Second incarnation:
Third incarnation:
Name: The Overseer
Age: 825
Gender: Male
Species: Time Lord/Gallifreyan
Planet of Origin: GallifreyOccupation: Renegade/Mercenary Time Lord (depends on the circumstances at hand)
Physical Description: Although his appearance has changed twice in his lifetime, the Overseer’s current incarnation sports thick brown-black hair, conspicuous sideburns and facial hair, and a prominent chin. He is rather thin and wiry physique-wise, and he is not quite as adept at martial combat as his second and first incarnations. He often carries a somber expression about him, much akin to that of his first incarnation. In terms of clothing, the Third Overseer is not very picky, and often dresses in casual human wear, such as jeans and typical solid-colored shirts. One notable aspect of his wardrobe, however, is his liking for vests.
Personality: The Overseer’s third incarnation is admittedly quite an enigma. He boasts a large emotional range, and can go from completely jovial and carefree to pensive and serious in seemingly a matter of seconds. Most often, he allows his intelligence to show, and he is unashamed of displaying his vast knowledge of the universe. He has a tendency to ramble, and can become fidgety if nervous or uncomfortable. Overall, he is a likeable incarnation, although his personality can occasionally be volatile. He has a fairly short fuse, though not as short as his previous, more reckless incarnation. When angered, the Third Overseer can become withdrawn and passive, and often responds halfheartedly if someone tries to console him. He is very much a loner in this regard.
History: The Overseer was born on Gallifrey, and spent the majority of his younger years studying at the academy. When he was eight years of age, in accordance with the ritual associated with Time Lord development, he was forced to stare into the Untempered Schism. His response was an odd one: mild intrigue, as if he was simply staring at a passing cloud. Most Time Lords went mad or became afraid upon viewing the Schism. Perplexed, the Overseer’s peers sent him through school nonetheless where he achieved top grades.
His early adult life was spent in relative idleness, until the Time War broke out. The Overseer was in his first incarnation at the time, and said incarnation possessed an extreme dislike for violence. Instead, he opted to escape the planet, stealing a TARDIS along the way. Although his piloting skills were lackluster at first, they gradually began to improve, as the symbiotic connection between him and his TARDIS strengthened. Being the curious soul that he was, he deemed that exploring the universe was the most viable option for him at this point.
After a couple hundred years in the standard time progression sequence, the Overseer contracted a severe reaction to a toxic gas found in the atmosphere of a remote planet he was exploring, and was forced to regenerate. His second incarnation was far brasher and outwardly arrogant than his previous form, as well as braver overall. This period of newfound internal vigor nearly convinced him to return to Gallifrey and confront his meeker past through nostalgia, but he relented at the last moment.
Still having no companions, the Second Overseer pressed onward with his travels, logging in even more planets and celestial bodies. One fateful day, his TARDIS was intercepted by a band of heavily gambling space pirates. Although they were initially too drunk to do much with the captured Overseer, the latter was shot by a plasma bolt while attempting to escape. Mortally wounded, the Second Overseer staggered back to his TARDIS and regenerated in transit to a safer area.
The Overseer is now in his third incarnation, and he is actively continuing his exploration of the endless universe.
Additional medical information: The Overseer contracted a deadly reaction to a foreign gas in the atmosphere of a desolate planet during his first incarnation, but this problem was rectified when he regenerated. In his second form, the Overseer was shot point-blank in the back by a plasma rifle, but this was healed by his next regeneration. The Third Overseer is currently in good health.
Role Play Sample: Vworp. Vworp. Vworp.
The Overseer was well-acquainted with the plethora of sounds his faithful TARDIS produced in transit, and that may very well be an understatement. For perhaps over half of his near-thousand years, the Time Lord spent every single traveling occasion in his beloved bio-ship. She had served as his only perpetual companion ever since he had “borrowed” her from Gallifrey, her port of call, all those years ago. Ironically, however, the word “aged” would not correspond to the Overseer’s current physical appearance. It had been quite some time since he had been forced to regenerate for the second time in his lengthy life, and this particular regeneration had yielded him with yet another youthful ensemble. However, even now, he still felt unacquainted with his new self.
The Third Overseer would most probably be characterized as a young man in his late twenties to early thirties by human standards. Unlike his previous two incarnations, which had given him defined, well-built physiques, this one had bestowed him with a slender, wiry frame, adorned by unkempt dark brown hair, slightly rounded blue-green eyes, and thick sideburns. He had taken to dressing himself in an oddly svelte fashion, garnishing himself with a 1950s-era suit vest and undershirt.
And here I was thinking I’d surely be ginger this time, he thought, absentmindedly drumming his long fingers in a cadent rhythm on the main control column’s surface. His trusty vessel would do the majority of the work for him, as usual. No defined destination had been entered into her central cognition, but the Overseer hadn’t really considered this of the utmost priority. Sometimes, he’d permit the TARDIS to surprise him and allow her to calibrate her own coordinates, much akin to an autopilot function. This was actually quite inefficient in comparison to the Overseer’s commandeering prowess, but it was a treat for her on occasion.
