Face Claim: Eloise Mumford (as she was in ‘The River’)
Name: Dr. Evelyn Lawrence
Nicknames: Eve, Lyn, Dr.
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Species: Android/Genetically Advanced Human
Planet of Origin: Future Earth
Occupation: Research Scientist/Adventurer/Explorer
Physical Description:
?? Physically, Evelyn appears fit and athletic. She stands up tall and confident at 5ft 8” and with lithe and muscled built. Her stride is long and she is nimble and light on her feet. Her hands are almost permanently mucky with her fingernails cut short and dirt under what little is left. Her body has a hardened and weathered look to it, from years upon years spent out in the wilderness. There are scars, cuts and bruises all over her body from her harsh lifestyle but nothing too imposing.
? ?Her hair is dirty blonde in colour and extends roughly to her bust in length. It is slightly wavy towards the ends, and whenever it is put up a few strands hang around the side of her face. It usually rests in a ponytail but can be down or in a small bun.
? ?A feature point of Evelyn’s face is a long scar along her hairline on the right side. A small scattering of freckles sit across the bridge of her nose and prominent cheekbones. Evelyn’s eyes are a dull blue in colour and framed by blonde eyelashes. Her face is angular and well defined; and her skin is lightly tanned.
?? Clothing for her is practical and normally in neutral, natural or dark colours. A pair of trousers or shots, a tank top or button down and a dark green jacket is her normal outfit. On her wrist she has a battered and worn divers watch and a long necklace with a crucifix on the end, despite not being religious herself.
? She carries a blaster pistol in a holster at her waist along with charge clips. A rucksack on her back carries supplies and other various survival and domestic impliments.
? On the outside, she appears completely human. Even upon closer inspection it is hard to tell that she isn’t. A mechanical device helps her heart to pump and others control all internal processes, her blood is mixed with oil to make it slicker and her eyes are enhanced by technology. Evelyn herself thinks she is entirely human.
Personality:
As a scientist, Evelyn was always going to be curious. She finds herself when she’s exploring and can’t stay in one place too long. She craves excitement and adrenaline, and is a bit of a loner with ‘her’ way of doing things on an adventure. Eve’s vastly intelligent, at awe with the world and rather too caring to be cold. Her outlook on life is one of wonder and a longing to just get out and see everything the world has to offer. Opinionated, Evelyn sticks to her guns and stands up for what she thinks is right, even if it’s not.
When threatened, the more android side of her takes over and she becomes aggressive, violent and cruel. Independent, she hates to accept help from others and if you tell her to do something; she’s likely to go off and do her own thing without following orders. Her survival instincts are very good and she always tries to see the good in people, even if they are beyond saving. She tries to save everyone, and it kills her to know she can’t. At times, she becomes very quiet and contemplative. She’s a great planner and thinker and can spend hours just reading. Traditionally lively, it takes a lot to subdue her, so you know if you encounter her like that something has gone wrong. She relies heavily on her scientific logic and when things don’t work out that way she gets excited. It is as if she wants to be proved wrong just to be given an excuse to explore.
Strong willed, justified and rather sarcastic; she looks confident and has a way about her that makes her seem that she knows what she’s doing. Eve’s at her element when she’s outside and small spaces are her worst enemy. She’s quite a mellow character, and the complete opposite of naïve. The woman is experienced; and respects those that deserve it. She’s my ‘hero’ character if you will. She can be quite rough and likes to get her hands dirty and doesn’t tolerate people that don’t pull their weight. Brave and courageous, she isn’t stupid. Despite being a loner for much of the time, she does like the occasional company so long as they aren’t ‘stupid’.
History:
? Evelyn was born on Future Earth in a year too far away to name. Her father was a Research Scientist and her mother died shortly after birth from complications and the Doctors were unable to save her.
? Growing up, Evelyn spent a lot of time with her father. He educated her himself and took her with him on his explorations. From a young age she had an interest in the natural world and would sometimes go out into the wilderness for days to explore. She visited worlds, made contact with ancient civilisations and emerged the other end well cultured and with respect for life. Her life was interesting and diverse, with no two days the same. She went back to Future Earth to do her degree and doctorate and then went back out with her father.
? Then, the accident happened. She remembered it vividly; she was exploring a previously uncharted area of the planet with the intent to sample plant life for analysis when she was ambushed by the locals. Attacked, bloody, beaten and nearly killed; she was found by her father and the rest of the party after activating the distress signal on her armband. After telling her father she was sorry for wandering off, she died in his arms.
? The man was distraught, he couldn’t bear to loose his only daughter. Some would say he was insane, others cruel; but he did what he thought was right. He cryogenically froze his daughter’s body and turned to mechanics to save her. For five years, he slaved away to build an android body for her. It was a near perfect replica of the girl, right down to the creases in the skin and her eye colour all built from her DNA. The last step was to transplant the girl’s conscious and brain into the device.
? When she woke up, she didn’t hurt anymore. Her father was smiling joyously in the corner and she appeared to be in a hospital. Evelyn was told that after the ambush she had been taken to a hospital where she had been ‘fixed’. She knows nothing of the suit, nothing of the five years she spent in the freezer and thinks that she’s still completely human. She is a perfect living replica of her old self, but as an android.
? The rest of the party were told she had died and Evelyn travelled with her father until she was thrust back in time through a wormhole to what is effectively present day. Now she wanders space exploring and trying to get her hands on time travel technology. She’s an Indiana Jones type character, what with the adventuring and all. :3
Addition Medical Information:
? Her internal circuits enable her to speak nearly every known intergalactic language and means she is capable of hyper intelligence. The way she is programmed, she is almost ‘super-human’.
? Her ‘body’ can adapt itself to almost all atmospheric conditions and environments. She doesn’t actually have to breathe, but is programmed to do so anyway to retain human-like normalcy. The suit is able to withstand the extremes of pressure and temperature and can adapt in a matter of seconds.
? Evelyn’s skin is harder and more resistant to blows. The ‘suit’ will only malfunction when exposed to very high voltages of electricity and very strong magnetic waves. The body itself isn’t magnetic, but it can disrupt some of the components. She won’t ‘die’ per say, she’ll just shut down.
? Despite being an Android, she believes herself to be fully human and has no memory of the conversion.
