Blue frowned as Mattie caught his sleeve. Did the human actually think he was being ridiculous for not wanting to be in the way? He shifted uncomfortably, his eyes trained on the small hand. How old was Mattie? “What sort of master… er… friend would I be if I put you outside like some stray dog?” the young man demanded, and Blue shrugged his shoulders, deciding that this was probably what humans considered to be a ‘rhetorical’ question. And he certainly wasn’t going to bring up the fact he’d been sleeping in the park – in the form of a dog, no less.
“It really wouldn’t bother me, Mattie. I don’t want to put you out. And anyway, I can just stay in the Lamp,”
“Stay here with me, won’t you, Bleu?” he asked, and Blue’s cheeks colored, a combination from the request – which was a second wish, really – and the pronunciation of his name. The cat rubbed along Blue’s arm, and the Djinn startled. She kneaded into his leg and he stared up at Mattie in horror.
He held his hands to his chest as the cat continued clamoring all over him and making strange noises. “I broke her! I’m sorry!” he apologized, flustered. He’d taken the form of a cat various times, but he had never tried to give someone a massage or made those strange engine-esque noises for someone.
Mattie smiled at him, throwing Blue into even more confusion. “She’s usually so shy. That settles it, you have to stay!” Mattie demanded, rolling on his side.
Blue’s frown flickered into a small smile, eventually growing wider as he stood up. “Of course, ‘friend’,” he said politely, bowing and grinning at the human. “Your wish is my command.” He sat on the edge of the bed, still feeling slightly awkward about being so close to his new master. His fingers trailed to his lips as he thought about Mattie’s kiss, and he wondered if the young man kissed every stranger he met.
The human’s chuckle caught his attention, and he looked back up, his head tilted. “I have a very comfortable couch. You don’t have to lay with me if it’s too strange for you. Wait… do Djinn sleep?”
Blue lied on the bed, staring up at the human’s ceiling. “We don’t have to. I do, because it passes the time. I get bored without a mas… without a friend, so I’m glad you tripped over me,” Blue said. “And I want to stay with you, because you’re sick. What if you need a glass of water in the middle of the night? Or what if you roll out of bed? Or what if a psychotic homicidal maniac comes through the bedroom wielding a chainsaw rigged with…with guns!”
He nodded, and looked at Mattie solemnly. “That’s what I’m here for, you know. Whether you need a glass of water or for me to eviscerate maniacs.”
Princess rubbed along Blue’s arm, and kneaded into his leg and he stared up at Mattie in horror. Mattie couldn't help but laugh at the poor man's reaction as his cat tried to get some affection from Blue. “I broke her! I’m sorry!” he apologized, “She's fine! She's telling you she likes you!” Mattie assured him “She’s usually so shy. That settles it, you have to stay!” Mattie demanded, rolling on his side. Poor blue's reaction to Princes nearly had Mattie in tears trying not to laugh at him.
Blue lied on the bed, staring up at the human’s ceiling. “I want to stay with you, because you’re sick.” Mattie's eyes brows raised curiously. Had it become so obvious? “What if you need a glass of water in the middle of the night? Or what if you roll out of bed? Or what if a psychotic homicidal maniac comes through the bedroom wielding a chainsaw rigged with…with guns!” He nodded, and looked at Mattie solemnly. “That’s what I’m here for, you know. Whether you need a glass of water or for me to eviscerate maniacs.”
Mattie was silent for a moment as he pondered Blue's words. He almost made it sound like Blue expected Mattie to treat him like some servant. Had his life really been so harsh that he expected to same bleak treatment from everyone? Mattie's nose scrunched up as he then made up his mind that he was going to be the best friend he possibly could to Blue. He scooted closer to Blue and rested his head to the man's shoulder and chuckled. “Oh dont worry about me. I think it's time someone looked after you for a change, Bleu.” he said as he leaned over and touched a kiss to the tip of Blue's nose, before rolling onto his side, putting his back to Blue. His body was still snugged up against Blue's.
Princess had found a comfortable spot between the two of them, right behind the bend of Mattie's knees.. It was then that Genie made his appearance. The dark blue/gray cat hopped op on the edge of the bed and just glared at the two of them, his tail flicking with obvious annoyance. Genie let out a low yowl to say “My bowl is empty, you useless human..” Princess picked up her head and gently stretched, licking her paw and looked to the other cat “Oh dont be such a ruffian. Cant you see the poor darling is exhausted? Besides, You could stand to miss a meal or two.” Mattie, obviously not understanding what Genie wanted slowly sat up and smiled at the gray cat “Oh.. There you are! I was wondering where you have gone to. Genie, Princess. Meet Bleu!”
Princess, being the rather snooty animal that she was, stretched and swished her tail with an air of dignified elegance “A pleasure, I'm sure” Genie only scoffed and hopped off the edge of the bed and sauntered out of the room “So long as Fluffy here knows how to fill a bowl, I dont care” Mattie chuckled and looked at Blue “Well, Genie didn’t try to bite you. That's a good sign, oui?”
Blue’s cheeks flushed as he realized that Mattie was laughing at him. He recoiled from the cat, crossing his arms defensively as he looked down at the human. “She’s fine! She’s telling you she likes you!” Mattie told him. Blue shook his head stubbornly and looked at the cat distrustfully. What kind of creature sounded like a rumbling motorcycle, and yet was as soft as unspun silk? It just sounded suspicious to him. He sighed and nodded as Mattie ‘demanded’ that he stay there – the human was too nice to demand anything, he suspected, but at least it gave Blue an excuse not to leave.
He laid himself down in the bed and looked up at the ceiling, occasionally looking over to Mattie curiously. He noted the curious expression on Mattie’s face when he mentioned he was sick, and he felt the heat rise to his face again. Wasn’t it obvious the human was sick? Healthy humans didn’t take medication. And healthy humans didn’t get strange nosebleeds or nearly pass out after taking medicine. Blue rambled about chainsaw wielding maniacs who wanted to disembowel Mattie, wishing the human would interrupt him and tell him to shut up.
Instead, Mattie just laid there, watching him. Blue shut his mouth sheepishly. The human scooted over to him and rested his shoulder on him. Blue averted his eyes, embarrassed by the close contact. “Mattie…”
“Oh don’t worry about me. I think it’s time someone looked after you for a change, Bleu,” Mattie told him. Blue smiled at the nickname. He felt Mattie’s lips on his skin again, and his energy began squirming uncomfortably again, heating up around him. He took a deep breath, sighing shakily as Mattie rolled away from him.
He watched Mattie, feeling tempted to run his fingers across the human’s skin or hair. His fingers twitched, so Blue curled his hands into fists. “That’s not how it should be. You’re my master, Matthieu… so you can’t look after me. It’s my job to worry about it. That’s who my people are. We live to make our masters happy,” Blue said, biting his lip and running his hand down Mattie’s arm. “That’s what I think, anyway. Some jinn hate the humans. I find you fascinating,” he continued thoughtfully. “I mean… how you can be wicked and yet the best creatures I’ve ever known. It’s beautiful.”
Blue glanced down at the cat nestled between them. He still wasn’t sure how he felt about the whole ordeal with the purring engine and silken fur. He was even less sure when the other cat glared at him. “My bowl is empty, you useless human.”
“He isn’t!” Blue argued, his cheeks flushed as he tried to defend Mattie’s honor.
“Oh don’t be such a ruffian,” the cat from earlier replied, licking her paw daintily. “Can’t you see the poor darling is exhausted? Besides, you could stand to miss a meal or two.”
Blue tilted his head. “She’s right, you know. He is exhausted…” He looked at Mattie contemplatively, wondering if he’d be allowed to envelop the human in a hug. He certainly felt like it…
“Oh… there you are! I was wondering where you have gotten to. Genie, Princess. Meet Bleu!”
