“Not as long as I would like former prime minister Saxon.”
He had shot a wink in Ace's direction at her quizzical look before attending to the leader of UNIT stood before him, folding his arms in front of his chest in a dramatic movement. "Seems like the glory days aren't too far behind me. What's wrong? Something with the Valiant? Need a good reference? The Master, keeping Kate in his sights, moved himself over to the gurney to lean against it as he gestured for Kate to take a seat.
"I have to admit, flying under the radar was sure boring. Glad you managed to catch me at a good time."And mood. The Master continued to chat idly, as a smile grew across his face. "How's UNIT doing? Shame they don't want to introduce themselves to me, I was getting a bit lonely until you sent in lovely Ms. McShane in." Despite his raggedy appearance, The Master had easily slipped back into the charming man that Harold Saxon had used to be as Prime Minister of Great Britain.

Kate let out a small exasperated sigh watching The Master "I wouldn't call them glory days." granted she would admit he hadn't been the worst Prime Minister they had had. She leaned against the table and shook her a head a little when he gestured for her to sit down. "No thank you." she said politely trying to keep the conversation as civil as possible, didn't want to give Ace an excuse to shoot The Master, as satisfying as that would be.
"I have to admit, flying under the radar was sure boring. Glad you managed to catch me at a good time."
"Yes, for you that must have been terribly boring."
"How's UNIT doing? Shame they don't want to introduce themselves to me, I was getting a bit lonely until you sent in lovely Ms. McShane in."
Kate glanced over at Ace standing against the door making sure no one else could get in "Sadly, getting one of our UNIT soldiers to come within twenty feet of you seems to be presenting a bit of an issue. Ms. McShane however, doesn't seem to have that problem."
Ace shrugged "Previous experiences."
"I am NOT A PROBLEM! I’m a…tactical consideration!"

"Sadly, getting one of our UNIT soldiers to come within twenty feet of you seems to be presenting a bit of an issue. Ms. McShane however, doesn't seem to have that problem."
The Master grinned, pointing an index finger at himself, seemingly rather pleased by such statement. Though, he wondered on why Kate was here in the first place - having only chosen this specific moment to show her face. Then for Ace to add to the fact that they had known one another before, his eyes almost glistened with some sort of gleeful look, "So, then, Kate. What can the merry Master do for you? You clearly came here in search for something and I want something." And there it was, laid out on the table - though his voice held no malicious intent, both would know that there was something cooking up in his head of his.
"You should tell them I mean no harm - I don't bite." There was an edge of sarcasm in his tone, as they all well knew by now that he was clearly still phasing out the whole 'eating' phase. The drums continued to pound in his head, prompting him to shake his head once to clear them momentarily, the second mistake that the Timelords had done to him - the fact that they had managed to cure him of his affliction before shoving him through and back onto Earth, which had only caused him to fall into relapse.

"So, then, Kate. What can the merry Master do for you? You clearly came here in search for something and I want something." Kate crossed her arms over her chest and watched The Master, he was right she was in search of something and had figured she would have to give something in return.
"I have been authorized to ask you about being a scientific adviser to UNIT, and in return within reason we will supply you with the necessary supplies to keep your hunger at bay."
Kate caught the small movement from Ace out of the corner of her eye but held up her hand to stop the young woman from speaking, Ace frowned a little, she had no doubt that Kate could handle The Master, but it was a deal with The Devil she did not want to witness. "You should tell them I mean no harm - I don't bite."she couldn't help it, Ace looked down trying to hide an amused smile at that.
Ace thought she saw The Master shake his head and tilted hers returning her attention to him.
"I am NOT A PROBLEM! I’m a…tactical consideration!"
"I have been authorized to ask you about being a scientific adviser to UNIT, and in return within reason we will supply you with the necessary supplies to keep your hunger at bay."
His brow had perked, a sly grin spreading across his face as he mulled over the benefits and the cons to accepting such an offer. "Scientific advisor to UNIT has a nice ring to it. Accepting this on what terms?" The Master needed to know whether was any catches to such an offer - and who was behind the authorisation of this (not that he was complaining.) "Must be my lucky day. UNIT asking for help from the Master, counting yourself lucky, are we Kate?"
The Master smirked, taking a couple of steps closer to Kate.

"The terms being you are confined to this facility with Ms. McShane here as a form, of escort." Ace shifted uneasily at the thought of being The Master body guard. She wanted him out of there, not working for them, the further away from humanity he got the better off they all would be.
"Must be my lucky day. UNIT asking for help from the Master, counting yourself lucky, are we Kate?" Kate didn't move but Ace did, it was a small gesture but a very clear one of taking steps closer would be ill advised.

"The terms being you are confined to this facility with Ms. McShane here as a form, of escort."
The Master chuckled, stopping in mid-step as Ace gestured that anything closer would end in something less fun than being granted access to UNIT as a scientific advisor as he tucked a hand in his pocket, as he stood facing off with Kate, his brows raising, "Oh good, I have a baby-sitter."
He smirked in Ace's direction.
"What do I get to do as scientific advisor to UNIT?" The Master wanted to know the extent to how much leash he was allowed - to speak. His day was only going to get more interesting.

"Oh good, I have a baby-sitter." Ace returned The Master's smirk, she was just as unhappy with being volunteered as The Masters appointed 'baby sitter.'
Kate shrugged a little when The Master asked what he would get as a scientific advisor to UNIT "What would you like, within limits that is."
(sorry about such a short reply after such a long time of waiting.)

The Master could not help but raise his brow at the comment and offer made by Kate. He smiled, looking down at his rather...scruffy attire - they had said within reason and he already had a couple of things in mind, "A new change of clothing. My own lab and the resources to go with it." Besides, he could not very well work with others, much preferring to have his own space to create and think if he were to be the scientific advisor to UNIT. "Sounds reasonable enough."

Kate nodded when he gave her his list "Very reasonable, I'll put in the request." pushing off form the desk Kate went to leave "I'll take my leave of you two then." heading for the door she stopped next to Ace and said "Do me a favor as much as I know your twos history, try not to blast him to pieces. Yeah?"
Ace eyed Kate for a second before responding "I can try but I can't make any promises." Nodding as if that was enough, Kate opened the door to the room and left.
"Well...that was unexpected."
