so this is dante, my-"that's captain dante wilder to you."whoops, sorry! this is captain dante wilder of the vanquisher, a space pirate, smuggler and prankster of the highest calibre with a penchant for boxed noodles and 20th century rock music. the vanquisher is programmed with a moody artificial intelligence that she has no idea how her grandfather put up with and frequently threatens to find some way to throw it out of the airlock. dante sticks to her guns and her morals, she is very set in her ideals and way of life and does find it hard to see things from another perspective outside of battle plans. to put it simply, she isn't very good at following orders - there's a reason why she wasn't a soldier!her crew consists of lars, the second in command; irwin, the engineer; kahler-dax, the muscle and the medic; and ood, the butler. ood was rescued from a seedy bar and quickly became one of the crew, though their efforts to teach him to play cards have been thus far futile. the vanquisher is a sluggish looking ship on the outside, but inside the interior has been upgraded to match modern technology. dante likes to explore (just don't put her in 'nature'), takes opportunities when they come her way and drives a hard bargain. it's more than a way of life for, it's what's ingrained in her bones.her travels also have another motive - to find her father. when the space station exploded during the time war, dante was stowed away aboard a pirate ship but her father had to trade some stock for a place aboard the last ship out of town. that ship turned out to be a slavers ship and due to her fathers 'unique' heritage (being half human-half silurian) he was sold to a collector of rare creatures and hybrids. dante has only just touched the tip of the iceberg with this, and her ultimate goal is to take down the collector keeping him captive, second even to rescuing her father.threads with dante can spiral off in any direction (though if any tardis's want to land on the lower decks of the vanquisher be prepared to be thrown out of the airlock without a second thought - dante is tired of the hold being used as a spaceport!). she can be found on earth (though she doesn't really like planets, something to do with being born and raised on a space station and then living her life aboard a space ship), out in space or reached over a secure line.dante means business, but that doesn't mean her business is mean (most of the time).THREADS:

ballet dancer rosa may look demure and naive, but she has a quick mind and can run in heels so villains watch out! in all honesty, rosa is the kind to catch spiders under a cup and release them out of the dressing room, all whilst trying to hold back a squeal. picked from the 1960s, rosa was taken on a trip by the 8th doctor after helping him defend her dance and theatre from being overrun by aliens. after a close call with death, rosa ended up in modern day london and has had to pick herself back up from the ground. she dances once again with the ballet and is very happy to keep her feet on solid ground for the time being.
the most likely place to run into rosa is one of the many museums, art galleries and coffee shops around london. quite often she can disappear off for hours on one of her walks, hands in her coat pockets and her head in the clouds (or stars). rosa is incredibly compassionate and will honestly be a friend for anyone, seriously she's hell bent on getting people to like her and cheering them up if they're grumpy.

no-one really knows what 8-ball is. not the scientists at torchwood, not her old friends, not her new ones, not even she knows what the virus did to her. 8-ball originally came from an alternate version of earth devastated by the zombie apocalypse. after scavenging with her friends, they were overrun and 8-ball was bitten twice. she came to earth after meeting a dying timelord who had somehow crashed into the alternate dimension and had gotten himself bitten. with the combined force of his dying tardis's energy and some timeywimey hanky panky she ended up in cardiff and was greeted by the torchwood welcome wagon. the time energy directed at her froze her in a stasis, unable to age and unable to let the virus progress further.
she's snappy, defensive and anxious about a lot of things, riddled with bad habits and thieving tendencies. now working as an informant for torchwood when she can, the girl spends most of her time out on the streets breaking into vending machines, decorating the walls with spraypaint and trying to lie as low as possible. when approached, she's gruff and crude, blunt to the point of being insulting and laughs at things that probably shouldn't be funny. they're all defence mechanisms left over from trying to stay alive. when her home world was wrecked she had to put a lot of boundaries up against the things she had to do in order to survive. it's taking a long time in this new world to break them down, but ever so slowly they are crumbling.
threads with 8-ball will involve lots of shenanigans and are bound to be a lot of fun. and if you really want a story, just ask why she's called 8-ball...
