William set the cane down next to the picnic table before setting the bag of donuts and a cup of coffee on the table. Groaning quietly, he sat down on the bench. Taking a deep breath he looked around for a moment before picking the cup of coffee up and taking a careful sip. Setting the cup down he swallowed slowly. Today was the first day off in two weeks of working, the man felt that he needed it. He was fed up with people babying him since he took the bullet for Nate, which landed him an almost permanent position as a paper pusher than someone who goes out in the field. 

Growling some, William opened the bag, pulling a donut out he took an appropriate bite of the food. He looked to the bag then to the cellphone that was sitting on the picnic table in front of him. He chewed quietly, staring at the small object as though he was expecting a phone call or text message from someone at work. Grabbing it he turned it to vibrate and stuffed the cellphone into his pocket before taking a bigger bite of the donut again. 

Finishing the small snack up he cleaned his fingers and rolled the open end of the bag up to keep unwanted creatures from getting into the bag. Folding his hands together he looked around the small park, barely anyone appeared to be wondering around since it was a school as well as a  work day.  Picking the coffee up again he took another sip that turned to a gulp as he discovered that the contents were much cooler now. A sigh escaped from his lips as William set the cup back down and looked up in time to see someone familiar approaching him, "Would you like to join me Rina?" William's expression brightened as he watched her, tilting his head, "I promise that I won't bite.. Although I might just embarrass you a little.. Maybe a lot." He laughed quietly, rubbing at his leg a little.

Katharina Diederich was a creature usually described as ethereally peaceful and calm. ‘Calm’, however, was not one to describe her on this particular day. She had her delivery bag hanging around her, her light brown hair was tied up hastily into a ponytail, and she was almost certain that she had broken the soles of her flats. She took a pause, bending over to put her hands on her knees as she panted. She often jogged to clear her mind, but she had been literally running back and forth across the entirety of London.

It was one disaster after another, really. A call from the hospital informing her that her mother had broken another limb, a call from one of her employees telling her that there had been a minor mishap (fire) in the kitchen, a call from one of her clients pleading for a last minute delivery, a call from her father asking her to deliver some papers he had forgotten to his office in the university, and finally a call from Léon to take her out to a nice restaurant. It was a lovely and welcome gesture after such a long day. ‘A long day’, and it was hardly even six in the afternoon.

She ran a hand through her hair as she continued her way through the park, glancing around her and spotting a familiar face. Rina put on her trademark smile and practically skipped towards him, positively beaming when he remembered her name. “Of course I would like to join you, detective!” she chirped happily, sitting across from him and pulling out her delivery bag. “Would you like some food?” she asked, pulling out a few sandwiches and cupcakes that hadn’t been unwrapped during her last delivery.

Her eyes widened as he told her that he might embarrass her. “Why on earth would I be embarrassed of you?” she asked, sounding quite scandalized as she reached over and put her hand on his. “I’m honored to sit with you! I hold the police force in very high esteem, and especially working at the COPA. It can’t be easy,” she said, knowing not to ask about his work. “How is your wife?”
