Audrey clipped in a peg on the side of the rock she was climbing, “Ok Marco?” she shouted down to the guy she was teaching to climb. She’d chosen one that wasn’t very high so if he fell he wouldn’t do himself any damage, or at least she didn’t think he would. “Yeah, I’m good.”Audrey nodded and moved on to the next spot, she watched as he placed his rope onto the peg “There you go you’re doing great.”
Pulling herself on top of the rock she looked out over where they were, ok maybe this rock was higher than she had thought. Marco climbed up shortly after she did sitting next to her “How long you gonna be in town?”“I’m leaving after this lesson.”Marco sighed and Audrey knew were this was going and knew it was a good idea to knick it in the butt before it went any farther “Race you down.”
Audrey placed her feet on the rock and hung over the side a little “Now, they say the trick to this is not looking down, but what I’ve come to find out it’s more of a leaning back and doing what goes naturally,” Marco laughed a little and Audrey leveled him with a look that clears stated shut the hell up she leaned back a little “To jump.”she pushed backwards and jumped falling, probably farther than she should have before hitting the wall again with her feet, watching to see if he would be ok by himself.
Marco seemed to be making it fine so Audrey slowly started to make her way down. “Audrey!” Audrey jerked her head up looking to were Marco was above her as a golf ball sized rock came plummeting down and knocking her in the forehead.
Vortex Manipulators... You would think after ending up with half the scars he did from fooling around with time hopping around and landing in places he had no business being, he'd have gotten rid of it. But, not Leon. Leon had a lust for adventure and danger. He lived for the rush. But it was harder and harder to get that kick of adrenaline pumping because he was steadily getting used to the feeling and that was driving him mad.
So here he was on the side of a cliff. No ropes, no harness, just a borrowed satchel, a few knives, and his wits. Sure, Leon wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he knew how to get by. He went to make the first move to climb upwards when he heard a slight commotion above him and a few small rocks plummeting down at him. He sighed and looked up to see what the hell was going on..
What he saw was a flash of red hair and pair of hips coming down at him. Leon couldn't help but smirk as he tilted his head to the side and called up to her. "Going my way?" came that rather cheesy flirt.
Reaching up Audrey grabbed onto a small rock ledge above her to steady herself after the rock bopped her on the forehead “Ow.” reaching up she rubbed the spot on her forehead before looking up at Marco, “Marco, try to watch were you put your feet, next time it may be something worse than a little rock.”[/font]
Damn, that was gonna leave a head ache and Audrey didn’t have any painkillers on her that she wasn’t allergic to so she guessed she’d have to deal with it for the time being.
Rolling her neck she closed her eyes a little "Going my way?" Audrey opened her eyes quickly, looking over her shoulder “Oh, sorry mate.” funny, she didn’t remember seeing anyone on the rock face when she started down.
Moving over so she wasn’t right above the guy she slowly moved so she was on the slope next to him “No harness. Very brave.” She smiled a little.
Leon blinked at her curiously for a moment before that cocky smirk spread on his lips, It wasn't an adjective he was too used to hearing. 'stupid', ballsy', or 'insane' was what he heard most often, but he wasn't about to shrug off a compliment. “Ah, Merci!” he chirped as he dug his feet cautiously into the ledge, anchoring himself. That was when he noticed a bit more small flecks of rubble tumbling their way and he glanced up.
“Eh.. Your boyfriend seems to be having some trouble.” he politely pointed out.
“Eh.. Your boyfriend seems to be having some trouble.” Audrey sighed a little rolling her eyes, softly “He isn’t my boyfriend.” anchoring her heels Audrey looked up “How’s it going Marco?”
Marco stammered for a moment “Umm, I dunno, I can’t seem to find a good footing Audrey” he started to place his foot on a rock, Audrey saw it before he placed his foot, the rock he was about to step on was loose, really loose “No, Marco, not that one.” to late, as soon as she said that Marco placed his foot on top of the rock. Leon had been right Marco was having a harder time then she thought he would.
“Excuse me for a second, seems you were right he is having problems.” quickly she started to climb, trying to get to Marco before he really stepped in the wrong place and fell.
A devilish smirk crept across his lips as he tilted his head to the side. “Oh no? My apologies. I didn't mean to imply anything.” He glanced upwards to Follow Audrey's gaze as Marco seemed to be losing his footing. Poor sod. But those keen eyes noticed more than that. Something was wrong with Marco's harness. One of the buckles had come undone. If he did slip, the sudden force of the harness catching him would be enough to slip the buckle apart and.. well.. Marco would go splat.
“Oy! His harness.. You won't get to him in time!” he shouted to her. He wedged his feet into the rocky ledge to anchor himself before fidgeting with the vortex manipulator. He only needed to move upwards a few feet and get Marco Polo before his insides decorated the land below. He slapped his hand onto the manipulator and phased out, reappearing beside Marco. “Allo” he chirped, startling the poor man. Marco let go to flail in surprise and lost his footing. Leon reached out to grasp him by his shirt front. “It's a long way down, Mon Ami”
“Oy! His harness.. You won't get to him in time!” Audrey started to climb before she responded Audrey was fast but even she knew she wasn’t fast enough “No, but I can at least try.”
