We are a small but welcoming group of Doctor Who enthusiasts that also share a love for Roleplay! We have members of all sorts of RP styles and levels of experience, so don't be shy if you're new! We all start somewhere!
As far as plot goes, it is fairly free reign, with the occasional structured event. Storylines range from Canon to Alternate Universe tellings and anywhere in between! Imagination is your only limitation with the possibilities!

09/19/2017 Mandatory Activity Checks are now a thing of the past!!
No one enjoys doing RP posts when it feels like a chore. So we are doing away with it completely. There are still some posting requirements, but we hope this will make things feel much more relaxed. Be sure to review our rules to get all the details.

"I have a son. Luke. Fine young man. And special. Like you." Oracle nodded listening reaching down and breaking apart the last bit of her tuna slowly regaining her appetite to finish off her food. “Lucky kid.”
"So? Are you just passing through then?” Oracle shook her head no “That’s a negative ghost rider I’m gonna try to stick around this time.” or at least that what she always told herself never seemed to turn out that way though.
Clearing her throat she started to open up slowly “The electricity I can control isn't something inherit in my species.” she paused for a second clearing her throat “It was a mutation.” she fidgeted a little, uncomfortable all the sudden in her jacket “Some people on earth…they can be cruel to a child who isn't from their planet.”
She was trying to distract herself so she didn’t freak out to the questions she figured Sarah Jane was dying to ask and Oracle figured, it would be good for her to finally address everything that happened. “What’d you say you did again?”

Sarah Jane's face shut down. Her mind was working that hard, and trying to function regardless of the shock she'd just had. Mouth soft open, eyes looking a bit bleak, she raised her detector watch again. She didn't bother with a reassuring glance, she was too busy with her own thoughts.
24 years old. She knew exactly where she'd been. Oh, not that single day she'd lost to fighting the Rani with her long lost Doctor. The long golden stretch of time she'd spent with him after that. He had warned her there would be consequences. That they were bending the laws of time to their cracking point. But she had been unwilling to leave him, and he had been unwilling to kick her out.
After all the promises she'd made before about staying on Earth, but she'd never imagined someone would pay a price besides herself. She blew out a slow breath between pursed lips. Then she remembered she had a face and started driving it again, examining Oracle closely. Searching for words, and she did not often need to search for words. As she finds the words, her brows pinch at the bleakness of them. The uselessness of them.
"I wish . . . so much . . . that that hadn't happened to you, Oracle. That is one of the most horrible things I've ever heard. That almost happened to my own son, but I got him out of there. There wasn't anyone to come looking for you, and it's not supposed to happen that way. Babies aren't meant to be thrust into the world unprotected."
Oracle drew small circles with her index finger on the table while she listened to Sarah Jane. She didn’t know how to respond to what the woman had said, sometimes, the emotions of humans eluded her understanding but she envied the species for them the range they had and how they could have empathy for another’s pain she found it interesting none the less. “It is what it is?”
She’d never seen any papers from the facility so she had no idea how many people, be they kids or whatever, had been in there with her she just knew when she left, she left with a bang. “I was mad once about it. Still am from time to time, that is only when what happened presents itself as a problem, but for the most part I’ve moved past it.” or so she kept telling herself.

