UNIT.
Humans with guns.
Fat lot of good it did them when the aliens came knocking at their door. Compared to many of the aliens; the Cybermen, the Daleks - to name a few, humans were...primitive in all sense of the word. Unable to guide themselves without their latest craze for technology, think for themselves, or crave for someone to look up to.
He quite enjoyed his time on the Valiant, until his ex-wife Lucy Saxon had shot him.
But now, he roamed the streets, hungry eyes seeking the nearest stalls, hands tucked firmly into the hoodie pocket. Night life in London certainly was lively; humans laughing, eating, drinking. The Master turned the corner, watching the civility of it all. His mind remained open enough to skim surface thoughts and emotions, oh how hungry they made him. The smell of meat made his mouth salivate, tongue rolling across his lips as he paused in his step--
A soldier had appeared at his cell, The Master had his eyes closed, sitting still in the temporary cell that they had thrown him into. He could hear the jangle of keys as they slapped against the door, the grunt of steel against concrete as the door was opened slightly.
There were six of them, of course, it was to be expected once they figured out who he was. Being that everything had remained as it had since the fall of Rassilon (or so he thought), his hunger was an issue that they had to resolve quickly - keeping him fed would put a large dent in their budget.
He had played passive so far, going as far as remaining quiet and following everything that they had said. The Master was not completely unreasonable - all he wanted was a bit of entertainment. Being stuck on Earth was dull, humans were dull and uninteresting and he had not seen The Doctor or the smell of his presence as of late.
They fastened several items that were preventative measures for him escaping; three secured him whilst the other three stood watch.
"What? No dog collar and straitjacket? You boys disappoint me." He mockingly pouted.
Another soldier watched from a farther distance - he could see the 'gift' that he had left the poor boy - a scar around the front of his neck, The Master winked as the blindfold was placed over his eyes. He was then guided down and along the corridors. It was only a couple of minutes later before he was left in an interrogation room, completely alone and still blindfolded. The soldiers remained on the other side of the one-way mirror, staring in mild apprehension of how easy it was to capture The Master.

Ace stood at the back of the room that the soldiers were in on the other side of the one-way mirror, she had advised against this, bringing The Master here.
But, Unit, Unit never did listen. Ace sighed to herself a little and slid her sunglasses out of the pocket of her jacket and onto her face. She watched as stats and the like scrolled across the sides of the lenses.
Mostly Ace ignored them as she never took her eyes off of The Master even after all these years he still made the hair on the back of her neck stand on end. She’d never been able to figure out if it was because of the incident on the cheetah planet or something else.“This is going to end badly.” One of the soldiers gave her a questioning look, and she waved him off. He was a young one, too young for this line of work and Ace didn’t seem to think it suited him.
Pushing her way through the gaggle of soldiers that were in the room, Ace reached out and grabbed the file that they had on The Master. Walking out of the room with the file in hand, Ace headed to the interrogation room door. “I’m sorry miss I’m afraid I have orders. No one can go….” Ace looked up at the officer standing in front of her that was blocking her way and just said one simple word. “Move.”

"I am NOT A PROBLEM! I’m a…tactical consideration!"
The Master wore a face of smug satisfaction as he sat, leaning ever so slightly back in his seat - making himself comfortable. He was rather pleased about his new temporary home, where the apes were too scared to touch him for longer than they had to. Some had been brave enough to try - but, he quickly saw an end to that.
Something was going to happen, he wanted something to happen.
There was so much fun he could do, running rampant around UNIT, messing with everything that they owned - but where would he go then? There was no escaping Earth, at least not until he could find something to tinker with. The Doctor would eventually return to Earth, maybe he could steal the TARDIS again - leaving him stranded on Earth.
But, the Doctor would find a way to find him and ruin his plans.
"Anyone coming for me? I'm feeling oh so lonely." He mused to himself, hoping that he was looking straight at the mirror.

