Name: K-9
Age: Mark IV just a few years old (other versions would be different)
Gender: Male
Species: Robotic Canine
Planet of Origin: The TARDIS
Occupation:
K-9 is the faithful robotic companion of the Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, and Luke. He is a protector, chemical analyzer, a laser weapon, an encyclopedia, a friend to computers, and a very good dog.
Physical Description:
K-9 looks like a small boxy robotic dog. He has small twin antennas for ears, a thin aerial antenna of a tail and blinking lights on his metallic back. Where the eyes of a normal dog would be is a splash of a red sensory panel.
Personality:
Mark I- K-9 was not programmed with emotion however, he has shown sorrow, regret, and a polite formal manner with just a hint of pedantry bordering on condescension. K-9 sometimes shows contempt for other artificial intelligences, and is more likely to side with one of the Doctor's companions then with the Doctor himself. When told to stay within the TARDIS K-9 has been known to urgue about this order and states that he will be a good dog. He is also capable of destroying the Doctor at chess.
Mark II and above- K-9 is as loyal as companion as anyone who has set foot upon the TARDIS. He is well spoken and polite considering he is a robotic dog. He will defend the Doctor and his companions, even if it means the utter destruction of himself in the process. He has an ironic sense humor that is a part of his programming… for the most part. He still holds true to much of his original personality. However due to his memory being lost he downloaded thousands of human movies into his memory and it has affected the way he comunicates with others.
History:
K-9 Mark I, found his beginnings at the hands of Professor Marius who created him as a robotic replacement for a real dog that he was forced to leave on Earth due to weight requirements. There was however, a temporal paradox involving the Professor copying the remains of a later version of K-9 created by the Doctor and presented to Sarah Jane Smith. No one, not even K-9 knows the truth of his true origins. When it was time for the Professor to return to Earth, he presented K-9 to the Doctor as a gift of sorts.
Mark I was re-created and/or improved by the Fourth incarnation of the Doctor shortly after leaving Gallifrey. This version of K-9 performed some tasks for the Time Lords and was given control over K-Nel, the space vessel. K-9 stayed on Gallifrey with Leela for years and after the disappearance of Leela’s husband K-9 was introduced to Romana and another K-9 unit. A unit that was not compatible. They did not like each other and were always trying to outdo each other. K-9 went on many adventures with Leela and witnessed the Last Great Time War, the murder of Zanthus Pia by Ahab. At some point he self-destructed himself and regenerated into yet another, more advanced, incarnation.
Mark II’s history begins in a packing crate as a copy of the Mark I given to Leela.
Additional medical information: Other then the fact that he has been fixed, repaired, and revamped so many times that he is MARK IV, no.

K-9 looked around the ruined spacecraft and considered perpetual calculations. K-9 was running low on energy and he knew that he was going to need it if he was going to get the alien and himself out of this mess. He once again would have to use his teleportation capabilities. But this time he would have to take another living being. If he would have had the power then he would have transported the entire ship to The Library. But that just wasn’t feasible.
There was the possibility that the alien could be destroyed. There was also the possibility that he; himself would lose power during this process. But there was little to be done about it. K-9 wheeled himself next to the mantis alien and ran into her. Physical contact would make this much easier and the possibility of survival would be greatly increased.
After a quick scan of the ship K-9 decided that the safest place for the alien would be in the cockpit. There she would not be blown into the deep dark emptiness of space. There was the chance the ship would fall apart leaving the Earth’s atmosphere because of the damage caused by the SUV, but there was nothing to be gained by dwelling on the fact. So he set his plan into motion.
Tapping once again into the ships computer systems K-9 used its capabilities to close, seal, and lock all of the interior and exterior doors. He set the autopilot for The Library and even left the pilot warnings incase she tried to venture into the breached areas of the ship. There would be no stopping or turning around once the ship started on its journey, K-9 made sure of that.
Then in a flash of blue-white light, K-9 teleported the alien into the cockpit. For a moment he lost power and everything went dark. But he knew that, the loss of power was a possibility. When his systems flickered back on he set his plan into motion by starting the engines and engaging the autopilot.
The entire process took little time but K-9 could feel the drain on his power and knew that with his last action he would become completely depleted. He tapped into the ships power and stole some of the needed resources that he would need. It would help but he was sure that it wouldn’t be enough to keep him fully operational. He could already tell that several of his functioned were inoperable thanks to the blood and ooze that had invaded his mechanical and electronically systems.
In another flash of light he vanished from the ship as it rumbled and groaned during take-off. The smell of Sunday roast left in his wake.
