Age: 22 (when he met the Second Doctor; born 1724)
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Planet of Origin: Earth
Occupation: Highlander/Jacobite; Farmer
Physical Description: Jamie is a modestly tall, handsome man with broad shoulders thanks to years of hard work on his family’s farm, bright blue eyes, and unruly dark red hair that he tends to wear a bit too long, curling slightly past his ears. He is usually found wearing the traditional garb of his clan: a kilt with a red tartan sash and sporran, even when it seems a bit impractical (and even after being teased for wearing what appears to be a women’s skirt). He does, however, wind up trading in his Ghillie shirt for a turtleneck, which he seems quite comfortable in.

History:
Prior to meeting the Second Doctor and having his life forever changed, Jamie McCrimmon was just a humble young man who labored on his family’s farm in the Highlands of Scotland. His idyllic, peaceful life was interrupted, however, in 1745, when the Jacobites attempted to overthrow the English and put Bonnie Prince Charlie on the throne. Jamie became swept into the Uprising and joined the war as a piper for Clan McLaren. After falling to the English in the Battle of Culloden in April of 1746, Jamie and his fellow Highlanders faced death by hanging or a term of indentured servitude in the West Indies. However, thanks to Polly’s urging, Jamie was invited to board the TARDIS and travel with them.
After Polly and Ben’s departure, Jamie continued to travel with the Second Doctor as his sole companion, and the two became the best of friends. Then, in the Victorian era, they wound up picking up Victoria Waterfield, who had been made an orphan by the Daleks. Jamie wound up developing strong feelings for Victoria, but he was too much of a gentleman to act on them without encouragement; however, it wasn’t until Victoria left the TARDIS, that Jamie was finally able to tell her how he felt. Victoria, it turned out, shared these feelings, and the pair shared a sweet, brief kiss, but since she was determined to never set foot on the TARDIS again, she tearfully chose to let him go, and bid him farewell. For quite some time, Jamie remained deeply depressed about the loss of Victoria.
And then, there was Zoe, the genius from the space station. Jamie got on quite well with Zoe, despite her constant teasing about his seeming lack of intelligence. But, Jamie wasn’t stupid -- he was simply from a much earlier Time than she was and hadn’t had the fancy, modern education or access to technology that Zoe had been privileged enough to take advantage of.
The Doctor, Zoe and Jamie had several adventures together, culminating in a caper instigated by the War Lords, who had obtained Time Lord technology by the Doctor’s peer, the War Chief. They had been taking soldiers out of time, and plopping them all onto one big battlefront to fight each other -- the War Lords wished to see which would prove to be superior, as those that survived would be added to their army, with which they intended to conquer the galaxy. Things had become so bungled that the Doctor had to resort to calling on the Time Lords -- who he’d been running from -- for help. In the end, they put the Doctor on trial for violating their laws of non-interference. For his crimes, the Doctor was forced to regenerate and exiled to Earth, while Jamie and Zoe had their memories of their travels with the Doctor removed, save for their respective first adventures and then returned back to where they had come from.
Jamie woke up during the Battle of Culloden, somewhere in the Scottish Highlands, to a Red Coat pointing a gun at him. He pulled out his sword and attacked, proudly yelling his clan’s battle cry, "Creag an tuire!" -- and he survived, even as the Jacobite cause failed, and Bonnie Prince Charlie retreated back to France.
Somehow, Jamie would have to learn how to adjust back to a 'normal' life... Unless, of course, a certain blue box chooses to return for him.

“Alright you two, we’ve arrived,” the Doctor informed his companions, Jamie and Victoria.
On the viewing screen, a bleak scene awaited them. It looked like a dead forest -- unless they’d arrived in the autumn or winter -- and there wasn’t much light to speak of.
“Bit dreary fer a picnic, eh, Doctor?” Jamie dubiously questioned.
“Oh, dear… It does look rather bleak,” Victoria added, frowning at the screen. “Are you sure, Doctor?”
“Of course, I’m not, my dear!” the Doctor replied with a little giggle. “That’s half the fun, now, isn’t it?”
Gallantly, Jamie vowed, “Now, Victoria… He’s got his hearts set on this little excursion, so there’ll be no gettin’ out of it, but don’t ye worry -- I’ll protect ye from any beastie that tries t’ ruin our day.”
That elicited a small, bashful smile from the Victorian girl.
“C’mon, an’ give me that basket, now -- it’s far too heavy fer a pretty lass like yerself to heave around,” Jamie went on, and he reached to take the rather large and over-filled picnic basket off her hands.
