"No, no, no." Ace exclaimed as she suddenly got up and took off towards the scene.
"Wait, Ace!" The Doctor shouted to her, he wasn't sure if it was entirely safe down there. After all, if a person caused this and got away alive. Then they might still be around.
Making an rather strange sound, he got up and ran after her. He stopped as he got closer, the scene was even worse up close. The way the bodies were spread across the entire area of the crash site, and along with some of the parts from the ship that were embedded into said bodies, was enough to make anyone sick.
The Doctor said nothing as he watched Ace. To be honest, there was nothing he could say, that the two of them haven't said, or even heard before.
The look on his face was that of worried sadness, and an undertone of slight anger towards whoever really caused this. A look that he has had so, so many times before in the past.

She didn’t listen when The Doctor told her to wait tripping a couple times and she ran towards the crash site. When Ace got to the bodies she dropped to her knees some, she did know them, all of them. You’d think, after all the death she had seen she’d of gotten used to it by now but she never did.
Closing her eyes for a second she tired to get a grip on the anger rising within her. She closed her fist hard enough to cause her knuckles to audibly pop a bit. Ace rapped her knuckles on the ground for a second and rose back to her feet. There was no humor to her voice only pure fact “Someone’s going to pay.”
"I am NOT A PROBLEM! I’m a…tactical consideration!"
"Varos. Wonderful. It couldn't have been somewhere nicer, could it?" The Doctor huffed as he straightened his jacket and stepped out of the TARDIS. Why did he have to end up here again? Nothing pleasant had ever come out of visiting this planet. It was one worth well avoiding. But there were people in trouble, so he could hardly stay away.
Squinting into the distance as he started walking, he was able to make out some smoke over the horizon. Deciding it was as good a place to start as any, he headed for the hill. When he got closer he could make out two figures lying on top of it. He was approaching from the side, so they wouldn't see him. "Hello!" he called from the foot of the hill, making his way up. "You alright? I got a distress signal from here. Did you send it? Though I wish it had been from somewhere else. This isn't exactly the most friendly planet..."
He suddenly fell silent when he was close enough to see the two people. Both of them were people he knew very well, but it was the man in particular who caught his attention. "Oh."
Honestly the Doctor didn't know what to say to his ol' friend and companion. He knew she was upset, he was too. They didn't have to die, but they did, and why? Because someone probably got greedy.
Then he was suddenly drawn out of his thoughts by a voice calling out to them. Asking if they were alright, then as it got closer that voice said one more thing and instantly got quiet.
Assuming it was because of the site, the Doctor nodded and replied. "Yea, oh."
He turned to look at the owner of the voice. Taking note of how this seemingly younger man looked, raising a eyebrow at the '80's Geology school teacher's outfit. The funny hair, and the bow tie. People still wore those? He thought as he observed him.
Then with that same wide grin, the Doctor figured he wasn't too dangerous.
"Hello there, I'm the Doctor, this is my friend Doro-" He quickly stopped himself with a cough, and corrected. "I mean Ace McShane."
"You wouldn't be responsible for this would you?" The Doctor asked semi-accusingly, he knew that if this newcomer might be considered for a suspect to this horrendous deed. Ace most likely would recognize him from her time on the previous planet.

Ace knelt down to run her hand over the face of one of her dead friends bodies so their eyes would be closed, softly “Be at peace, friend.” she sighed and started to drift off into her own thought a little only to be drawn out of them by the person approaching.
Raising an eyebrow, Ace knew that voice. Standing she turned to face the new comer, she also knew the owner of the voice so it would seem, softly “Still with that goofy bowtie.” the slip of the tongue from the Doctor she came her with caused her to glare a tiny bit at him for a second but decided to let it go, for now.
"You wouldn't be responsible for this would you?" Ace could hear the tiny bit of accusation in the Doctors voice “Easy there professor, you should probably find out who he is before you start throwing blame.”
"I am NOT A PROBLEM! I’m a…tactical consideration!"
Well, that was a lovely welcome. Then again, on those occasions when the Doctor did meet his past selves, they never seemed to get on at first. Hopefully this one wouldn't take as much convincing as those before him.
"Ah, now-" the Eleventh started, before being interrupted and gratefully saved by Ace.
“Easy there professor, you should probably find out who he is before you start throwing blame.”
"Thank you, Ace," he nodded at his past companion, before going over to hug her while continuing to talk to his predecessor. "I thought you would've known that anyway, Doctor."
Smiling gleefully, he decided to explain. "How've you been, handsome? It's always nice to see yourself when you're not yourself. If that even makes sense." Oh, he'd just plainly state it. "Good to see you, me. This should be a fun paradox."

So she did know this newcomer. How did she know this-.. Oh no. No. The Doctor stared at the rather, bouncy man. His mind whirling as he quickly came to a conclusion.

"Oh.. Ooh!" The Doctor started, his brow furrowing as he realized exactly who this man was. Then he pointed at him, wagging his hand as he continued. "You, you shouldn't be here!"
"This is dangerous, and stupid, and..." He paused looking his older self over. "What are you wearing?"
He let out a soft sigh, as he rubbed the back of his neck. Seeing his future self, made him feel like he was looking at the reaper himself. Just knowing that eventually, he would be regenerating into this tall, bouncy sort of a man. Well it wasn't a pleasant reunion.
"Well, as long as you're here. We might as well figure out what's going on." The Tenth Doctor suggested.

Ace hugged the newer version of The Doctor before turning her attention back to the one she’d come to the planet with, trying to hold back a grin when he realized who the newcomer was. She’d always thought it was interesting to watch how The Doctor interacted with different versions of himself.
"You, you shouldn't be here!" Ace tilted her head a little at the comment “And when has ever not supposing to be anywhere ever stopped you before?” Ace glanced back and forth between the two Doctors not meaning it as a snappy comment but truth mostly because she knew The Doctor had a habit of getting angry at people for messing with timelines but he had a really bad habit if mucking about with his own.
"Well, as long as you're here. We might as well figure out what's going on” hooking a thumb at one of the escape pods “Those should have some sort of black box like thing in them…we could start there.” she shrugged a little “Just an idea.”

"Don't say anything," the Doctor instantly replied. "Especially about the bow tie. Bow ties are cool. Simple as that." He sighed. "I didn't mean to come here at the same time as you, I was just following a cry for help. If I'd known you were here...well, I don't know if it'd be honest of me to say that I still wouldn't come. But since we're here, we might as well find out what's going on."

Turning his head in the direction Ace pointed out, the Doctor looked over to the escape pods and gave a low whistle. "Those look pretty damaged. Crashed, obviously. We might as well go check them out." He smiled at the pair. "I don't suppose either of you know how they crashed here?"