Blue stared at him. Why wasn’t he responding to the blue cat’s insults? He shifted nervously, looking at Mattie. “A pleasure, I’m sure,” the polite lady cat told him. Blue nodded at her, then looked up as the male cat began to speak. “So long as Fluffy here knows how to fill a bowl, I don’t care.”
He bristled. “My name isn’t Fluffy!” he insisted, glaring. “And anyway, I know how to do a lot of things that you can’t do! Opposable thumbs!” Blue said triumphantly, wriggling his thumbs victoriously.
“Well, Genie didn’t try to bite you. That’s a good sign, oui?”
Blue frowned. “No. Weren’t you listening? He doesn’t like me.” He’d spent a lot of time with cats and he didn’t quite realize that humans couldn’t hear them.
Mattie tilted his head at Blue curiously when the man practically shrieked that his cat was bad mouthing him. Mattie was still trying to wrap his brain around the fact that Blue was not a human. That he was a Djinn and that there was probably thousands of things he could do that Mattie couldn't. Being able to speak to and understand cats must have been one of them. Princess trilled softly to Blue as she licked her back paw clean, splaying out her toes to get that rough tongue in between her toes. “I dont think the darling understands us, Sir Blue”. Oh she was a prissy thing, wasn’t she. Sir Blue. The cat seemed to muse to herself how fitting it seemed for the djinn. Cats were wise creatures and she knew from the moment he came home with Blue that he was different. Special.
“But he manages, despite our language barriers. He is a wise and loving master.” Mattie reached down to caress the cat behind her ears and Princess happily leaned her head into Mattie's caress, a soft purr rumbling from her. Mattie pondered Blue's words for a moment and then chuckled “I guess I dont know my cats as well as I thought I did, ouais?” smiling up at Blue, softly. He actually felt a lot better since laying down. The particular medication he was on made it difficult to do much anything. He suddenly felt a pang of guilt in his chest as he looked to Blue. He really should tell him. But it was such a downer to talk about. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized it was the same as lying by not telling him and Mattie liked to think of himself as an honest person. He gently sat up and turned to face Blue, sitting cross legged on the bed.
He avoided eye contact for a moment, not sure how to phrase it. It was a serious matter so he couldn’t come across as 'cheerful' about it.. that was just creepy. But Mattie just shook his head and decided to just say it. “You're right, Bleu.. I am sick..” His finally lifted his head to meet eyes with the djinn. Princess mewed softly, pawing his knee gently is a kind of 'I'm here for you' sort of way. It was obvious that Princess was very fond of her human. Mattie smiled feeling the paw and gently ran his fingers through the cat's soft fur. It made him feel a little more secure about the situation. “I have a tumor.. Here” he lifted his hand to rest at the back side of his head. The area of the brain that handles balance and motor function as well as his vision.
“It.. doesn’t hurt or anything. But.. Getting around can be bothersome.” he shrugged softly. He didn’t want to show that he was upset by this fact but despite his bright smile, his eyes showed the deep sadness in regard to the situation. His cheeks flushed slightly and he offered a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of his head slightly. “That's why.. I wouldn't wish for partners.. I wouldnt be able to...” he cleared his throat with an odd chuckle. Blue was the first person he'd ever told besides his mother and sister. And while it was strange, spilling all this out to someone who was practically a stranger, he felt relieved. He couldn't explain it but.. He trusted Blue. “So.. There you go. OH but dont be sad or anything! I still have a few years to enjoy life and set my affairs in order.”
“I don’t think the darling understands us, Sir Blue,” the cat said daintily. Sir Blue? He looked at her, puzzled. She was certainly a precocious little kitten, wasn’t she? Blue smiled. Even if she was a little odd and even if she did confuse him, Blue figured that good company was good company. He looked over at Mattie and, as the cat pointed out, the human seemed very confused. Confused… but he wasn’t staring at Blue like he was mad. “But he manages,” the cat continued, and Blue felt the urge to be close to Mattie again, so he shifted closer a little, “despite our language barriers. He is a wise and loving master.”
Could the cat tell that he was a djinn? “Princess…?” he asked, and glanced over at Mattie sheepishly as the human began to rub the cat. There were a thousand and one questions that he wanted to ask about his new owner – and if there were any honest and blunt creature, it was a cat. But he couldn’t ask them in front of Mattie. He couldn’t. Princess trusted him, and even Genie had seemed fond enough of the human. He wouldn’t hurt Blue. He wouldn’t. A wise and loving master… The memory of Mattie pressing a kiss to his lips returned, and Blue cleared his throat to keep his thoughts from straying.
“I guess I don’t know my cats as well as I thought I did, ouais?” Mattie said, smiling up at him. Blue shrugged and looked at his hands, slightly embarrassed that he made the man have to reevaluate his understanding of his cats. But it was a silly thing to feel guilty for.
“Maybe not,” he responded, looking back at the man with a small smile. “But I think they’ve got you pretty well-pegged, Matthieu,” Blue decided. A wise and loving master. The Djinn grinned to himself, but it fell when he saw the expression on Mattie’s face. He moved away, recoiling. Maybe Mattie didn’t like him? He certainly seemed cheerful right before he had mentioned that the cats knew him quite well. Maybe it was because he’d called him Matthieu! “Mattie!” Blue said forcefully, trying to correct his mistake.
And now Mattie wasn’t even making eye contact. Blue felt sorely tempted to turn into a piece of lint and hide under the bed. “You’re right, Bleu,” Mattie said eventually. Blue frowned and tilted his head. “I am sick…” Mattie lifted his head and met Blue’s eyes. Well of course the human was sick – healthy humans didn’t take medicine, did they? Princess meowed and pawed at his knee. “I have a tumor…Here. It doesn’t hurt or anything. But… Getting around can be bothersome,” Mattie told him.
Blue stared at him, silently. He knew what tumors were – they were caused by an abnormal growth in tissue. Sometimes they could be fatal. He knew a lot of things that way; cold, impersonal, and scientific. “But… I don’t know…” Blue trailed off, confused. He knew the word and he knew the science, but he couldn’t imagine it applied. Especially not applied to the beautiful, cheerful, and unearthly-kind Mattie.
“That’s why… I wouldn’t wish for partners… I wouldn’t be able to…” Mattie seemed embarrassed now, and he cleared his throat and chuckled. Blue stared at him, still confused. What? Why wouldn’t he wish for a partner? Partners were excellent to ward off loneliness weren’t they? Blue shifted closer, watching the human closely. The frown seemed out of place and frightening on Mattie’s lips, and Blue stared at him. What…? “So… there you go. OH but don’t be sad or anything! I still have a few years to enjoy life and set my affairs in order.”
Blue swallowed and shook his head quickly. “ A few years?” he repeated. A few? “I… No, that’s not enough time. Not for you,” he argued, getting frustrated. He was over a million years old and the concept of death was strange and there but it hadn’t wrapped around Blue yet. “Just… just wish for it to go away. Right?” he pressed, putting his hand on Mattie’s other knee and resting his hand tentatively on Princess. “I just want to help…”
He felt a little stirring of guilt in his stomach. He’d been teasing Mattie over not wanting a partner and it was because of a tumor. Blue removed the hand from his knee and squirmed uncomfortably.
“So… there you go. OH but don’t be sad or anything! I still have a few years to enjoy life and set my affairs in order.”
Blue repeated his words, almost numbly and Mattie lifted those soft brown eyes to look up at his new found friend.. “ A few years?... I… No, that’s not enough time. Not for you,” he argued. . “Just… just wish for it to go away. Right?” Mattie looked at Blue almost shocked. Sure, the thought had occurred to him when he was first diagnosed that he'd been willing to do anything to undo the terrible news. There had even been a brief period where he'd seriously given thought to ending his life before a tumor cut it off for him. But that was the act of a coward. Mattie might not have been particularly heroic, but he was certainly no coward. “Bleu...” he replied softly after a short moment of silence. “I just want to help…” Mattie smiled and closed his eyes for a moment. Maybe Blue had the skills to save his life.. But then.. what about the others out there like him? Men and women, young and old. How could he place the value of his life above theirs? “You can help me, Bleu. Stay with me, tolerate me. Even though I'm clumsy and a terrible cook.”