The girl spoke from a depth she knew few had to learn to swim in. The sort of pressure that killed you or made you stranger. She had a penchant for survivors. The sort of people that didn't quit, that wouldn't stay down. No wonder the Doctor had been attracted to her above and beyond the sparky, spacey part.
She had a feeling she was only seeing the edge of the abyss. She leaned over the table, as if to get a better look at the depths, seeing only glimpses of them in Oracle's shy eyes. Eyes that often hid behind ribbons of her ginger hair. Sarah Jane felt a smile coming on.
"Well, I am mad about it right now. Very. Who are they Oracle? Where are they?"
When Sarah Jane leaned forward and looked at her, Oracle instinctively sat back in her side of the booth and for some reason the quote And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you. sprung to mind.
"Well, I am mad about it right now. Very. Who are they Oracle? Where are they?" Something clicked in Oracles mind she leaned forward slowly meeting Sarah Janes eyes with her own and very softly, “Stop.” there wasn’t any malice to her voice nor was she in anyway attempting to be intimidating but she had too much knowledge of how this would probably go if she let it continue and she’d be damned if she’d let people get hurt in anyway because of her.
She felt it was probably time to put this little get together to an end “I don’t mean to seem rude Sarah Jane but I think it may be time for me to go, thank you for the food and company.” she smiled a little and started to leave.“Mostly the company.”
She saw wariness fall over Oracle's eyes like a veil. It was something she wasn't used to. This young woman was not part of her Bannerman Street Gang, bright eyed and eager for the next words out of her mouth. This wasn't even someone who looked like they were in any sort of trouble.
What little she'd gleaned from Oracle still added up to a weed in her garden that she couldn't reach this instant, and it irritated her considerably. She gave a shake of her head, realizing she'd erred. Underestimated the young woman's complexity, even knowing what she did.
"Wait, Oracle, please. I'm enjoying the company as well. I am prone to some strident revenge on occasion, but it's not what I do. There is something you should know about me, just . . . .give me a few more moments to explain it to you." She implored.
"Wait, Oracle, please. she stopped as she started to get up from the table and looked at Sarah Jane “I'm enjoying the company as well. I am prone to some strident revenge on occasion, but it's not what I do. “Revenge, is or can be a very poisonous thing. If you’re not careful that is.”
“There is something you should know about me, just . . . .give me a few more moments to explain it to you." She sighed and looked at the door to portos again before sitting back were she had been and returning her attention to Sarah Jane “I’m listening.”

"Someday, Earth will be declared a class 3 planet by the Shadow Proclamation. . .it's sort of like joining the European Union of the Galaxy. To be ready for that, there are certain requirements, one of which is tracking the alien influences on this planet. Everything from repelling invasions to assisting stranded travelers. Four years before you were born, I took on the role of Protector of Earth." She waved a hand at how pretentious that sounded. "We both know I have help, but I'm the one who signed the papers."
She held up a finger to forestall Oracle whether she spoke or not, Sarah Jane Smith needed a moment to collect her thoughts. "In the months before you were born, there was a bit of a calamity here, a Time Lord called the Rani. It was dire enough that, well, the Doctor broke the laws of time to come in force, and to draw together all the Companions he could. I saw him with a face I hadn't seen in years. I begged him to take me with him for a while. He said it would twist the rules of time beyond imagination. That someday, there would be a price to pay." Her face fell. She squirmed a little, though this confession had been her idea.
"I think a price was paid all these years and I didn't even know. Oracle, when you crash landed -" She closed her eyes a moment, opened them filled with her regret, and found Oracle's eyes again.
"I should have found you. It was my duty, and i was not here."
"Thank you." Oracle turned her head to the side a little and nodded in a you’re welcome gesture and listened to Sarah Jane as she spoke.
She started to open her mouth to ask a question but promptly snapped her mouth shut when Sarah Jane held up a finger for her to wait, so she did and listened more. Oracle had never been one to be at a loss for words but she sat there for a moment or two certainly not able to come up with a single thing to say when Sarah Jane met her eyes.
"I should have found you. It was my duty, and I was not here." propping her elbows up on the table, lacing her fingers together, holding her sleeves so they didn’t fall down and leaning her head on them, looking out at the other patrons of the store while she thought of what to say.
Softly “You can’t save everyone Sarah Jane, duty or not.” she returned her full attention to the woman.
When she realized Oracle's first impulse was to try to help her feel better, she let out a low laugh and waved her off. Oh, the irony. It took her a moment to school her features, and meet Oracle's eyes again, twinkle still present. It mellowed into simple warmth.
"No no . . . .I'm fine. I've nearly destroyed Earth a few times, I've learned to get over my mistakes." Had she? Perhaps not. She could feel the burn in her middle, a desire to unravel what had happened to this girl and separate the goats from the sheep. That would have to wait.
"You were owed help. Are owed help simply for surviving." Her smile began to grow because she loved this part. "So what might you need Oracle? A car? A plane ticket somewhere? Rent for a flat? Answers? Want help finding whatever family you might have out there in the Universe? The bank isn't bottomless, my dear, but I think you'd be surprised how much I'm willing to bequeath you."

