- 8th Life: 5'9"
Personality:
- 1st Life: Taryn is quite motherly and forgiving. Before her head injury, she was a doting and loving mother, a fiercely loyal friend. She was also quite naïve and made a few judgment errors.. But when she came to Earth, she suffered a head injury that literally wiped her memories clean. She could only remember her name. Despite feeling lost, she's quite calm.
"Dont worry, dearest. I'll take care of everything"
- 2nd Life: This version of Taryn could easily be considered her most adventurous and outgoing. She has an insatiable curiosity and a passion for roaming the cosmos. She's quite hyper and always on the move and can be quite the little rebel. This youthful version can be quite the little pistol of you cross her, but she's fiercely loyal and protective of anyone she comes to care about.
- 3rd Life: In this incarnation, it's easy to get mixed signals from her. She's feisty and has quite the temper and hates when people touch her without her consent. She can read thoughts by touch and she just doesn’t want all those gross thoughts running about inside her head. But, if she happens to like you, she's very flirtatious and becomes quite physical, loving to trail her hands on people as if exploring them. At least it's easy to tell if she likes you.
- 4th Life: This Goddess is quite the day dreamer. She will often imagine her perfect life with her husband, a child and a little house with a white picket fence. She is extraordinarily affectionate and enjoys intimate moments. She also has a coy demeanor, feigning her innocent and shy side when in truth, she can be quite playfully devious.
- 5th Life: This is where here incarnations begin to take a turn for the worst. In this incarnation, Goddess is very quiet and shy. She prefers to keep to herself and will only deal with other when it is unavoidable. She is still quite loving and loyal but she hardly shows it any more.
- 6th Life: In her sixth, everything worries her. She has a fear of shadows, is afraid of the dark, sudden noises make her jump out of her skin and tall strangers absolutely terrify her. She has the overwhelming fear that her days were numbered and that someone is coming to kill her. She almost never leaves her TARDIS anymore.
- 7th Life:By this time in her life, Taryn has lost all ability to trust and has become manipulative and willful. There is a twinge of kindness beating somewhere within her broken hearts, but only the love of her daughter, Yvellyn, can bring it out of her.
- 8th Life: This is, sadly, Taryn's last life. She has become resentful and angry with homicidal tendencies. She would sooner slit someone's throat than be fooled into trusting them again. She sacrificed her remaining five lives to save her daughter, Magpie from death, and she is hell bent to murder the bastard who harmed her.. Her own husband, The Reaper.
History: Taryn had a very typical Gallifreyan upbringing. She never saw her mother much as she was part of the high council, but her father was ever by her side to nurture her.
At her right of passage, she looked into the void, and all she saw was brilliance and sheer beauty. She could hear a thousand stars calling out to her, temping her to join them in their swirling infinities. The name they pleaded? “The Goddess”. Since then, she has been fascinated with the stars and the wonders beyond her reach.
On her 18th birthday, she was given an amulet commissioned by her mother. It was Pazithi Gallifreya, One of the moons of Gallifrey. Five brilliant white gems formed the ring around the amulet. These gems were White Point Stars. On the back of the amulet was a golden inscription, “If the stars should appear but one night every thousand years, how man would marvel and stare“ and the intergalactic coordinates to her home, Gallifrey.
It was her mother's loving way of reminding her, no matter how far the stars take her, her home would always be near to her hearts.
In her younger years, she took a TARDIS as her own and began exploring the universe, enjoying different timelines and seeking friendship with alien species (This didnt always work out as some life forms were less friendly than others) Her travels eventually brought her to a quaint planet called earth. Her TARDIS' favorite disguise for this planet was a Soda Machine that appeared to be 'Out Of Order'.
It was here she met a tall haired haired human named Nathaniel Cross. She introduced herself as The Goddess and was stunned when he didn't seemed confused by her name and accepted it. Their relationship was uneasy at first. She always appeared at the wrong times, usually when Nate was pursuing a criminal. Once Nate was convinced that she was not involved, a much different relationship sparked. Taryn took Nate into her Taris as her companion. A romance sparked and it was a feverish one. But when Taryn realized she was pregnant, she was uncertain how to proceed and felt it best to cut ties with him.
When her daughter was born, She named her Yvie and left her on the doorstep of an orphanage. Taryn's mother had forseen the horrible tragedy of her home planet of Galifrey and wanted to leave her daughter on a planet where she knew she would be safe and planned to return for her when the time was right.
When the time war broke out, she fled with her father. Her mother stayed behind with the council as she had foreseen Gallifrey's fall. But within a few moments, the TARDISl was attacked by an unknown entity and a massive electrical overload surged through the ship killing her father. As he was beginning to regenerate, a second surge went through the console of the ship, truly killing him.
The second surge arced from the console, through her father and right into her chest, stopping one of her hearts. This jolt sent her flying back and she hit her head against the bulkhead of the ship, jarring her and restarting her heart, but it was still very weak.
Wounded and stumbling through the ship as it flew out of control, Taryn some how managed to accidentally find a medical stasis chamber. The TARDIS locked Taryn inside before losing auxiliary power, leaving only enough to power the medical stasis and send out a weak distress beacon as the ship floated aimlessly through space and time until marooning on an asteroid. Taryn was rescued several hundred years later when a salvage ship detected the distress beacon. Believing her to be human, they brought her to earth, leaving her injured unconscious form near the entrance of a hospital in Surrey.
