Kora ignored Mica's question and stared at the man, deciding what to do with him first. The sound of the metallic footsteps got closer and closer. "Get up. Now." She said to the man in a lowered voice. "And get behind us." Kora didn't want to risk arming him. He could be a spy of the cybermen. A trap. Maybe the cybermen thought they would sympathize with him, and tell him...well, if the cybermen wanted information, they'd have gotten it by now...But what information?
The metallic footsteps were close and the anticipation was too much to handle. "Mica. We're not fighting now. Not yet." The man began to tremble even more and his face was as pale as the moon...well, moons. Kora holstered her gun and shoved the man forward, looking back at Mica. She looked back to the man, shoving him against the wall. "Where is the nearest hiding spot?" The man blubbered and sobbed illegible words. Kora slapped him across the face and whispered sharply. "WHERE...IS...THE NEAREST..HIDING SPOT?!" The man pointed to a small trap door, about two feet from him.
Kora looked at Mica, then at the trap door. The cybermen were almost in front of them. With two choices: Fight or flight. It was time to flee. Kora lifted the heavy trap door and pushed the man in, who shrieked, but landed on the floor of the room safely.
She jumped in herself, looking up through the small doorway, at Mica. "Hurry up!"
Mica hastily put her gun back in her pack pack and followed Kora down the trap door. Mica closed the hatch quickly and then used the flash light on her screwdriver" is everyone ok?" she asks ignoring the man's groans "I'm slightly in pain" He replies with a groan before getting up. Mica looks around at the place "where are we" The man dusts himself off and looks at Kora and Mica "this is part of the secret passages" he replies "follow me" he starts down a winding tunnel. Mica looks at Kora "should we follow him? I mean we have no clue where we are and how to maneuver through the place with out him " she asks Kora hoping she agrees with her.
Kora was always stubborn. Stubborn at birth. She also had trust issues. It was....A habit, you could say. I mean, why would people trust each other? That's a way to get yourself killed. Life was...About survival and fun. And 'trust' wasn't in the survival guide. It wouldn't be fun to die, either.
When the man began to wander off, she, of course, didn't follow. But Mica had made a good point. They couldn't get out without the man...But he might also get them killed. It'd be a...harder decision.
Un-responding for a few minutes, she had made her decision. "We'll follow him...But if he tries anything, anything at all, I will kill him. If he lies, I will hurt him so badly, he'd wish I would kill him. If he screws up, I'll shoot him in the knee." Kora hissed. Her eyebrows were knitted with frustration. The metallic footsteps had passed over them. The man began to walk farther.
Kora ran up and tackled him. She pulled him up by the arm and glared at him. "You will NEVER get more than two feet in front of either of us. Do you understand? And I hope you heard our conversation earlier. I WILL kill you if you try anything." She whispered sharply to him. The man nodded meekly. "Y-yes, I understand, ma'am..." He replied with a small tremble in his voice.
"Good...Now you're gonna lead the way out of this place." Kora shoved him forward with her gun to his back, not caring to look back for Mica.
Mica stared at Kora in somewhat awe...She had never heard another person have that way of thinking other than her father...how she missed him but him and Kora had their points if they they trusted a person they would end up possibly i n a worse situation or dead. Mica shook her head clear and followed behind Kora assault rifle in hand. After walking for a couple of minutes the man stopped in front of them causing Kora and Mica to run into each other "OW what the hell?" Mica whispers in anger due to the fact that she just smacked herself with the gun. "SHH" she man says as he points up above them. Mica looked up at the ceiling and cringed. Crystal Bats.
Kora hadn't been paying attention and was drifting off. "Ow!" She almost flung herself over the man's shoulder. "What the hell was that?!" She shouted angrily. The man shushed her, and pointed to crystal bats.
"Oh, screw the bats. Don't stall. Is there something you didn't want to show us?" She hissed. The man fiddled with his fingers and muttered something to himself. "N-No...There's n-nothing I don't want you two b-beautiful young ladies t-to see..." The man stuttered constantly and kept trying to change the subject back to the bats.
"NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE BATS. NOW LEAD THE WAY!" Kora shouted at the top of her lungs, and fired her handgun at the top of the tunnel, startling the bats. "Oh, this is just WONDERFUL...RUN!!!"
Mica duckes her head and runs for her life from the bats "DAMNIT KORA IF WE MAKE IT OUT ALIVE I'M GONNA THROTTLE YOU!" she yells while running through the cave dodging the bats as they swoop toward their heads. She stares at the man running in front of him. She still did not trust this guy for the life of her and obviously neither did Kora. They ran for what felt like hours til the bats had disappeared. Mica stops and catches her breath while looking at the man "Are you POSITIVE your telling us evreything?"
Kora laughed hysterically while running, it wasn't exactly...fun...But it was an adventure..Something she hadn't had in a long time... A REAL adventure.
Kora ran as hard as she could and stopped when the bats seemed to have vanished. She caught her breathe, her chest burning and her legs sore. With a sigh, she asked the man again. "Are. You. Telling. Us. Everything?" The man seemed completely out of breathe and collapsed on the floor. Kora , still catching her breathe, hands on her knees, turned to Mica. "You okay?" Kora smiled meekly. "Still gonna throttle me?"
