New Best Friends (Rowan)

Chadirra was once again stuck on Earth after The Doctor left her on Earth. The shape shifter wondered if he had just forgotten about her or if he purposely left her.. which ever the case, she found herself all alone again. The shape shifter was reduced to swimming out in the ocean and stealing for food and other things that she needed to survive. She would look to children that had parents with jealousy wishing that she had parents to return to.

But right now she had bigger problems, she was stuck in one of her penguin forms, and the smallest of the four.. which honestly sucked because it made sneaking around hard. And well she couldn't move fast enough to exactly get anywhere without being seen or caught.

The worst part was that she got stuck in this smallest penguin form in the middle of a park so now she was reduced to hiding under a bush and sneaking a meal here and there. It was at the moment late at night and well there were still people walking around. And boy was she hungry. The little shape shifter poked her penguin head out from under the bush and looked around. When Chadirra saw that there was no one around she came out and started searching for pieces of food to eat.

There was a penguin in the park. Nobody else seemed to be startled by this fact although perhaps it was simply because they didn’t notice the penguin. Rowan stared hard at it, her head tilted like a curious puppy. Why was a penguin in the park? In London? Penguins weren’t naturally in England, were they? Rowan’s forte was in plant life – give her a plant and she could tell you the scientific name, the climate it thrives in, and whether or not she could make anything cool out of it.

Penguins? Not so much.

What did penguins even eat? Rowan rummaged in her pockets and pulled out some seeds. After sniffing them to ensure that it wasn’t one of her genetically altered plants, she crept over towards the bush that the penguin had hid in. “Here little penguin, penguin, penguin,” she cooed softly, kneeling down and gazing into the bushes. “I only have some seeds. Can you eat them?” she asked, dropping them on the ground and leaning back.

Okay, penguin in the park. What was she supposed to do? Rowan supposed that it was probably a zoo animal that had managed to escape, but... she didn’t see anyone looking for the penguin. And what was the saying? Finder’s keepers, losers not-theirs? She grinned mischievously. Well, her father had said no cats, but he certainly hadn’t said anything about penguins. “You’re so cute! I love you!”
