It wasn't often Yasmin Kahn got time to herself. In fact, this was the first time in a quite a long while that she had. Likely months, even. But today was different. She had the day off from work due to a problem at the station. Her family had gone shopping for a few hours, which pretty much always meant all day in their case so she knew they'd be gone a long time. And she hadn't heard anything from The Doctor, Ryan or Graham. So she was spending her day in her room. Normally when she was in her room, she'd be watching videos, looking stuff up on the internet or would just leave her room and go out and about but not today. See, Yaz was alone which meant she had a chance to do something she rarely ever got to do.
"Come on, Mister Hoppy! Up up up! Time I spent more time with ya! Ain't been able to recently, what with everyone nosin' around all the time. C'ohh, I can't even let them know I still got ya!"
She giggled quietly as she took a white, bunny plush from a secret drawer under her bed. She cuddled it close to her stomach with a smile. There had been plenty of times where she wanted to do this again, truthfully she missed it but she couldn't act like this much, since she was often busy with people. But now she was alone. No parents. No sister. No Ryan. No Graham. No Doctor. She did wonder how The Doctor would react if she saw her like this, though even thinking of that scared her. It didn't matter though, even though there was plenty of space for the TARDIS to land in her bedroom, Yaz kept comfort in a simple thought. 'What are the chances she's gonna pop in my room, right now? That ain't gonna happen. Right?'

The Doctor had been quite the busy one in between fam get togethers. However, there was always the chance opportunity for her to bounce back in from all that travel. It was hard not wanting to. She missed her latest companions often, whether she'd admit to so or not. Being alone was not something that The Doctor wanted to be most the time. Ever since those first days with Barbra, Ian, and Susan; all The Doctor's ever wanted was people around. Loneliness tended to leave The Doctor to her own thoughts. There were points where The Doctor didn't mind some alone time, like especially her last face. But most of her faces were just fine with peopling. Granted her sixth face had, had a bad spot when they'd first regenerated, but after some time of letting the regeneration settle in, they started acting more like themself again, albeit they were a bit more abrasive in nature for a part of that tenure. Yet as everyone is, all people have their "bad days". The Doctor just tended to have more...bad regenerations.
Normally she'd let her companions know she was coming, but sometimes surprises were just as good. After all she knew they had normal lives as much as their time travel ones they did with her. Yaz worked with the police, that was important work. She'd have made a great UNIT or Jack ran Torchwood agent if they were still around. Graham was retired, but he still enjoyed life none the less with friends from his home community. Ryan worked too, but he like Yaz was still young and had a lot of things to just discover in his own back yard as well and she knew he had friends to keep tabs with. So, The Doctor didn't want to take too much of their lives from that. But now was a good time to disrupt that she believed. Honestly she herself could have been gone only minutes compared to their long way round lives, but she luckily had been a little more busy than expected. Which they wouldn't know unless she told them.
Coming out of the time vortex, the TARDIS's engines began to make that audible "vwhorping" sound that came with leaving the "brake" on. She liked that sound, so never dreamed of taking the brake off. Only River, who learned to used the TARDIS, decided that her leaving the brake on was a bad thing. She had to disagree with her wife on that one. In any case appearing in such a tightly confined space such as a bedroom was not easy, at least not for all TARDIS travelers. But for The Doctor, it had become a reoccurring thing and much easier with each time it was done. So as it appeared, it sandwiched itself nicely nestled between two opposing objects being a dresser on one wall side and another angled wall on the other. It didn't take long for it to solidify either and for The Doctor to poke her head out either.
"Yaz you h-" she called but stopped when she saw her holding a stuffed animal, but then ended the sentence to not feel awkward. "ere...I could come back if your busy."
The Doctor thumbed to the interior of the TARDIS. She didn't oppose stuffed animals, even she had one growing up as a child. Doesn't remember what ever happened to it, but she did. However, she'd never seen one of her companions with one before, not since her granddaughter Susan. So it was a new one for her. If Yaz needed time alone, The Doctor would oblige and just go off and visit Graham and or Ryan instead first. She just thought she'd give Yaz the surprise of her return first this time. Though she wondered if she misjudged.

