Charles sat behind the counter of the china store, Bella Nova had blended in by becoming a bit of a pun. SInce they were picking up Rina,Bella thought it would be funny to become a china shop because of Charles nickname for her. While Charles thought it was funny and pretty good camouflage,he had gotten so many old ladies walking in browsing the china before seeing his robot face and leaving quickly. Charles had made conversation with a few while staying behind a curtain. The conversation had gone well until he stepped out from behind the curtain. Then they left rather quickly with Charles sighing.
It got worse when his arm sprung an oil leak and was patching up when a group of school kids on a field trip wandered in. The teacher was obviously worried but the kids thought Charles' copper, silver and wired arm was really cool until one of them pulled out a wire hurting Charles and the kid. They left shortly after that. At this point he really just wanted Rina to show up so they could get this show on the road and do something cool. He also could set her up with some bone strengthening thing. He let his mind wander over the fact that there were people out in the world that liked the way he looked and how he acted. He was pretty used to being ignored by most people after all. Most people assumed he was some weird street performer and kept handing him money. Which he guessed wasn't a terrible thing, it was just annoying when he was trying to head somewhere.
So China Doll was now 3 hours late... Charles was starting to wonder if she'd show up. He had started to write down the lyrics to Honey Bee trying to remember the words. The song had been in his head since he had woken up for the first time but he still couldn't get them.
Oh, Turpentine erase me whole
Cause I don't want to live my life alone Well I was waiting for you all my life Oh
Why

Katharina Diederich was normally quite punctual. She’d rather chew off her own leg than make someone wait for her. It was, therefore, quite distressing to her that she was so late meeting Charles. It had all started innocently enough – she’d groggily groped for her phone as it rung almost four hours earlier, assuming it was going to be a client. It was, however, the voice of her mother meekly requesting assistance as she had fallen and broken both legs and sprained her wrist during an unfortunate gardening incident. So Rina had quickly hurried to her parents’ small home and helped her mother.
The hospital system – while mostly efficient – was rather slow. Katharina kept checking her watch anxiously, knowing that she had promised Charles that she would meet him. He had seemed like a rather nice fellow, but men were mostly always nice to her. Still, as nice as he was to her, she wouldn’t abandon her mother in the hospital. Rina remained stubbornly at Enet’s side even when the doctors had glanced rather pointedly at her in an effort to get her away. Her mother had chosen bright pink and lime green casts – the green for her legs and the pink for her wrist.
She helped her mother get back home and waited for her father to get out of the lecture he was preparing at. Once her father hurried into the door to check on his wife – and Katharina had prepared lunch for the two – Rina practically ran off to Charles’ little ‘china shop’. She opened the entrance and leaned against for a moment, catching her breath. Her two hearts made it easier for her to run long distances, but she still found it hard to keep up the pace. “Charles!” she chirped cheerfully, scurrying over to the tall android and smiling up at him.
“I’m very sorry that I’m late,” she said, brushing a tendril of dark and curly hair behind her ear. She realized she must look like a mess – she hadn’t had time to brush her hair after getting out of bed, and she had just grabbed a pair of shorts and a shirt in her haste. “Sorry.”
Charles smiled as Rina slid into the store heavy breathing and all. A clipped laugh that sounded like a mix of a cat purring and gears grinding together. "I would have probably gone into sleep mode if you hadn't have shown up in time." Sleep mode was a helpful thing. Going into sleep mode earlier would have probably made the last few hours go by quicker, but Charles enjoyed meeting normal people. Charles motioned for Rina to stay where she was as he moved into the back of the store. He had wandered back here for two reasons.
1. He was looking for the giant box filled with information on planets and time periods that he'd though would be interesting to explore. The planet of hats was at the top of the pile, which made Charles chuckle lightly since he did enjoy a good hat. With that thought he flicked the brim of the short hat that sat propped on his head.
2. Charles needed to check himself over for anything falling apart or broken. While he couldn't stop his repeating or malfunctions, he could at least stop himself from losing a limb in ancient Egypt or something like that. He then undid his shirt and opened up his chest plate. The tubes and wires were all running as usual, his current core heart was also working at 100%. after closing up his chest and re buttoning up his shirt he reappeared in the main part of the store with the box of papers.
"Well this is what I found-found in the back." Charles proceded to dump most of the papers and notes onto the counter knocking over some of the china with a crash. Te china wasn't really a big deal after all since it was all created by Bella after all.
"I would have probably gone into sleep mode if you hadn't shown up in time."
Katharina smiled and looked down at her feet sheepishly. "I'm sorry," she repeated. "I didn't mean to be so late." Still, he didn't need to worry about her family and their medical problems. He already had enough to worry about without her adding to his list of problems. After all, it couldn't be very easy to always be falling apart. She figured that they could sort of understand each other. Charles was very fragile in his own way - with his constant twitching and whirling and how she always had to follow behind and pick up the broken pieces as they came. Katharina was fragile as well, with her hollow bones and tiny stature.
