A smile spread itself across Aixa’s face. She had blushed when he mentioned that the Head of the Council wasn’t capable of love. Why would she have done if she hadn’t been interested? He exposed his canines in a slightly predatorial grin. “What exactly are you implying?” she asked defensively, and Aixa’s grin dropped to a smirk and he raised his hands as a mock surrender. It didn’t need to be answered, and they both knew it. Her blush had already given him the ammo he needed.
“I do understand love, don’t mistake that. But I can’t help you. Or, I won’t. There’s nothing I can, or want, to do.”
Aixa licked his lips and nodded. “Sure. And if Shezzy dies, I’ll make sure remember that.” He wait a few moments, and then mentioned the life of her precious little Head was on the line. Immediately her expression flared with anger and the smirk on his lips widened.
“You’d have to kill me first,” she snapped.
Unfortunately, she seemed to realize just what she had implied and the energy faded from her hands. “I won’t tell him… and when the Time Lords get free and my Shezzy lets the Nothing free, maybe I’ll ask them to not kill your little Head of Council too painfully,” he said calmly. “But maybe I can’t, or, I won’t. There might be nothing I can, or want, to do,” Aixa echoed her.
That smirk was starting to annoy Iona now. But she didn't say anything, she just listened. After a while, she sighed and sat down, opposite him.
"Maybe I can find out about...Shezaan, was it?" she said, looking at her hands. "But I can't promise anything." she said quietly. The anger and evilness had sort of faded out of her at this moment.
"I won’t tell him… and when the Time Lords get free and my Shezzy lets the Nothing free, maybe I’ll ask them to not kill your little Head of Council too painfully,” he said calmly. “But maybe I can’t, or, I won’t. There might be nothing I can, or want, to do." Aixa echoed her.
"You don't have to tell him. He probably already knows." Iona shrugged. "He knows pretty much everything." Iona then winced at the thought of Aixa's next few sentences. "Well, then. It's simple as that." she looked him straight in the eye. "I won't let them. I'll do whatever possible to stop them."
He regarded her warily as she sighed and sat across from him. He looked over at the human defensively, but Mattie was still curled in the corner and the girl showed no signs of any ill intent towards him. Aixa sighed and put his knees against his chest. He could have asked for better company, but at least the Head of the Council hadn’t forced him to be in the same room as a Shaytaan. He would have been killed already, or, at the very least, he’d have been begging for death. Now that he thought about, she was probably one of the only higher ups that wouldn’t have killed him where he stood for talking to her like that.
But he seemed to have found her soft spot. Aixa smiled as he watched her will begin to disintegrate. He likened it to a spider – how they liquefy their prey before consuming it. “Maybe I can find out about… Shezaan, was it?” she asked. Aixa nodded when she inquired about his name. “But I can’t promise anything.”
“Thank you, Iona,” Aixa said kindly, offering her a smile. “And if you see him,” he said, the smile turning on his lips slightly to give her another smirk (he found it a little funny how his expression seemed to annoy her). “Give him a great big hug and say, come play with us Shezzy.”
To his credit, he did manage to keep a fairly straight face for several seconds. He laughed, happy that he was sitting down or he would have collapsed. He caught his breath and gave her an impish grin. He was sure he wasn’t as funny as he made himself out to be, but he was fevered and a lot of things were funny that probably shouldn’t be.
“You don’t have to tell him. He probably already knows.”
“I don’t know. You hide it so well,” Aixa said, raising an eyebrow.
“He knows pretty much everything. Well, then. It’s simple as that. I won’t let them. I’ll do whatever possible to stop them.”
Aixa wasn’t sure anymore if that was a threat or if she was promising to help him. “I need to see him, Iona. Ten minutes. I’m…” he sighed and swallowed down his pride. “I’m begging you. Just ten minutes. You can watch us if you want, I don’t care.”
Iona smiled slightly. "Don't push it." she said, getting up.
“I don’t know. You hide it so well,” Aixa said, raising an eyebrow.
"Maybe." she said, sighing. "But he's the Head...even if he doesn't know, he'll probably find out. And I can tell you, I'm not looking forward to that."
“I need to see him, Iona. Ten minutes. I’m…” he sighed and swallowed down his pride. “I’m begging you. Just ten minutes. You can watch us if you want, I don’t care.”
Iona sighed, then she turned and headed towards the door. "Ten minutes. I'll be watching." she said, turning to face him once she was at the door.