Yasmin almost literally jumped out of her skin when she heard the noise of the TARDIS, she yelped and by the time The Doctor had popped her head out the door, she would've seen Yaz with her back against the wall, sitting on her bed, still tightly clutching the teddy. She took a moment to collect herself before standing up. Because she was still in her pyjamas as it was a lazy day, she slipped into her slippers and nightgown before exhaling and looking at The Doctor.
"Doc! The Bedroom! We have a rule about the bedroom! I really need to feel that space in with somethin' if ya just gonna keep materialising there without at least calling first...but tha' wasn't what it looked like, I swear down! Look just...please don't tell the others. Graham'd just tell Ryan if ya told him. And if Ryan found about about Mister Hoppy, he'd never let me live tha' down. Look...I'd be down for an adventure if that's what ya came 'ere for. Really, I'd be more than happy ta. But could ya just....I don't know, give me a few minutes of privacy if that's what we're doing, before any of tha' stuff?"
Her face was beet red at this point, she knew there was no lying her way out of the fact that she was cuddling a stuffed animal. Though when she asked that last question, she gestured down to herself, merely to emphasise the fact that she was indeed, still in her sleeping clothes and would quite rightly, want to change into something more acceptable to wear in a public setting. Plus, she knew that if this was what she was going to wear, she was bound to get freezing cold outside. She ran her hands down her face, keeping them covering it, for the most part. One thing she hated was blushing, it was worse when someone saw it so she was trying to hide it for the time being.

"Oh righ' yea." she gave a nod at giving Yasmin some privacy for her to get dressed in some clothing. Even The Doctors cheeks went red just a bit at realizing the oops she'd made by appearing without checking in first. However, at the same time, it was sort of adorable to see Yaz so flustered at having been caught red handed with a stuffed animal and in her pajamas none the less. The girl looked more like she had been ready for a sleep over than a day trip.
The Doctor was going to slip back inside the TARDIS and close the door, but before she did she popped her head back out with a bit of a smile, "I won' tell I promise, but I will admit...it is quite adorable. Jus' sayin'. I'll be inside when you're done."
She nodded her head towards the interior of the TARDIS, then slipped inside before closing the door behind her. Leaning temporarily up against it, "Well at least she didn't throw anything at me. Guess bein' a girl this time round has some benefits after all. Hah."
She grinned to herself and walked towards the control console to wait for her. This was going to be interesting to try and put behind both of them, however, I have a feeling for The Doctor, she was going to store it as one of the more memorable good moments in her life and not forget...ever.

Yasmin wanted to be at least a little mad but she just couldn't and the reason behind this, she wasn't even sure of, which made her want to be angry even more but she just wasn't. She was...happy. She didn't understand why. She just shook her head with a quiet chuckle as The Doctor made her way back into the TARDIS. Though her face had burned up even more than it already had prior when The Doctor had mentioned how cute she found the situation. A groan escaping her lips.
"Doooooc! Don't start on tha'! It was just a teddy! I'd bet ya've got one too! Everyone keeps a teddy from their childhood! ....okay that's a lie, I don't think Sonya does. But that's not the point! It ain't adorable! And it's perfectly, perfectly normal! I swear, there better not be any form of camera system in there....eugh, The Doc is lucky I lo-...well, not love 'er. That almost sounds like...nah nah, that I...that we are real close friends. Yeah tha' sounds about right."
She had stated the last few things when she saw The Doctor head back inside the TARDIS. She walked towards her drawers and pulled out some clothes. After getting herself undressed, out of her pyjamas, she quickly slipped into her jeans, a casual shirt and her jacket. She put on some socks and walked off to grab her shoes, sliding them on and doing her laces up. She walked towards the mirror and grabbed a hairbrush and some bands. After having sorted her hair out, she winked into the mirror and wiped her hands down her face to get rid of the tired look. She exhaled and knocked on the TARDIS door once she was ready.