He gently placed his hand to Blue's cheek to turn the man's eyes to meet his. “Because.. Bleu.. Look at me, mon ami” He then had the djinn's face warmly cradled in both hands so Blue couldn’t look away from him “Life.. no matter how long or short.. Every moment is a precious. It's what we do with the time we have, that makes our lives worth while.” He felt a little silly sounding like some sort of.. what would you call it.. a philosopher? He normally kept these thoughts to himself because most people disregarded him as some 'hopeless romantic hippie'. But with this man sitting beside him, in his own bed, showing such care for him. He felt a strange bond with Blue he couldn't explain.
Now that Blue was here with him, it was as though Blue had always been with him. Like a childhood friend he had lost touch with, suddenly together again and picking up where they left off as if they had never parted. Princess looked to the two of them and her brilliant glimmering eyes seemed to smile to Blue, as though Mattie's words confirmed her claim that he was a benevolent man. She stood to stretch and gently hopped off the bed, moving with such stealth, not even the little silver bell that dangled from her collar made a sound. She trotted on her dainty little toes out of the room and down the hall.
Rain began to softly patter against the windows and Mattie softly closed his eyes, leaning into Blue's body. He was so caught up in how happy he felt, that he had lost track of what the rest of him was doing. Mattie shuddered a soft sigh and let his lips just barely brush against the man's flesh, hands slowly trailing from Blue's cheeks and into his hair, feeling the soft silken curls of his hair in his fingers before folding his arms around Blue's shoulders. “And I live my life.. Happy.. and full of love. I dont regret that I'm dying.. It has made me see how lucky I really am. I'm only nineteen, and I am such a blessed man.”
“You can help me, Bleu,” Matthieu said. Blue straightened immediately, offering the human his widest smile. He would help his master in any way he could! And it wasn’t only because the man was his new owner, and it wasn’t just because Blue, despite his attempts to separate himself from emotions, aimed desperately to please. Mattie was as good a human as any. Right? He had gotten a cat to admit that he was wise and loving. Cats just didn’t hang out compliments that. He wriggled his fingers at his sides, preparing himself to rid Mattie of all inflictions. “Stay with me, tolerate me. Even though I’m clumsy and a terrible cook.”
He blinked. Blue stared at him, dumbfounded. He’d offered him life and the human had turned him down? Mattie just wanted someone who would be there for him? Tolerate him? He swallowed thickly and nodded. “No… I mean… yes, is what I meant… but…” Well, what a way to sound intelligible. He took a moment to gather his thoughts before clearing his throat and trying the whole ‘speaking’ thing over again. “I don’t want you to die. And I don’t care if you’re clumsy or if you can’t cook. I’ll take care of you, so… so why won’t you let me?”
He lowered his head, staring down at his hands. Why would someone refuse his help? He was going to die, and he wouldn’t let someone help him. A warm hand cupped his cheek and turned his head gently. “Because…” Mattie began. He moved his head stubbornly, trying not to look in Mattie’s eyes. “Bleu.. look at me, mon ami,” Mattie said, and Blue tentatively shook his head ‘no’, not wanting to think too deeply about why the impending death of this human had shaken him so much. But Mattie took his face in his hands, so Blue looked into his eyes obediently. “Life… no matter how long or short… every moment is precious. It’s what we do with the time we have, that makes our lives worth while.”
Blue stared at him silently. He had lived for over a million years, and he had long since stopped thinking life was something special. It was just a tedious cycle. “It isn’t fair, is it? I’ve lived for far too long. I’d switch places with you in an instant if only you’d ask,” Blue told him, looking down at the space between them. His hands were twitching uselessly in his lap. Princess left, and he felt a sudden anxiety at being alone with the human in his bed. Especially with the way Mattie’s hands were making his head feel slightly dizzy. “I like the way you speak,” Blue decided, touching Mattie’s lip with his fingers. “I like your words, your accent, and your sincerity. It’s… refreshing. You are. I like that.”
He looked over to the window as the rain began to fall. It felt a little rush of gratitude that Mattie had let him sleep in his home – in his bed. He let his hand fall from Mattie’s lips, realizing belatedly that was probably extremely awkward. But Mattie touched him a lot, so he figured it was possibly okay. Blue blinked as Mattie leaned closer to him, too scared to break Mattie’s thoughtless movements. Mattie’s lips touched his jaw and Blue bit his lip to remain silent. The human moved his hands, running them through Blue’s hair.
“M-Mattie?” he asked, his voice breaking from embarrassment. For someone who claimed to have no sex drive, Mattie was an expert at making Blue shiver. The human wrapped his arms around his shoulders, and Blue rested his hands on Mattie’s waist. He bit the inside of his cheek, tempted to kiss Mattie senseless. It was the human’s fault – it was a logical reaction when someone was being sensual and… and… Blue swallowed, not wanting to move out of the embrace, but his brain was beginning to swim a bit.
Mattie decided it was the perfect time for a coherent conversation. “And I live my life… Happy… and full of love. I don’t regret that I’m dying… It has made me see how lucky I really am. I’m only nineteen, and I am such a blessed man.”
Blue kept his mouth sealed firmly shut, because he knew if he opened it one of two things would happen. An unintelligible stream of words or he would kiss the human. Maybe both. At the same time. Full of love? Blue sighed and rested his head on Mattie’s shoulder, looking contemplatively at his neck. “You’re beautiful,” Blue said, his lips brushing against Mattie’s neck. A trifle pleased as this fulfilled the not-mission to kiss Mattie, he lifted his head and grinned at the human. “You’re brave. I’ve done very desperate things to live before,” he admitted. “But I’m going to do whatever it takes to make you stay happy, promise. You think you’re blessed now? Pfft,” Blue declared, pulling away from Mattie and lying down on the bed with his arms crossed behind his head.
His dark brown eyes locked with Mattie’s pretty eyes, and his lips twitched into a not-mischievous smirk. The Djinn breathed out teal-and-red mist, floating harmlessly in the air before curling around Mattie. It was a brief glimpse of the, ah, ‘uncomfortable’ feelings Mattie had sparked in Blue. Satisfied he’d made his point, Blue retracted the energy and let it settle back. “Hey… if you’re French, why can’t you cook?”
“It isn’t fair, is it? I’ve lived for far too long. I’d switch places with you in an instant if only you’d ask,” Blue told him, and Mattie laughed softly, still caressing Blue's face with his thumbs. He looked into the man's lovely dark eyes and as he stared it was like looking into the sky at night. So dark and so deep. The depth seemed so limitless and so complex. And his eyes seemed old. Not like, 'wrinkled old man' old.. But like.. Something rare and beautiful you find locked away in a museum. Mattie began to regard the man before him as a rare and delicate treasure.. But then he found himself retracting that 'delicate' bit. The man had carried him as though he weighed nothing. Blue was anything but delicate.
“I like the way you speak,” Blue decided, touching Mattie’s lip with his fingers. Mattie smiled softly and gently kissed those fingertips as they trailed over soft and pale tiers.. “I like your words, your accent, and your sincerity. It’s… refreshing. You are. I like that.” He was refreshing? Most people considered him dry and bland.. much like his cooking. “M-Mattie?” Mattie felt the man shift slightly and his fingers curled gently, wanting to keep Blue withing his grasp. Mattie decided it was the perfect time for a coherent conversation. “I live my life… Happy… and full of love. I don’t regret that I’m dying… It has made me see how lucky I really am. I’m only nineteen, and I am such a blessed man.”
