"Don't Worry Maria, I'll be sure to bring him back safe and sound." Silas said as he hurried Mark to his TARDIS. "Well, mostly Safe. Hurry now boy put this on."
"No. No. Dad stop!" Maria started, as she hurried after them. She was not going to let her only son leave with her father. If only she had been a second sooner, she might have been able to stop him.
"Leo!" Maria called out for her husband, sounding quite annoyed. "I... need a drink."
Silas grinned at Mark, before rushing to his center console. He made a movement with his hand to tell Mark to help out. "Come on boy, we need to pick up someone else up for our boys night out. Actually nights.... No matter."
Luckily, the last time Shadow visited his great-grandson, he had synced his TARDIS to Magpie's TARDIS. So that made it easy for him to materialize inside hers.
He scratched his beard a bit, before instructing Mark to stay inside, before stepping out. "Hey everyone. Need to borrow Leon for a bit of a boys night. And I really don't have time to argue and/or discuss it. So..." He paused as he leaned against his TARDIS door, knowing full well that Leon would be up for the adventure. The kid usually was. "Leon you need to hurry up, cause you got thirty seconds."
He figured both boys needed some time away from their parents. Heck he did when he was a teenager, granted his adventures usually ended very badly way back when.
He was brought out of his thoughts by a very upset Magpie, however, like he said. He wasn't going to argue. He just waited until Leon got inside, then made a quick salute with a rather cocky grin before following after.
"What are you waiting for you two. Start her up!" Silas instructed with a more playful look at the two. Oh, the plans he had in store. Well... They were going to find out.
All that Mark knew was that he was talking to his grandfather, mostly about how his dad, Leo, rarely lets him out to explore with him or Maria, and how he claims that it is, "Not safe.." for Mark or Magpie to explore. But with Magpie gone, Mark finds himself in the TARDIS alone at times. But now that he was a middle aged teenager, he felt it was time to get out and explore. Then he was suddenly finding himself being a mixture of pushed and pulled towards Shadow's TARDIS while he was yelling to Maria and Leo that he was going to borrow Mark.
Getting into the TARDIS after his grandfather he closed the door, grinning widely he ran up to the central control console and stood next to his grandfather, "We're picking up Leon?! Sweet!" He yelled excitedly.
He mostly watched how the Time Lord operated the ship, mostly because he was afraid of pressing the wrong button and sending them to the heart of a dying star or something just as bad.. like the last time when he pushed a button on his Dad's TARDIS and brought them to the center of a Black Hole that was consuming a star...
He was so glad that Shadow came and took him away from his parents.. especially from his dad. No matter what it always seemed that when Maria was willing to let Mark out to explore, that his dad, Nomad always had the final word. Mark was so tired of that. In a ways he wished that he had a Vortex Manipulator like his sister and just leave whenever he felt like it.. or leave all together and never visit again.
When the ship was landed he did as his Grandfather told him and stayed in the TARDIS, when Leon was finally inside he smiled widely, "Leon!!" He yelled. Then looked to Shadow as he told the two boys to start the ship up.
He walked over to the control console and looked at all the controls, his hearts pounded rapidly, he never actually controlled or flew a TARDIS before.. what do you do first? Mark wondered to himself.
Magpie had been in the middle of something when her grandfather popped in out of no where and simply announced that he was taking Leon. "What? No! You cant just up and take him!"
But before an argument ensued between his mother and great grandfather, Leon dashed right passed her, only stopping to kiss her cheek and wink at her. "Tout va bien, Mama!! Shiva! Come on!! Allons-y!!" and dashed to Shadow's side to gratefully be whisked away.
Once inside Shadow's TARDIS, his dog, Shiva, licked Shadow's hand indicating she remembered him and was still grateful for the rescue and new home he'd given her. Leon loved that dog and if he could, he never went anywhere without her.
When Leon heard his name he spun around to see his uncle and just beamed and ran over, picking him up into a tight hug, lifting him off of his feet. "MARK!!" He set him down and turned to look at Shadow when he instructed them to fire up the TARDIS.
"You got it!!!" He chirped as he ran over to the console. Granted, every tardis was a little different, but the basics were the same and his mother often let him fiddle with the controls, so he had a rough idea of what to do. It also helped that Leon was mechanically inclined.
As Leon flipped a few switches, he noticed Marks apprehension and he grinned reassuringly at him "Hey, just start flipping switches! Something is BOUND to happen, right?" he said, a little too eagerly.
Silas grinned down at Shiva, placing his hand on her head and scratching behind her ears. "Hello pup, You've grown." Sure he was pointing out the obvious, but he felt it had to be said. And in the off chance he actually managed to offend the animal... Silas decided to add. "There's some treats in one of the lower cabinets in the kitchen. Feel free to help yourself."
He gave Shiva one more gentle pat on her head, before joining the boys in operating his TARDIS. "Alright, Mark. Leon." Silas began as he grabbed hold of the nearest lever, pulling it with obvious excitement, as the sound of it hitting the bit of barrier that prevented the lever to actually fall any further. "Where to first?"