Yax could make all the excuses she wanted and that about her little stuffed animal, but that wasn't going to change The Doctors mind over it. The Doctor was going to think it was cute no matter what.
"You jus' keep tellin' yourself that Yaz." The Doctor mused to herself, still smiling, having heard what Yaz said through the closed door. Technically The Doctor was able to see outside the TARDIS from inside, but that was normally used to check the terrain, and quite frankly when was the last time she actually used that feature? She couldn't remember to be honest. More often than not she'd just check the readings and then leave. So Yaz was fairly lucky that she'd not been using the video feed the TARIDS housed. Yaz was very lucky The Doctor was a reasonable and polite individual to respect her companions boundaries to some degree.
After a few seconds if rechecking the console, The Doctor leaned against one of the station panels and waited, her mind drifting off in thought. She wasn't going to lie, a part of her was trying to imagine what Yaz would have been like as a young child with that little stuffed creature. And a part of her was trying to recall where she'd seen her own last. Perhaps she'd given it to Susan when she was really young? That would have been a really pleasant hope. Though, Susan and her hadn't left so abruptly from Gallifrey way back when, so would that have meant she'd left it behind? She didn't want to think about that, that brought up bad thoughts. She shook it off. No she was going to pretend that maybe the thing was somewhere here on the TARDIS maybe.
When Yaz knocked, The Doctor was shook from her revere. She went back over to the door and opened it, "Ah, there ya are! Ready? You can bring Mister Hoppy if you'd like." The Doctor said with a little chuckle. "Oh come on it's funny. Just a little. And I stand by what I say, adorable."
She moved out of the way for Yaz to come into the TARDIS, "By the way, we can stick around here in the Sheffield area or we could ya know...go somewhere excitin'."
She hadn't made any mention to Ryan or Graham. Though, she could pick up the rest of the fam and take them along too. but there was a part of The Doctor that wanted to just take Yaz on one trip, alone. Not to say that she didn't care about Ryan and Graham, but sometimes all three on board couldn't give much for personalized attention to someone. And The Doctor had felt that, that was sort of in the long time coming. She'd do the same with Ryan and Graham if they wanted to as well.

Yasmin heard this and her face went bright red again, so she naturally brought her hands up to it in order to cover it as she stepped inside the TARDIS. She was flustered. She took a moment to regain herself and coughed, shaking her head. Her hands eventually left her face and moved down to her sides, one of them finding its way onto her hip. She thought for a second, well if she can say that to me, think it's only fair to do the same thing to her and either even it our or get payback, all really depends on how this goes but what she didn't realise was she was about to go on the biggest tangent of her life.
"Doc! Come on, I ain't cute! Nothin' about what ya saw, nor me, is cute. Alright? And if tha's the case then anyone could say tha'...for example, you are cute. Couldn't they? Ain't difficult for anyone to start thinkin' that just by being around ya. I mean...the tiny height, the round face, that hair, those eyes and ya childish and giddy personality. Really, it's easy to call ya that.....course I speak of what other people may think, those ain't based off my own thoughts in any way. My point is...don't start on me with tha', okay? And uhh....tell ya what Doc, you know more of the universe than I do. Why don't ya surprise me with somethin'? But! Somethin' that you'd want ta see as well so we'd both have a good time!"
She chuckled to herself quietly after speaking. She had spoken most of that rather quickly, as if she just wanted to get the words out and have it be over and done with. Her face still a bright pink. After talking about a destination, she just walked off to lean against the nearest wall, smiling as she looks around. She didn't even know about everything the TARDIS was capable of, she had only been told very little but the few things she did know left her questioning many things. But how does it all fit in one tiny box? How can it travel from place to place and time to time? What would happen if she set the coordinates to the inside? ....is this thing really alive? And are ya...able to read my mind or are my thoughts private and safe? Gah questions!