She took a step forward as he went to go to the back of the shop. He held up a hand, however, and Rina stopped following him, instead perusing the TARDIS' collection of china. They weren't very unique, although they were quite lovely. She held one in her hand and concentrated. She could feel the radiation on the china dishes. She put the china very carefully on the shelf again, looking at the decorations. The one she had been admiring was white with a light pink decoration.
Rina appreciated the sentiment the TARDIS had displayed. After all - Charles called her Chinadoll due to her weak body, fragility, and her meek attitude. Charles returned from another room, and she turned to him, walking to the counter where he stood. He knocked down some china and Rina jumped at the sudden crashing noises as he laid down papers and notes.
"Well this is what I found-found in the back."
Katharina picked up a few pages and tilted her head. "Interesting," she said after a moment. "Are these schematics?"
"Are these schematics?" Charles smiled again as he dusted off the leather bound book that sat on top of the pile. His vision focused in on the title. '100001 places to visit before you die' He extended the book out to her to flip through and read.
"There travel plans and ideas actually" Charles let out a peal of his robotic purring laughter as he began to pick up the broken china. "Bella, we can take off now" The china shop rattled and the store image began to fade away to a room that looked like a mix between the hall of mirrors in the palace of versailles and a bar from L.A. that Charles always fancied. Bella Nova hummed softly as Charles approached a console. Charles flicked a few switches while pulling open a large touchscreen revealing a large map of multiple galaxies. There was a clacking sound as one of Charles' fingers unhinged and fell onto the floor rolling towards Katharina.

Rina took the book from him and leaned against the counter, flipping through the thick book curiously. She had been to a few of these places, but this list certainly seemed quite more expansive than her own travels. She was limited by her Dulcian technology. And the Daleks had even destroyed that, but not that she minded. The Overseer had saved her, so that was fine.
She leaned down to help him pick up the glass. She gripped the side of the counter to keep from falling over. She threw them away, looking around at the TARDIS as it began to change. She’d rather liked Charles’ TARDIS, especially the name. “Where are we going?” she asked, putting the book on the counter as she picked up his finger. It might have bothered someone else that their best friend was falling apart, but Rina’s policy was one of “total acceptance.” Rina handed him the finger. Rina looked pensively at the map. “That one is close to Dulkis,” she pointed out, pointing to one of the galaxies. She looked to her friend. “Which did you have in mind?”
Charles re-screwed on his finger and pressed an image of a small milky white planet in a lower portion of the screen. In return Bella Nova brought up an image of a larger sea green planet and chirped happily. Charles sighed as he jabbed at the white planet but Bella let out an error sound that just got louder with each jab of the android's finger. eventually the sound stopped as did the jabbing since Charles' hand eventually went through the touch screen. With an angry grunt Charles detached his wrist from his hand, patting Bella lightly with his remaining hand,he apologized to the tardis.
The touch screen dropped into a hole into the center of the console where a large projection of the planet came up front and center, an audible crunch was heard as Charles' hand was crunched up by whatever was on the center of the console. Charles groaned looking at his wrist.... "Might as well switch bodies now.." Charles set about pressing a few buttons with his remaining hand. A light hiss was heard from a few feet away as a platform rose showing off a new robotic body made of titanium, which almost glowed in the soft lights of Bella Nova.

Katharina raised an eyebrow. “Switch bodies?” she inquired. She knew of Time Lords switching bodies, of course... her first adventure with the Overseer had resulted in him dying because of a genetic fault in the Time Lords’ DNA. And although Charles had a TARDIS, that didn’t mean he was a Time Lord... did it? He certainly didn’t look like any other Time Lord she’d met, and she reckoned that she knew her fair share. And even if he were a Time Lord, could they truly just change bodies?
“Oh, yes,” she said belatedly, looking at the console where Charles’ hand had been crushed. She supposed that she shouldn’t be so surprised by it.. After all, her friend didhave a tendency to break apart at various moments. “Switching bodies. That’s... good?”
"Yeah switching bodies would probably be the best idea, especially since Bella DESTROYED my hand." He gave Bella a playful smack on her console as he headed over to the matching display bed next to the new body. He smiled at Rina as he laid down and started to plug himself in. "No worries I'll be waking up in the taller, more handsome body in a few minutes. Then I promise we'll do something really cool." Charles winked before laying back entirely while slowly making sure a small cord was connecting to the port in his neck. The cord connected and he began to drift slowly losing power as if he was for once going to sleep. Most of his memories went straight into his new body but he still sorted a few things. The main thing was that he erased any desire to find out what honeybee meant to him. From now on it was just going to be some random song to him with no purpose.
