Big.
That's the first thing you notice. You'd never think about it, just sitting at home. You don't even think about it when you see pictures. But, in person, it's the only thing you can think of.
The Earth is very, very big.
Olivia blinked in the light of the Earth, not really able to comprehend the sheer mass of what she was seeing. It was the entire planet, and she.... She was on the moon... How'd she end up here? How'd her day go from the perfectly normal surroundings of her apartment, to here? Well...
It's a long story. And it all started, with a phone call.------
The alarm clock wailed. "... I'm up..." Her fingers smacked on the end table, fumbling around for the alarm clock. She finally found it, and smacked it repeatedly on the end table. After it finally shut up, she sighed. Alright Olivia... Time to face the day... Put on some makeup and a face that's eager.
Good luck with that!
Olivia tumbled out of bed. It wasn't that she didn't love her job. She loved her job. It was just... Well... She didn't love the people. She didn't love people in general. Too touchy, too talky, too... Everything. Obsessed with TV, work, and their wrecks of lives. She just wanted a decent cup of coffee and internet... But she couldn't make money like that, so she'd have to settle with a career.
Olivia pulled herself across the carpet, until she made it to her bathroom. "Olivia, you'll never get to work at this rate. Get off your lazy ass and do something." She yanked herself to her feet, and groaned, catching sight of herself in the mirror. She looked like absolute crap. She was definitely taking a shower.------
It was my daily routine of fighting with myself, and not really getting much accomplished. Welcome to my life...------
Olivia drank coffee, while at the same time getting on her heels, and grabbing her purse. She was so going to be late. Mr. Ryder was definitely going to fire her if she kept this up...
Then, her phone rang. Wonderful. Olivia dug around in her purse, before pulling out her phone. She slid her finger across the screen, and wedged the phone between her ear and shoulder. "Before you say anything, yes, I'm probably going to-" "Olivia, I need you to get down to Downing Street." "Downing? I'm on my way."------
After a lot of traffic, and some rather choice words, I got myself to Downing Street. Apparently, some sort of protest was going on outside the Prime Minister's. That's really not even remotely important. The most important thing, was who I met there. And how the heck I came to be here...------
Olivia pulled out her camera, taking a few snapshots of the rioters. "At least Ryder won't be on me about being late... But I get to babysit this until something newsworthy stands out. Hope something happens soon."