Post by Thirteenth Doctor on Jul 30, 2020 12:01:24 GMT -5
The Doctor wanted to chuckle at Yaz so badly because she was babbling and almost not making much sense with the speed to which she was talking to The Doctor, in The Doctors mind of course. She just gave a more unconvinced nod.
"Rugh'." she said with a smirk. She then raised a brow. "Surprise though eh...migh' regret that one. Haha."
She was teasing of course, "But alright...surprise. I can work with tha'."
The Doctor moved around the console to where she could start plotting a navigational course. She looked over at Yaz though, "Also never said I wasn'."
She was meaning about the being cute thing. The Doctor wasn't shy about much, after all she as a he had ended up showing naked to Clara's family during a holiday. Now whether that was on accident or on purpose, The Doctor would never say. But it just went to show that The Doctor, probably as many Gallifreyans, had no real ill feelings towards their body forms. As was Gallifreyans always had a different view on many things from that of humans. Gallifreyans didn't have the same orientation issues as humans nor dating or marriage rituals as humans. Even other trivial idioms mean little to nothing to Gallifreyans since their world was one filled with changes all the time. This was mostly because the fact that they could change gender, color, size, etc. So one had to be comfortable with who they'd choose or were placed being in looks wise.
"Think we should bring the others?" she asked more out of politeness, but she still was looking forward more to some one on one time if she had to be honest.
Post by Yasmin Kahn on Aug 3, 2020 10:17:48 GMT -5
"When it's you, Doc. I know I can't ever regret anythin'. I mean yeah, them spiders were nasty that one time...still get shivers, thinkin' about it. But! Ya know what? You'll be around, no matter wha'! Which means I know I'm in safe hands, would much rather explore some dangerous place with ya than a boring but safe place on me own."
Yasmin smiled when she said this. An excited grin on her face but saying that had her face heat up a bit. She was blushing! After hearing The Doctor point out that she never said she wasn't cute, Yaz couldn't help but let out a rather childish giggle. Honestly, she just loved the company and it had been a while since the two of them had ever gone anywhere alone but she never knew just how cheeky The Doc was at times. Upon hearing the question about the others, a small frown spread across her features and she was quick to shake her head. It wasn't that she didn't like the others. Ryan was hilarious and Graham was just an absolute legend, the kindest man you'd ever know. Yaz peered at her friend and paused slightly.
"Actually mate, I was thinkin'...would it be alright if it was just me and ya? I mean, we haven't 'ad any adventures where it was just the two of us yet, have we? Maybe tha' could uhh...dunno, maybe it could just be fun. Just two good mates hangin' about and havin' a laugh. I think that'd be fun, just us...the mini-fam."
She giggled again upon saying the last part, walking over to playfully nudge The Doctor. A smirk on her face but she still had many thoughts swirling in her head and she was still unsure if the TARDIS could hear them. Though she figured it was worth checking to see if it could. She wouldn't look like an idiot if it couldn't since she highly doubted her Gallifreyan friend could read her mind. Come on, blue box...can ya hear me thoughts? Could ya...give me a signal if ya can? Like a noise or a colour change?
Post by Thirteenth Doctor on Sept 8, 2020 14:59:09 GMT -5
"Ah...yea, it can be just us." she said looking at Yaz. She didn't mind that one bit. Sometimes having them all could be a bit overwhelming. Why she'd decided on a big fam deal...well she was still trying to make sense of that to be honest. It wasn't like she needed it, not really. Granted it had been beneficial over their times together, but it wasn't like she'd done a big group of folks in ages. Not since before the war at least. It had made it hard to get close to all of them without feeling self conscious she was taking too much favoritism with one or another. Granted she was sure somewhere inside her that they weren't going to judge her, but a part of her was just the really awkward Doctor. The real question was...why? Why was she so estranged and awkward. It was almost like a huge one eighty to her sand shoes face. She probably would never know.
