The "So you've been accepted" thread says to list a bit of information about my character...but I do honestly hope anyone reading this already knows who the Master is, or has at least heard of him.
For those who haven't...Well I dare say you've missed out on some of the Doctor's greatest adventures against a Rival Renegade Time Lord who is in almost every aspect the Doctor's equal and oldest friend. (And in some certain skills, better than the Doctor.) Every great hero has a great adversary who matches him in strength and capabilities. During the years of John Pertwee, the Third Doctor (1970-1974), the writers had already made Brigadier Leftbridge Stewart (father of Kate Stewart to those of you new who fans, and the very man in charge of U.N.I.T.) as a sort of "Dr. Watson" to the Doctor's "Sherlock." So the writers, of course, decided to give the Doctor his own "Moriarty." And that is how the Master came to be. A brilliant villain who was always behind every plot of every story/episode of his first season on the show.
And ever since Roger Delgado's brilliant performance on the Master's debut "Terror of the Autons", the Master has become one of the Doctor's most dangerous and most reoccurring enemies of all (right up there with the Daleks and the Cybermen), even being at least somewhat responsible (directly or indirectly) for at least 3 of the Doctor's Deaths/Regenerations.
And of course, what better place to cause chaos and destruction and scheme against the Doctor than in Great Britain?
Or another great moment in human history?
Or on another planet with another alien species?
No matter where in the Universe the Doctor goes, what period of Time the Doctor decides to travel, no where in Time and Space is he or anyone else safe from the ever looming threat of the Master.
I wouldn't mind doing a thread with the Master in either of his re-generations and Mica. Mica's mother use to tell her stories about the Doctor and his rival the Master which was always Mica's favorite Antagonist. I wouldn't mind if they joined up to reek a bit of havoc
sorry. Mica's mom is still in Adoption but I can summarize her scenario. Mica's mother is a Timelady named Mirajhane who was born on Galiffrey and attended the academy. She would later leave Galiffrey and go to earth for reasons unknown whether she's a rebel or just an adventurous woman is still undecided. She actually hears about the Doctor at first when he steals the Tardis and leaves Galiffrey. Thats all Ive gotten for her mom so far
Mica Foster was born Mica Harllow in 2055 to Mirajhane and a British Marine named Malcolm Harllow. She is half Timelady and half Human. Her mother would travel around in her Tardis often leaving Mica with her father who was often on duty. As a child Mica was teased about having two hearts which made her become a bit psychotic as a child often harming others and causing a great deal of mayhem resulting in her parents putting her in different schools. When Mica was 10 her father was killed in a cyber war by a Cyberman and she was shot as well which caused her second regeneration. When she is 17 in her Second regeneration she marries a boy name Dean Foster giving her the Last name Foster. They had a child named Alyssia but it was short lived happiness when she loses her daughter during a battle with the Daleks and her husband as well. She manages to infuse her husbands soul with the her Tardis resulting her calling it Dean. she ends her Second regeneration by going bungee jumping with an extra long cord. Her third regeneration was one of well...flirtation and chaos that ended from an allergic reaction to coconuts and bring Mica in to her fourth regeneration. An adventurous mischief maker who can either be vigilantist or Hell raiser. She has a Backpack that can carry anything and a vast knowledge of weapons and combat tactics. shes easy going at times but more than often is a Hothead with a hotter temper which often causes her trouble. Thats basically Mica's Character summed up. Shes actually not as psychotic as she was as a child she mellowed it out as she got older.
Well Pre-Death Owen is always looking to cause trouble. So I'm in, as long as this at least starts out on Earth of course. Hehe I'm willing to put this before TYNW time or even during it if that suits your fancy.
Let's see here...I'm thinking our best and most accommodating setting for our characters would be Cardiff, 2008. Most likely after the whole incident involving "The Year that Never Was." Whether it be before or after Jack returns to Torchwood, I'll let Owen's RPer decide.
What might the Master want in Cardiff? Well at best I think he may want to use the Rift to his advantage. Be it using the rift to power a doomsday device, or simply using one of the many alien monsters produced from the Rift. And considering time lords, especially the Master and all his accomplishments in cosmic sciences, mathematics, and temporal engineering, you know as well as I do he could very easily take control of the rift far better than Torchwood 3 ever could.
Truth be told, I always thought the Master had some knowledge about Torchwood in the many visits he's made to Earth. And in the event that he's messed with Torchwood in the Past, he'd of course make sure their memories of him were wiped...Assuming he ever messed with Torchwood in the Past. Not Owen's group, I was referring to Torchwood in general. Like in the 1800's and such.
D.G., you are more than free enough to include what character you will.
I will say this though in determining WHICH Master will be involved in this plot:
In the Event JohnSimm/HaroldSaxon Master is in this plot, those involved in this event may need something to erase their memories of the incident when it ends. Tenth Doctor was unprepared for the Master's revival in the End of Time, and that doesn't happen till Christmas of 2009. No loose ends, as the saying goes.
If I use a Past Master for this plot however, there may not be any need for Memory erasing. Though I would like for Past Master to avoid most of the spoilers of his future, if at all possible. As far as the Public was concerned, NO ONE knew that Harold Saxon was an alien, or "the Master."
Seeing the "vote saxon" posters and hearing a mild reference about "Prime Minister Harold Saxon disappearing after killing President Winters"? That's fine, the Master won't be making any connections of those events with his future.
Which Past Master I choose...well I suppose that might all depend on who I feel like using and see what other plot element ideas yall think of might work and what character D.G. picks to use.
Hmmm to avoid conflict and assuming to know what Jack would have told the team about the Master upon return I shall play Owen before Jack's return. As for the memory alteration/wipe Torchwood always ties loose ends with the use of RETCON, it is plausible course to use should you choose to play John Simm/Harold Saxon Master.
I also forgot the possibility of using SaxonMaster during his time as Minister of Defense in Christmas of 07 and throughout the rest of 08...
Actually Saxon was involved with Torchwood even BEFORE Christmas of 07 if you recall that Series 2 episode involving that alien that absorbed those humans who were spying on the Doctor, main character of that story being one of those humans and who got somewhat close with Jackie Tyler...cause the Alien admitted the files he presented to the humans were from Torchwood thanks to Minister Harold Saxon...
So that option is also open for debate in terms of setting.
Let's get to the root of it, and forget all that nonsense up there! The Thief went through a period of her life, where she honestly hated most of the universe. This was also her most volatile and "evil" regeneration. What better place for the Master to stop in~?
Hmm, this could be interesting! I'm not entirely sure what we could do with them, but I'm positive there's something in it..Anyway, just opening the lines of communication!
