The damn thing was clicking a second ago why wasn’t it doing it now. Groaning Audrey held the thing to her ear and shook it. “It’s times like this I really miss being just a standard medic.” Audrey jumped a little when the device started beeping again.
“Yes! We have a bleep ladies and gentleman” sure, everyone at the hub would have probably told her it was just a normal blip on the radar but if she could prove that she could track when the weevils came through maybe they’d…she didn’t know.
There was something different about Audrey, Jack had sniffed that out real quick, but what he’d found, he was keeping it to himself which, Audrey found incredible irritating. Shaking her head Audrey jerked herself out of her thoughts before she started grumbling and started following the bleeping again.
She rounded a corner, and stopped dead “Heh, it worked.” it was all she could do not to do a dance that her weevil tracker had worked.
Let it never be said that The Doctor couldn't simply throw articles of clothing together and making himself look like he'd just waltzed off a cat walk. Because he could. His normal attire was currently in shambles due to his last adventure, and wouldn't you know, he'd misplaced his companion on top of all that.
Now, normally he was dressed in a smart bottle green velvet frock coat, champagne colored waist coat and cravat and so on. Today was not one of those days. The Doctor was currently dressed in a rather tight pair of dark blue denim jeans, a white button down dress shirt and a black leather jacket. The jeans were obviously not his as every step seemed to take a good deal of effort with how tight they were. "Note to self", he mumbled uncomfortably, "In an emergency, Fitz's clothes are an ill fit."
Oh, he just knew he was never going to hear the end of it from Fitz when they met back up. But in the mean time, he had to track down the source of an anomaly that had sent his TARDIS off course. Fitz had gone one direction, on a hunch, while the doctor dashed off in another. The... tale of how The Doctor ended up with his companion's attire would have to be left for another time.
In any case, as luck would have it, the readings on his sonic device were blipping excitedly as he seemed to be nearing what he was looking fore when he rounded a corner and what should he find but a young redhead in his path. Normally he was much more light on his feet but the impossibly tight denim made the little smooth twirl he normally would have attempted leaving him to trip over his unyielding legs and pin the woman against the side of a building. "Oh dear, I'm terribly sorry!"
One minute Audrey was reaching into her pocket trying to grab her phone and call the hub about the weevils she’d tracked, the next some guy had her pinned against the side of a building "Oh dear, I'm terribly sorry!"
Audrey didn’t hear him she was to busy doing what came naturally to her, defending herself, bringing her knee up quickly aiming for his stomach not his groin. Always ready for a fight she held her fists up waiting for a next move in case there was going to be one having completely forgotten the Weevils for the time being. “You picked the wrong girl sunshine.”
The Doctor was about to try and find his footing and take a polite step back and apologize once more when he was met with a knee into the abdomen. He felt a sudden rush of air evacuate his lungs and the ability to stand seemed beyond him as he knees promptly hit the ground. One hand remained firmly planted against the building as he tried to will his lungs to allow air back in. After a moment, there was a sharp intake of air followed by a strained cough. And then a light if not somewhat awkward chuckle as he sheepishly looked up at her. “Yes, so it seems I have. I do apologize for any confusion.”
He took another slow drawn in breath to still his lungs for a moment before pushing himself to a stand and raked a hand through his short, but still rather unruly, hair. “I'm The Doctor, by the by. Sorry for the less than graceful introduction but I am in somewhat of a hurry... miss....?” he smiled, arching a brow at her.
“Yes, so it seems I have. I do apologize for any confusion.” After the man said this Audrey realized that him bumping into her really had been an accident “Oh, oh my god I’m so sorry.” she reached down and placed a hand on the mans shoulder.
Moving away slightly when he stood up “I'm The Doctor, by the by. Sorry for the less than graceful introduction but I am in somewhat of a hurry... miss....?” Without even thinking about it “Schofield, Audrey Schofield, Torchwood.” she didn’t know why but there was something about this guy Audrey couldn’t place it. “Again, really sorry.”

Her apology was politely waved away with an awkward smile as he straightened himself out, mostly with adjusting the black leather jacket. And he was about to gently continue onward with nothing more than a gracious smile after asking her name when he heard her last name and found himself stopping dead in his tracks and he just stared at her... Schofield? Where did he know that name from? It was right there on the tip of his tongue.
Well, now he simply found himself staring at the redhead, a bit conflicted. Now that he was looking at her, really looking at her. That was when it clicked.. “As in.. Thomas... Schofield?” Granted there was more than one Schofield in the universe but he was finding this situation rather ironic. “Oh psh, That doesn't matter, Sorry. Pleasure to meet you, Audrey. I'm The Doctor.... Oh.. I just said that, Didn't I..”

