Nothing was going to go wrong. Absolutely, nothing!
Clara Oswin Oswald, was going to have an uneventful vacation with the Doctor, even if it killed her! She was tired of dealing with alien threat this, and timey wimey collapse that! She was going to sit on a beach, have a fruity drink, and relax! And if the Doctor had a problem with that, he could leave her there, and come back in a few hours... Maybe days... Maybe a week. Two at most. Three tops.
Clara stepped out of the TARDIS, and was hit with the smell of salt in the air... She loved the beach. Loved it to death. It was one of her favorite places to travel to. But not the beaches where she was from. Tropical ones. Bright blue sky, and clear water... And the Doctor had found a planet covered with them.
She pulled her suitcase out of the TARDIS, and walked over to the beach side hotel. Clara definitely wasn't going to wait for the Doctor. A man, definitely cute, strode over. "Would you like help with your bags?"
"If it's not too much trouble..." She batted her eyelashes, as he took her suitcase. This place was already lots of fun. Clara led the man over to the front desk, where she ordered the finest room they had. Clara knew she'd never be able to pay for it... Also knew that she didn't know how her currency transferred into theirs. But, she had her skeleton key with her. She reached into her purse, and pulled out the Doctor's psychic paper.
It was rather easy to get. She had grabbed it when he had taken off his jacket. Never knew when it could come in handy. And it was working right now! "Oh, my word! Lady Isabele! Right this way!" She loved this little piece of paper.
Soon, she was closing the door behind her, and grinning at the most beautifully designed room she had ever laid eyes on. Clara immediately ran over, and dove on the bed. And it, was, soft! This was the best hotel she'd ever been in. Hands down! Clara immediately stripped off the dress, and let her hair down. There! She was in a bikini, she was looking insanely gorgeous, if she did say so herself, and there was a-There was a porch right outside her room. With a hot tub. This was, officially, the best hotel, ever. In history. Game. Set. Match.
Clara strode out the french doors, and breathed in the salty air. It was wonderful. She immediately got into the hot tub, and got to relaxing. She knew it wouldn't be long before the Doctor found her, and immediately began going on and on, about this and that, before finally coming to the conclusion that he was completely bored, and needed something to do. She'd been through this before. Might go through it easier with a fruity drink...
With a quick call, she had just what she desired, and sank deeper into the bubbly water...
The Doctor strode out the TARDIS doors, carrying a small suitcase behind him. Of course it looked small on the outside, but on the inside it had the equivalent space of a wardrobe. Gotta love Time Lord science. He took in a deep breath, running a hand through his hair. Planet Paradise. Ironic name, now that he thought of it. A whole planet filled with beaches, resorts, and other vactiony items. He thought he owed Clara a bit of a break after the time line incident. And what better place for a vacation then Planet Paradise! A resort the size of a planet, literary.
He walked over to the beach side hotel, momentarily stopping in the lobby in search of Clara. Of course she wasn’t there. Typical. He spotted a bell hop near the elevator, and waved him down. “ Excuse me! Have you seen a woman about this high,” He indicated with his hand Clara’s height, just below his shoulder. “ Feisty, probably flirted with you in a subtle, not so subtle, manner.” The Doctor wrung his hands together waiting for a reply. The bell hop gave him a room number on the very top floor, indicating towards a elevator. The Doctor nodded his head in thanks, and made his way to the lift.
The Doctor found the room that Clara had chosen and walked in. He looked around, he noticed a sitting room off to the side with a couch, some arm chairs, and a coffee table. He decided that he would probably be sleeping on the couch, if the bedroom didn’t have two beds that was. He set his suitcase down on the couch, and ran over to the terrace hopping out onto it.
“Clara! How are you liking Planet Paradise? Wait no don’t answer that…” The Doctor went over to the railing, leaning over it to look at the people below. “How did you manage to get a room on the very top of the hotel?” He leaned back , and looked out over the beach. Miles of sand, followed by miles and miles of ocean. “Do you want to down to the beach? I heard that the have surfing, but without the surfing part.” The Doctor hopped up and down excitedly. There was so much to do while they were there. He didn’t need monsters, and danger to keep him entertained.
And there he was! The man of the hour! "What're you talking about?" Clara tapped her chin. A coy smile decorated her face. "Lady Isabele always gets what she wants!" She picked up the psychic paper and fanned herself with it. She just watched him hop around like a kid in a candy store. She liked doing things on vacation. Just, not as soon as they got there. Vacations were meant for relaxation. She didn't understand the people who wanted to do nothing but everything when they went somewhere.
Surfing without surfing? She kind of wanted to go just to see how in the hell that worked. Kind of. For now, this bubbly drink and bubbly water sang such a beautiful song. "I'll go to the beach later, Doctor. I'm in the middle of me time." Me time was always the best time. Except for souffle time. That was pretty great, too.
“Lady Isabelle…” The Doctor looked confused for a second, then opened his mouth in a silent ‘Oh’ when he saw his psychic paper. Then that ‘Oh’ turned into a look of astonishment. “How did you get that?” He quickly snatched it away from her, shoving it in his jacket pocket where it belonged. He looked at her slightly confused. Me time? But me time inferred spending time with yourself, alone, with only me, myself, and I. No Doctor.
“Oh, right. Me Time.” He paused for a second, looking at the ground. Then hoped out of his seat, walking towards the door. He would was going to go have fun without Clara. He didn’t need a companion by his side all the time for that. Maybe he would play tennis. That was the sport with the sticks right? He would find out soon enough anyway.
Drat, he took the psychic paper back. Oh well. If she found something that needed her Ladyship, she'd just find his jacket and take it again. He seriously wasn't going to go to the beach in his suit, right?
You know what, that actually wouldn't be that weird. The Doctor's certainly done stranger. Getting into the ocean or something wearing his clothes wouldn't be out of the picture of things he'd do. Clara sipped the drink and began twirling the umbrella in another hand. He couldn't get into that much trouble on his-
Clara's eyes widened. The problem was, he could. The Doctor could get into all kinds of trouble if Clara wasn't there to pull the wool over his eyes on any possible problems. Me time would have to wait. "On second thought, Doctor, maybe surfing without water might be fun. I think I'll join you." So, she'd have to do stuff on her vacation. Eh... If the Doctor was there, it'd certainly be fun. Maybe she was looking at this wrong. This would be a fun day. Embrace it, Clara!
The Doctor brightened as Clara agreed to come with him. He knew she wouldn't just sit around doing nothing the whole vacation, wheres the fun in that? He picked up a activity brochure next to the door, and quickly leafed through it. Sadly, their anti-gravity machine is currently out of order.. so they would just have to pick something else to do. There was plenty of activities to choose from anyway!
He tossed the brochure aside, and turned towards Clara. Sense this was really Clara's vacation, he decided to let her choose their activity. "What do you want to do? This is your vacation." The thought that Clara might want to spend the vacation by herself, never crossed the Doctor's mind. He never thought of things like that, he always thought that his companions enjoyed spending time with him, no matter where they were.
What did Clara want to do? Well, since having time to herself was completely out of the question... Spa. There was a spa in this place, and they were going to go there. "Let's go to the spa. Get a massage, relax... Think you can handle that, O might Doctor? The thought of the Doctor being completely relaxed was an interesting thought. An almost impossible thought. One she eagerly awaited to see.
