Yasmin is quite short, standing at around five foot, four. She has brown eyes and long, black hair that falls quite past her shoulders and usually has two buns done up at the top. She smiles often and when off duty, can usually be seen wearing any form of shirt, jeans, boots and a light purple jacket that stays undone unless it's cold.
Personality:
Trait 1:
Trait 2:
A strong desire to learn and a healthy attitude towards it, accomponies Yaz. She sees every day as a learning day and is always eager to find out what each new day will bring and what she can learn from it. So long as she's learned at least one thing a day, she's happy.
Trait 3:
One thing Yaz is quite proud of is her strong will and her accomplishments that sprouted because of this. She never let racial slurs or insults bring her spirits down. She strived to be the better person and many who were asked could say that she sure achieved this goal.Trait 4:
While it may seem like strong dedication to her job, especially in her work, is a good thing, Yasmin seems to take this a little too far. She has been said to be 'married to her job' and has been known to overwork herself, spending as much time as possible on the job.Trait 5:
Her heavy curiosity has been known to put Yaz into some sticky situations. Whenever she sees something she doesn't quite understand, she'll be one of the first to leap into action with hardly any knowledge of the scenario or the risks she may be taking by doing so.Trait 6:
Underneath all of her traits. In honesty, Yazmin suffers quite a bit with her mental health. She doesn't know what to do in certain situations and is afraid to speak out to anyone regarding it. She thinks she does a pretty good job at hiding this as so far, nobody has come to her regarding it.[/ul][/div]History:
Hakia and Najia Kagn had Yaz in 1998, they later had another daughter called Sonya, of whom, Yaz did not get along with at all. As a little girl, Yasmin always wanted a pet rabit but due to her father's allergy to animal fur, she was not allowed one. Instead, she was given a cuddly toy that she decided to call 'Mister Hoppy'. She still keeps him to this day but decides to keep this on the down low, afraid The Doctor and Team Tardis would never let her live it down if they found out she still kept a plush from childhood.
Yasmin went to Redlands Primary School, which is where she met Ryan Sinclair. She was put in a class that was named after Rosa Parks, and her best friend in primary was a girl by the name of Poppy Hillman but their friendship ended after one of Poppy's friends called Yasmin a 'Islamist terrorist'. At the age of twelve, she was best friends with a girl called Aisha and the two went on a camping trip together. When she hit year ten, she even climbed into a boy's window, Danny Biswas, which just goes to show how daring young Yasmin had gotten at times.
A girl by the name of Izzy Flint bullied Yaz and scared her for an entire year. Things started to go downhill, becoming really difficult for Yasmin as what was happening had even started affecting her grades at school. Feeling as if her parents didn't understand her issues, she ran away from home and was reported missing by her sister. Yaz was found by a policewoman called Anita Patel and she convinced Yaz to face her issues, this was done by striking a deal. If Anita was right in saying that things would change, Yasmin would owe her fifty pence but if she was wrong, she'd give Yaz fifty quid, telling Yaz to contact her in three years. During her travels in the TARDIS, Yaz had asked The Doctor to take her to see Anita and she delivered on the deal, giving the woman fifty pence.
Patel inspried Yasmin, enough for the girl to join the Hallamshire Police as a junior officer where her training included learning measures regarding how to help children feel safe in stressful situations. During her time as an officer, Yaz had to deal with plenty of racial profiling. Being called a 'paki' and her Muslim faith led some to call her a terrorist. When stationed at the city centre of a Friday night, she dealt with many domestic violence cases.
Yaz's superior, Ramesh Sunder, had often sent her to deal with petty disputes and small scale cases but after Yasmin insisted on being part of something more than this, Sunder gave in and sent Kahn to investigate something in the Peaks outside of Sheffield, unaware of what it was. When she found the caller, she was surprised to find it was Ryan Sinclair, of whom she knew from school and at first, believed the call to be a prank. After Ryan insisted otherwise, she looked further into it and bumped into The Doctor and Ryan's granddad, Graham. Getting roped into a situation with an alien. After a big adventure, The Doctor intended to leave Yaz, Ryan and Graham but they were sent with her. They went on one more adventure before heading home. After this, they all decided they'd stay with The Doctor and see where the adventures would take them.
Addition Medical Information: Her mental health is not in the best of places, currently and she questions why.

Finally, a big job. While most of the time, Yaz had been dealing with minor disputes during her time as an officer, she pleaded to get something bigger and now, that is what she had. There was a whole case regarding a thief who had stolen from several stores and she was to arrest him. She had to stop for a moment to think, she knew there had to be something to this but at first, she didn't understand. But then something clicked.
"Hold on, those store names. Ohh, they're in alphabetical order! From when he struck them. And they're all in a small radius, just this small town. Which means...that's it! I know where he'll go next! And assumingly, he'll get there at midnight, as he did the last few times. Which gives a perfect chance to catch him!"
Yazmin grinned. She was pleased she finally got a job like this. Now she could show her superiors that she was capable and she could feel happy, knowing that she was making a difference. That she had been the one to catch a troublesome thief. All she had to do now was wait. If only The Doctor could see her now....Yazmin kept wondering why that woman was on her mind recently, especially during an important job but she had no time to worry about that right now.