Mattie saw his lips purse tightly together and he couldn't help but chuckle softly closing his eyes, enjoying the gentle radiation of warmth eminating from his body. Rain always made him feel cold, even when he was dry and far from it, warm indoors. Rain just gave him a cold feeling. Perhaps that's what made him cling so happily against this man.. “You’re beautiful,” Blue said, his lips brushing against Mattie’s neck. That was certainly a shift. Mattie could feel the heat rush to his cheeks. It wasn't that Mattie didn't have a sex drive. He very much would have loved to indulge in intimacy, relishing in the passionate embrace of another. There were just.. complications. “You’re brave. I've done very desperate things to live before,” he admitted. “But I’m going to do whatever it takes to make you stay happy, promise. You think you’re blessed now? Pfft,” Mattie chuckled softly as Blue reclined away and rest against the bed. There was a sudden shine to Mattie's eyes. A certain look as he smiled softly.
He was about to ask if Blue was tired but the strange mist that Blue had produced. He watched it curiously, somewhat awestruck and reached out his fingertips to touch it curiously. The mist seemed to swirl around his fingers and snaked around his arm and crept across his body in a serpentine coil around him. “Bleu.. what is..” But then there was a gasp from the frail man's lips and Mattie closed his eyes and craned his head back, a soft and sensual sigh shuddered from slightly parted lips as Mattie's fingers gently clutched Blue's arm. It made his heart pound and Mattie felt such a tugging in the pit of his stomach to take the man before him into a deep passion filled kiss.
His thoughts were all a muddle when Blue seemed to casually ask him something as the mist began to creep away and dissipate. “Hey… if you’re French, why can’t you cook?” Mattie's reply? A meek squeak as he doubled over from his knelt position beside Blue and buried his face into the pillow, taking a mouth full of it into his teeth to try and calm the butterflies in the pit of his stomach and ease the trembling. But the sudden change in position as he laid flat on his stomach made him realize there was a change in amount of room his hand in his jeans. It was most uncomfortable and Mattie rolled onto his side, putting his back to Blue sheepishly as he went to correct the conundrum.
With the sudden raise in blood pressure came another issue as well.. Increase blood flow to his head increasing pressure on his brain, in turn adding pressure to the tumor. While it was not excruciating, it made it exceedingly difficult to concentrate and his equilibrium was all but gone. As hands fumbled helplessly to adjust himself, he took slow and steady breaths to try and calm the quickened heart rate and bring the blood pressure back down before he got another nose bleed. It took a moment but Mattie slowly regained his composure. Well, as much composure as one can have with with a swimmy head, and ache between his legs, and the motor skills of a gerbil after being run through a dryer.
“I.. I can cook... Most people just don’t like it” he responded with a soft and shaky breath. “Besides.. My Mama would always do the cooking.” His face went bright red. Well if there was one way to kill a mood and switch off the urge to jump someone's bones, Talking about your mother was that way to do it. He drew in a deep breath and slowly went to sit up, his back still to Blue as his mind was still trying to wrap around what had just happened to him. As he swallowed, he realized that all that soft whimpering and huffing against his pillow had dried his throat. He slowly pushed himself to a stand using the headboard for support for a moment. “I need something to drink. I'll be right- Ack!” and found that his legs weren’t quite up to the task just yet. He hit the floor with a dull thud and Mattie squeaked out a quick and embarrassed “I'm okay!!”
Blue smiled innocently as Mattie tried to ask what it was. The gasp and sigh made Blue’s stomach coil tightly. He looked away, a little embarrassed that his plan had worked so well. Still, a point had to be made and Blue wasn’t going to let Mattie live down stroking his Lamp. Several times. What was that human saying? Revenge is a dish best served with an aphrodisiac? Blue looked down as Mattie gripped his arm. He lifted Mattie’s hand and pressed it to his lips, kissing the end of each finger. He propped himself up on his elbows. This could be fun.
He retracted his energy and felt the rush of emotions again. He swallowed thickly, deciding that Mattie was flustered enough for both of them. To break the tension, Blue asked about cooking. To be fair, the other Frenchman he’d met couldn’t make hot chocolate without caving and eating the powder first. Perhaps French being the cuisine gourmet masters was only a stereotype, and a very inaccurate one. He waited patiently for his master’s answer. After all, he’d taken back his energy. The effects should have been over… right? Well… apparently not, if the blush on Mattie’s face and the shallow breathing were any sort of indicator.
Mattie squeaked and threw himself down on the pillow. Blue nestled next to him, running his hand down Mattie’s back. “Are you alright, master?” Blue asked softly. His hand went up Mattie’s back, his neck, and through his hair. “It was supposed to be over by now,” he mused aloud, trying not to make his voice waiver. Because, dammit, there was something very attractive about the blond with a pillow between his teeth. “I-I wouldn’t have done it if I’d realized you were already attracted to me,” the Djinn said, a blush of his own on his cheeks.
That would be the only reason the energy had affected the poor human this strongly. Still… it got his point across rather well. Mattie rolled away from him, and Blue bit his lip. “Don’t be angry with me,” he pleaded quietly, drawing shapes on the human’s back. “Matthieu?” he asked, wrapping his arms around Mattie. He kissed the back of his neck. The poor thing seemed flustered to no end, although Blue couldn’t understand why. There was no reason for him to be attracted to Blue, and certainly no reason to be aroused by him. It’s just the energy, Blue told himself. It was affecting him strangely because of… of… his medicine.
“Concentrate on the question,” Blue said finally, pulling away from Mattie reluctantly.
Mattie still had his back to Blue as he took a shaky breath. “I…I can cook…Most people just don’t like it,” he said. Blue smirked and sat up, feeling tempted to run his fingers over Mattie again, because the noises Mattie had been making had very much piqued his interest. What other sorts of noises could the Frenchman make if he only applied that energy more carefully? And if he didn’t take it back at the first sigh? He licked his lips, deciding to keep that thought in mind. He’d have to confer with Matthieu later about the subject.
“I’d eat anything you gave me,” Blue said innocently. “I’m sure you’re delicious. Ah… your cooking, that is.”
“Besides… My Mama would always do the cooking.”
Blue frowned. Sneaky bastard, bringing up his mom. “Ah,” he said, watching as Mattie sat up. He felt tempted to wrap his arms around Mattie and drag him under the covers, but Mattie had mentioned before the tumor affected his, eh, intimacy levels. He certainly didn’t want to hurt his master because of a selfish carnal desire. Except that when he thought about it carefully, he was almost positive he could give the Frenchman a lot more pleasure than pain. He bit his lip, wondering if he should apologize again. He certainly hadn’t expected that strong of a reaction from the poor man.
It’d be apologizing from sheer politeness and utterly lacking in sincerity.
He’d zoned out for the most part, only nodding vaguely when Mattie mentioned a drink. Until he heard the thud. Blue blinked, and looked over the edge of the bed. “Matthieu… did you intend on crawling to the kitchen?” he asked, sliding off the bed next to the human. He smiled sheepishly, realizing how much he quite liked Mattie’s face now that Mattie had his back turned for the past few minutes. He helped the human up and put him back on the bed, pushing on his shoulders gently until the human was lying on the bed.
“Anyway, I’m your ever loyal Blue, remember?” he said, pressing a kiss to Mattie’s cheek. “I’ll get your drink. That’s what I’m here for.” He sat up, still sitting on the edge of the bed. “Homicidal maniacs, if you get thirsty…” Gah, he knew where the kitchen was, so he really needed to get off the bed and get the drink. It wasn’t fair, what Mattie was doing to him. He took a deep breath to clear his head, glancing down Mattie’s body.
His hand trailed down to the front of Mattie’s trousers. “Do you actually sleep in these? It seems very… uncomfortable,” Blue said, tracing the zipper and button. “I think you should take it off. Don’t you have pajama pants?” he asked, a only slightly mischievous smirk on his lips as he trailed his hand from the trousers to the bottom of the shirt, pushing it up Mattie’s chest. “And you really ought to take the shirt off. It’s covered in dirt,” Blue told him, running a hand over Mattie’s bare stomach.