Mica stares at Kora "I'm just peachy I always wanted to run from CRYSTAL BATS! and I might its still up in the air but right now we need to deal with him" she replies while pointing to the man in annoyance. She hated being lied to so if it turned out he was withholding information that they need she was going to pull a weeping angel on the man and snap his neck. Mica pulled the man onto his feet before grabbing him b the collar of his robes and slamming him to the wall "ANSWER ME?!" she yelled. The man winced and held up his hands defensibly "OK OK I Lied about being the ruler I brought the cybermen here to help me take over the kingdom but my plan backfired and they turned on me...I was not lying about needing your help to get rid of them im sorry please please PLEASE dont kill me!!" he bellowed. Mica stared at him in shock before looking at Kora "We'll deal with his idiocy later right now we need to get the Cybermen out of here for good" she says while reaching in her bacg and grabing some rope and tying the mans hands and torso up with a little left to use as a leash "I'll let you go when we get to the other people and destroy the Cybermen...then its your turn I DONT LIKE BEING LIED TO" she says cocking her gun "now lets go!" she says pushing the man to move forward.
Kora holstered her gun and shoved it in her back pocket, muttering to herself. She leaned over as they walked and whispered to Mica, "Why the hell are we dragging around this dead weight? We don't need him anymore...Plus, he lied. What makes you think he won't grab his first chance of leaving us and escaping, leaving us for dead? We can just kill him now, and save us both the trouble of dealing with him..."
Kora turned around, hearing whispers and light sounds of laughter...There were shadows on the walls of the cave, in every direction. Some of the voices seemed nice...And some of them seemed like they wanted to skin them and drink their blood...
"Mica...Do you hear that..?" Kora whispered sharply. "C'mon, kill him now, we can run without worrying about him...And I say we can run, 'cause, well..." She pointed at the shadows, leaping across the walls, seeming to be more than just whispers.
Mica ponders the question while walking behind the still whimpering man the nozzle of her gun planted solely against his spin ready to fire at one misplaced step he took. She was just as angry Kora was about being lied to and just as ready to shoot the man with no remorse. Yet she let him live..did she decide to give him one more shot..no in her mind she felt he was still of some use...for now. She whispers back to Kora "Trust me nothing would satisfy me more than to jam a shit load of bullets into this idiots back but something still doesn't feel right about this cave and if I'm right....he's going to make good bait" she smiles at the last part of that sentence before hearing what sounded like laughter in the dark. The sound chilled her to the very core before turning at the sound of Kora again asking her to kill him before pointing to the leaping shadows. "I heard them, and as for the last part..." Mica replies as she tugged on the rope of the man and slung him into the vast amount of shadows before grabbing Kora's hand "Run!" she yells while running as fast as she could pulling Kora with her. The last thing they heard was the mans terrified screams before sounds of shredding echoed through the cave. Mica ran with Kora until she couldn't see those shadow beings anymore. "Well good news is ...no more lying nimrod...Bad news...we're now stuck in a cave with no guide, a bunch of strange being are after us , oh and lets not forget the CYBERMEN ABOVE US!" she whispers sharply to Kora before calming down. "I...I'm sorry i didn't mean to sound so harsh....nasty trait i get from my mother..." she says while resting of a rock shaped diamond "we need to find away out of here...and a way to get those cybermen off this planet any suggestions?" she asks Kora while searching her backpack to see if she had something for them to eat.&n
As Kora turned around once again to see the man being ripped to shreds by something seeming to be thin air, she was running alongside Mica again. She'd never seen anything so gruesome. His flesh...The pain and despair on his face as he tried to escape the creature's grasp...His screams of help and agony...
Kora shuddered, trying to rip the gaze of her eyes from the dead man in front of her. Once the shadows were out of sight, she staggered toward the wall and slid down into a weak sitting position. She was worn, tired, and shocked. Kora talked about killing another as a simple task and it'd be easy to do it...But that was out of anger. She put her head in her hands and tried to shake the image of it out of her head. But of course someone doesn't just forget something like that. It'd haunt the person.
Kora peeked out through her fingers and stared at her. She could've sworn Mica had said something, but it sounded like a murmur that wasn't meant for anyone else to hear. The sounds around her faded. Everything was quiet. "I...We just need to..." She had no ideas. None at all...
Mica ran her hands through her hair and with a big sigh turned to look at Kora. Once again she let her anger along with Kora's anger cloud her better judgement and she had killed a man. It wasn't like she hadn't killed before but this was different. Even though the man lied he was still an innocent person.
she looked at Kora who was peeking through her hands before placing a hand on Kora's shoulder gently. "Kora?....Are you alright?" she asked her. Of course she wasn't alright she was in shock about what just happened. Mica frowns and tries to find the words to tell Kora it was going to be alright "I..I'm sorry you saw that....I let my anger get the best of me and killed someone who was still innocent." she manages before her voice cracks from the guilt in her hearts. "I guess my dad was right..." she said with her voice still cracking"I have my mothers 'kill first, regret later' attitude" she finishes , her voice now at a slightly lower pitch to keep it from cracking. "We need to get the Cybermen off this planet..we need to fix that mans mistake before more people are killed or worse...converted" she says to Kora with a grave tone hoping she some how got through to the shocked woman.
Kora nodded slowly. "...It was sort of my idea, so.." She shrugged and stood up. She started pacing around awkwardly. "If I pace around it'll give me a good idea. I saw this in a movie once."
Kora stopped. "I have a good idea." She stroked her imaginary beard."We should...RUN AROUND AND LOOK FOR A WAY OUT!" Kora ran back into the dark as if nothing bad would possibly happen. Bad idea.
Mica watches as Kora paces and strokes her imaginary beard. She looked back at the dark hall and then blinks from shock when she sees Kora run into it. "KORA!" she yelled as she ran after Kora trying to get her out of there before anything bad actually does happen.