Theo happened upon the 2, somewhat out of breath but otherwise in good form. His concerned demeanor was overshadowed only by the twin 9mm handguns, holstered right up by his shoulders. Theo started to grab for them, but reassured himself that his cohort clearly had the situation under control. However, he still approached in a somewhat guarded manner.
"Audrey, I swear, you might be able to teach ME a thing or 2 about self-defense." He looked over at the Doctor as he started to chuckle. "Be careful with this one; she's a powder keg wrapped up in a sweet little girl." He looked at Audrey, then back at the Doctor before adding, "...Kinda."
"I've heard about this guy, this... Doctor..." Theo thought to himself while still surveying the situation. "Surely that's not... Him. Is it??" "I'm Theo, and I get the distinct feeling that perhaps we've met before??"
“As in.. Thomas... Schofield?” “Yeah that was my…” she started to say the he had been her father but stopped when The Doctor continued talking “Oh psh, That doesn't matter, Sorry. Pleasure to meet you, Audrey. I'm The Doctor.... Oh.. I just said that, Didn't I..” Audrey tilted her head a little and nodded thinking, wow this guys is a trip.“Yeah, you did, nice to meet you just the same.”
"Yes, you did, Doctor. Audrey, you alright?" she waved her hand a little in a dismissing gesture “I’m fine, nothing I can’t handle.” sometimes, Theos over protectiveness of her sorta reminded her of having an older brother.
"Be careful with this one; she's a powder keg wrapped up in a sweet little girl." He looked at Audrey, then back at the Doctor before adding, "...Kinda." Audrey looked to the sky and shook her head, saying softly “You accidentally blow up a lab one time and noooooo one lets you forget it.”
Taking the opportunity while Theo was talking Audrey went over were the Weevils had been to see what it was that had drawn their attention.
"Be careful with this one; she's a powder keg wrapped up in a sweet little girl.... Kinda."
“You accidentally blow up a lab one time and noooooo one lets you forget it.”
The Doctor couldn’t help the smirk that tugged across his lips as he eyed the two of them. “Now I wonder who that reminds me of.” he teased in light jest. She was too familiar to simply dismiss the possibility. He'd quite clearly heard her when she went to confirm his suspicions about her connection Hex when he gently cut her off. He was going to have to keep an eye on this redhead while he was around. He knew a child of Ace and Hex from a mile away. And he knew one thing for certain.. If Audrey so much as got a knee scrape while on his watch, Ace would thrash him barely to the point of regenerating before she'd be satisfied she got her point across.
"I'm Theo, and I get the distinct feeling that perhaps we've met before??”
“Oh There's a distinct possibility that's true.. Time Travel and all. But I think I can safely say this is my first encounter with you, Theo.” He chuckled a bit and glanced over his shoulder as Audrey went off to continue trying to track her quarry. It was.. ironically in the same direction he'd been heading chasing down an anomaly. He reached into his.. or rather.. Fitz's borrowed leather jacket to pluck up his sonic screwdriver and smirked as he followed behind Audrey
“So.. If you two will forgive my inquisitive nature.. what exactly are you looking for? Perhaps I could be of some assistance?"
“So.. If you two will forgive my inquisitive nature.. what exactly are you looking for? Perhaps I could be of some assistance?"
A damn good question, Theo thought to himself as he walked with Audrey, the Doctor close behind. "Doctor, I can assure you that Audrey and I have the situation under control." He looked around in a pensive manner, yet attempted to make it appear as if he was carefully surveying the situation. This was the first time that he had actually lost Audrey, and the situation was a little new, to say the least.
“You accidentally blow up a lab one time and noooooo one lets you forget it.” He looked across at Audrey as he strolled along, almost like an adult with no purpose. "Well, Schofield, when you blow up a laboratory to prove that transistors and resistors are two TOTALLY different things to someone, well... you don't exactly win said argument." He looked up towards the sky. "Although, it was funny to see Jack covered in soot from head-to-toe. Hahaha, he looked like a chimney sweep! HAAAA!!! How can I let you live that down? It's one of the greatest memories ever."
Theo turned back to the Doctor. "Ya know, I can't place your face... But I remember seeing you in another... I don't know, form?? No, that can't be right... I swear, this is going to sound stupid, but..." He dropped back from Audrey's side, So that he and the Doctor were on the same plane, "I feel like we've met... in another time, another place. Much different from this." He looked forward, back towards Audrey. "Ahhh, fishsticks, I've officially lost my mind, you'll have to forgive me. Unless you don't want to, in which case I've no control over that, so suit yourself. AUDREY!!!!" He shouted as he caught back up to her, leaving the doctor in the coattails.