Satisfied he’d flustered Mattie as much as he could without ripping his clothes and having his way with him, Blue put his hands on either side of Mattie’s head and leaned down. “This is how I feel every time you touch my Lamp,” he murmured in his ear. “Now, master, how about that drink?”
Mattie squeaked and threw himself down on the pillow. Blue nestled next to him, running his hand down Mattie’s back. “Are you alright, master?” Blue asked softly. Mattie whimpered pathetically as those fingers traced his spine through his shirt. His heart was just pounding away a high paced beat in his chest. He was astounded Blue couldn’t hear it. “It was supposed to be over by now,” he mused aloud, Mattie muttered gibberish into the pillow. “I-I wouldn’t have done it if I’d realized you were already attracted to me,”
When Mattie rolled onto his side to make some adjustments he heard Blue plead to him..“Don’t be angry with me,” and Mattie could only smile softly as he fought to slow his heart rate.. Be mad? How could he be mad? He was in bliss, he just didn’t want the unfortunate painful side effect. “Matthieu?” he asked, wrapping his arms around Mattie. When those kisses trailed down his neck, Mattie found his arm reaching behind him to gently pass a hand through Blue's hair. Still too flustered to make coherent conversation when he asked about his cooking skills. “Concentrate on the question,” Blue said finally, and Mattie felt a slight pang of longing as Blue drew his hand away.
Mattie still had his back to Blue as he took a shaky breath. “I…I can cook…Most people just don’t like it,” It wasn't that he was a horrible cook, (yes he was) but he had a habit of not following the directions in cookbooks exactly. He liked to improvise.. a lot. “I’d eat anything you gave me,” Blue said innocently. “I’m sure you’re delicious. Ah… your cooking, that is.” Mattie's cheeks went a shade of pink “Besides… My Mama would always do the cooking.” He just had to dodge that topic. Although the idea of Blue's teeth gently grazing his skin made him smile and not in the most innocent of ways. He was almost glad that he had not been facing the djinn at the moment.
It was then that Mattie had made a feeble attempt to head to the kitchen for a drink when his legs abruptly reminded him that he wasn't going anywhere. Blue blinked, and looked over the edge of the bed. “Matthieu… did you intend on crawling to the kitchen?” he asked, and Mattie turned his head to watch Blue settle down beside him. Mattie felt quite embarrassed but brushed it off with a cheerful laugh. His face flushed slightly as Blue helped him up and put him back on the bed, pushing on his shoulders gently until he was lying on the bed. Mattie's eyes turned into a soft gaze as a hand reached up, trailing through his dark and wild hair. “Bleu”
“Anyway, I’m your ever loyal Blue, remember?” he said, and Mattie smiled as that kiss pressed to his cheek and the man reminded him that he would more than happily fetch his drink and attend to his needs. Mattie was about to reply with a soft nod and a quiet thank you when Blue's hands wandered. “Do you actually sleep in these? It seems very… uncomfortable,” Mattie's hand went to Blue's shoulder, his face slowly deepening in blush. “I think you should take it off. Don’t you have pajama pants? And you really ought to take the shirt off. It’s covered in dirt,” Blue told him, running a hand over Mattie’s bare stomach. Mattie's eyes closed with a soft sigh, his chest rising and falling and his spine arched slightly as he felt like he wanted to curl his toes and the back of his legs ached. “I.. I normally sleep with a lot less on." he blushed profusely looking up at Blue
Blue suddenly ended his teasings and withdrew his warm hands and Mattie was left feeling so close to satisfied and yet craving more. “This is how I feel every time you touch my Lamp,” he murmured in his ear and Mattie smirked, despite his flustered expression 'I'll have to remember that, you sneaky devil' he thought to himself.. “Now,master, how about that drink?” Mattie nodded and cleared his throat. “Just water.. Please, Bleu”
Princess had been waiting in the kitchen, sitting casually on the counter, her paw splayed open and cleaning between her toes. She never stopped her groomings as she looked to the Djinn with a knowing glance “If I didn’t know better, Sir Blue, I would say my darling human likes you. You'll be gentle with him wont you?” But she didn’t give him much of an opportunity to answer as she delicately dropped down from the counter and came to rub her body against his leg and pranced out of the kitchen.. The bell on her collar still not making a sound. She went to go dote on her human, sitting on his chest and pressing and massaging her paws into his collar bone. Mattie petted her gently and told her quietly “I know.. I should change, huh, my little Princess.” Princess replied with a loud purr and butting the top of her head to her human's chin.
Mattie sat up, gently scooting his cat off of his chest and went to remove articles of clothing. He stopped when he reached the hem of his pants and found his hands trembling as he realized that he would only be wearing his underwear in bed with a strange man. A strange man that he couldn't help but trust completely. He took a deep breath and hoisted up his hips and moved his pants off of his legs and off of his legs and kicked them away, not concerned with there they landed. He sheepishly curled under the blankets awaiting Blue's return. He found himself silently wishing that there was a way for him to indulge in the carnal desires that still tugged at him. It would be an awkward conversation but he would be sure to talk to his doctor about his possible options on his next appointment.
Out of all the masters he’d had, Blue couldn’t recall one being so beautiful. He smiled as his hands trailed down to the front of the poor man’s trousers. Blue tensed as Mattie put his hand on the djinn’s shoulder. He shut his eyes, expecting for the human to push him off. When the hand didn’t push him – or pull him, Blue noted with something that seemed vaguely like disappointment – he opened his eyes, and looked at the blush on the human’s cheeks.
Beautiful.
Blue smiled again and lifted the shirt up, running his hand over his stomach. Just as there was a feeling of fire in Blue’s veins, Mattie seemed to feel it, too. The human shut his eyes and sighed quietly. Blue trailed his fingers slower, drawing it out as much as he possibly could. As much as he did, Mattie never tried to stop him. He felt another little tug at his inside as Mattie arched underneath his fingertips, and Blue shivered. It was a strange feeling that he could cause this level of pleasure in a human.
“I.. I normally sleep with a lot less on,” Mattie admitted. Blue grinned and he felt tempted to snake his fingers under Mattie’s jeans. Instead he leaned his head against the hand on his shoulder. He pushed Mattie’s hand off him gently and leaned next to the human’s ear, whispering that this level of sexual frustration was warranted when the damnable man stroked his Lamp. He moved back slightly, expecting to see… well, anything. Instead, Mattie was smirking. He shifted a little pensively. “Just water… Please, Bleu,” Mattie told him.
Blue nodded, not wanting to separate from the human, but unable to defy the order. “We’ll see how much you sleep with tonight,” Blue said, voice thick with mischievousness. His teeth grazed the outer shell of the human’s ear gently. He stood, quite the image of innocence as he hurried out of the room to prepare the water for his master. It was certainly panning out to be an eventful night. He wasn’t sure at all where this was going, and it was going much too quickly for him to wonder if everything was setting right with him.
He searched the cabinets, looking for a cup. Was he actually flirting with a human male? True, Blue was sexless by default, but his mindset was very much masculine. And if he was as close to a male as a Djinn could be, did that make him… well… Blue sighed and finally found the cupboard with the cups. He wasn’t sure about any of this. Mattie was a beautiful creature. He poured ice in the cup, biting his bottom lip. The memory of the man writhing underneath his fingertips, and the human pheromones pouring off the poor man had been almost too much for the Djinn to manage.
Because really, pinning the much weaker human to the bed and pouring out all his frustration had been an alarmingly appealing notion.