Aixa watched as she stood. Instead of being annoyed, however, she had a smile on her lips. The amir stared at her, confused. It was a good sign, and as she told him not to push it, he nodded and got to his feet. He glanced over at Mattie, but he couldn’t make a demand for Blue to be reunited with his human. He quietly apologized to the much older amir. Maybe somehow Shezzy could help him think of a way to save the fragile human, but… but if the Time Lords were right and time can’t be modified to prevent certain things…
Then didn’t that mean Mattie, too, was something that couldn’t be prevented?
He listened as she admitted defeat and her feelings for the Head of the Council. Aixa figured she was probably damaged in the brain because there was no way that the little monster had any good qualities about him. “Good luck,” he said blandly, because that was all he could think to say. What would he do if he knew someone had feelings for them? Kill them?
“Ten minutes,” she said when she was at the door. “I’ll be watching,” she promised, facing him.
Aixa’s grin spread and he hurried towards her, only to flinch as pale green energy shot into him. “When the Head touched me earlier, he must have made sure I couldn’t leave the room,” Aixa said, taking a step back and trying to pass by the invisible barrier again. The energy crackled once more and he hissed from the pain. “You’ll have to bring Shezaan here. I’ll… hold down the human, make sure he doesn’t try any funny business…”
Iona nodded and left the room. She walked along the rooms, looking in the cracks in the doors until finally she asked someone and an Ifrit showed her the room this...Shezaan was in.
Iona took a breath and then entered the room. She walked in, closing the door behind her. "Shezaan, right? Aixa wants to see you."
Iona took a breath and then entered the room. She walked in, closing the door behind her. "Shezaan, right? Aixa wants to see you."
He had just been escorted by a Shaytaan from his former room, brain puzzling over how he was going to get back to Aixa, apologize for his stupid actions and putting him in the position he was in. He could feel a pang of self revolt welling up in him when a young girl.. at least, that was the form she chose, approached him.
He could sense the power radiating from her, just in her presence.. Another Ifrit. He swallowed, his throat already tight from having a lumbering Shaytaan behind him. But the moment his beloved Aixa's name passed her small lips he was immediatly on his knees before her, wanting to desperately to cling to her but not daring to touch the Ifrit. "My Aixa.. Is he safe? Has any harm come to him? Please take me to him! I.. I have to much to apologize for!"
This child.. this demonic Ifrit was the angel he needed just then. Being on his knees brought him to eye level with Iona, blue eyes pleading for an answer that his Aixa was safe.
Iona felt a slight pang of uncertainty and doubt at what she was about to do here, but soon after, Shezaan made her forget those feelings instantly by his words.
"My Aixa.. Is he safe? Has any harm come to him? Please take me to him! I.. I have to much to apologize for!"
Iona was a little surprised by his sudden presence on his knees before her, but she nodded calmly. "Yes, he is safe. A little weak, but he is safe. Come, I shall take you to him. 10 minutes only, though." she said, looking down at him.
She'd secretly give anything to have someone beg at someone's knees to see her...she wanted someone to love her as much as Shezaan and Aixa clearly loved each other. The Ifrit turned and headed for the door and opened it, waiting for Shezaan to join her.
Shezaan saw his Aixa standing the in nearly empty cell, and arms were thrown around him in a tight hug, nearly lifting Aixa off the ground, eager and frantic kisses dotted on Aixa's forehead, cheeks, and lips. In between each dotted kiss he managed "Are you alright, Did he harm you?" He set Aixa back down and hinds immediatly went to his facem turning Aixa's head in all directions, looking for even the slightest mark or hair out of place. He brushed his hair from his face and rested his forehead to Aixa's and shuddered a soft sigh, holding Aixa's face.
"I was so foolish, my love. I hoped he would take us both.. Not divide us. I... I cant be apart from you again. I can't." His voice almost broke with a sob, his bare shoulders trembling as he was determined not to cry. It was okay if Aixa cried, he was the only being held here because of his stupidity. No, Shezaan had to be the strong one. His eyes closed gently. He needed to calm down because the Ifrit was only giving them a short moment.
Those fierce blue eyes looked into Aixa's as he tenderly held Aixa's face in his warm hands "I... will fix this. I'm going to get you out of here.. I know that means I'll have to kill someone.... But I will get you out of here. I wont let The Head harm you." His eyes drifted away looking to a wall, unable to keep Aixa's gaze.. He knew he'd have to kill a dear friend and that was eating away at him. He noticed the figure of a man leaying in a curled up ball against the wall, motionless.. He shuddered softly and looked back at Aixa.
