A ghostly shadow reflected from the water’s surface and the air was filled with a penetrating hum. Nearby trees vibrated and a flock of birds flew for dear life as their fear took over and their instincts for survival went into overdrive. A whisper of metal against the highest of tree tops could be heard here and there as the shadow progressed across the areas and then finally buildings came into view as it continued onward. Finally it came to a stop above a rather large rooftop. For a moment the unseen presents hovered and then silence.
“I hope I can remember where I parked,” Jenny said into the virtual silence of the cockpit of the Infinite Improbability with a grin as she practically leapt from her seat and made her way to the ships hatch. According to the ships readings of the planet, it was the most inhabited place she had ever come across. The airwaves her buzzing with unfamiliar sounds and the environmental readings promised a world teaming with various forms of life.
With a metallic click and a grinding noise the hatch opened and Jenny stepped out into the night. Loud music pounded from somewhere nearby and as she turned to close up the ship sirens wailed from somewhere below her. Quietly she walked over to the edge of the building and looked down as several vehicles and their occupants converged on a building across the motorized transit path. She pulled back and started looking around to find a way to access the lower levels. She found it in a pipe fixed to the side of the building. Carefully she used her hands and feet to climb down several stories before making a leap to a large and rather smelly metal block (trash dumpster). She landed with a rather loud bang before jumping off and dashing into a narrow passage way.
Walking around she came to the same motorized transit path that she had viewed from above, she also noticed a crowd gathering, a crowd of people that looked much like her, close enough in fact to easily blend in. So she did so. Slipping into the crowd to watch and wait and see what everyone was gawking at.