“If I didn’t know better, Sir Blue,” Princess said from behind him, “I would say my darling human likes you.” Blue’s mouth dried as he whirled around to face the cat. She was still grooming herself and giving him the motherly eye, and he looked down at his shoes, ashamed of himself. Mattie was a frustrated person – it must be awful to have a sex drive without the capability of sex. It had been the opposite for Blue. He’d never much cared for the idea of it, but… he turned away from the cat again. “You’ll be gentle with him, won’t you?”
Gentle? He shut his eyes tightly, embarrassed. “Don’t be silly,” he said quietly. “Mattie likes everyone. I’m nothing special,” Blue murmured. He sighed and opened his eyes. What was it about the human that made him a bundle of nerves? Fondling his Lamp had certainly put Blue on the edge, but… that wasn’t a reason for him to nearly rape the poor human. Especially after he’d told him that getting intimate hurts him.
Well, now was no time for Blue to reevaluating his actions. “And of course I’ll be gentle with him. What’s that supposed to mean, anyway? He’s my master. I can’t hurt him,” he grumbled, turning on the water and filling the cup. “And anyway, I’m not even sure that he likes me nearly as much as you seem to think he does. We only just met. And it’s my job to make sure he’s happy, even if that means…” he trailed off, his cheeks flushing as he thought about making Mattie ‘happy’. “Even if it means something as strange as… well, you know, don’t you?” he asked, uncomfortable. The Jinn didn’t procreate with the conventional ‘sex’. They could produce fledglings asexually, and most of them did. And the idea of ‘sexual’ reproduction was just when two – or more – Jinn combined their energy.
He turned around to offer Princess a look of practiced boredom, but she was gone. He frowned. Well, if no one was there, he might as well look as insecure as he felt. He muttered something about cats under his breath and walked back towards Mattie’s room. He wasn’t totally sure he could sleep next to the poor man. The pheromones were still thick in the air, and the closer that Blue got the room, the more his own energy was beginning to spark with red. He took a deep breath, trying to ignore the sensation as he walked into the room.
Mattie was curled under the blankets, and Princess was lying on the foot of the bed. Mattie’s shirt was on the ground, and so was his pants. He felt another stirring of… well, something. He wasn’t sure he wanted to go down that road. “I brought your water, Matthieu,” he said, setting the cup down on the nightstand.
He sat on the other side of the bed, watching Mattie carefully. Knowing that the human was naked – or very nearly – under the blanket was making Blue very uncomfortable indeed. “You know,” Blue said quietly, unbuttoning his banker’s shirt, “I’m sorry about earlier. I, uh…” he trailed off, feeling a swelling of lust in his chest as his eyes traveled down the blanket. He cleared his throat and looked down at his feet, sheepishly, putting the shirt on the ground. “But I’d do it all again. I like the noises you make.”
He smiled innocently and shuffled underneath the blanket with Mattie. He wrapped his arm around the man’s bare chest and kissed his neck. “I promised I’d be gentle with you,” Blue told him, the hand on Mattie’s chest drifting not-quite-so-innocently lower. “Not that I’d stop.” He smiled as he slipped his hand under the hem of the man’s underwear. He removed his hand and rolled over, perching over Mattie with a playful smile. His hands were on either side of the human’s head and his knee between the man’s legs.
“Well, Matthieu? What do you think?” he asked, grinning as he trailed his fingers across Mattie’s neck, leaving a path of red-and-teal energy. “I won’t do anything you don’t want me to,” he said, kissing the edge of Mattie’s lips. “Probably,” he added thoughtfully.
When Blue had left to get his water, Mattie's mind was swimming in the oddest bliss. He'd kissed and been kissed before, he'd had hands trail his body before, but nothing that made him feel so intensely vulnerable. A vulnerability that he didn’t mind at all. Everything was moving rather quickly for him though. And it wasn't that he found the situation distressing, but what had him perplexed was that Mattie was so absolutely ready and willing to coil and whimper against Blue's tantric caresses.
He peeled out of his clothes and curled into his blankets looking out the glass door that lead out to a balcony. The rain pattering against the glass was a soothing sound but he hated how the rain always made him feel cold. No matter how tightly he coiled into his blankets, no matter how warm the room actually was. He remembered his bedroom as a child when he lived with his mother and little sister. The house had never been well insulated and always easily got cold. It was always worse when it rained because the wet chill crept in and clung to their clothes and skin, keeping them cold.
He knew it was all in his mind, but it was a difficult thing to shake off. He ended up rolling in his sheets and stared at the door of his bedroom, fingers innocently.. well.. not so innocently trailing his own lips, imagining Blue's lips there. As his fingers tickled his lower lip, he shuddered and sucked his bottom lip in and his cheeks flushed slightly. The virgin found his whole body twitching with a strange sensation that Mattie could only equate to longing. Blue had only been gone for a few moments and the man was desperately wanting to be in his powerful arms.
He swallowed again, throat still slightly parched, and he sighed softly. He could have gotten the water himself. He felt a little bad for sending Blue to get it. He didn’t want Blue to think he was some kind of slave driver. But.. wasn't it also Blue's main purpose in life? To serve? Mattie's scrunched his nose at the thought. That was so unfair. Mattie was determined that he would never wish for something if I couldn’t do it himself.
Mattie smiled meekly as Blue walked back in, the glass of water in his hand. “I brought your water, Matthieu,” he said, setting the cup down on the nightstand. Mattie smiled and nodded with a soft “Merci bien, Bleu.” Mattie chuckled softly, remembering that Blue and French didn’t quite sync up. “Thank you, Bleu” and reached for the glass as he set it down, fingers lightly touching Blue's before grasping the glass and taking a long and slow drink before returning the now empty glass to the night stand.
Mattie watched the djinn curiously for a moment, taking note of the slight fidgety nature. “You know,” Blue said quietly, unbuttoning his banker’s shirt, “I’m sorry about earlier. I, uh…” he trailed off. Mattie smiled, very tempted to trail his fingers across the lamp once more. There was something about this man when he seemed shy that made Mattie want to take him into his arms and dot him with kisses every where Blue would allow his lips to travel. “But I’d do it all again. I like the noises you make.”
At that Mattie's cheeks and nose turned a softer shade of pink. Blue curled under the blankets and coiled his arms around him and Mattie shuddered a sigh, his neck and chest deepening in their red flush. ”The... Noises I make?”. “I promised I’d be gentle with you,” Blue told him, and Mattie shuddered hard as Blue's warm hands trailed his abdomen and teased just at the hem of his underwear. “Not that I’d stop.” The look on Mattie's face suddenly changed. His expression soft but with a gleam of determination in his eyes as Blue rolled on top of him. Mattie lifted his knees to hold against Blue's hips, his own hips seeming to twitch, an involuntary body language that nearly screamed his disires to the djinn.
“Well, Matthieu? What do you think?” he asked, and Mattie shut his eyes with a soft gasp as that energy from before passed over his skin. His arms went up to surround Blue's waist, fingers curling slightly, tugging at the man's flush without digging his nails in. He could feel the butterflies in his stomach and groin, and his head was swimming. “I won’t do anything you don’t want me to,” he said, kissing the edge of Mattie’s lips. “Probably,” he added thoughtfully.
This simply wouldnt do. Mattie trembled as his heart pounded. He had made out with plenty of men and women, but that had only been the playful teasings of a man who felt too insecure to indulge in his urges, too afraid of being in pain. But this was a different situation altogether. Mattie found himself willing to endure anything and everything to sleep in Blue's embrace, tangled in the winding sheets. Mattie's hands trailed in a delicate tickle down Blue's spine until his hands found the hem of his pants. He leaned his head up and Mattie's lips eagerly found Blue's, a delicate press at first, but quickly deepening and growing in urgency. Mattie reached his hands to find the button and zipper of Blue's pants, unsteady hands working to undo them and tug them off of Blue's hips.
Mattie whispered softly against Blue's flesh, “What do I think? I think you're beautiful. I.. I dont think there is anything I wouldn't let you do.”
