Physical Description:
Abraxia is built lithely and willowy, with the natural flexibility and stamina needed for a circus performer. Her height tops at approximately 5ft 7" with her weight a little under the average. Her arms and legs are lightly toned and muscled, with her legs being longer than her trunk. Abraxia's skin is lightly freckled with smooth, midway pale skin and an emotive face. Her hair is a mix between blonde and red, long and styled as above. Outside of the circus it's down but when performing it's placed up and decorated with all kinds of showy items. Her eyes are light blue in colour and framed by long eyelashes.
Her attire usually features some kind of leather apparel, whether it be a jacket, trousers, top or otherwise. Jeans are favourites as are tank tops and anything she can really find to wear. She's a bit of a tomboy at times, but when it comes to looking nice she can really make an effort.
Personality:
Abraxia is a cheeky little bundle of energy. She likes to have fun and enjoys a laugh, often tongue in cheek humour or sometimes inappropriate. Abraxia cracks jokes, laughs at lots of things that often aren't quite funny and has a rather humorous outlook. Well, it does help if you work in a circus. that's not to say her intentions are... stellar. Abraxia is quite the trouble maker and hellion, despite being older. She's got a rather mischievous demeanour which can turn to sinister when threatened. She doesn't make a point of violence, but will lash out when stressed or pressured. Abraxia likes to play pranks and create disasters, but not necessarily dealing with the fall-out. Her childish and inquisitive attitude can sometime be detrimental. Sure, Abraxia can be serious, but you'd need to convince her with good reason that it's worth it.
Sneaky, sly and complete focused; Abraxia loves to play mind games with people and doesn't really spare a thought for danger. It's just one of those things that is there. Abraxia likes finding out how things work, including people, though taking them apart is fun, putting them back together is usually quite boring... and quite often she never does. Despite that, if you treat her right, Abraxia can become a loyal and reliable friend, with the added flair and finesse of the circus. She likes to talk and be around others, and is good at expressing her emotions and speaking out, though it's not always nice. Abraxia likes messing around with her three circus friends; Hathi (a rather exotic elephant like creature), Diavra (what looks like a cross between a phoenix and a vulture) and Kapaar (similar in many ways to a tiger... but much more spiky). She's a bit of a rocker rebel with no care for authority unless they give her a reason. Confident and able to hold her own... just watch out around Abraxia...
History:
Abraxia's beginnings are just as mysterious and confusing as those of any Djinn. She was created out of a spark of energy from none other than the first Marid, 'Twitch'. Her creation was not uneventful; trees whispered, rivers gurgled and fires roared of her existence and a great tsunami came upon the land. Out of this energy and life force came Abraxia, a young fledgling Marid with quite too much to say for her young age.
Her early existence was endless learning and repetition. The young Marid took every opportunity she could to leave and explore, diving down to the darkest depths of oceans, climbing to the top of the highest mountains and the likes, but there was always more to see. There was always the question of a master and her lamp. Abraxia searched far and wide, but she could never find someone worthy of such a title. Thus, she left it to fate, and continued to learn; the longing for a master dwindled but not forgotten.
A few thousand years leaves you a lot of time to get bored. Abraxia had to constantly find ways to amuse herself. The Marid mastered languages, travelled Earth and the surrounds and met many, many people. She was always strong willed and filled with wanderlust; the desire to see, do and be more. One mention of the word circus, at an early point in her existence, and she was hooked. Contact was made with The Ringmaster, and his right-handman beast, a huge hulking figure of a being that had the distinct features of a rhinoceros, and after explaining to them exactly what Jinn were and almost drowning the circus animals, they let her come along.
But the ringmaster's demeanour changed once the doors closed behind her. He became cruel, with malicious intent, and it was then that Abraxia knew the full extent of the circus. He stole her lamp, which at that time was a blue-diamond ring and kept it tucked away, forcing her into working. Stepping out of line earned her salt torture, and her many attempts to steal the ring back were foiled. So she bided her time and waited. Day after day Abraxia slaved away, but even though she could not get at what she dearly wanted, her spirit was never broken. Under the very nose of The Ringmaster himself, Abraxia amassed a revolt of the other acts and overthrew the man and ended his reign of terror, herself wielding the blade that ended the man's life. The beast fled with his body, but all wasn't over. The time-lord bides his time, watching and waiting.
Abraxia took her lamp back and vowed to keep it close. The circus was rebuilt under new management and life went on as normal, or as normal as it could get. Old acts passed, new acts came. Abraxia met her three companions and remained a permanent fixture on the skyline for hundreds and hundreds of years. They hopped planets, star-systems, performed on ships and for royalty, and once in a while, the circus visits Earth for one night only.
