Name: The Doctor (8th Incarnation)
Age: 967 (give or take)
Gender: Male
Species: Gallifreyan / Time Lord
Planet of Origin: Gallifrey
Occupation: Helping People.
Physical Description: He has long wavy fine brown hair, stands at 5'9”, about 185 lbs, and has a charming smile. The doctor has three possible eye colors. When he regenerated, he possessed brilliant blue eyes, but when the Faction Paradox altered his biodata, they became green. He has since resolved this issue, but his eyes now have a tendency to fluctuate between these colors depending on mood.
When he is in his default Doctorish mood or even being sentimental, they are that brilliant pale blue. The Doctor is als prone to bouts of Amnesia. When he has forgotten something, this leaves him bewildered and cunfused and it shows in his eyes. They become a deep shade of green. It is when his eyes turn gray that people should begin to worry. The Doctor is normally so calm and placid but when he is truly angered, those eyes turn a steely cold gray.
The 8th doctor's attire is distinctly of the Victorian era. He wears a green velvet frock coat (or blue velvet depending on either time line or circumstances), a silvery champagne waist coat with a matching colored cravat, his fob watch and on rare occasion, a black top hat.
Personality: With an almost school boy enthusiasm, this doctor is a bit more of a romantic than in his previous lives and is more open with his admiration of humans. He also has a bad habit of giving people hints about their future, while trying not to divulge too much. He has a habit of repeating someone's name when trying to get a point across or when getting overly excited. The Doctor also has a fondness for Penguins. The Doctor can play the violin, harpsichord, flute, transverse cello, harp, banjo, theremin, wobbleboard and the piano. He also has quite a bit of experience at pickpocketing.
History: This incarnation of The Doctor had a rough start. His 7th incarnation was shot in the crossfire of two rival Chinese-American youth gangs. When he was rushed to the hospital, he was put under anesthesia before he could explain that he had two hearts and that surgery was not a good idea. The doctor performing his surgery, Grace Holloway, ended up killing him.
He was placed in the hospital morgue where he regenerated into his 8th life. He unfortunately awoke with acute amnesia caused by the anesthetic. This also triggered his hear of hospitals. As he tried to come to terms with his identity, old personality quirks would seep through. He, on a few noted occasions, offered people Jelly Babies. After yet another battle with The Master, The Doctor began to regain his memories, bit by bit.
After leaving Earth to continue his travels, one misadventure cost him the loss of his second heart. This incident caused him to have a much darker outlook, as he was more easily ruled by his passion. This also made him prone to panic attacks as he was not used to a single heart beat. He eventually regained his second heart, but the experience permanently changed him, personality wise.
On two separate occasions, after a battle, The Doctor awoke with amnesia. It's believed, due to how his 8th incarnation started, he was prone to this issue. Another adventure lead to the death of his Great-Grandson, and two companions. After that, unable to bear the loss, it was a very long time before he took on another companion. But his loneliness overpowered him and he began traveling with companions once more.
The Doctor was later held prisoner for over a month on an unknown planet. With the help of a Malmooth named Chantir he managed to overpower the prisons guards and escape. He then managed to obtain the Great Key of Rassilon. The Doctor planned to use the key to activate a De-Mat Gun that would lock the Medusa Cascade and bring an end to the war. The device the Doctor created with the Great Key was called the Moment, which the Doctor used to destroy the Daleks and the Time Lords and place a time-lock on the War. Some time shortly after this misadventure, he died alone, and the story of the 9th Doctor began.
Additional medical information: He has a fear of hospitals due to his "birth trauma" and is terrified of heights. At some point in his life, he loses one of his hearts. There is a long scar on his chest from the 'operation' and the single heart often leaves him prone to panic attacks and being slightly more irritable. He eventually got his second heart back, but it changed him forever. Other than that, perfectly normal Time Lord.
Role Play Sample:
The Doctor had decided to make a leisurely visit to a local zoo. The wildlife of Earth fascinated him. The exhibit he enjoyed the most was the primate enclosure. There was a large walk through enclosure where the monkeys ran freely. These particular monkeys, Spider Monkeys, Rhesus Monkeys, Tamarins, and other similar species hooted and swung jovially through the trees of the man-made enclosure. He chuckled as he mused over the idea that a good many of his companions had evolved from these playfully mischievous creatures.
He glanced up at the glass dome of the enclosure. It let in the natural sunlight, but prevented the monkeys from running loose in the rest of the zoo. As he admired the glass dome, he sighed in remembrance of the glass dome that encased the capital citadel on Gallifrey. He leaned onto a railing that was alongside a man made lake and took out his fob watch absently and ran his fingers along the edge, thinking of his home.
