RIVER SONG
CANON
200+ | FEMALE | TIME LORD/LADY | TARDIS/EARTH | ARCHEOLOGIST
APPEARANCE
CURRENT
River is a decently tall woman with an archeologists fashion sense. Think Tomb Raider mixed with Indiana Jones and you pretty much got River down. She's got gentle features with some amazingly striking curly reddish hair, but softer grey eyes that fade to a sort of golden brown at the iris. She has been known to dress up for formal occasions though too.
PERSONALITY
- Confident
River is confident in herself and her abilities. When she comes into a room she commands presence and attention and she knows how to use it to her advantage. In some cases she's so confident that from time to time it also can be her downfall and seen sometimes as stubbornness and sometimes over ego. However, its kept her alive all these years. - Compassionate
As much as she resonates chaotic psychopath, she actually has learned to have a very compassionate nature, through The Doctor no less. It's taught her to try and do the right thing when it comes to preserving archeological artifacts. However, from time to time she does slip up and use a find for funds to get by, but because of time travel she always seems to find her way around back to those items and get them later. Yet deep down she cares about The Doctor, her parents, and the companions that have travelled with her husband. - Driven
Driven often includes determination and stubbornness. She will find an ends to a means. She tends to get what she puts her mind to done. And if not, she will find ways around to get to goal. It often makes her seem pushy and controlling, but in all honesty all she wants is to just see the best result outcome. - Creative
It takes talent to not only be an archeologist and to get around sticky situations, but it also takes creative talent to find a way to kill The Doctor...or not. Depends on ones point of view really. Either way she can come up with creative ideas and use them to her advantage. - Improviser
River is great at improvising on the spot. Partially she learned that from her time training to kill her husband, and also from how The Doctor improvised. She'd often watch him well, even when he didn't know she was. She literally could probably pull a rabbit out of a hat proverbially and make it work. - Romantic
Deep down inside River is a hopeless romantic. She loves her husband...and well later wife if given the chance ot know her, but she's always believed that The Doctor never quite requited that love in returned and always wondered if their marriage was more out of necessity or if it was a real deal. Mostly she wondered this by how The Doctor was so distant from her in a lot of cases, and perhaps that was because they didn't travel together all the time. However, no matter how much The Doctor did or didn't show love and affection to her, she would always love him til the end of her time. She'd even contemplated children once or twice but hasn't had the gull to tell him.
HISTORY
It's safe to say River Song, born Melody Pond, was meant to be a child of the TARDIS through Rory Williams and Amy Pond conceiving her onboard. However, things did not turn out and she was taken away far to soon to be trained as an assassin to kill The Doctor. So growing up all she knew was the studies she was given and the fighting training she was made to endure.
Yet because time is not quite so linear. Her family ran into her when she was stuck in a space suit as a child with the silence watching over her. After that fiasco, River had found a way to get away and ended up regenerating into becoming Mel and grew up right along side her parents. It wasn't until they were older that Mel took the opportunity to force her husband on a joy ride to kill hitler.
it was while they were back there that River ended up making her second and supposedly last regeneration. This was when she turned into her current face. Of course she still tried to kill The Doctor, but found herself having a change of heart and saving him instead. From there, things only just got crazier. The adventures got more intense. She'd gone to university, in hopes to eventually find The Doctor again. But she had to re meet him not in the way she wanted. She had to try and kill him again though she didn't want to. The first time round she defied the fixed time, causing a time rupture, but by the second try, she saw that her then newly married husband was safe in a Teselecta.
After that there were many, many, many adventures in between she took with not only her husband of current, but also his other faces. However, the ones that didn't know her were always memory wiped to forget her just for timeline security. But eventually their adventures led to the Pandorica to which she had made bluntly obvious to him was something they needed to face and deal with. Together they fixed the collapsing universe, but she almost died in a time loop the TARDIS created before space time was reset by her husband.
They then dealt with the Eternity Clock and stopped the Cybermen, Daleks, Silents, and Silurian's from damaging the fabric of space time irreparably. She sometime later helped Missy and herself escape Bekdel Institute. She learned it had been a rouge to find out if The Doctor was still alive. She later helped The Doctor and Amy deal with the weeping angels on the Byzantium, later adding some of the species into her journal. After some more casual adventures, River eventually was finally pardoned for her sentence. After that she ventured away from traveling with her current husband for some time and instead did some more of her own adventures, some with other Doctors again she had to make forget.
Eventually though she found herself traveling to the 1930's to deal with weeping angels yet again. It was there that her husband and parents would find that it had been a trap to make it impossible for her parents to ever stay with The Doctor ever again by causing the era to become too unstable with paradox's. In the end she had to watch her husband weep as her parents were swept away back in time after having thought they could be rescued. Afterwards she spent a little time with him to make sure he'd be okay. Granted she'd miss her mother and father, but she knew they were happy and eventually would know she'd have a sibling on top of that too.
It is undetermined how many adventures she had after that, but it's certain she had some before she ran into her husband as he was as cross brows. Darillium was supposed to be the last place they'd full on see each other in an form of happy moment, but that was 24 years worth of time to share. After that she did a few more adventures before she ran into The Doctor for the last time at the Library where she helped save thousands of folks only for her to die and be uploaded into the CAL system to live on as an echo. Which later she used to help The Doctor and Clara on Trensalore.
Though its safe to say who's to say that she ever stay dead forever right?....perhaps somehow she could one day return. But for now she'll live on through her adventures of that life in between...
OTHER INFO
I'm just going to say, she admits she's downright crazy, but to no fault of her own making though. It's unknown what sort of other things she may have good or bad as a time lady at this point.
RP SAMPLE
River looked out the window of the starliner as it past the Triferius Nebula, wondering to her self about her dear husband. Wondering what sort of adventures he was going on right then. And it wasn't just her current husbands face she was wondering on, it was all of them. Her husband was her husband and it didn't matter one iota what face it was. Sure she was swayed keen to the current, but that was only a small part of what they were. She loved him, no matter how reciprocated it was. She'd always love him, even now.
She put a hand to the window, the clearness solid against her palm. "Oh how I wish you could be here to see this."
She closed her eyes a moment, head bowed in thoght, trying to imagine her husband being there right beside her. When she looked back out the window again it was almost like she could see him there in what could have been a reflection of the glass. She thought she could almost see his swooshy haired face break into a soft smile as he seemed to stare back at her, but then the image faded. It almost made her feel a twinge of emotion, but she held it back and gave a small gulp. "I miss you..."
