This incarnation of the Doctor's outfit of choice is cricket whites. For the Doctor, this consists of white plimsolls for his shoes, trousers with brown and beige vertical stripes, a pullover knit sweater, a whit dress shirt with a question mark on each side of the collar, a long, beige coat with red piping, and a panama hat with a red band. But the one thing about his outfit that sticks out the most his the stick of celery on his left lapel. This Doctor stands 6'1" tall and has a lean build. He has blue-green eyes and blond hair. He has a pair of glasses that he whips out occasionally, even though he doesn't actually need to wear them; he just thinks they make him look quite clever.

Personality:
The Fifth Doctor is one of the most human of all of his incarnations, past and future. Inside of the mysteriousness and secretiveness of other incarnations, this Doctor never minded telling his companions exactly what was on his mind--whether it be his fears or his hopes. Instead of treating his companions as subordinates, he would treat them as equals. While all the Doctors would rather find peaceful means to solve a crisis instead of having to use violence, this Doctor was by far the most peaceful of them all. He would rather prove himself to gain others' trust than force them to trust him by any other means.
He, like all of the other Doctors, is a genius. Most people can't understand his techno-babble but occasionally he'll find himself traveling with a companion, like Nyssa, who does get some of what he says. The Doctor being so human comes with a price. Becoming indecisive and panicking under pressure are just two side effects. Having to watch others die also affects him a lot more deeply than it did with his four predecessors and most of the Doctors who have come after him. Still, this Doctor always manages to find a way to solve the crises he and his companions find themselves in. He's very inquisitive and always lets his inquisitive nature get the better of him, which usually lands him in hot water more times than not. And his outfit isn't just a fashion statement; he genuinely loves to play cricket.
History:
Not a lot is known about the Doctor's early life. A lot of information about his early life conflicts with what other people believe. He was born on the planet Gallifrey and it was when he was eight-years-old and had to look into the Untempered Schism, a Time Lord initiation rite, he ran away, while his good friend, the Master, went crazy. It was when he broke one of the Time Lords' laws on non-interference that he faced being erased from history. His brother, however, helped him escape Gallifrey by helping him steal the TARDIS.
He regenerated into his fifth incarnation after falling hundreds of feet to the ground after disconnecting a wire to stop the Master and his nefarious plans. This regeneration was the roughest one yet for the Doctor but he had Nyssa, Tegan, and Adric there to help see him through it...Well, he had Nyssa and Tegan with him, Adric having been captured by the Master. The Doctor kept himself in the Zero Room--a room that would help him rapidly heal from his regeneration troubles.
But, needing extra power, Nyssa and Tegan were instructed to jettison rooms out of the TARDIS, and one of those rooms just happened to be the Zero Room. With what was left of that room, the Doctor constructed a coffin-like box that he could lay in, and Nyssa and Tegan piloted the TARDIS to Castrovalva. It turned out that Castrovalva was a place created by the Master. The Master wanted to lure the Doctor there to destroy him. But the Doctor was able to thwart the Master's plans and escaped with his companions.
He, Nyssa, Tegan, and Adric had their fair share of adventures together. It was when they landed on 26th-century Earth that Adric said he wanted to return to his home in E-space. After reluctantly agreeing that he might go back into E-space if Adric could do the calculations, Adric let the Doctor know that he didn't really want to go back; Adric had just wanted to prove that he could be useful and belonged on the TARDIS with the others. The Cybermen soon appeared on Earth. They planned to destroy Earth by using a space freighter as a bomb. With the Doctor, Nyssa, and Tegan in the TARDIS, Adric found himself on the freighter, cracking logic codes, which sent it back in time to around when the dinosaurs inhabited Earth. It was then that the Doctor realized the freighter was supposed to crash into Earth because it, not an asteroid, was the cause of the dinosaurs becoming extinct. However, he couldn't get Adric off the freighter in time, and the young boy died in the explosion.
Now, the three of them had their adventures together, running into an old friend of his, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, along the way. It was then that he also picked up a new companion in Vislor Turlough, who was under control of the Black Guardian, an old enemy of the Doctor's. Nyssa soon departed the TARDIS for good, wanting to stay on Terminus to help perfect the cure for a disease. Turlough soon was rid of the Black Guardian and, after another encounter with the Master, the Doctor picked up a new companion: Kamelion--an android. But Kamelion wasn't with him for long; the Doctor was forced to destroy the android after it fell under the Master's influence.
After an encounter with his previous incarnations, more traveling around was done and more goodbyes had to be said. Tegan left him after an encounter with the Daleks. Not long afterwards, Turlough was able to return to the planet he had been exiled from, and the Doctor picked up Peri Brown to travel with him. It was on Androzani Minor that this incarnation was doomed to come to his end. He and Peri contracted the disease Spectrox toxaemia, and there was only one dose of antidote available. The Doctor gave it to Peri and regenerated into his next self.

The Doctor considered being asked to be president far from a compliment. It was the biggest punishment anyone could ever bestow upon him. He hadn't run away all of those years ago just to be dragged back and put in charge of the whole planet. He wasn't a politician. He would never be a politician. The Doctor preferred remaining a fugitive (of sorts) on the run. If anyone wanted to come chasing after him to bring him back to fulfill his duties as president, then he wouldn't go quietly but, if he was put into a position where he had no choice but to be who they wanted him to be, then he would do what he needed to do for his people because not all Time Lords and Ladies were bad people.
"Okay. Some people may want me to be president but every president is entitled to a few vacation days. I didn't run away. I'm only taking an extended vacation that may never end." He hadn't told anyone that but, if they wanted to insist on him being their president, then he would do what he had always done, which was his own thing. He would continue traveling around for as long as he wanted to and, if there cam day when he decided that he had had enough, then he would retire into the presidency, assuming that they hadn't grown tired of waiting for his return.
It was an infallible plan in The Doctor's eyes, which meant that it would be full of holes in the eyes of others and that it was bound to backfire on him somewhere down the line. He could never return to Gallifrey again without risking the High Council attempting to keep him there, but The Doctor could never rest assured that he would never end up on his home planet again. He could count far more times the TARDIS had taken him to where he was needed than times where she took him and his companions to where they wanted to go. If she grew tired of endlessly traveling the universe before The Doctor did, then his presidency might start a lot sooner than he wished it to.
Without politics there would be no governments, and without governments there would be chaos and anarchy everywhere throughout space and time. The Doctor couldn't deny that there was something good to be said about politics but life didn't depend solely on the roles that politicians played. If it did, then civilizations still wouldn't be experimenting with different forms of government. "There is far more to life than politics, Braxiatel, but of course a politician would think and say otherwise, lest the people start believing that politicians are an unnecessary part of their lives."
The Doctor ordered Earl Grey for himself. He was slowly beginning to regret this meeting because Braxiatel seemed to be taking everything he said either the wrong way or too personally. He was a good reminder of why The Doctor wasn't fond of too many of his fellow Time Lords. "I could never say no to cakes of any kind," he replied, his tone a lot lighter than Braxiatel's own, "Thank you." As painful as this was becoming, The Doctor wasn't one to give up so easily and if Braxiatel wanted to leave at any time, then he would be free to do so. After all, this was his Collection so The Doctor was sure he had plenty of things that needed doing that were more important than fraternizing a visit he didn't care to have visiting him.