He was getting pretty nervous. It wasn't that Iona had been gone very long, but rather it was that he wasn't entirely sure he'd convinced her. Aixa knew how volatile the Ifrits were. So although Iona had told him that she would retrieve Shezzy, it didn't mean that she was going to. Perhaps she went to visit the Head of the Council to tell the evil little boy to drive them even farther apart? Perhaps she was just going to kill him? Aixa looked anxiously at the human, wishing he was conscious just to have some company.
Then the door opened, and his beautiful little brother - his soulmate - and Aixa barely had time to grin before he was bowled over in a tight hug. He wrapped his arms around Shezaan, grinning brightly as the other amir almost picked him up. Aixa squirmed happily as Shezzy pressed kisses everywhere. He returned them cheerfully, seemingly unperturbed he was being held a prisoner as long as Shezzy was with him.
"Are you alright, Did he harm you?"
Aixa shook his head as his brother let him go. "No, I've been treated...well," he said, his hand brushing to the side of his face the Head had burned. It was just the shape of a bright red handprint now. He allowed his head to be moved as Shezzy looked for... well, he wasn't exactly sure what.
Shezaan pressed his face against Aixa's, and the older amir kissed him gently.
"I was so foolish, my love. I hoped he would take us both.. Not divide us. I... I can't be apart from you again. I can't."
Poor Shezaan sounded like he was going to cry. Aixa frowned and wrapped his arms around his brother for a hug. "You did the right thing. I'll be fine. You'll be fine," Aixa promised, smiling cheerfully despite his own worries. "It'll work out. It'll have to." He brushed his brother's hair behind his ears, running his fingers down his bare chest.
Wait... why was Shezzy shirtless?
Aixa nearly asked, but Shezaan took his face and held it. "I... will fix this. I'm going to get you out of here.. I know that means I'll have to kill someone.... But I will get you out of here. I won't let The Head harm you."
He wasn't worth that. He wasn't worth the death of some innocent, and he wasn't worth Shezaan taking a life in his hands. He shook his head gently, waiting for his brother to look at him again. "Don't do this for me. I'm not worth that," Aixa said, pulling Shezzy into a hug again. "Everything will be okay, Shezzy. Y-you'll be fine, and I'll be okay, and my Pippa will be... and Pippa..."
His voice broke. Pippa wouldn't forgive him. He was the only reason she'd been kidnapped. And who knew what the Jinn would do to her? Who knew what would happen...? Aixa looked down, embarrassed. If he couldn't believe in himself, why should Shezaan? "She'll be fine, too. And we'll live in a little house together in a house in the middle of nowhere but close enough to a police station, and there will be a thousand door locks, and it will be safe and perfect and you'll be there and so will Pippa," he said, clinging tightly to his brother.
Iona watched the scene play out and couldn't help but feel a little envy because nobody ever treated her with this much love. Putting on her cold, careless face, Iona crossed her arms and watched them. She looked behind her, keeping look out as well as keeping an eye on Aixa and Shezaan. She needed to make sure they weren't going to try anything. But she also needed to make sure that they were not caught out in the act. Iona would be seriously punished if they did.
Shezaan rested his head against Aixa's shoulder and sighed. He smiled at the mention of living with him and his mistress in a little hose they could stay in, to be together for ever. But his previous comment was lingering in his mind. Was he really doing the right thing? He didnt feel like he was.
"I love you..."
Shezaan smiled softly and looked into Aixa's mathcing blue eyes.. His eyes.. 'Our eyes' he told himself.. The same piercing brilliant blue. His hands cradled Aixa's face and leaned in pressing their lips together in a soft but sensual kiss. "I Love you too, Aixa. More than I've ever cared about anything. "
He wrapped his arms around Aixa tightly. He knew their time together was on a delicate thread and so he firmly took Aixa's face in his hands after drawing away from their kiss. "No matter what happens.. I will come back for you. My love..... My soul..." he said, dotting his lips with kisses between each pause.
Aixa loosened his grip on Shezzy, pressing into the kiss with a ‘little’ need. A part of his mind was whispering that it wasn’t right that he was so comfortable in his brother’s arms, but the greater part of his brain was too busy basking in the total glory of having Shezaan’s attentions – and lips, and arms – on him. His soul mate pulled away slightly and Aixa opened his eyes, confused. “I love you too, Aixa.” He said it! Aixa’s face nearly split from the wide grin. “More than I’ve ever cared about anything.”
