Torchwood. Blue had mixed feelings about the organization. The Jinn were considered a fairly dangerous species despite their normal neutrality towards the humans. Being a Djinn, therefore, naturally meant that an organization that was bound and determined to keep threats to humans at bay would be keeping a general eye in his direction. He had often gone to Torchwood to request for help when he needed it, and he’d been the Djinn of several Time Lords, so Blue was rather acquainted with it. Unfortunately.
It was one of his few excursions to Cardiff that he saw one of the members of Torchwood – Ian? Edgar? – chasing around a huge flaming bird in a park. Blue sat cross-legged on one of the picnic tables, watching curiously. He knew phoenixes by definition – he’d never seen one in real life, and to be honest, he had never really believed that they were a real creature. The Djinn stepped closer, taking another look around the empty park and back to the phoenix that was evading capture.
“Need help?” he called, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he tilted his head.
Phoenixes were creatures that were very fascinating and, up until earlier, Ianto had thought they were simply a myth. But, about half an hour ago, Ianto had spotted one and instantly known what it was, because of how he'd heard it described. And of course, he'd wanted to capture it because...well, it was a phoenix. He wanted to examine it, really, that was all. That and perhaps Torchwood would have a use for it. But there was no way he'd ever find that out unless he could catch the bloody thing, and that was something that was proving very difficult. He had a cage nearby that he could put it in, but he couldn't catch it currently. He sighed in frustration as he stared up at the creature, which was quite happily (and perhaps tauntingly, Ianto thought to himself bitterly) flying in circles around him. A huff left Ianto's lips and he continued trying to catch the blasted creature. That was, until he heard someone calling to him. The voice was somewhat familiar. He stopped pursuing the phoenix, scowling up at it briefly, before turning towards the voice.
The person who had spoken was a Djinn, one that had been acquainted with Torchwood a few times. Ianto couldn't remember the name; he only knew it was a color. Red? Yellow? Green? None of them sounded right, but he had no time to dwell on it any longer. He looked up at the phoenix, then at the Djinn. He did need help, and there wasn't much time to waste. So why not? He nodded, a rather sheepish look on his face as he did. "Yes, please." he said, not forgetting his manners despite his irritated mood (though that was the phoenix's fault.) "I think I need all the help I can get catching this thing." he added, glaring up at the phoenix again.
