Well it took a few good days for it to get here, but it finally arrived. And Sybille couldn't have been more relieved. It hadn't quite been the luggage she was still waiting for, but hey! At least her apartment wouldn't be quite so bare anymore. Almost all of her things that she had shipped over to england had finally made it in almost perfect condition. Which meant she didn't have to sleep in that sleeping bag on the wood flooring again! Well.. As soon as she set up her bed and everything else, anyway..
In any case, for Sybille this was a life saver. Almost as good as a fresh cup of strong hot coffee in the morning. And while it certainly wasn't the morning, didn't mean she couldn't go out and get her one. In fact! That's exactly what she planned to do. Sybille whistled for her beagle Toby, grinning as she watched him run across the hardwood flooring. His floppy made him look like he was trying to fly, it really was adorable. "Wanna go for a walk, Toby?" She asked as she got his leash and harness. The only reply she got was rapid tail wagging, which she took for a yes.
She sighed happily as she took a sip from her coffee. It wasn't the best one she ever had, but it was a close second. Now she was hanging around at the dog park, watching as Toby sniffed around the grass. So far it was a good day off, peaceful, relaxing, and she didn't have to deal with Cross. Though Sybille did have to say despite how difficult the man was.. He and Will did make a good, if not somewhat comical, team. Sybille shook her head, trying to get her mind of work, and focused on the world around her.
Lizzie was having the worst day of her young life. First when she woke up this morning she was greeted by a family of bats in her make shift closet. After checking that she wasn't going to turn into a vampire, she walked over to her laptop to check some things, and maybe play a game of tetris. But when she opened it up, a explosion of sparks shot out at her causing her to fall out of her chair. When she was sure it wasn't going to catch on fire she got back up and poked her laptop. " Great! Just great! Let's give Elizabeth a reason to commit suicide shall we Universe!" Frustrated she grabbed her laptop and threw it in the dumpster below her window. Before Lizzie did something she would probably regret she grabbed her satchel and headed out the door, for a walk.
Instead of going to her usual cafe she decided to take a walk through one of London's park's. 'Ugg nature. It's not as great as I thought it would be.' She reached into her pocket and took out her cell phone, and started playing Tetris while walking. Lizzie would usually play this game if she was frustrated and needed to calm herself, or if she was just bored. Unfortunately sense Lizzie was so in tuned with her magical game of tetris she didn't notice the tree in front of her, before she slammed into it head on falling backwards onto the ground. " Owchie".
William was out in the park walking quietly, he called in to have a much needed day off work. Yeah he might get an earful from Nate, but he really did not care. These cases that have been popping into the office have been really stressing since his partner had been pushing to solve the cases. He felt bad for Russ, the new forensics kid who had just started working with Nate a little over a week ago. He had not noticed that Sybille walking passed the coffee shop he was in until he stepped out of the building and looked down the street. He could recognize the woman anywhere, "Sybille? Sybille Watson!" He walked forward and looked down to the beagle with some concern as it lowered his head to him. Not wanting to be attacked by the dog, William took a small step back, "Are you having a day off as well?"
The man placed his hand on the back of the bench and looked around, it was a nice day out. A very nice day. No rain, just the sunshine, "I took the day off, I can't stay cooped up in the office on a day like this." He took a very careful sip of his coffee and looked across as a girl walked right into a tree, "Are you alright?"
There was something about these cool calming walks that seemed to make Sybille forget about the stress in her life. Granted she could keep fairly calm, however with the move and new job and certain co-workers. Things happened to get very crazy, very fast.
"Sybille?" For example, someone was calling out to her. "Sybille Watson!" She took a sip of her coffee before turning to the man, whom she recognized as her co-worker. Detective William Robertson, or Will. The man who like to pull a prank on Nate every so often.
"Will, funny running into you." Sybille replied, as Toby began to sniff his shoes. "Yeah, actually I am. How are you?" She took a seat next to him, might as well right? It was a good chance to get to know at least one of her fellow Detectives a bit better.
"I know what you mean." She nodded towards his reasoning for taking the day off. "I got the day off to collect the rest of my things from shipping." Bringing the coffee cup to her lips as she took another slow sip. If she didn't know any better, she could have sworn the coffee was from heaven. Luckily, she knew better.
Sybille stiffened as she heard a couple soft thuds, along with a remark from the pain. It didn't take her long to notice the young lady who had apparently fallen to the ground. Or rather hit a tree, then fell.
She stood up and walked over to the woman, offering her a hand to help her sit up. Toby, meanwhile, began to sniff her clothes, as a way to try and familiarize himself with her scent. "Toby.." Sybille snapped her fingers at him, in a motion for him to sit, which he promptly did, wagging his brown and black tail all the way. "Good boy."
She turned her attention back to the girl on the ground, and held up her index finger. "I want you to follow my finger with your eyes, alright?" She asked as she slowly moved her hand to the left in a sliding motion; Then to the right; And finally she made her hand move in a circle motion. All she was doing was trying to determine, if the young woman would need immediate medical care or not. She supposed in this instance, it was a good thing that she has doctors for parents. "What are you feeling as of right now?"
Lizzie layed on the ground for a second, feeling a headache coming. This just wasn't her day, as it? She jumped a little as some dog sniffed her clothing. " Nice doggy, please don't eat me.." She was relieved when it's owner came over and told it to sit.
"I want you to follow my finger with your eyes, alright?" Lizzie followed the woman's finger with her eyes. " I feel fine, just a bit of a headache." She stood up to make her point, only for her vision to go black, falling back to the ground. " The universe just does not like me today." Lizzie looked up at the woman standing above her. " My names Elizabeth by the way, tech genius by night, and complete klutz by day." She gave the woman a wide grin, before looking around frantically for her phone. She finally spotted it a couple feet away from her head and reached to grab it, when she brought it back she noticed that it was a complete wreck. Crushed. Broken. DEAD.
" Not my baby!" She quickly got up ignoring the blackness that rimmed her eyes. " It took me three weeks to make her. And now look at her. All broken, and dead. It's going to take me forever to retrieve the data, not to mention my high scores on Tetris." She was devastated, first her precious laptop, and now her baby. The universe was out to get her..
