Original
Name:
Emilie Gunnar
Age:
"20"
Species:
Ganger
Planet of Origin:
A little backwater planet called Earth in Mutter's Spiral, you probably haven't heard of it yet. Although strictly speaking, she was created by and on the TARDIS. Earth is just the only planet she has ever 'lived on', and believes herself native to as well.
Occupation:
Part time university student, and I have just started working as a pharmacy assistant. Not a fully qualified technician, because that requires an exam, but still.. it's a job, and a better one than working at a butcher's or a diner personally.
Her more important job is being the Doctor's companion and making sure he doesn't lose sight of what matters.
Physical Description:
Average height, around 5'6", with angular features and a small bone structure, clinically speaking.
Face Claim: Eva Green
Personality:
I don't often get along with others, although I'm not entirely certain why. Perhaps I'm just too curious for my own good, or perhaps I've just travelled too much. I was born in France, you know. My mum and dad, they were always on the move, and I went with them until secondary and college. Then somehow I ended up stuck in the same town, having to deal with other kids for longer than a f ew months.
The charm of being a new girl wears off quickly, believe me, I know. Maybe that's why I started hiding. I hid in my books and sheets of notebook paper because if no one saw me, then no one could really touch me. But that's a lonely way to live your life. Still, I'm optimistic, I suppose. There is something or someone out there, waiting for me to see. And if I keep quiet enough, and don't frighten that miracle off, I know things will get better.
Ha. And my parents think I'm not religious at all.
I'm oh so curious though, even if I try to keep it hidden. There are so many mysteries, so many answers I would love to hear.
If anyone knows the answers, I'm learning, then it's the Doctor.
History:
From her perspective:
My parents never seem content in one place. When I was a child, I thought maybe they were explorers, but really, in the end I think they were just running from the world. As if they thought it was possible to escape it. Crazy talk, I know.
Still, I can understand why they would want to. This planet can be magnificent, and I say that without irony. In a way, I was bitter about my parents leaving me behind when I turned sixteen. In some ways, I still am. But I know they were trying to give me a chance at a normal life. A life with a nice job, a nice bloke, decent flat.
Of course, you don't always get what you wish for, but again, understand it. To a degree, anyway. I don't know if I will ever understand my parents completely. And it probably doesn't matter.
This is the 21st century, and this is when everything changes. I can feel it humming in the air, like a song.
Additional History:
There has to be at least one person I haven't completely screwed over....
When one of the many Jenny copies attempted to enter the TARDIS, she was let in... but never came out. The TARDIS absorbed the flesh, storing it for a time.
The flesh would later be recycled when, on a stop in Earth, Humanist Era, 2010, a young woman walked out of the TARDIS with programmed memories and history (much like the TARDIS had provided for the Chameleon Arched John Smith). She was left in an area where, while not precisely 'safe' since safe is boring, the girl would be well watched, right under the eyes of the Doctor's first human companions.
Because the TARDIS knew that there would be a day when the Doctor needed someone. And as much as she didn't like how their strays tended to vanish just as soon as she acquired a liking for him, the TARDIS had also noted just how much happier and easier things were for her Thief when he had someone.
And thus Emilie Gunnar was born, physical and several mental and personality attributes selected from the biodata the TARDIS carried from other companions, but possessing free will as well as no knowledge of her creation.
The choice of pharmacy as a career path was, amusingly, Emilie's own decision.
Additional Medical Information: very allergic to bee stings, if she has any other allergies they have not surfaced on Earth.
The precise DNA her ganger is based off is unknown since the TARDIS either blended genetic traits from past companions or simply selected a genetic template that worked because she could. However, since Emilie is a ganger, she is sensitive to certain frequencies on, say, a sonic or laser screwdriver. She also heals slightly faster than humans and possesses a slightly better immune system.