After some more clean up Charles' mind settled fully into his new casing and opened his eyes. He was taller, his eyes were green instead of the blue and green eyes his old body had. He had hair of some sort as well as a more human like appearance. He smiled as he sat up and then shakily stood next to the table. Charles winked at Katharina and opened his mouth to say something but a dribble of oil came spilling out of his mouth.
A taller, more handsome body? Katharina smiled a little nervously, but nodded. “I see,” she said, putting her arms behind her back and watching him curiously. She had seen the Overseer regenerate before, but the Overseer hadn’t been... well, robotic. Rina didn’t mean to be rude or speciest, but she found the possibility of a Time Lord Robot quite intriguing, even if she did have her suspicions he wasn’t totally a Time Lord. She took a step closer, trying to keep a polite distance as he ‘died’, but her scientific curiosity was winning out over her polite demeanor.
She wasn’t worried about doing something really cool – she was content to stay in her bakery and cook all day. Rina didn’t thrive on excitement, not the way other people around her seemed to. She watched, intrigued, as his circuits did the work to transfer his consciousness, and presumably everything else, over to a new casing. Once he sat up, she observed him carefully. He seemed quite different – he was certainly taller, and perhaps a little handsomer.
Rina returned his smile, tilting her head softly as she dug in the pockets of her dress for a handkerchief. “Oh, here you are, Charles,” she said, hurrying over to him and wiping off his mouth. She pressed the handkerchief in his hands. “How are you feeling?” she asked, concerned. Hopefully this body wouldn’t be falling apart – she was constantly fretting over Charles casually dropping his body parts everywhere before.
Charles bent down letting Rina wipe the sludge off of his mouth. He guessed there were a few things that he needed to fix within the ‘new’ body. In honesty the body was just as old as his other one. But it had just sat in storage, while he had over used the other one. Once his lip was clean he headed over to Bella’s controls. He had to lean over forward a bit more than he used too. Everything felt a little off, but again his new body was whole compared to the one that kept falling apart.
“Alright lets think of a place to go.” Bella produced maps of 3 different planets. “Well there’s a desert planet.” The planet that popped up was dark brown with a swirl of red moving slowly around it’s equator. Charles looked at the data for the planet and then grimaced. “The population is known for eating visitors... never mind on that one.” He clicked to the next one which was completely dark and a large red ‘NOPE’ appeared over the hologram, Bella was letting her opinion be known apparently. The next planet looked like a paradise for a kid, it looked like a world made of cotton candy, a closer look appeared in holographic form creating an image of a lilac sky, pink grass and stark white trees. A large bunny then passed by what was supposedly a camera. “Well what do you think?”
She pocketed the handkerchief, following him over to the TARDIS’s controls curiously. Rina rubbed the back of her head as the TARDIS laid out some ideas for them. Rina looked at the desert planet curiously. “Oh,” she said, clasping her hands together. “That planet looks very lovely!” she said kindly, but her smile faltered slightly as Charles declared that that planet’s inhabitants were known for eating people. “Ah,” she chuckled. “We should probably avoid that one then.” As keen as she was to giving everyone a chance, being murdered and eaten wasn’t high on her to-do list.
The next planet was apparently not the TARDIS’ top choice. Rina laughed. “Oh dear, I suppose that one’s out of the question,” she said. The next made Rina grin widely. It looked like something out of her grade school drawings – when she had envisioned a perfect planet, it had been often similar to this. “Oh, it’s so beautiful!” she said, in awe. As the bunny passed, Rina gasped happily and clutched Charles eagerly. “I think we should go to this one! Did you see that cute rabbit? Adorable!” she gushed.
“I wonder why Bella didn’t want us to go to the other one,” she said curiously, her scientific interest creeping back slowly. It wasn’t the normal behavior for a Dulcian to be so insatiably inquisitive, but Rina decided that the TARDIS knew more than she did about mostly everything (though the young Dulcian was confident that she could bake better than the TARDIS, though stranger things had happened than being outbaked by a sentient machine).
"Yeah, I think the planet of bunnies is do-able." Charles smiled as Bella took care of plugging in the coordinates. Charles moved to sit down on one of the large plush chairs that sat off in a corner. He thought of a good way to explain the block on specific planets. " Bella has blocks programmed into it. I am a robotic creation, who ever created me put the blocks in so I wouldn't travel to them. I've tried breaking into one of the planets. It didn't work and I got sent back to my room by Bella."
Since he had cleaned out his brain with the body transition he was seeing more things as he really was, he was a robot with human memories storied in the back of his brain. He processed this all quickly and felt sad that he wasn't really alive but at the same time it was okay because hey new body= less falling apart. Bella let out a small chime signaling that they had landed Charles stood and stretched feeling his outward plates shift and connect before slipping into its correct location. He walked over to the doors taking in the view.
Pink was a predominate feature of the land, white trees with pink leaves clashing with the muted hues of the sunset which was slowly creeping behind purple mountains that glittered in the remaining light. Then the giant bunny came bounding for them.