Putting in coordinates, she said, "I still don' know why you lot put so much faith in me? Did I forget to mention I'm jus' an idiot with a box that jus' so happens to be bigger on the inside and jus' so happens can travel through time and space?"
She did give a chuckle though to show she wasn't being serious about that statement. As far as the TARDIS though, it had heard her. It heard every companion. But did that mean it shared every detail with The Doctor, mmm...no. The TARDIS was its own being. The TARDIS actually made a sound. It's lighting wasn't quite the same as it once had been so subtleness was not as easy in this new form at least not with lights. But sounds never changed really. But the old girl did make it clear she knew, that she could hear her thoughts.
Post by Yasmin Kahn on Sept 10, 2020 6:51:33 GMT -5
"Mate, ya much more than tha'. You're a literal hero! Seriously, my butt'd be fried if you weren't around ta stop really...anythin' we've all got involved in together. And I'm fairly certain Ryan and Graham would say exactly the same thing if they were here. Point is, Doc. Don't start thinking that an idiot is all ya are, because...it's really not. The world...no, the universe, is lucky to have ya around! And....personally, I dunno what I'd do without ya..."
Upon saying that last part, Yaz gave a slight smile. She was hopelessly confused on how to word all of that but she only hoped she didn't end up looking like a complete idiot when she spoke. She realised that she had gotten a lot more soft recently, especially today. Whether that was her time away from her job having an affect on her personality or whether it was something else, she wasn't entirely sure. She had noticed an odd feeling in her stomach whenever she was around The Doctor and that feeling was going into overdrive currently. Though she brushed that off, denying her own thoughts, telling herself it was just that she woke up hungry and there was nothing else to it. She heard the noise and did notice the colour change, her eyes widening in shock. She completely forgot to think that while The Doctor couldn't hear her thoughts, she could still see Yasmin and her expressions, meaning her 'conversing' with the TARDIS may not have been as much of a secret as she wanted it to be but this didn't cross her mind. Not thinking about it, she kept speaking in her head, her words directed towards the old girl.
Hope ya can keep a secret, really does help ta get stuff like this off the chest, ya know...and maybe you might even know something about this that even I don't. Could be some sort of alien sickness, I dunno. Help me out, old girl...every time I'm around The Doc, I get this odd fluttery feeling in the stomach. Has that ever happened ta anyone else, that you know of? Could it be some sort of symptom for something I may have caught on an alien planet in one of our trips? I really dunno what's going on and I could really use ya help, mate. Please...I have no clue what ta do about it.

The Doctor just shook her head. She wasn't going to falter Yaz any on her faith in her. So she just let it go and took it for what it was. Yaz was amazing in the fact that she could be optimistic.
"If I didn' know you well Yaz I'd be sayin' you were wantin' somethin' from me." she stated with a smirk. "The inflation of me is jus' unbelievable."
She put her hand on the lever control. She looked at it and then looked at Yaz. Maybe for old time sake she could let someone in like that again, let them pull that lever for old time sake like some of her companions had done prior. She looked away a bit pressing her lips together thoughtfully and then lightly smiled.
"Wanna try?" she said tilting her head just ever so slightly to the lever. Meanwhile the TARDIS was without actually saying it, for her to go for it. Take the one in life time chance to fly the TARDIS. It was the best the old girl could give to give her an answer without making it clearly obvious to The Doctor. It was her way of saying no your not sick now get your ass over there and do this.

"Want somethin' from ya? What, does trying to make sure ya know exactly how much an impact ya've made to everyone you meet, suddenly mean I'm after somethin'? Just...trying ta be nice, you know. By the way, tha' planet we went to last time...is it possible tha' one of us could have gotten some weird illness? I ain't been feelin' like myself recently. Like around me chest, like my heart's beating faster than usual. Dunno why but it gets even faster when I'm around ya...just want ta make sure I ain't got some deadly disease if tha' makes any..."
