Colton walked along the bridge of the ship, RMS Titanic II. The ship was a direct decedent of the original RMS Titanic and like the grandmother ship, RMS Titanic II was the icon of the modern age, and was destined to bring the world to peace. At least that was the hope. So far it appeared to be working. But that did not mean that the ship was not a target. The chief officer looked up to the clock as it chimed.. and at the same time, the officer who was to be in charge came walking onto the bridge.
Colton McCollen smiled at the much younger gentleman, "Hello Mr.Glynedd." Colton greeted the other man, then started relaying things that happened while Colton was in command of the bridge, which was not much, as well as messages and warnings. Again which was not much and not of concern of the bridge officers as they were well south of where ice bergs will be encountered. The man patted the other man on the shoulder, "And with that I am off on my rounds. See you tonight." The man was then walking off the bridge and walking down the deck.
Tugging on the ropes of the first life boat, the officer was satisfied. The routine was the same as when he was an officer back in the late 1800's and the early 1900's until he mysteriously stepped into the 21st century. In a ways, the man was glad that things did not change much.. except for some things. It was another hour or two before Colton was done walking down the deck, checking on all the life boats before stepping inside.
And just like when he was an officer on the RMS Adriatic, some passengers came walking up to him. The one that he paid attention to was a young lad who appeared to be no older than five years old, "Excuse me sir, but when will we be in New York?"
Colton smiled widely at the child, "We will be in New York in four more days. I'm sure you can wait that long." He ruffled the child's hair before standing up and continued his routine. The approach from the child was not the only one. Other people that ranged widely in age approached the officer. Colton was relieved when he was in the area of the ship that was strictly only to be entered by crew members.
The officer was walking through the cargo compartment when he spotted something that was quite odd. It was a blue box that said POLICE on it. Colton approached the Blue Box, looking it up and down and around it. The entire time Colton wondered if this object was on the cargo list. Colton was about to turn to see if he can find the cargo list when the door opened up and a man came walking out.
"What is this.. doing here? Is this on the cargo list Sir?" Colton asked, "Mark you if this is not on the cargo list I will have to put down that this is being smuggled and have you arrested."
Vrewww, vrewww! The Tardis engines were coming alive as the Doctor ran around his counsel pushing buttons and what not. He was on his way to pick up Clara for another adventure and was trying to think where to take her this time. Paris maybe? No he was banned from there. Maybe the biggest library in the universe? Probably not, that place still gave him the chills. The Doctor was still thinking about various location when the Tardis started to shake uncontrollably. He quickly went to the monitor to see what was wrong. By the time he reached it with minimal tripping, the Tardis had stopped shaking and appeared completely fine. "Where are we know?" The Doctor straightened his bow tie and stepped out the front door.
He was greeted by a man wearing a captains uniform, and a very confused look. "What is this... doing here? Is this on the cargo list sir? mark you if this is not on the cargo list I will have to put down that this is being smuggled and have you arrested." The Doctor walked passed the captain and looked around at his surroundings. This clearly was not London, and the Doctor was already trying to come up with a apology for Clara when he picked her up late. He turned back around to the captain, pulled out his psychic paper, and put in the captains face. " John Smith with Scotland yard. I'am here to make sure everything goes smoothly." The Doctor said while walking around the captain. By what the Doctor could see from his surroundings he was in some sort of cargo hold on a boat. He hated boats, so unreliable, and he had had some pretty bad experiences on boats. He tried to look for any logo on any of the boxes, or crates, but he couldn't see any. "You wouldn't know what boat i'am on would you?" The Doctor asked finally stopping in front of the captain and looking directly at him.
The Captain of the ship has seen strange.. heck he lived through it. But this was just beyond it. Just how did this man and this box get on board his ship with out him being told of it? He followed the man's movements, trying to figure him out. That was when a wallet with card was shown in his face. Colton could see that it was a Police Officer ID complete with a picture of the same man that was standing in front of him. With the mention of, "John Smith with Scotland yard. I'am here to make sure everything goes smoothly." sealed the proof that this man was a part of the police department.
