had gone, looking up at Leo with a frown. “I can’t leave my mistress… and she definitely wouldn’t come.”

Hey, even if Aixa had no intention of following through on anything he said ever (he really was a romantic at heart – he wouldn’t give his first kiss to just anybody you know) a little teasing never hurt anyone.
The Nomad grinned, it had a hint of naughty and mischievous in it, "I will order you a drink if you like." He said as he took a sip of his water, "Then a sleep over afterwards." Yeah maybe he was still drunk but it was revealing a totally different side of The Nomad, one that not even he knew about and possibly had. Strangely he found that this incarnation of him was not attracted to women.
“I can’t,” he said once the waitress had gone, looking up at Leo with a frown. “I can’t leave my mistress… and she definitely wouldn’t come.”
The Nomad felt a pit open up in him as though a hope for something died, so what can he do if the Djinn cannot leave, "Why is she afraid of Time Lords or is she afraid of travel?" He looked at the glass of water, "Do you enjoy swimming or fishing?" He asked the Djinn, it sounded strange for the Time Lord to be asking such a question.
“I will order you a drink if you like,” Leo offered, taking a sip of his water. Aixa looked down at the table, grinning and fighting another blush. He had realized that the Nomad’s outer appearance had changed, but he hadn’t known that the man’s personality had been altered by regeneration as well. “Then a sleep over afterwards.” Aixa looked up at the man.
“Well in that case,” Aixa said lazily, glancing towards the waitress that set his glass of water in front of him. “A Peppermint Patty,” he told her and, with a small grin and tilt of his head, added, “on him.”
Sure, he was going to regret it immediately afterwards. His judgment was rather impaired when he drank anything much stronger than Sprite – including drinks with a lot of coffee. Alcohol made for a very loopy Djinn, and caffeine made for a very hyperactive energetic one. Still, he trusted the Nomad not to take advantage of him. What was a former master if not trustworthy?
“Why is she afraid of Time Lords or is she afraid of travel?”
“Uh… well, both… among others.” He hadn’t missed the upset look that had crossed the man’s face, but he decided not to mention it.
“Do you enjoy swimming or fishing?”
Aixa’s eyebrows went up. “Um… yeah, I can swim. Fishing is boring. Why?”
“Well in that case,” Aixa said lazily, glancing towards the waitress that set his glass of water in front of him. “A Peppermint Patty,” he told her and, with a small grin and tilt of his head, added, “on him.”
"Yes and a shandy please?" He said and handed her some money, "Keep the change." He said with a smile, the woman looked at the bill he gave her, the waitress's eyes widened and hurried off to get the orders.
"Mom you will never believe this!" She yelled.
The Time Lord smiled, "Gave her a large sum of money he told the Djinn. He loved making people happy, it made the Nomad feel good about himself.
Why?”
"Would she freak out if she met me? Would she try to kill or coward?" He asked then shook his head, what was he trying to get at? He looked back at the Djinn, "Well would ya like to go and do some swimming?" He asked, "If not.. uh.." Well if the Djinn did not want to go swimming or fishing then the Time Lord was out of ideas.
Oh great. The djinn had no idea what he had been expecting, but clearly he hadn't thought it out as well as he should have. There was something wrong with the Nomad - or maybe this was just what he was like now that he'd changed - and Aixa couldn't decide whether it was exciting or terrifying that his personality had changed so drastically. How did he know that the man wouldn't hurt him while he was drunk? He highly doubted it, but he knew that before Leo would have blushed and demurred, and now it was Aixa who was doing a rather alarming amount of blushing. He stared down at his empty sprite, watching as the Time Lord handed the girl her money.
Keep the change.
Aixa stared at him, slack-jawed. He wasn't much concerned with money - he had no need for shelter, food, or any of those other 'material' things. He could do without clothes if he took another form other than a human. Still, his energy was still rather low from the Nothing's attack on him, so he wasn't doing a lot of shape-shifting. "Yeah," he said, raising an eyebrow lightly. "I, uh... thank you for the drink," he said as the young woman hurried back with their drinks. He drank it hesitantly, trying to delay the oncoming drunken stupor that he knew the alcohol would cause. And if a drunken Time Lord and a drunken Djinn decided to traipse through London, who knew what would happen?
End of the world, probably.
He looked up as Leo questioned him about Pippa again. His eyes narrowed, a quick twitch of suspicion thrumming through him. Why was Leo so interested in her? "She wouldn't harm a fly," he said, and it was simultaneously the truth and a lie, because he knew she was afraid of flies but she'd seemed willing enough to slam his skull in with a baseball bat when she'd first summoned him. "She's a great person. She wouldn't leave me," he muttered, shifting uncomfortably as soon as he said it. It hadn't been Leo's fault he died... except, well, you know. It had been. "Sorry," he mumbled, not wanting to be drunk and Leo in a poor mood over what he said.
"Yes! I would t' go shwmming," Aixa said cheerfully, gulping down the chocolatey alcohol. His head was fuzzy, but he didn't mind so much. "How are we going to swim? I don't ha' swim trousers," Aixa said, pronouncing each word as carefully as he could to at least pretend like he was sober. Although humans (and probably Time Lords) could handle their alcohol without immediately becoming drunk, Jinn didn't technically have a physiology or blood system, so the alcohol went straight to his energy.
And the caffeine from the drink, mixed with the alcohol, was making the djinn bounce in his seat, drunk and hyper. "Hey, guess what? Yer a good guy," Aixa said solemnly, waving his hands to demonstrate Leo's goodness.
"You're welcome.." Nomad said before taking a sip of his drink and set the glass down.

"It was my fault.. I was the one treading on a sensitive topic in the first place." The Time Lord said, looking down at his glass.

The Nomad looked at the Djinn, "Well I have a pool in my TARDIS, or we can go to a lake outside of town that I found.. your choice." He said and took another sip of his drink. Setting the glass down, "I can provide you with some swim shorts." He said in response to the Djinn's question.
"Hey, guess what? Yer a good guy," Aixa said solemnly, waving his hands to demonstrate Leo's goodness.
"You are the best friend that a man can ask for Aixa.." He replied with a warm smile.