The Djinn nearly pushed his brother against the wall and had his way with him then, but he remembered Iona and the human, so Aixa’s hand remained on his brother’s bare chest uncertainly. “Just you wait until we’re out of this,” Aixa said, running his fingertips lightly over his brother’s Lamp. “I know a thing or two I’d like to do to you.” He made his voice light, trying not to let Shezzy see how nervous he was that they wouldn’t be able to leave.
But they had to. They couldn’t have come all this way just to have their lives end, right? His brother wrapped his arms around him, and Aixa’s grin fell from his lips. “I’ll make everything okay. I will.”
“No matter what happens—” Aixa returned the kiss, the smile fighting its way back to his face – “I will come back for you.” No matter what? Aixa pressed the kiss back, confused. What did that mean? “My love…” This sounded too much like a goodbye. Aixa’s grip on his brother tightened, and he couldn’t bring himself to return the kiss. “My soul…”
Aixa turned his head, dodging Shezaan’s last kiss. “No! No, no!” It hadn’t struck him before how short ten minutes was. Especially when it could potentially be the last ten minutes. “I… I can’t…” do anything to stop this, save you, save me “If his plans work, we won’t…we won’t exist…”
Somehow, that was worse than dying. Aixa could deal with dying, but… but if he never existed? “How much time left, Iona?”
This love stuff was starting to make Iona feel sick. Really, she envied it slightly, but these two...it was a little over the top. However, she didn't say this, and just kept looking out in case the Head, or anyone else, came along. Then she would have to do something...she hadn't yet thought of what.
"How much time left, Iona?"
At the mention of her name Iona looked over at Aixa. "Five minutes." she replied calmly, before turning her head back to keep watch once more. "Make it quick." she added.Iona thought about what would happen if the Head of the Council found out about her allowing this - and that thought made her shiver. Iona didn't want to dwell on that thought any moment longer than she had to.
Shezaan let out a slight gasp, a hint of uncertainty mingled with pleasure as Aixa forced him against the wall. “Just you wait until we’re out of this,” Aixa said, running his fingertips lightly over his brother’s Lamp. “I know a thing or two I’d like to do to you.” Shezaan's spine arched with a trembling chill.. He never got that reaction when anyone else touched it.. Only Aixa. The touch of his fingers to his lamp was like warm fingers trailing down his spine, slow and sensual.
He almost wished Aixa had his lamp to test the theory that his reaction would be the same. His long fingers reached up to Aixa's hair, sweeping his bangs away, wanting to see his brother's beautiful eyes. He whispered softly as his lower feminine lip trembled "The things I would let you do to me..." He went to softly kissing his brother, delicately with a hint of need. Whispering his love and devotion to him. But when Aixa turned from his last kiss, those blue eyes glimmered with a hint of sadness.. He had upset him, he could tell...
“No! No, no! I… I can’t…” Shezaan leaned back away from him, studying his twin. His heart ached to see him so distraught. “If his plans work, we won’t…we won’t exist…” Shezaan drew in a slow breath. He knew that was always a possibility. It would mean that their souls would never be split. Their strange and slightly tragic birth, clinging desperately to each other, That part wasn't so bad.. But the thought of being ripped out of each others arms to become enslaved, their already tortured and split souls torn from them and placed into their lamps. That memory, he could live without. But... To be completely undone, to have never met Aixa the way he was now.. He couldn't stand that thought. Shezaan almost managed to hold it back but he quietly choked back a sob, his arms tightening around Aixa.
"How much time left, Iona?" Shezaan couldn't bare to look at the Ifrit.. he didnt want to hear the answer. He wanted so much freeze this moment in time for eternity. Because what would come next would feel just has gut wrenching as the first time he was ripped from Aixa's arms. He couldnt bear that pain again. Because there was a terrifying chance... That this was their last embrace.
At the mention of her name Iona looked over at Aixa. "Five minutes Make it quick." This same words screamed in Shezaan's mind 'Not enough... Not enough.. it just wasn't enough time.' He felt as though he had only been here mere seconds. And time was being ripped away from them as viciously as their souls had been. "I will make this right. I swear it" and like before in The Room of the Ummaar, Shezaan's temperature began to spike. He didnt want to go, just couldn't leave his Aixa behind to what ever fate awaited him.