Additional medical information: Taryn sustained severe trauma to the head, effecting the memory center of her brain. She was also hit with the electrical surge, but it wasn't enough to kill her, however one of her hearts is beating very weakly, not registering at all on a cardiograph, leading many to think she is a normal human with a single heart.
Taryn does not remember anything from her life on Gallifrey, Does not remember her human companion and lover, Nate, she does not even remember the child she bore him. She has also lost the ability to recall how to read or write her native language.
Occasionally, Taryn will absently doodle on sheets of paper when not doing anything important. These doodles of circles and lines are actually in Gallifreyan but because she can no longer read it, dismisses it as just ornate scribbles.
Taryn also suffers from a constant feeling of vertigo. A time lord can feel the world turn beneath their feet, the heavens shift all around them. Because she is no longer acclimated to this sensation, she always feels dizzy and off balance.
Role Play Sample: -The night was extremely chilly, almost threatening snow. But of course, the good ol' English weather was nothing but a tease; It never snowed. Taryn was absently wiping down a table with a soapy wash rag as she stared absently out the lightly frosted windows, looking up to the clear inky blue sky, the stars shining brilliantly in the cloudless heavens. As she looked into the depths, she could only shudder feeling sense of dread.-
"Taryn... Ground Control to Taryn, You copy?”
-The sudden sarcastic and annoyed tone of her boss, Mr. Barret, snapped her back to reality. She just stared at him, as if taking a moment to remember exactly where she was- “..... Oh.. OH, I am so sorry!! I was jus-”
-But Barret cut her off with an annoyed sigh. Mr. Barret was a much older man, nearing is late forties and beginning to go bald. He rubbed his temple for a moment and shook his head at her-
“Look, kiddo, Your order's for table 5 and 6 have been waiting for almost six minutes. You look like you've got a lot on your mind. I want you to finish up your last tables for the night and go ahead and head home.. Get some rest. It's practically dead in here, anyway, luv.”
-Taryn hung her shoulders almost dejectedly and she silently nodded. She hurried into the kitchen to pick up her orders and took them to their respective tables, apologizing for the wait. Luckily, her tables had been so busy chatting and enjoying their drinks, they hadn't noticed the delay. They each left her 5 quid tips when they left.
After she'd finished cleaning the tables, she punched out and pulled on her brown fleece-lined leather jacket. She pulled her long wavy raven hair into a tight braid and slipped on a powder blue helmet and waved goodnight to Mr. Barret and the cook, Daniel.
Daniel was a rather handsome young man with hazel eyes and sandy blond hair. He had a large collection on scars on his hands and arms from several years of cooking; getting burned and handling knives. She had a slight crush on Daniel but never had the nerve to chat him up.
She straddled her ivory white moped and sped off, glad to be away from work. It wasn't a hard job and Mr. Barret was practically a father to her, but she had been so easily distracted the last few weeks, it was almost impossible to keep up with work.
Something about the stars felt.... wrong. It was as though they were crying out to her, tiny frail voices that were warning her of danger. But, that was impossible.. Wasn't it?
Fortunately, she did not live far and was home within 10 minutes of leaving the pub. She brought her moped inside and left it to lean against the wall in the foyer and made her way to the rickety old elevator to get to the third floor. As she stood there shivering inside the old drafty lift, her thoughts wandered back to the unsettling feeling of dread she kept getting when she looked at stars.
She hurried from the lift and into her flat, clicking on the gas heater and warming her hands and face. She looked around her simple three room flat and smiled (Living room, dining room and kitchen were snuggled into a single room arrangement, then the bedroom and the bathroom) She lived alone and the flat was more than cozy as she settled at her desk which faced the window.
Her walls were scattered with posters and drawings of celestial bodies and star charts, some which were her own drawings. The drawings she had done were intricate circles within circles, crossed with lines and dots. Fancy scribbles she bemused herself with drawing in her spare time.
She pulled over her telescope, a fancy rather expensive one that she bought for herself with her Christmas bonus last year. She pulled out her tattered old journal and began jotting down notes as she zoomed out her telescope lens. But then...-
“Huh?.... What is.... That cant be!”
-She pulled her eyes from the telescope and looked at the wide lens to make sure there was nothing obscuring her view. But it was clear. She sat and resumed her observation, bewildered by what she saw.
Hovering just within the clouds of a blueish gray nebula, something that looked like an ark of lights spinning around a great disk of metal. And then she heard it, A thrall of voices as clear as her own speaking in her mind, warning her-
“They are coming, Goddess... They are coming”
-She jumped back from her desk, now terrified. She had never heard voiced before. As she backed away, she lost balance and hit her rump. She was sure she was losing her mind. Not being able to remember anything of her life except for the last 3 years, the vertigo, and now she was hearing voices.... But something compelled her to stand up and look once more at the stars. She clutched the amulet that hung from a delicate chain around her throat and drew in a deep breath.
She couldn't explain it, there was no way to rationalize why, but she wasn't afraid anymore. She dismantled her telescope and packed it neatly into its case, started pulling her drawings and notes off the walls and crammed them into her satchel. She made to head out the door and paused, looking back at her desk and snatched up her journal. She wasn’t sure why but she knew she needed it.
Bundling up in her jacket, a burgundy red scarf and woven black gloves, she hurried to her mope and sped away into the night, like something was chasing her... or.. like SHE was chasing something. On outside the city limits and up the tallest hill she could find in an open valley. She was not sure what she expected to find, but something was nagging in the back of her mind, it was here, she needed to be.-
“Come what may, I'm ready........”