Colton cleared his throat, "Well them Mr.Smith I must apologize. I was not aware that someone of your position and duty was on board my ship." The officer folded his hands neatly behind his back, standing at full attention. The man was now thinking that perhaps this was some sort of test by the government that things on board his ship were running smoothly and to regulations. Which of course Colton always made sure of from the smallest nut and bolt being properly in their assigned socket, the right amount of supplies for one voyage, to making sure all the crew members knew of what to do during any emergency situation and how to man the boats. Also unlike other ships he had a team of security personel. Who reported every incident among the passengers to Colton.
"You wouldn't know what boat i'am on would you?" Colton guessed that this was just another part of the test. To make sure his memory was still in tip top shape, "You are on board the RMS Titanic II, Sir." Colton replied quickly, "The pride of the United Kingdom and symbol of peace and unity of the 21st century." His gaze did not falter or change as the Time Lord turned around and fully faced the Captain.
When the doctor heard the captain say that the ship he was on was named the RMS Titanic II, he almost bursted out with laughter. When he trusted himself to speak with out laughing he calmly said " The RMS Titanic II, you do know what happened to the original Titanic don't you? Wait don't answer that of course you know, you silly humans and your habit of naming ships after ones with horrid histories." The Doctor walked away from the captain, and started looking through the cargo. Really for no reason he was just curious. he was looking through some ones personal luggage, when he heard something like a buzzing, or a sonicing. He stopped what he was doing and looked around himself, doing a complete 360 before coming to a complete stop to try and find the source of the noise. He finally figured out that it was his sonic that was making the noise, he took it out of his pocket and looked at its readings. " How exciting!" The Doctor turned around to look at the captain with a wide child like grin " I was starting to think that this was just a regular ship! But my sonic says other wise! This is just, fantastic! The readings say that there is a organic being on board who has been through a temporal flux, or to make it more simple, has been misplaced in time. There is another reading but it's too faint to see what it is exactly...." The Doctor trailed off of his ramblings and turned away from the captain scratching his chin in a thought full fashion.
There was an object misplaced in time, but there was something else that he couldn't make out, and it was really bothering him. From what he could make out from the reading was that whatever it was it wasn't human. And that usually meant that it wasn't friendly. He turned back around to face the captain and saw that he was a mixture of anger and confusion. So the Doctor being the Doctor said " Was it something I said?"
The RMS Titanic II, you do know what happened to the original Titanic don't you? Wait don't answer that of course you know, you silly humans and your habit of naming ships after ones with horrid histories."
The Captain's eyes narrowed some, "I am aware of what happened to the original Titanic, Sir." Then something caught on to the Captain that there was something strange about this man, "It was not my idea to give the ship her name.. if you want to file a complaint about it then you must go through the company to do so." He looked down some, taking in a deep breath. Yes, he knew about the original RMS Titanic. He was about to report to the ship to take up being her second officer when he somehow, literally stepped into the 21st century.
Colton looked around as there was some sort of a buzzing sound, he watched as the strange man who failed to introduce himself did a complete 360 degree turn before pulling something out of his pocket. There is another reading but it's too faint to see what it is exactly...."
The Captain looked to the man.. temporal flux? Was that what brought the Captain from 1912 to well what ever year it was now.. nearly or slightly over one hundred years into the future? His expression showed that he was troubled, but then he was also angry. He then thought that if it was not for this mishap that he would more than likely be at the bottom of the ocean.
" Was it something I said?"
Colton looked to the man, reaching up he removed the hat from his head and neatly placed it in the crook of his arm, like a proper officer. He still looked like he was confused, "I had something happen.. you mentioned a temporal flux.. someone at Torchwood some years back.. I think five years ago, told me that a temporal flux was what brought me here from the year of 1912 to now. Well ten years back." The Captain cleared his throat, "I was about to report to the RMS Titanic as her Second Officer when I 'stepped' into the Twenty-First century ten years ago." He looked into the Time Lord's eyes.