He glanced at the railing and noticed a young Rhesus Monkey staring at him, occasionally eying the shiny fob watch. The Doctor chuckled softly and presented the watch. It was clipped to his waist coat so there was no harm in letting the young monkey amuse itself with the watch. “Oh, You like that? Yes, it's a rather fascinating item.”
He smiled with wide eyed whimsy as the young monkey eagerly took the watch and looked it over before putting the watch into it's mouth like it had found a delicious tidbit. “Oh, Now, see here, It's not food.” He reached to try and gingerly take the watch back only to be screeched at. “There's no need to make a fuss.” But when The Doctor made a second attempt to get it back, the young monkey took off, watch firmly gripped. When the monkey hit the end of the chain to the fob watch, the clip snapped, and the monkey made a break for it.
It took a moment to register what had just happened. He brought up both his hands to his face with an exasperated groan. He began to run after the little fellow when he was stopped by a zoo attendant. “I'm sorry sir, but the zoo is closing. You can always come back tomorrow. We open promptly at 10 in the morning.”. The Doctor stuttered for a moment. He couldn’t just leave his watch. “Oh, yes well.. See, I.. The thing is, Miss...” He looked down at her name tag and smiled. “Miss Susan.. You know I have a Granddaughter named Susan!” Susan arched a brow at him and laughed softly shaking her head. “You dont look old enough to be a grandfather.” The Doctor beamed at her, taking that as a most gracious compliment. “Why Thank you! Well see. Once of your little friends seems to have made off with a rather precious item of mine. I very much need it back”
Susan shook her head, a look of apology in her face but she replied rather sternly “I do apologize sir, but the sign at the entryway clearly states to keep all personal belongings secure. The zoo can not be held responsible for-” But the Doctor politely interjected “ Yes, yes, yes, I understand. But.. perhaps.. You could.. er.. Give me a moment to try and get it back?” He gave her the most pleading look, his lips threatening to pout.
Susan groaned at the puppy face and shook her head. “Oooooh. Alright.. I'll give you five minutes! After that, I really must ask you to leave.” The Doctor danced lightly in place as he took Susan's hands. “Oh Thank you! I wont be long at all!” and promptly took off after the young monkey who had nixed his watch. Susan chased closely after him, making sure no harm came to any of the primates in the exhibit.
It only took a moment of searching before he found the the young monkey, still holding the watch and being groomed by what he assumed was it's mother. The Doctor looked up at them, hands on his hips as he pondered the situation. The doctor then took off his frock coat and folded it neatly over a nearby railing and rubbed his hands together looking up at the tree. He the grabbed a lower hanging branch and began his climb. Susan gasped and interjected “Oh, Sir, You really shouldn't-” The Doctor smiled down at her, a slight look of unease on his face. “If it's all the same to you, Miss Susan, I really need to concentrate.” Susan put her hands on her hips and started again “But, sir there's no need, if you'd let-” But the Doctor butted in once again. “Miss Susan, if you please!”
Susan crossed her arms over her chest and shifted her weight to one foot and shook her head at him. The Doctor began to climb up the tree and cautiously made his way over to the branch where the little furry hooligan sat with his watch. The Doctor's hands were trembling as he inched onto the branch, taking every care not to look down. He was not fond of heights. The Doctor was now only a foot or so from the little monkey and reached out to grasp his watch. The monkey swatted at his outstretched hand and gracefully leaped to another branch. This caused The Doctor to lose his balance and plummet to the ground. Fortunately there was a large bust to break his fall, although his shirt was now ripped on the right sleeve.
Susan just chuckled at him and ran over the help him back onto his feet. “As I was saying sir.. If you'll allow me..” The Doctor looked at her with a curious glance. Susan put a small long whistle to her lips and blew it softly and called the little monkey. “Angel! C'mere, love! Who's a good girl?” And placed a bit of banana from her side pouch into her mouth. The small rhesus monkey, Angel ran up to Susan and climbed to sit on her shoulder and took the banana from her mouth with her small teeth. While Angel was distracted with the banana, Susan gently pried the watch from her little hands and smiled. Angel had a look of betrayal and defeat on her face as her recently acquired shiny was taken away. Angel then scampered away to climb back up the tree.
The Doctor just gawked at her a moment and smiled brightly. “Brilliant! Thank you, Miss Susan!” Susan just laughed and shook her head at him as she escorted him out of the exhibit after he had reclaimed his watch and frock coat. Once he was gone, Susan muttered under her breath as she closed down the exhibit. “Lunatic”
