Name: Clara Oswald
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Planet of Origin: Earth
Occupation: English teacher
Physical Description: Clara Oswald is a short woman of 5'1, with dark brown hair cut to just above her shoulders. She has pale skin, a slim build and is often seen wearing skirts, heels and leather jackets. Most of the time she wears a bracelet or a necklace to complete her look, along with her mother's ring, which never leaves her finger. She has arched eyebrows and an oval-shaped face, but her eyes draw the most attention. Wide, dark brown eyes, within which most of her emotions display like a movie if you look hard enough.
Personality: Clara is a brave, stubborn and feisty individual. She's independent, open-minded and thoughtful, and incredibly protective over those she cares about. Her curiosity and tendency to "shoot first, ask questions later" will one day land her in trouble, but as that day has not yet arrived, she still follows her instincts into dangerous situations. Although very loyal, she's not afraid to tell even her closest friends when she doesn't agree with them, because she feels honesty is the most important thing in any kind of relationship, or any kind of situation. She's a very patient woman most of the time, but she's also quite bossy and can sometimes act like a control freak, although she'd deny this if anybody ever called her out on it. She has a tendency to flirt with danger -- actually, a tendency to flirt with just about everyone. When she's angry, she can often lose her temper and her words will cut like knives, but when she later apologizes, it's genuine -- her pride doesn't often allow her to apologize unless she's 100% certain that she crossed the line.
Clara has a very friendly and playful personality, coming across as bubbly and outgoing to most people she meets -- depending on the situation, of course. She has self-confidence, sometimes to the point of slight arrogance, but ultimately her privatized insecurities prevent her from coming across as too cocky. She's compassionate and daring, but rather reckless when it comes to dangerous situations. After traveling with the Doctor, her perspective on things changed, causing her to be a little more blunt and begin to find the requirements and perks to an average normal life rather boring. She's sassy and sarcastic, and her inability to keep her mouth shut will be another thing that, inevitably, gets her into trouble. Clara is a natural leader and her kind heart touches many, but she can often be easily irritated and a little sensitive.

History: Clara was born in Blackpool on the 23rd of November to Ellie and Dave Oswald. Her childhood was a very happy one -- both her parents loved her unconditionally, and although she was particularly close with her mother, she loved them both beyond imagination. Her mother, the woman who taught her to bake and told her she should travel the world someday, was young Clara Oswald's hero. She collected science kits and travel books, along with notebooks in which she wrote her plans for the future, and recipes for things she wanted to learn to bake. The one thing she could never master, however, was her mother's special souffle recipe -- even now, she can never seem to get it right. Unfortunately, everything changed when Clara was 19, due to her mother passing away, leaving both her daughter and her husband devastated in the wake of the tragedy. Though her mother's death still upsets Clara deeply to this day, she's thankful for the time she did have with her mother, and often bases her strong morals on what would have made the older woman proud.
Clara finished University and had plans to travel the world after that, but she decided to first spend a week with a family friend, taking care of her children. When said family friend died that week, Clara felt she had to take care of the children, which caused her to put the brakes on her plans to travel and stay behind. One day, whilst trying to get the Internet to work, she called the number that "the woman in the shop" gave her, which turned out to be The Doctor's number. Clara assumed it was a helpline, and asked him for help with connecting to the Internet, to which he begrudgingly obliged. Shortly afterwards, he turned up at her doorstep, asking if she remembered him. Although slightly freaked out, Clara was as polite as possible. However, he ended up saving her life, showing her that there's far more to the universe than she ever expected. She ended up going traveling with him, which changed her life and Clara herself in ways she never realized were possible. She began to see everything differently, and her kindness prompted her to want to save people. Although they were off to rather a rocky start, the Doctor and Clara became very close; after all, it's hard to live through so many dangerous situations with someone and not become fond of them. Clara ended up becoming an English teacher, although she still went traveling with the Doctor every Wednesday. The two voyaged to Trenzalore, where Clara jumped into the Doctor's timestream in order to save his life after the Great Intelligence planned to kill him. This caused copies of her to be scattered across his timeline -- including Oswin Oswald, the girl trapped in the Asylum, and Clara Oswin Oswald, the governess in London. After being referred to as "the impossible girl" for so long, her mystery was finally solved. The Doctor went inside his own timestream to save her, and the two escaped.