Silas knew Mark and Leon probably had little experience flying a TARDIS. However, he wasn't about to have them fly it all by themselves. Yet. They were going to need practice, and who better to teach them, than their grandfather. Besides, he always thought of himself as a teacher. Only with an unconventional sort of method.
Sadly, his plan to let the two boys pick their destination, went a little awry. All because his TARDIS decided, she wanted a turn at the driver's seat.
Where was the destination set? Well, She landed in Ellis County, Kansas. August 23, 1869. The exact date "Wild Bill" Hickok became elected city Marshal, and sheriff.
"Change of plans. Go get some proper clothes on... Well at least for the Wild west." He told them as he headed to the wardrobe, only to return wearing a bit of western gear he found a long while ago. A dark brown Stetson with a small round hold in the front that went through the back.
He fixed the position of it, then twirled a gun with his index finger before placing it straight into it's holster. A rather excited and large grin grew on his face as he wrapped an arm around each of the boy's shoulders. "Boys, I hope you're ready for the first of many adventures we're going to have. Cause it starts..." Silas paused as his TARDIS opened the doors for them, and he slipped a bit behind them. His hands quickly placed flat on their spines, before he pushed them out. Himself, not far behind them.
"Now." Silas gave the boys a quick wink, as he narrowly avoided being hit by a horse pulled wagon. He smiled apologetically at the driver, before making sure both boys didn't make the same mistake. "Come on you two, Day light is a wasting."

As Leon flipped a few switches, he noticed Marks apprehension and he grinned reassuringly at him "Hey, just start flipping switches! Something is BOUND to happen, right?" he said, a little too eagerly.
Mark understood Leon's remark, and produced a naughty grin, "You're right Leon!" And started flipping switches eagerly, "Where do you think we are going to go? Rome? Some strange planet where gravity is out of whack to the point down is up?"
Mark looked up at his grandfather, "Well where ever it is we are to go.." The lad has really done much exploration, and was eager to go anywhere that will allow him to do as much exploring as possible, "I am up for anything." Then something happened and the ship was taking control of herself, it did not startle Mark as Leo's TARDIS would do exactly the same thing every now and then.
"Change of plans. Go get some proper clothes on... Well at least for the Wild west." He told them as he headed to the wardrobe, only to return wearing a bit of western gear he found a long while ago. A dark brown Stetson with a small round hold in the front that went through the back.
Mark looked to Leon, then to Silas as he came out of the wardrobe again but in different garments, then looked back to Leon, "Come on Leon!" He said before charging into the wardrobe. Looking through all the clothing he decided on camel colored breeches, a light blue button up top, red handkerchief and a trench coat. Who knows it may come in handy with hiding things. Then looked over to Leon before walking out, he was feeling rather silly.. but it was too late to change his mind as Silas pushed him and Leon out the door.
The young man barely got out of the way of a horse carriage, pulling Leon back with him, "Woah! That was a close one." Then he realized that his accent will be a hard one to hide from the locals and hoped it will not become a problem. Looking to Silas he ran after the man, "Come on Leon."
The dog wagged his tail furiously at the mention of treats and padded off to the pantry to raid the cupboard. Leon just smirked at his dog and then at Shadow before looking back to Mark as he rattled off questions about their possible locations. Leon grinned and shrugged as the three of them piloted the TARDIS to it's location.
When shadow informed them that had landed and to change, he looked down at his attire with an arched brow. However unintentional it may have been, he looked like a priest. Black shirt with a black jacket, with a high white collar (That was, of course, used to conceal the rope scar that went across his throat), Long black slacks and black pointed boots. He ran his fingers through his medium coarse black hair.
His jacket would certainly need to be traded out so he rummaged through the assortment of clothing until he found a black leather long coat and his bright green eyes seemed to shine. It was perfect. He yanked it off the hanger, shrugged off his own jacket and slipped on the long coat. His fingers went to his papa's rosary and grinned. Unintentional or not, Leon found it rather amusing that he looked like a priest. He'd fit right in. After all, if his memory served him correctly, the attire of priests hadn't changed too terribly much over the years.
He whistled for Shiva to join them and went to step out of the TARDIS.. or rather, he and Mark for forcefully pushed out by Shadow, only to very nearly be run down by a horse drawn wagon. Leon arched a brow and looked back at Shadow and muttered something to the effect of "Yeah, try not to get us killed on day one"
As he took a good look around at their surroundings, he looked back at Shadow.. or.. Silas... If he was going to address him by name, Shadow wasn't going to be a good thing to call him in front of a bunch of humans.. That was not going to bode well. He patted the side of his leg to tell Shiva to heel. Their accents were going to stand out quite a bit.. Two Englishmen and a Frenchman.
"Right! where are we going first, Sh..er.. Silas?"
