Amelia Pond. The Girl Who Waited, All Night In Your Garden. Was It Worth It? Shut Up, Of Course It Was. Has It Ever Bothered You, Amy, That Your Life Doesn't Make Any Sense?
Amy sat bolt upright with a start. She breathed heavily, and remembered she was in her room. Rory had left for a while. She'd told him to go away, and he had at least for now he had. Amy got up and got dressed despite it being what? 5:30 in the morning. She wore her favorite skirt, a top, a brown jacket, a scarf and her brown boots. She brushed her hair and went downstairs.
Amy wandered round her house. The Doctor had been right about her old house...and it was the same for this one. It was too big...too many empty rooms. Oh, how she missed that traveler in time. She missed the way he could make her crack a smile at any time, whatever she was feeling, wherever they were. She missed the way he'd talk crazily about something and then he'd look at Amy as if she was mad when she said 'what?'. Amy Pond missed her Raggedy Doctor. She made her decision. She began to search for that slip of paper. It had the TARDIS number on, she was sure of it.
However, a sudden crash and bang caused Amy to shriek and fall backwards. That had come from outside! She heard other people opening their doors to look too, so she bolted to the door and looked outside.
W...wh...wo...wa...warn...warning lights! Oh they're so annoying, why did the TARDIS ever have them? I don't like warnings, they're almost as bad as spoilers. Now let's see what this is for...hm...mass disturbance, like a rift in time and space, but not. And in the time vortex itself. Is that possible? Not for this kind of disturbance. Amy and Rory will want to see this-oh wait, that's right, they aren't here. Oh well...I'll just crack on then. Now, what's this? AH! I hate it when she shudders like that. It's sure to-wait, what? The console's fading...the TARDIS is disappearing...TARDIS...tardle...tiddle toddle...tiffle...
Letting out a huge gasp and waking with a start, the Doctor immediately sat upright. Was he awake. Hard to tell...blinking a few times told him he was awake? So the room was just pitch black. Wonderful. But hang on...he had been on the TARDIS, but it was fading. Had something happened to the console room? Or was he somewhere else?
The Time Lord slowly got to his feet and dusted down his jacket. He then reached into its inside pocket and took out his sonic screwdriver. "Definitely the TARDIS," he announced to himself after waving it about in the air. "And stationery." So it had landed. But where? "Hello?!" he shouted, before remembering again that he was the only one on board.
Amy gasped as she saw the TARDIS. Making sure she had her house key she went towards the TARDIS door after shutting her front one. But Amy paused. Did she really want to see the Doctor if it actually was him?
Shut up Amy of course you do. So Amy reached out her hand and pushed open the door. She smiled at the familiar creaking noise that the door made when opened. Amy had the guts to step inside. "Doctor?" she called out.
No, impossible. She wasn't here, not on the TARDIS. But he was sure that he had heard her voice! "Amy, is that you?" the Doctor asked tentatively, testing to see if his mind was playing tricks on him. There was no way she could be here. His time machine could've landed anywhere in the universe at any point in time. What were the chances he haf arrived at the Ponds' home? But then he thought...given what had happened, it was better being safe than sorry.
"Amy, whatever you do, stay out of the TARDIS!" He hoped she heard him. He was probably several corridor runs away from the console room. Then there was another shudder that caused him to stumble into something. "OW!" He held out his hand to stop himself from falling. Thankfully it landed on...what? Was that...the Time Rotor? He reached down with his other hand to feel...yes, it was definitely the dematerialization lever. But they must've disappeared, because he suddenly fell through empty air and landed on his face. "Ouch...the one time where you don't want to have a big nose." He got up again. What had just happened? Was it an illusion? Whatever it was, he wasn't in the console room where Amy would be if she had stepped inside. He just hoped she had heard his warning.
"Yes, it's me silly!" she called back. Amy blinked. It was pitch black. Without her doing anything, the TARDIS doors slammed shut. She ran to try and open them but they were locked. "I can't get out, the doors are stuck!" she said. She stopped trying to force open the door, and took a tiny step forward.
Amy remembered the little light on her house keys. She took the light off the keyring, put her keys in her pocket and flicked on the light. It was quite bright. She was in the console room. She made her way towards the stairs, and started going up them. She couldn't see the Doctor anywhere down here, so she was going to look upstairs.
Amy tripped on something and fell. "Ouch!" she said. She could feel blood on her leg, but she got up and started going up the stairs again. When she got to the top, she started walking towards the left, unsure of which way to go so just going with her instincts.
So it was her! She was here! It was a relief to hear her voice again. But now she was trapped inside with him. Typical. Though would he expect any less from her? Now that the TARDIS was closed for now, they'd have to work together to get out. "Amy, can you see anything?" the Doctor asked. "At all? It's pitch black wherever I am, nothing to be seen...I don't know how I'm going to get to you."
"Yes, I've got a light. Where are you?" Amy said, trying to go towards the sound of his voice. Suddenly, the light went out. "Damn, my light has gone out completely!" Amy said. She cursed under her breath and went towards where she remembered hearing the Doctor's voice.
"Where am I? I honestly don't know, can't see a thing." The Doctor scratched his chin. "Be careful!" he shouted in concern when she said her torch had gone off. Then his eyes fell on something...it was the TARDIS console in the middle of the room. He ran towards it, but as soon as he reached it. "This is weird..." he went on, speaking to himself and Amy. "I keep seeing the TARDIS console, but then it disappears." He took out the sonic again and worked with it. "I'm going to set my screwdriver to a setting...there! Whenever it sounds like this, you should be heading in the right direction. Like back on the Byzantium." He looked at the buzzing device, hoping that it worked.
Amy got to a door. And the buzzing of the sonic meant she was at the right place. She fumbled around a bit and the door opened. "Wow, it's pitch black in here..." she muttered. Suddenly her torch came back to life. As Amy stepped in the room, the door slammed shut. "Not again!" she said. She pulled at the door handle. Nothing. "Perfect. Just perfect." she muttered.
There was a noise, and a channel of light appeared. The Doctor looked through it and saw..."AMY!" He ran towards and nearly crashed into her just as her light went on and the door locked. But his joy at seeing her was the only thing on his mind this instant. "You're back!" he grinned, wrapping her in a tight hug. "Welcome back, Pond."
"I missed you too." The Doctor couldn't stop grinning as he hugged her. But then he remembered their current situation. "We're not safe here. At least, I don't think we are..." He let go of Amy to look around. "I have no idea whereabouts in the TARDIS we are, I don't know what happened...I don't know anything!" He kicked the door, resulting in his face forming a grimace, though he did his best not to look like he was hurt before turning to Amy.
Amy rolled her eyes. "That will have hurt." she said, referring to him kicking the door. She slipped her hand into his. "What's going to happen to us?" she asked.
Suddenly, the lights in the room flickered on. She turned round and nearly screamed. She didn't: she shrieked. There, right in front of her, was a weeping angel.
"Apparently, that," the Doctor said upon seeing the Angel. He was afraid, of course he was, but he tried not to show it. And he couldn't help but wince at Amy's shriek. "Amy, listen to me, we'll be fine," he assured her, squeezing her hand and keeping his eyes on the Angel. "It won't get us. We're safe."
"How are we safe?!" Amy demanded. She had a feeling that they weren't. Suddenly, she realized what the angel was doing. It was pointing at the..."Doctor." Amy said, as the light began to flicker. "It's turning off the light!"