“So.. If you two will forgive my inquisitive nature.. what exactly are you looking for? Perhaps I could be of some assistance?""Doctor, I can assure you that Audrey and I have the situation under control.” Audrey rolled her eyes a little at Theos comment “What my friend here means to say is yes, any help you can offer will be greatly accepted.” Audrey gently elbowed Theo in the ribs when he got over near her as a way of saying play nice. She went back to what she was doing while the two of them talked.
Taking a pocket knife out of a knife holder in her boot, moving around some of the garbage with it still looking for whatever it was that had attracted the weevils. “AUDREY!!!!" “Since it doesn’t hinder nor help the situation I see no reason for you to be screaming my name, Garrett.”
Audrey thought she hit something of substance so she reached forward “Ladies and Gentleman…or whatever.” she pulled the object out “We have a arm.”
"Doctor, I can assure you that Audrey and I have the situation under control.”
“What my friend here means to say is yes, any help you can offer will be greatly accepted.”
The Doctor chuckled softly as he raked his fingers through his unruly thick brown curls of hair, sweeping them away from his forehead. “Oh I certainly dont mean to intrude. It's simply that we seem to be on the same path. My TARDIS picked up a strange reading in the area and promptly brought us here. My companion went off in the other direction on a hunch, though I suspect he's simply trying to hunt down an old flame.” he replied with a smirk, implying he was joking.
"Ya know, I can't place your face... But I remember seeing you in another... I don't know, form?? No, that can't be right... I swear, this is going to sound stupid, but... I feel like we've met... in another time, another place. Much different from this.”
The Doctor canted his head to the side with a curious glance. “That would imply you've either met a former incarnation or possibly a future one. Though I imagine Fitz would be less than pleased to know there will eventually be a later version of me.” he tapped his chin thoughtfully as he mulled that over. It must have been a later incarnation, because The Doctor certainly didn't recognize this man. Even in the throes of amnesia, he could usually pick out certain familiarities. This Theo was giving him nothing.
“Ahhh, fishsticks, I've officially lost my mind, you'll have to forgive me. Unless you don't want to, in which case I've no control over that, so suit yourself. AUDREY!!!!"
“Since it doesn’t hinder nor help the situation I see no reason for you to be screaming my name, Garrett.. Ladies and Gentleman…or whatever.. We have a arm.”
The Doctor stooped down among the group as he observed the detached limb with a great deal of curiosity. It certainly didn't look like it belonged to anything that normally inhabited Earth. Three fat and darkly clawed fingers seemed to be tightly curled around something. “Ooh!” he chirped with a child like enthusiasm as he reached between the two of them to pry the item from the rigid fingers and plucked his sonic screwdriver from the inner pocket of Fitz's leather jacket. “Well, now.. How did that get here.. This isn't of Earthly origin.. How curious”
Audrey moved a little to the side when The Doctor reached between them to pry the item out fo the hand and nodded to Theo when he said he had to take care of some things back at the hub “Yeah, catch you later Theo.” “Well, now.. How did that get here.. This isn't of Earthly origin.. How curious” Audrey gently grabbed The Doctors wrist and moved his hand so she could also get a look at what was in his hand.
“Wait, what is that?” still holding onto The Doctors wrist with hers Audrey takes a finger and taps her nail on what seemed like small metal ball in his hand “Odd.” she tapped it again “Why would a weevil be carrying this.” letting go of him she looked at the arm that had been holding it once more.
The Doctor offered a casual shrug as he handed the bizarre item to Audrey. "They're weevils.. They hardly need rhyme or reason for their actions. I doubt they even realize what they have." He paused as he looked the device over. Admittedly, not even he was sure what he was looking at, only that what ever it was was powerful and potentially dangerous.
"Iiiiiii'd better hold onto that, Miss Schofield. Not that I don't trust your judgment but I don't think we need this little trinket falling into the wrong hands." he explained as he snatched it from her hands again and stuffed it down into one of his impossibly deep pockets and then offered his hand in a sort of 'walk with me' gesture.
"They're weevils.. They hardly need rhyme or reason for their actions. I doubt they even realize what they have." True, weevils weren’t the sharpest tools in the sheds but she had always thought they were smarter than they let on. Heck, they’d managed to find their way to earth in some form or another so there had to be some form of intelligence there, just probably on a different level then their own “Yeah, maybe.” she thought about it for a minute slowly rolling the ball around in her hands.
"Iiiiiii'd better hold onto that, Miss Schofield. Not that I don't trust your judgment but I don't think we need this little trinket falling into the wrong hands." Audrey puffed up her cheeks a little and blew the air out through her cheeks “You’re joking right?” but instead of arguing the issue further Audrey just shook her head and let it go.
When he offered Audrey his hand in the walk with me gesture she shrugged a little and took his offered hand. She didn’t have to be anywhere soon and she had recently developed the habit of wandering off on her own lately so she wouldn’t be missed for a while “Yeah, sure I’ve got time.”