When the Doctor regenerated, Clara was caught off guard at first -- feeling as though she didn't quite know him anymore and worrying that everything they once did together would be different now. But after a while, she slowly began to get used to the fact that he was still the Doctor, and decided to continue traveling with him. Through her teaching job, she met Danny Pink, who ended up becoming her boyfriend. When he found out about all the things she did, however, he began to worry about her, causing Clara herself to question whether or not she really wanted to continue living that sort of life. At first, she told the Doctor she'd had enough, and they planned to have "a last hurrah", but when the time came for him to take her home, she realized that this had become such a huge part of her life that she didn't want to leave it behind. For a while, she tried to juggle both of her lives -- opting not to tell her boyfriend that she and the Doctor were still traveling together, and also telling the Doctor that Danny was okay with them traveling together for a while longer. However, lying to Danny became more and more diffcult, and so Clara called him, prepared to come clean about everything. He was out walking at the time, and unfortunately, he was killed when hit by an oncoming car.
Clara was devastated, enough so that she attempted to blackmail the Doctor into going back and saving him -- which ultimately failed. Although she felt sorry, she also explained that she would do it again, because she missed Danny so much, in her mind it was justified -- although she feared she would lose the Doctor for her betrayal. This didn't happen, but despite their efforts, Danny was not brought back.
She continued to travel with the Doctor, however she'd changed in a huge way -- acting more reckless and not giving as much regard for her own life as she once would have. She began adopting some of the traits the Doctor had, because she wanted to be like him. After many more adventures, the two wound up going to Earth again to help out an old friend, Rigsy, who had lost a day of his memory and had an odd tattoo on his neck, which turned out to be a chronolock counting down to his death. Clara willingly took the chronolock to buy time, but this ended up getting her killed, as it changed the deal that had been made in order to keep Rigsy alive.
A later version of the Doctor had the time lords use an extraction chamber to essentially freeze Clara in the moments between one heartbeat and another, and preserve her. They escaped from Gallifrey together, as the Doctor believed once they were gone her heart would start beating again, but it didn't. He tried to take her to the last minutes of the universe, but that didn't work either. He stepped outside to talk to an old friend, and Clara used his sonic sunglasses to eavesdrop on their conversation, which turned out to be a good choice as the Doctor was planning to wipe her memory of him. As soon as he returned, she protested, saying they were her memories and she should be allowed to keep them. She used the sunglasses to reverse the polarity of the neural block, and upon agreeing that they should be separated, the two pushed the button together to let fate decide. The Doctor ended up losing his memories of Clara, who flew the TARDIS to Nevada and made sure someone would take care of him before going to retrieve his TARDIS. She later returned to Nevada, using the chameleon circuit on the other TARDIS to turn it into an American diner, which the Doctor stumbled upon. Clara, dressed as a waitress, listened to his story about her, and smiled through the pain of him not remembering her. She opened a door at the back of the diner and dematerialized, leaving only the Doctor with his own TARDIS beside him. Although Clara knew that her death was a fixed point in time, as her heart had still not restarted, she decided to go back to Gallifrey -- the long way round, leaving some "wiggle room" for adventure before her death.

RP Sample: "Hey!" Clara yelled, as she was shoved into a room and the door was locked behind her. "Let me out of here!" she began pounding on the locked door with her fists, but soon realized it was useless and stepped back.
Typical. She and the Doctor were only trying to help, but according to him there had been a "huge misunderstanding" and long story short, they were separated, taken in different directions with no backup plan. The last thing she'd heard the Doctor yell over his shoulder was "don't worry! I'm sure the execution can be prevented. I'll talk them round!"
How did this always happen? Clara considered this as she looked around the room, looking for anything that might help her escape, or at the very least learn something about the aliens they're dealing with. She noted that the place looked rather like a library -- with sofas and bookshelves filling the entire place. Why would they lock me in the library? She wondered, but decided that this wasn't the time for that. She searched every shelf and even down the side of the sofas to try and find something, but came up empty. Frustration began to take over and she kicked at the nearest thing to her -- a rug on the ground.
The rug slid slightly backwards, revealing what appeared to be a metal hatch. A slow smile appeared on Clara's features as she crouched down, hoping for the best as she pulled the handle. With a bit of effort, it came free and swung open, revealing steps going down. A moment of hesitation passed over her -- did she really want to do this? What if there was nothing down there? Or what if she got lost wandering around and they found her anyway?
Pushing her thoughts aside -- lately she's more of a shoot first, ask questions later girl anyway. A grin crossed her features and she lowered herself down. "Geronimo." she muttered to herself, the brief reference to the Doctor giving her a newly determined attitude as she descended to the secret passageway below.