When the man in uniform explained that he was actually from 1912 and that he had somehow found his way into the 21st century, he got generally excited. He started pacing back and forth in front of the captain rambling to himself on how this captain from 1912 was here, a part from the temporal flux of course. " How did you get here though? Who wanted you hear? Why would a simple captain from the 1900's be taken to the 21'st century to be a captain to the RMS Tiatnic II, It doesn't make sense. YOU don't make sense" He said pointing a finger at the captain. " And I love it!" The Doctor spun away from the captain and started walking briskly towards the back of the ship, leaving the captain behind. HE started thinking about that other signal he got on his sonic, but it didn't come out completely. HE started wandering if the other signal he got was what brought his friend MR. Sea Captain, to the 21st century. The Doctor was deep in thought and didn't notice the metal door that was right in front of him, until it was too late. The Doctor hit the metal door, which brought him out of his thought. "OW! Why would someone put a door there!" The Doctor then turned to face the captain, which there were now two of. " Why didn't you warn me about that? I'am seeing double now! Oh i'am seeing double, that's new. I've never done that before."

The Captain shrugged, "I don't have the answers to any of those, Sir." He shifted on his feet a little, "All I know was that I somehow winded up in the 21st century and am now the Captain of the RMS Titanic II." He nodded a little as the Time Lord said that he did not make sense.. which was true, "I know that I don't.. make sense." He looked at The Doctor confused, "Why do you love it?" Colton quickly followed the Time Lord around the sacks of belongings and other cargo that was being carried across the Atlantic Ocean. That was until the Time Lord some how manage to walk face first into a bulkhead in front of him that was in plain view.
"OW! Why would someone put a door there!" The Doctor then turned to face the captain, which there were now two of. " Why didn't you warn me about that? I'am seeing double now! Oh i'am seeing double, that's new. I've never done that before."
The Captain bit back a laugh, "That is a bulkhead.. It's always there." The man tilted his head in curiosity, "You have never seen double before? Should that be such a concern?" The Captain gestured to the spiraling chairs towards the bow of the ship, "Perhaps I should take you up to my quarters and summon the chief doctor?"

The Captain gestured to the spiraling chairs towards the bow of the ship, "Perhaps I should take you up to my quarters and summon the chief doctor?" The Doctor turned around rubbing his forehead, to face the captain. " What? No I'am fine, I just have a head ache. And I've never had a reason to see double." The Doctor said turning away from the captain and trying to push open the Bulk head, to no avail. " How do you open these things?" Giving up the Doctor walked the other way to try and find another way to exit the cargo hold. The Doctor continued his train of thought, on the theories on how the Captain managed to come to the 21st century, or who brought him to the 21st century. He was about to turn the corner when he stopped him self. Right in front of him was another one of those bulk head thingys. "Ha! Not going to get me this time Mr. Bulk Head." The Doctor turned back around to go the other way, only to trip on one of the boxes, and fall face first on the ground. " Ow! Again! What is with this ship, its like its out to get me. Is it out to get me? No that's impossible." The Doctor got up from the floor, and put his hand to his head. " I don't know how much more my head can take." The Doctor turned back towards the Captain, still holding his head where he's hit it, multiple times. " You know what Mr. Captain, I think it would be safer just to go to your quarters for now. So I can figure out whats wrong here." The Doctor stood facing the Captain waiting for him to lead the way.
The Captain watched the Time Lord walk around just to get stopped by two bulk heads and trip on a small pile of boxes before acknowledging that it would be best to go to Colton's quarters. Colton nodded, "Right.. If you would kindly follow me." Colton started walking slowly towards the staircase that will take them straight up to the top deck of the bow of the Titanic II. He looked back to the man to make sure he was following him, The Doctor did seem to be distracted and full of thought.
Stopping at the door, he pulled the bar down and pushed the iron door open. He sighed some as he welcome the gentle ocean breeze that invaded the doorway. Stepping out of the doorway, Colton stood to the side and waited for The Doctor to step out before closing it.
Taking a deep breath he motioned to another set of stairs that will take them up to one of the two promenade decks, thankfully there were steps up to the Bridge that was off limits to passengers, "Just two more flights of stairs and we will be on the Bridge where my quarters are located." The man then walked over to the stairs and opened the gate, motioning for The Doctor to go up first as he will have to lock the gate back up.
The Doctor groaned when the captain said that there was only two flights of stairs left. It wasn't that he wasn't in shape or anything, it was just that he didn't really trust himself to walk the rest of the way. He had already walked into two bulkheads, and tripped over a couple of boxes. And he was still seeing double. He really did think that the ship was out to get him, or at least trying to get rid of him. Neither would be good. The Doctor paused and looked at the captain. " Is there a elevator on here, or has that not been invented yet? "
