Venosian: As a species, Venosian are highly intelligent and intellectual. It is believed that in the same way that Humans and Apes once shared a common ancestor, that Gallifreyans/Time-Lords and Venosian once did too. They have much the same internal biology and even appear similar, but the main difference in a Venosians is that they have no gender and were very strong telepaths. Venosians are created with the mind and a blessing from the Alcturn (an amassed council of elite Venosians), giving rise to the slang term 'brain child'. Venosian society has no gender and they are a secretive race with not much known of their culture and customs. What little that was known of them was destroyed alongside Ventos IV, one of the first planets to go in the Time War, despite the Venosian taking no active part and being only since their planet was close to Gallifrey. Their race is now mostly considered 'extinct', save for a few isolated Venosians.

Physical Description: At a young age, Oni is known as male due to the shaven and 'boyish' appearance that the boss took to be male. It was also easier for a male to find work in the engineering/racing sector. When asked, however, he will always say he has no gender. Oni is always going to be short, and even at age twelve Oni is barely pushing average for 'his' age (4'10). He commonly appears in oil stained shirts and trousers with a cheeky grin on his face. His hair is either shaven or cropped short, and when working either with goggles (as above) or a hat covering it. Oni's eyes are a darker blue colour and his hair nearing black when it grows out. His voice (including his way of speaking and his accent) could be described as the 'East London-type' corner of the universe. 

Personality: Oni is a cheeky young child, every getting up to pranks and besieging people with infectious laughter. He hates people to be sad, and tries to make people that are sad happy in that innocent child-like way. Still very much a child by Venosian society (where individuals could live into the centuries), Oni hasn't grown up and shows no signs of wanting to. To an outsider, he appears vastly intelligent and a genius in mechanics, maths, physics and engineering which shows through in his apprenticeship and racing. Determined, sneaky and cheeky, his courage does sometimes fail and in that time he needs a few encouraging words. He is influenced by the moods of other people due to the telepathically sensitive nature of Venosians, and has that look that he knows more than he is letting on.

History: Oni was just a newborn when his homeworld, Ventos IV, was destroyed. His parents smuggled themselves and him out of the barrier that the Alcturn had set up and handed the baby over to an old merchant trader friend of theirs, Scipion. They made him promise to take care of the child for them and look after the boy as his own. It is unknown what happened to them after that, but all speculations were that they died in the time war along with Ventos IV. 

Oni grew up perfectly content on board the merchant's ship, becoming the bossman's apprentice and showing his genius with engineering and mechanics from a very early age. It was just him, Scipion and Ship (whose name was actually longer but baby Oni couldn't pronounce it, hence the nickname Ship). Oni's claim to fame was at six years old. There were bimonthly races in the underground circuit and with scrap metal supplied by Scipion, Oni set about building his own pod ship to race in. The Venosians were regarded as the best engineers and racers in the universe before their fall, and this trait was passed down onto Oni. Oni won the first race by a storm, and when not on ship duties, Oni's perfecting his pod ship and racing.

Addition Medical Information: Oni is fairly healthy as far as a Venosian is concerned. Aside from being slightly under-weight and with an aversion to matricite mineral, which interfered with the telepathy signals and induced headaches, something that affected all Venosians, Oni is fighting fit.
