Little White Lies

Oops. Another lie had left Kitty's lips before she could really stop it and she kind of shrugged sheepishly and just went along with it. Lately, Kitty had...sort of been telling these teeny, tiny lies just to get out of trouble...any average 15 year old would. Like that time where Kitty accidentally robbed a chocolate store. It genuinely was an accident...her friend dragged her out and Kitty had no time to put the chocolate bar down...and although (miraculously) nobody had noticed as the shop was so busy, Kitty had still made an excuse that it had been given to her by someone else, on the account of the fact that at the time, she'd gone out with no money. But still, Kitty had managed to worm her way out of yet another sticky situation, by telling someone she had no money. All she'd done was pick up a stray note on the floor! How was she to know somebody had come back for it? Then the person let her keep it. Kitty had a guilty conscience, but she'd nodded, stammered a thank you and, as soon as she was around a corner, took off at a run just in case anybody had seen her.
When she had run for at least five minutes, she skidded to a halt, flopping down on a hill in the park. She found herself near a willow tree, so she crawled towards it and leaned against the tree. A relieved sigh left her lips, but when her eyes found the twenty pound note in her hand, she felt another pang of guilt. Kitty folded the note up, and slipped it into her pocket, laying one leg down while pulling the other one upwards and resting her arm on her knee. This place was rather relaxing, and allowed Kitty to think without being interrupted. Well, the thought that was originally what she had wanted, but then as soon as her thoughts began to float around her mind she realized perhaps this wasn't such a good idea. Oh great. Kitty looked around, her eyes now seeking a distraction. She really did need to control her own mind. But it seemed impossible at times.