Blue’s face flushed as the Frenchman grasped his hips with Mattie’s knees. Mattie’s hips twitched forward, and Blue swallowed thickly, trying very hard to control himself. He’d expected a bit more resistance at the very least. He bit his lip and continued, an uneasy feeling stirring in his stomach as he asked Matthieu what he thought. Mattie’s fingers dug into him, and Blue’s right hand curled into the bedsheets as his left trailed across Mattie’s face. The unsettling feeling stirred once more, and he tried to shake it off by kissing the edge of Mattie’s lips. The emotion only intensified as he felt Mattie under him.
He couldn’t do this. Blue felt the human’s heart beat heavily and he sighed, biting his lip harder until his teeth sliced through the lip. He was about to pull away and apologize for everything because something felt wrong and Blue was getting restless and nervous and a little scared, but then Mattie made his move. Blue leaned his forehead against Mattie, letting out a small whimper as Mattie’s hands trailed down Blue’s spine. This felt wonderful, and Blue shivered, barely keeping more of his energy from seeping into Mattie’s skin. It escaped his mouth as he focused on the feeling of Mattie’s hands. The Djinn hastily retracted it, barely before Mattie found the hem of his pants.
The feeling was escalating quickly and Blue wasn’t sure he could pretend to be comfortable during this. But if this was what Mattie wanted, then it was his job to serve. Right? He was supposed to be a slave to Mattie’s wants and needs, but Blue found himself… kissing Mattie? He leaned against Mattie, deepening the kiss as he felt Mattie’s lust and the pheromones were too much. His breath shuddered out of him as Mattie fondled his pants. “M-Matthieu, I can’t th-think…” he said, his arms shaking a little as Mattie continued touching him.
His cheeks burned again as Mattie pushed his pants from him. He kicked them from the bed, kicking them from the bed. He wanted to do this, didn’t he? He’d certainly been the instigator. Right. He could do this. His arms were still shaking, and Blue looked away from Mattie. “What do I think?” Mattie repeated, and Blue returned his gaze to the human, nodding shyly. “I think you’re beautiful.” Beautiful? The guilt feeling returned full force, kicking Blue in the stomach angrily. Beautiful…? “I… I don’t think there is anything I wouldn’t let you do.”
Blue swallowed thickly and, pressing a kiss to Mattie’s lips as an apology, untangled himself from the human. He scooted away from the human, trying to find his words. He wanted to hold Mattie to his chest and he figured he’d be content with that, but Mattie wouldn’t. He looked guiltily down to Mattie’s rather excited state, then back to Mattie’s eyes. He wanted desperately to crawl back and finish what he started, because he could feel the pheromones, the confusion, and the want, but although Blue normally granted unsaid wishes, he couldn’t fulfil this one.
“I’m sorry, I’m really sorry, Mattie, I’m sorry,” he said quickly, drawing his knees to his chest and shivered, realizing he was in a rather startling state of undress. “I just… I mean, I… I really want to… with you, I mean, and… and I didn’t…” he stuttered over his own words, trying to find some reason that made him sound like a coward. He found Matthieu very attractive, he clearly wanted to bed Mattie, and Mattie was quite the willing participant if his pheromones were anything to by.
So why couldn’t he? He curled up, putting his back to Mattie guiltily. He called me beautiful. “I think I like you too much to do this,” Blue said, confused. Didn’t that go against everything? If two people liked each other, wasn’t sex a logical successor? But he couldn’t touch Mattie without the guilt rolling over him in waves. And what if Blue did go through with it? Mattie would be sated, but Blue would be completely amoral. He ran his tongue over his bloody tongue, using a bit of the energy to heal himself. “That doesn’t make any sense…”
He bit his thumb, shivering a little more. “It’s just that… I really do want to… to do those things… with you, but I want you to want me,” Blue muttered, covering his face, embarrassed. Why the hell was he even still speaking? “And I just gave you several… er, large.. doses of an aphrodisiac. I… uh, I’m sorry about that, by the way. So you’re not… you’re not in your right mind, you see?” he apologized, rambling. “Please don’t hate me. Or give me away. If you want me to finish what I started, I will. I’m sorry, I’m just… I’m really sorry…”
“I’m sorry, I’m really sorry, Mattie, I’m sorry,” Blue said, suddenly moving away from him. Mattie was left to lay there, his heart already racing like a runaway train. Oh the look on Mattie's face. Like a child who had been offered a puppy only to watch it to be run over, moments later. “I just… I mean, I… I really want to… with you, I mean, and… and I didn’t…” he stuttered over his own words, and Mattie seemed to smirk slightly as he rolled onto his side to rest his hand on Blue's shoulder, thumb lightly tracing the warm flesh. He leaned in to softly kiss the skin of his shoulder.
“I think I like you too much to do this,” Blue said, sounding rather bewildered.“That doesn’t make any sense…” Mattie rested his cheek against Blue's shoulder, his fingers lightly trailing the gently ridges of his spine. “Don't apologize, Bleu..” Mattie felt mostly responsible for the situation. He had riled the djinn up by kissing and caressing the lamp when Blue had plainly asked him not to. It had been quite innocently, but Mattie still did it.
Mattie felt Blue shudder under his touch.. “It’s just that… I really do want to… to do those things… with you, but I want you to want me,” And Mattie smiled as Blue muttered, rambled, and apologized for everything that had transpired between them. Mattie warmly wrapped his arms around Blue's shoulders and softly kissed the back of his neck. “Dont worry.. It is, as they say.. 'Water Under The Bridge', yes?” But there was still the issue of the lustful desires pulsing through him. And Mattie, while peaceable and polite, did think he would be able to resist the temptation to force himself on Blue. So to be a gentleman and salvage what dignity they had left Mattie made a soft suggestion.
“Maybe.. For tonight... You should sleep on the couch.” He said nothing more than that. Blue was right. This was something he needed to decide to do with a clear head and Mattie needed to sleep off the swimmy sensation still buzzing around in his head. He took one of the blankets off of his bed and gently handed it to Blue, motioning with his hand that he should leave. He tried to maintain a pleasant smile so that Blue didn’t think that he was angry with him or banishing him. He curled into his own blanket and put his back to Blue.
As soon as Mattie heard Blue's light steps head down the hall, He couldnt help it. He clutched Blue's lamp and caressed it with his thumb and dotting a kiss to it. That was when he grinned, feeling as though he had been avenged and chirped cheerfully down the hallway. “Good Night, Bleu!!”
As the hours ticked away, at some point during the night, Princess felt it was prudent to check on the amir. She silently lept to the armrest of the couch to find the unruly crown of raven curls and she batted at it curiously. Highly intelligent as she was, she was still a cat. When the curl resiliently sprang back and settled, Princess' bright blue eyes went wide and she crouched low, tail twitching as she stalked the curl, batting at it again. This went on for several moments before Princess finally became bored with it. Those curls seemed so soft and lush, she decided it would make an appropriate place to curl up and sleep. She gently stepped up and played her toes into his hair before stretching and curling into a ball on top of Blue's head.
When morning finally rolled around, Mattie yawned and stretched and groggily rubbed the sleep from his dark brown eyes. Had last night been a dream? It had been to fantastic to be real. But as he glanced at the floor where his closed were piled, he realized it was no dream. The hat.. The fedora he'd wished for. He swallowed as he reached to pick it up... No, it was quite real. That was when he hand flew to his neck... The lamp still hung there as well and Mattie sighed softly.. So it wasn't a dream. He smiled softly as she climbed out of bed and went to his dresser to pulled on a plaid pair of Pajama pants and walked down the hallway to see Blue laying there.. With Princess laying on his head. His mouth twisted with a smirk as he fought not to laugh out loud.
He decided that they needed to start off on the right foot this morning. He merrily went into the kitchen and rummaged through the fridge trying to find something to fix themselves.. “ooooh.. Pancakes! Those cant be too hard!!” and read the instructions on the back of the box. He got his pan and went to find a large bowl and filled it with the quick mix powder and got some milk, not bothering to check if it was still... fresh... and poured it in.. He got a whisk and began mixing the batter until it was a soft and smooth creamy concoction.
