Well, hello everyone!

Few familiar names here, so some of you might know me as the Valeyard on the Whoniverse RP forum. For those who don't...hello! I'm Aietradaea, squeeing Doctor Who fangirl, obsessed with all eras, classic through new series, including novels and audios.

So, it's Akira who's recruited me this time - your vibrant Six, I gather. Aaand...what I was wondering was...

...O.K., so I like to spread myself out a bit - write different characters with different people - and, well, the Doctor's had an awful lot of companions over the years, and I'm sure he misses all of them at one time or another!

So, would it be possible for me to join this site as kind of a "Companion-For-Hire"? As in, if a Doctor wants to play in a particular era or setting but there's no permanent player for the companion(s) they want/need, they could give me a bell and I'd hop in and play whoever they need? Jo or Liz for Three; Tegan or Peri for Five; Mel, Frobisher, Evelyn, Glitz, Jack Chance for Six; Ellie Martin, Adam Mitchell, Craig Owens...whoever.

I could give short writing samples of needed characters to whoever would be playing with me, if they'd like; and obviously, if someone rocked up who wanted to take up permanently a character I was doing, I'd step aside.

I imagine I'd end up with a little collection of scattered one-off threads, and I know how much writing I can handle, so when I foresee a busy patch coming up in real-life, I could wind back on committing to new ones.

So...would this be something that'd be allowed around here; and something that people might want?

Personally, I don't have a problem with temporary characters. I used to play a Doctor, so I know how annoying it is to have to make up excuses for their absences. I'm sure the Doctors here would enjoy it very much. I'd wait for Ace's approval, but like I said, I think it's a good idea.

I am curious about whether you'd have a permanent character along with your temporary ones? You mentioned playing the Valeyard? Ours just quit, if you're interested.

And I'm not sure whether I'd play a permanent character as well. I don't usually do more than one forum at any one time, and creatively, I think I prefer just having the one Valeyard on my other forum (and I see yours has set up a sort of reimagined canon/origin for him? Whereas I usually play him by the novels/audios ("He Jests At Scars", "Time's Champion" and "Matrix")). Buuut...maybe if, after a bit of RPing around with different characters/threads/people, I find I enjoy one particular character, I might consider putting up a proper app for them and playing them permanently. Not sure. But I fancy a bit of a sort of fruit salad of RPing here, if you will! Rather than a whole can of sliced pineapple _{nooot that I compare the Valeyard to a can of sliced pineapple, of course...(delicious, angsty, tragic pineapple...dear Rassilon, that didn't sound as rude in my head!)} And I figure it'd be handy to have someone around who could be anyone necessary - be like having several lower-activity players, rather than just the one.

Fine by me You have my blessing Aietra just make sure you don't spread yourself to thin . Also as of yesterday our Valeyard position is open so you don't have to worry about that.

EMILIIIEEE! *glomps you* Oh, nothing wrong with pineapple, nothing at all - I loves me some pineapple! ;D But I do have my pineapple _{(this metaphor is starting to feel weird!)} over on Whoniverse. Maybe when I've found my feet here, I could be persuaded to break out the pineapple again. Or maybe Thirteen - as an echo of timelines-erased, kind of...ooh, have I just thought of a something... :] Maybe.
