Nickname: Leia
Age: 18 (Can be any age for threads)
Gender: Female
Species: Partly Time Lady, partly Human
Planet of Origin: Earth
Occupation: works at Emmy’s clock shop
Physical Description: Leia was a beautiful little girl with curly, strawberry blond hair and sweet freckles seated on her rosy cheeks. Her eyes were her most noted feature, one vivid green eye beside a vivid blue one. She had a sweet smile that never ended and fingers that always seemed sticky with something just as sweet.
When Leia grew into a teenager, you could tell that she took after her mother. Pale skin, freckles, Her facial structure was very close, down to the crooked smile. However, she definitely has her father’s nose and sometimes... when she’s quiet... she has an eerily similar expression that’ll remind anyone who knows her father of him. She's a little taller than average with a thin figure.
Personality: As a toddler, Leia was normally very well behaved, one of those kids you’ll occasionally see in the grocery store and people stop and ask the parent, “How do you do it?!”
Ever since Leia could remember, she daydreamed of her father. A man she never met, who was missing out on her, who loved her. Her daddy. When other girls played house, they pretended they had a husband. When Leia played house, she always had to have a daddy. Emmy, her mother, was not shy in telling her the story. About who she was and where her father came from. Leia couldn’t help but believe. Believe that he was in the stars. Watching down on her. And every time she caught sight of a shooting star, she’d make the same wish every time.
As a teenager, Leia changed a lot. She’s very self conscious and easily embarrassed. Leia hates adventures and just wants to live day in and day out as a normal human teenager. She wants to forget her alien heritage and grows more rebellious against her mother with each passing day. What didn’t change when she hit puberty, is her dreaming nature. Though her dreams get set aside from time to time, when she’s tearing her hair out in frustration with her mother (whom she is dead certain doesn’t understand her,) she’ll write letters to her daddy. Dreaming and hoping that one day he’ll come for her.
Growing into an adult, she’s still insecure, but keeps the dramatics in her own heart and deals with them quietly. Leia tries to be her own person, but is more accepting of her alien self around her mother and lets her drag her into ridiculous situations. She does, however, still feel lost and unsure with who she is and what she should do with her life. A passion never found.
History: Evelina Leia Bergstöm was born prematurely to a single, human mother who had a one night stand with a hybrid human/time lord. Because of her premature arrival, Both of Leia’s two hearts did not fully develop. But with both hearts pumping, she appeared well enough to fool the doctors into believing that she was healthy. The morning the doctor was about to discharge them, Leia was found with a weak pulse and a fading heartbeat. By the time they stabilized her, she was a frightful tinge of blue. Her left heart was too small and and she had to be placed in an incubator for an entire week, before her body was able to regulate itself. Her right heart grew in strength and normalized, but her left heart never quite caught up in size.
When she came home, she seemed impossibly small and fragile. But she was well guarded by her mother. Leia wasted no time in growing into a large baby, eventually to the point that people were surprised when Emmy, her mother, told them that she was in fact a premature baby.
Ever since Leia was little, her mother told her proudly about her father. The fact that he was alien, meaning that she was alien. She pointed out all of Leia’s alien features, and quite possibly made a few up. She’d share confidently with her friends all that her mum told her and they never believed her. It didn’t matter though, everything seemed magical.
Going to school for the first time was a rude awakening for Leia. Not all of the other kids were nice to her. At least her teachers seemed to like her.... at first. Her family doted on her and told her how clever she was and how pretty she was... but her school seemed to fail to see this. Instead of fawning over her eyes like her family did, the other kids thought they were creepy. Instead of coming home with good grades, Leia’s progress in school was poor. She decidedly hated school the second she found out what “bring your father to school day” was.
She just didn’t seem to click in school. Her mom would always encourage her at home, but the second she stepped inside the building, she felt like a prisoner. Leia soon found herself being the only student her age who couldn’t read and one day, as she waited in the art room for her mum to arrive so she and her teacher could speak about Leia’s slow development, she overheard her teacher talking with the principle. She’ll never forget the words that sent a feeling of failure slamming down on her like a hammer.
”I’ve never had a student so incapable of learning. This is beyond late blooming, she’s hopeless.”
When mum finally arrived, she didn’t want to hear anything her teacher had to say. She came back into the room and took her baby girl home with an indignant look on her face. It wasn’t long before mum picked up on Leia's sudden lack of interest in learning anything at all. She tried to help Leia as usual, but the night soon drew into a frustrated mess leaving both with headaches. The two were at a standstill. Mum not giving up on her daughter and daughter having given up totally. With bedtime nearing, Leia told her mum that she needed to give up on her, that she couldn’t learn. Mum asked her where in the world she got that idea, she had a feeling, but wanted to know for sure. Leia was worried that she would be in trouble, somehow, for confessing what she heard her teacher say.
The next day that teacher was nearly deafened with all that Leia’s mum had to say.
Everyone seemed to become focused on Leia, trying to solve why she seemed to be failing to learn some things yet why she was so good at other things. It wasn’t very long after that they found out that Leia was rather dyslexic.
Now that Leia did not feel like a hopeless case, school became easier. More and more, she became independent and the more she succeeded, the more she found that she actually enjoyed even the tedious subjects such as math and science.
Leia thought that now she wasn’t the dunce of the whole world, she’d fit in a little better with her peers. It didn’t work that way. She had freckles. She was gangly. And she was ginger enough for the kids to start the name calling. She did make a few close friends, but all of them turned on her the minute they started feeling some of the bullying. The other kids couldn’t seem to get over her eyes.
Her mother was adamant that Leia was the most perfect little girl in the whole world, and Leia came to believe that she was the most imperfect, freakishly tall girl in the whole world. This led to Leia believe that her mother point blank did not understand her. That somehow she couldn’t see that she wasn’t happy being part alien.
She became less forgiving and more and more frustrated. The closer she came to achieving normalcy, the more she craved it. Leia made friends, but kept them back in fear they would find out she wasn’t normal. Was that a spaceship crashing into the heart of London? Nope. Lets go... do something people do.
The only saint in her life seemed to be her father. This man that she had slowly turned into this ideal father figure whose only mistake was leaving her without a father.
It’s strange trying to figure out how to start your life when you’ve believed it ended long ago. Leia still has inner demons to face but she faces them. Her father remains a mystery in her life, but she speaks little of him now, keeping her dreams to herself and focuses on the family she does know and love.
Addition Medical Information: Two hearts, one is weak. If the regeneration cycle is triggered, she has a 95% chance of failure. This also lowers her immune system as she constantly seems to have a cough or cold.