Yaz trailed off completely from what she was saying. Of course, she had no way of knowing the TARDIS was trying to tell her that she did not have a sickness so the thought that she did was just swelling in her mind until her train of thought got interrupted by The Doctor. Yasmin took one look at the lever and grinned before rushing towards it, she was not going to deny a chance to pull the lever that took off the time machine. She'd seen The Doctor do it enough times and it seemed like fun, she truthfully had always wanted to pull it. She was much more excited about this than even she expected herself to be.
"Wot, really?! Me?! Ya want me ta pull the lever?! Ohhh....geronimo!"
She grinned before carefully reaching out to the lever, she almost looked like she was afraid it was burning hot to the touch. As for the word she had said, it was just something she said on a whim. She didn't know how much significance it may have had to The Doctor, she was just saying a word she heard people say a lot when they would jump into a swimming pool from a diving board, or do anything similar.

The Doctor wasn't quite sure what Yaz was going on about, but never the less a light heat touched the time ladies face anyway. She was just hoping she could press the potential of heat creeping up to the surface of her cheeks and showing outwardly as a pink to red hue. She did smile though at Yaz babbling. Yaz wasn't ill at least she didn't look that way from what she could tell, but as it was the truth sort of went over The Doctors head about what Yaz was truly feeling, and that was not some illness. If The Doctor wasn't being such an adorable ignorant fluff at the moment, she'd get the cue. However, she was alien, and clearly as blonde as the hair she'd been given sometimes. So it might take a tad of coaxing out of her, however, her inner instincts and body were catching the signs, even if her conscious brain was not.
"Your not ill Yaz...jus'...excited. Yea, that's the word. We're going off together, alone somewhere. Just two gals in the universe. That alone should be enough to make ones heart race righ'?" she smiled and gave a reassuring nod. Hearing Yaz say that one word, Geronimo...it dredged up memories, but yet those memories felt a bit under water. Sure they were memories of only two lifetimes ago, but they were still hers to remember. However, there perhaps was still a part of her that inwardly still blocked some of that out due to not wanting to resurface pain of a past she could never see again. However, in some instances it almost made a flicker of that old incarnation flit across thirteens eyes. As if reawakening a small part of herself she'd pushed down far away. But it was there but only a moment, yet the feeling of it rushed her like someone eating sugar and getting a shot of adrenaline.
"Let's see where fate takes us." she stated anticipating the sound of the TARDIS engine, that old familiar "vwhorp" the old girl would always give when she and the gang were off on another grand adventure.
Post by Yasmin Kahn on Oct 4, 2020 16:34:32 GMT -5
"Ya sure? Because I've 'ad plenty of adventures before I even met ya and ain't ever felt anything like this before. I am an officer which you know and officers get a lot of adventures in their time. But the adventures only got more frequent when I met ya and it was only recently that I started feelin' this way. And...I definitely ain't sick? Ain't got an idea what this could be then. Though it almost feels like...dunno, like there's some kind of connection. I feel almost linked to ya in a way if that makes any sense. Wait...when we first met, there were a few times where we had those things put things in our necks! Could it be somethin' ta do with that? An affect of some sort from there?!"
Yaz was actually starting to get a little worried now. She wasn't sure what to think of what she was feeling. Part of her was boarding on the thought of what was in fact, the truth. Though whenever the thought of her liking her alien friend popped up, she was quick to dismiss the thought as herself being stupid. She never considered the fact that she could even like women in that way and she was too scared to address that thought to herself, on its own because if she did, she'd then be scared about what The Doctor would think. She didn't want to weird her best friend out and she thought that it was impossible that if this feeling was true, that it would be mutual.
"But yeah, let's...see where we're off ta!" She smirked, deciding to be a little cheeky by quoting something The Doctor said once, surprised at her own ability to remember it. "Are ya excited? Cause I'm really excited!"