Ace pointed at the door to the interrogation room “That man in there; I’m willing to bet the rest of my regenerations he has already thought of a hundred different ways out of here.” She didn’t want to pull rank on this guy.
”I’m sorry miss, but I have my orders.” reaching up Ace pulled her sunglasses down and glared at the soldier, move quickly he stood at attention “Ma’am.” and promptly moved out of the way. Sliding the glasses back up Ace smirked a little at herself
Turning the knob on the door Ace opened the door and stepped inside. The feeling that she had had the second she laid eyes on The Master seemed to have been dampened by being in a separate room. However, in the actual presence of The Master, there was no buffer.
"Anyone coming for me? I'm feeling oh so lonely." walking over to him Ace reached up and gently took off the blindfold that the UNIT soldiers had placed over his eyes. “Terribly sorry about that.” Dropping the blindfold on the table Ace pulled out the seat on the opposite side of the table.

The blindfold had been taken off, and he hungrily took in his surroundings - for the moment ignoring the woman's presence, looking over her shoulder. Perhaps it had been an oversight, as a familiar tug at his brain pulled him into focus. The feeling one would get if in the presence of a fellow Timelord or Timelady. His eyes darted down to stare the woman in the eyes, a menacing grin settling on his features. He had gotten rid of the Timelords - sent them all back to be time-locked at the end of the Time War.
No matter.
The Master would gladly make them suffer for what they had done to him - for implanting the drums for all his life. "A timelady," He said, the grin slowly disappearing as newfound questions wormed their way into his head and past the drums. Eyes widened in faux interest, voice betraying his actual feelings towards them, "How fascinating. So, what are you doing here? Doing Rassilon's dirty work?"
He sneered.
One. Two. Three. Four.
His head pounded with the drums, they had not ceased from his last interaction with the Lord President. Neither had the hunger, but his life force had not been draining anymore - for that was the only upside to his situation.

Well, nice to see The Masters stubbornness still prevailed, after all these years. Ace thought to herself as she watched him look over her shoulder. Giving him time to catch up to what she was, Ace leaned forward some and clasped her hands together on the table, so she was leaning on her elbows.
Although, when The Master glared at her, not that she feared him she just knew what he could do, she sat a little straighter, ever ready to reach for the blaster attached to her at the hip.
"A timelady," Ace couldn't help but bow her head slightly making sure, however, to never take her eyes off him. "How fascinating. So, what are you doing here? Doing Rassilon's dirty work?"[/b]
Ace's top lip twitched showing a little bit of teeth as she let out a low little laugh that probably showed a little bit more distaste that she normally would have allowed "No, not as such, I've never had the displeasure of meeting the." She held up her hands for a second making air quotations "Lord President." She had put her vote in for Romana over Rassilon in that race and was still a little jaded in that.
"No, quiet that opposite in fact. I'm the one who's helping UNIT keep you alive. As much as I advised against it."

"No, quite that opposite in fact. I'm the one who's helping UNIT keep you alive. As much as I advised against it."
The Master narrowed his eyes, but the grin on his face told a different story. It seemed they fell on the same side when it came to the Lord President. Now, the question was, this woman knew him - but there had been a sense that they had met prior to this. He also wondered the endgame with this Timelady, for his past experiences had not been the best when it came down to women.
"So, what now?" He raised his brows with the question. "You going to interrogate me? No, no...before that, why don't you tell me a little about yourself, seeing as you already know who I am." The Master leaned back, as much as the chains allowed with a small frown crossing his features as he couldn't cross his arms. He stared at the woman in front of him, brain working away to figure out who she was and why she decided to keep him alive, of all things.
Not that he was complaining. At all.
"How about taking these chains off me?" He asked, wearing a serious expression.

"So, what now? Ace shrugged a little "Just wanted to talk." reaching up she took off her sunglasses and used one of the arms to poke the side of the table lightly, drawing small circles on it with it.
When he asked if she was there to interrogate him, Ace shook her head and started to answer but stopped when changed his mind and asked her to tell him a little about herself. Ace met his gaze and held it a brief image of an explosion crossing her mind. "Who I am, is unimportant."
Ace stood back up and came to stand in front of The Master some, leaning back against the table "How about taking these chains off me?" Ace smirked a little raising an eyebrow and letting the thought be entertained for a second before deciding against it.
Reaching up, she scratched the side of the bridge of her nose "Could do, if I could trust you."