She didn’t really hear what the guy said she was too focused on climbing, as fast and as safe as she possible could.
Hearing Marco lose his footing she thought the worse was about to happen but when she looked up she saw the guy that had been down below with her above her now “…how?” she shook her head it didn’t matter at the moment. Seeing as the guy had Marco for the moment Audrey proceeded to climb back up where they were.
When she got up to where they were Marco looked sideways at her then cautiously at the stranger holding him by his shirt “Umm Audrey?” “Questions later Marco.” reached over and started to fix his harness.
Leon just smirked as he held Marco by his shirt front while Audrey clasped him back in. He gave a wolfish grin and leaned in, pulled poor Marco closer. “That was an awfully bold move. Pretending to be in danger just so I'd come rescue you.” he chuckled, their faces so close he could have nearly kissed him if he moved his lips just right. He them decided to let go of Marco's shirt and let gravity handle the rest now that his harness was resecured.
He then casually leaned over and waggled his eyebrows at Audrey. “So.. You two wanna go the slow way down, or you wanna go down, my way?” he offered, tapping the device on his wrist. “Be faster.. safer.. and a lot more fun.”
“That was an awfully bold move. Pretending to be in danger just so I'd come rescue you.” Audrey couldn’t help but roll her eyes a little seeing Leon flirt with Marco, not because she was jealous, because she wasn’t. It was just, there was a time and a place for everything and this was neither. Pulling on the strap a little after she got the harness secured. “There.”
Raising an eyebrow at Leon when he waggled his eyebrows at her and asked if they wanted to go down his way, looking down at the device that he tapped Audrey froze something, something about what he had on his arm it was like that was all she could see. “Be faster.. safer.. and a lot more fun.” she’d seen an addict once and right now she wondered if this was what they had felt like. “Yes.” she looked up at Leon not even having to think twice about his question “What do you mean?”
Poor Marco never fully got the question out of his mouth when Léon just grinned his feral grin. He made a few adjustments on the device strapped to his wrist clicking his tongue as he did so, and took a set of knives from either boot and looked between the two of them. "Okay, Ready? One, Two Three, GO!" he rattled off in a single breath, not even pausing to give them a chance to brace themselves. He cut the cables on their harnesses and the three of them began plummeting to the ground.
Léon let out a whoop of excitement as they fell, being sure two hold the other two rather close to them. He needed to be holding them for the device to carry them all to safety. What he wasn't telling them was that he wasn't going to activate it until the last possible second before 'impact'. "This is fun, Non?" he shouted over the rush of the air.
When Audrey saw Leons hand go for the cables she realized how he was gonna go about doing this “No wait!” to late, she could feel the wind on her face and Marco screaming as they fell towards the ground.
Ok, this was getting a little too close for comfort “Umm, in case we die.” she shouted over the wind “Names Audrey.” Audrey’d never been one for praying but all of the sudden she couldn’t help but pray she hadn’t just got Marco and herself mixed up with some nutter just because she had a feeling.
He was grinning like a maniac as they fell, his arms wrapped tightly around the two of them despite Marco's terrified shrieking and flailing. “Leonardo!” he shouted over the rush of air and quickly followed up with “But everyone calls me Leon!”. To say that he wasn't enjoying himself would be an outright lie. The adrenaline that was pumping through his hearts was almost as exhilarating as the rush he got from the fall.
There came a slight disappointed sigh when he realized he would have to activate the Vortex Manipulator and enure a safe landing. He let go of Marco and twisted the dial on his arm and he and Audrey were safe on the ground. He glanced around, somewhat confused, realizing Marco was missing before he realized... He'd let go of the poor man. He looked up and smirked and gently nudged Audrey back and he held out his arms and held his breath, readying himself to catch the flailing and screaming Marco.
When Marco landed in his arms, there was a loud pop as he dislocated his shoulder. He was starting to wish he'd never learned that trick. He set Marco onto his feet and just leaned against the cliff side and held his shoulder with a slight grimace. “We'll that was fun”
“Leonardo! But everyone calls me Leon!” Audrey nodded her voice gaining a little bit of volume as the ground rushed up to meet them “Nice to meet you Leon!” she held her breath readying herself to slam into the ground.
When she opened her eyes again Audrey was quiet surprised to find she wasn’t dead, smashed on the ground. She started to laugh but stopped “Wait, where’s Marco?” looking up she saw Marco falling towards them as Leon gently nudged her back and prepared to catch Marco.
Audrey flinched when she heard the pop of Leons shoulder when he caught Marco, “We'll that was fun” when Leon sat him down Audrey went into medic mode mostly because of Leons shoulder secondly cause Marco looked like the poor man was going to pass out. Moving over to Marco, Audrey placed a hand on his forearm directing him to sit down “Marco, Marco look at me I’m going to need you to sit down and put your head between your legs, ok?” he nodded and she helped him sit down placing her hands out his for a second she made him close his hands and make a fist “Clench your fist as hard as you can.”
Moving over to Leon she leaned forward a little and lightly kissed his cheek as a thank you for catching Marco, “Do you want me to relocate your shoulder for you?”