"So what might you need Oracle? A car? A plane ticket somewhere? Rent for a flat? Answers? Want help finding whatever family you might have out there in the Universe? The bank isn't bottomless, my dear, but I think you'd be surprised how much I'm willing to bequeath you. something inside her head almost physical broke and almost allowed the voices in her head to flood her brain. She almost let out a small sob escape but wrapped her arms around her midsection for a second slowly to regain her composure.
What Sarah Jane had just offered her, was something she couldn’t refuse, finally when she trusted herself to speak “As for car or plane ticket I can walk or use the vortex manipulator if I ever need to go somewhere,” she decided it would be best to keep the bit out about how the darn thing didn’t work half the bloody time so she moved on “I’ve been on my own since I was thirteen I can survive on my own so that’s not a problem.” but, she needed answers and to know if her family even existed anymore.
She didn’t know how to start to ask for help finding answers or family so she decided to just dive in with anything she could remember about it “I never knew my family, the only memoires I do have are those of a child. The grass,” she frowned a little and looked at the table trying to recall pictures she still saw in her dreams sometimes “White as snow or so I remember.” chewing on her lip she pushed her mind trying to remember anything “There were also temples, Gods they seemed so big.” looking up at Sarah Jane she realized to anyone else she’d have to sound like a complete nutter “There is one name they called me when I was younger, Varisneal I was told it had something to do with planet of origin.” she shrugged sure she’d probably seemed super crazy right now.

She wondered if Oracle knew how much she gave away with her face. Sarah Jane thought maybe it was just how much time she was spending with young people lately, but she could tell what she said lit a spark as she had hoped it would. She had to hold in a bit of a laugh as she saw Oracle's opinion about her own Vortex Manipulator. Part of her was tempted to get her hands on that gadget and disable it, but the Doctor would have done so if it seemed necessary. Then a defensive pride crossed her face as she mentioned 13 years.
13 years old. Sarah Jane's amusement melted like a snowflake in the sun. At 13 she hadn't even been able to iron her own school set. The look on Oracle's face as she spoke of what she could remember of her past made Sarah Jane think that maybe, just maybe, she could make some small amend for having not been there when she crashed. They'd bent her. Scarred her perhaps, but Oracle was far from broken. Sarah Jane listened carefully, remembering every word.
"I think we can find you some answers, Oracle." She gave her a reassuring smile, feeling confident herself. The girl remembered much.
She took out a piece of paper and started writing "13 Bannerman Road" on it, intending to invite her to meet Mr.Smith tomorrow, but hesitated. This sudden aquaintence truly had the look of a true traveler around her.
"Are you . . . are you staying somewhere, Oracle? Somewhere safe?" How did one ask such a clearly independent little cuss if she was homeless or not?
"I think we can find you some answers, Oracle." She nodded a little “That’s all I ask if you’re offering.” she smiled and looked out at the customers in the sandwich joint.
She noted out of the corner of her eye that Sarah Jane started to write something on a piece of paper but stopped "Are you . . . are you staying somewhere, Oracle? Somewhere safe?" she returned her attention to Sarah Jane and stopped for a second thinking on how to answer.
It surprised her how easily it came to her to lie “Yes.” truth was she’d learned how to get onto almost any roof and usually slept on them if she couldn’t find a comfy enough tree.

Sarah Jane didn't buy it for a moment. Why not? Oracle clearly understood her and was not outraged. It didn't seem to surprise her that Sarah Jane had basically just accused her of being homeless. It was all too telling, no matter how casual the ginger managed to make it seem. Oh, she was good. But Sarah Jane was older.
"Look. Oracle. My son, Luke, is off at camp." She gave a little wave of her hand. "I have a guest room besides that. It would be helpful to me to have you near. We could to quite a bit more research if I have you handy." From her shirt, she fished out a simple link-and-ball steel necklace. On it hung a TARDIS key.

Oracle sighed and looked at the table again she’d been told a few times that she was a piss poor liar which she found funny due to her current profession.
Oracle looked at the TARDIS key when Sarah Jane pulled it out of her shirt "My credentials." slowly she reached out and gently ran a finger over the key “I don’t doubt your credentials one bit Sarah Jane.” sitting back in booth Oracle looked at Sarah Jane for a second before nodding a little “It’s just, I don’t sleep a lot and when I do I either wake up screaming or I can’t control the electricity and shit ends up fried.” she thought about it for a moment longer “But, if you think it will help I’ll take you up on your offer.”