As he poured the batter into the ban, Mattie grinned brightly as it began to sizzle and rise. The was when he felt a cat rubbing up against his leg. He glanced down to see Genie looked up at him with expectant eyes. “Oh, Right.. I should feed you, huh!” and he absently stepped away from the stove to rummage through the cupboards to get some cat food. He poured a bowl for Genie and another for Princess and went to scritch gently behind Genie's ear. He found himself getting distracted as he went to rummage about to see what else was in the cupboard.
“.......... I have trail mix?” as he pulled out the bag, curiously. He didn’t remember buying it. “I wonder if it's still good” That was when he heard an ear splitting wail from the fire alarm. He spun around to see that the pancake he had forgotten about was brightly ablaze and billowing up smoke. “Ack! “ and went to grab the pan to throw it in the sink and run water over it. But in his rush to get the pan off the stove, he forgot the pot holder, and picked up the hot pan with his bare hand, the handle scalding the palm of his hand. The flaming pancake inferno clattered to the floor and Mattie let out a loud yelp, holding his hand and looked at the fire. “Okay.. No one panic!! I got this!!!”
Genie calmly scoffed as he eat his food. “Hey, Princess!! The human is trying to burn the house down again!!!”
“Maybe… For tonight… You should sleep on the couch.” Blue turned to stare at Mattie, wounded. The human had told him not to apologize and that it was water under the bridge, hadn’t he? Why would he be kicking him out? His cheeks were flushed red from Mattie’s revenge. He’d been doing to Blue exactly what the Djinn had been doing earlier. Kissing his skin, running his fingers across the skin, and just… well, generally just being a tantalizing incubus bastard. Blue stared at Mattie, hoping that the human would change his mind. He didn’t want to spend his first night in a strange apartment by himself on a couch.
He’d feel much safer wrapped in Mattie’s embrace, but Mattie seemed determined that Blue wasn’t sleeping with him. The Djinn swallowed and held the blanket to his chest. “Of course, master,” Blue said blandly, confused by the mixed signals Matthieu was giving him. He obviously liked Blue and wanted him, so why was he making him leave? And why, after banishing Blue from the bedroom, why was Mattie still smiling so kindly? “Well, if you need anything, I’ll get it for you,” Blue said, wrapping the blanket around himself childishly.
Blue shuffled out of the room slowly, trying to wait to give Mattie enough time to change his mind. Unfortunately for Blue, Mattie simply rolled over and put his back to Blue. Disheartened, the Djinn stepped out of the room, going down the short hallway and into the living room. Just as he was about to flop down on the couch and die from loneliness, he felt a sudden pang of longing. He shivered violently as his Lamp was kissed and stroked. He all but fell on the couch, practically melting into it. Mattie was lucky that he hadn’t done that before – or tomorrow would be awkward for a completely different reason.
“Good Night, Bleu!!” the man chirped. Blue’s cheeks flushed and his hips twitched forward wantonly. He breathed out a shaky sigh and he thought of throwing caution and his feelings to the wind and ravishing Mattie. That thought was quite appealing, and if Mattie hadn’t given him the order to leave the room… well, Blue didn’t want to dwell on those thoughts. The memory of Mattie’s knees catching his waist as the human’s hips jerked entered his mind and Blue’s face went red, goose-bumps running down his arms.
He cleared his throat, realizing that it was only polite to respond. “U-uh, yeah. Good night, Matthieu,” Blue called shakily, not as composed as Mattie seemed to be. He curled on the couch, burying himself in the couch. His ears became pointed and catlike as he listened to Mattie’s breathing. He was more than a little concerned for his master’s health and he’d wanted to stay in the same room to ensure that he would be healthy and, well, alive. Once he detected Mattie’s soft breathing, Blue smiled and shut his eyes.
During the night, he felt one of the cats jump on the armrest of the couch. Blue’s ear twitched as he listened for Mattie’s breathing again. Satisfied the cat wasn’t coming to bear bad news, Blue lay still as the cat played with his hair. Princess. Genie wouldn’t go anywhere near him unless he had food, or so it seemed to Blue. His lips twitched into another smile as Princess curled on his head. Blue shifted to make her more comfortable. His fingers sleepily stroked her. “Goodnight, Princess,” he murmured. “And Genie, too, if he’s around.”
He kept waking up during the night to listen to Mattie’s breathing. This would have been much easier if Mattie hadn’t demanded that Blue leave the room. Possibly for forever. Of course, it was his own fault for seducing the poor human. He sighed as the hours passed, drifting in and out of sleep. Princess remained on his head, a comforting weight reminding him that he wasn’t alone in the scary apartment. He was afraid of new places although, to be fair, there wasn’t much that Blue wasn’t afraid of. And if his master wouldn’t comfort him by letting him sleep in the same room, at least Princess was there to comfort him.
Blue vaguely heard the pitter-patter of little Mattie feet. His ears twitched and returned to normal. He buried himself underneath Princess, trying to ignore Matthieu. He wasn’t quite ready for the Frenchman to tell him never to touch him again. He heard the footsteps enter the kitchen and Mattie chirped something about pancakes. He remembered their conversation about cooking from last night, and Blue frowned a little pensively. He watched Mattie’s back as he began to cook. He was entirely too chipper for the morning.
On the bright side, however, Blue didn’t notice any longing gazes, so the aphrodisiac must have worn off. He smiled as he watched Genie cross over to the human and demand food. Blue watched as the pancakes began to burn, and then he noted, in alarm, that the pancake was on fire. He stirred, pushing Princess (quite rudely) off his head. He apologized and then nearly shrieked when the alarm went off. He covered his ears, and glared at the fire alarm. The device sparked and the wailing deepened until it stopped making noise completely. He’d buy the poor man a new one.
He took a step towards the kitchen to deal with the chaos when Mattie stupidly grabbed the pan. Blue’s jaw unhinged slightly at the human’s thoughtlessness. Mattie yelped and dropped the pan on the ground. “Okay… No one panic! I got this!!!” Mattie declared. Genie continued to eat his food only pausing to call out to Princess and make fun of Mattie. Wait… Burn down the house…. Again? Was this a regular occurrence?
Blue sighed and picked the pan from ground. The fire went inside Blue’s mouth, joining the smokeless fire at the Djinn’s core. The pan cooled considerably in his hand and he placed it back on the stove, turning the stove off. He held the blackened pancake in his hand and ran his fingers over it. Teal energy fizzed when it connected with the black charcoal-esque top of the pancake. When Blue wiped off the teal film that covered the pancake, it looked like someone other than a culinary-challenged Frenchman made it.
He put the pancake back on the pan and turned to Mattie, raising an eyebrow questioningly. “Matthieu…” he said sternly, trying to get his thoughts together enough to scold the human. What would have happened if Blue hadn’t been there? Well obviously he’d dealt with fires before, but apparently not very effectively. His stern frown faded in an amused chuckle. “Let me fix you.”
Blue took Mattie’s hand. It was already beginning to blister. Blue shook his head quietly and ran his fingers gently over the burns, leaving a trail of teal in their path. He looked down at Mattie sheepishly. “Just helping you heal,” Blue promised, letting go of Mattie’s hand. “No funny business.” His eyes trailed to the Lamp hanging around Mattie’s neck. Funny business. He looked up at Mattie, clearly quite unimpressed by the ‘Goodnight Bleu’ antic last night. “By the way… you’re very lucky that I have self-control. You were very close to being not quite so innocent last night,” Blue said calmly, sniffing the pancake. It smelled awful… like sour milk. “I, uh… here. How about I take you out to breakfast to make up for what I did last night?” he asked kindly. “And lunch… and dinner…”