All this time, yet no answers. If he was a free man, he would be scratching at his beard in thought - his considerable amount of charm had not worked on this one. Guess it came with knowing who he was. He did not like being one-upped by this timelady (whomever she might be) but his mind had other ideas, a fleeting smirk crossed his face.
"What is there to talk about?" The Master replied. "Don't like the colour of my handcuffs? Or are you planning on getting me out of here?"
He had never pegged himself for a man who needed to question motive - for he himself never had. The Master pretended to look hurt by the woman's last statement, "And I've been such a good boy too. Shame. Why don't you give me a clue to who you are then."

What was there to talk about, well a lot of things. How the Master got off Gallifrey, why he was on earth what was going on with his whole skeletor impersonation.
But Ace had a feeling that they were going to get no were while he was tied to the upright gurney that UNIT currently had him confined to.
To answer his question Ace moved behind him and started undoing the straps that had him bound, would she regret it? Probably.
“Some people call me Times Vigilante.” She stepped back around front making sure to keep The Master in her line of sight. “Call this, a gesture of faith, do not make me regret it.”

The Master watched carefully as the woman maneuvered herself around the gurney he had been strapped to, his eyes finally flickering up front to the one-way mirror, giving those inside a wink. He would leave the humans to mull around, figuring out whether he truly would try something once the straps were untied.
The soldiers on the other side looked to their commanding officer, or at least, the oldest one in the room as they mentally urged their superior to stop her from doing it but no words came - he continued to look at the Master, judging him. They only had to watch for if his whole body lit up, revealing his skeleton - then they would act. For the mean time, they would sit back and watch.
He grinned, feeling the straps loosening around his wrists as they finally came undone. That was when she had began introducing herself as the 'Time's Vigilante.' Again, the words resounded in his head as he tried to hark back to his younger years but no name came to the face, "I don't think I recall." He waved a dismissive hand. He could always find out later. The Master moved himself to the back corner of the room, leaning against it, crossing his legs and folding his arms across his chest. He didn't have to try very hard to skim the surface thoughts, "You have questions, so, out with it."

"You have questions, so, out with it." Ace moved to the other side of the room trying to keep the distance between her and The Master as professional as possible without being rude, she didn't know how much time she would get from UNIT to be in there. So, she had to make as much use of her time as she could.
"Is Gallifrey still alive?" She could almost sense the discomfort she had caused the army guys behind the one-way glass, but Ace didn't care she wanted to see if her second home planet still in some way or another existed.

"Is Gallifrey still alive?"
The Master's features darkened, his eyes locking onto the woman's. "Sent back to the Time War." He did not know what had happened after that, personally, he did not care. There had been one thing that had scared him to the core - and that had been the war he had been resurrected for. Yes, though he may have genius intellect and enjoyed planning (by his own standards), the Time War had been one in which he had run from. "Don't know. Sent Rassilon back into the Time War, and that was that."

Ace held The Master's gaze while he told her about sending Gallifrey back to the Time War, she had fought some in the Time War but hadn’t been there when it had been time locked by The Doctor.
So that answered that it was there but wasn’t in the long run. “What ‘bout the whole skeletor impersonation?” Ace allowed her mental defensives down enough so The Master could glimpse a little of what she saw working for Celestial Intervention Agency while never breaking eye contact.

He had not proved her mind until now, for he saw what she had seen - cocking his eyebrow slightly upwards at the fact that she knew, but that could have easily been read off in the file.
That was fun. Took over the entire pathetic human race for Christmas. But skeletor? He's gone. Body healed - don't care much for the details.
The Master gave a sly smile, before slowly running his tongue over his lips. "But the hunger, that's another matter. Seems I couldn't have the freedom from both." In no way did he make a move forward towards Ace - much preferring the shadow of his corner.
What's your end game? Keeping me alive surely can't just be your goal here. So, please, why don't you just tell me. I don't like asking twice.
