Original CharacterJackson Appleyard is an original character. He is played by ginger Benedict Cumberbatch.Details
Name: Jackson Appleyard
Age: Twenty-Eight
Gender: Male
Species: Human, SpriteAs a sprite, Jackson has the ability to sense the heightened emotions of those around him and influence natural factors in his surroundings. Due to his human bloodlines, a lot of his sprite powers have been muffled, but he still possesses his mother's sprite-like appearance.AppearanceJackson has small, sharp eyes that aren't quite blue, yet aren't quite gray. His has a pointed nose that sits a bit too far away from his lips; his top dipping dramatically into an extraordinary cupid's bow and making the distance even more exaggerated. His face itself seems to merge into his neckline, crumpling into a large amount of chins - and sprinkling with a generous amount of wrinkles - when he laughs.
He changes his hair on occasion, though it is usually a mop of tousled ginger. It changes slightly depending on the light, ranging from golden-brown to vibrant red.
Having always been quite tall, Jackson stands over six feet and has a very slender form. He lacks any apparent muscle. He doesn't care about his body's appearance to work out. Instead he limits himself to walking his dog.
Clothing: Jackson isn't too fashion-orientated, though he does like to look his best for potential clients. When he's hanging around his flat, he will often be found in an old jumper and a pair of jeans. He doesn't wear shoes inside his home, to keep from tracking dirt across the carpets.
When he's out on the town or working, he will be found in dress shirts and jeans, with a jacket on if it's too cold.PersonalityThe sprite in his bloodline has made Jackson a very spiritual, forgiving person. Many would call him meek, while others might call him sensitive. He's not one for violence and, despite being a part-time actor, prefers music over television.
He's a very cultured individual, having been brought up on the classical music that his father loved so dearly, the films and books that his older sister entertained him with, and the history that his mother fed him as a child. It may be because of this upbringing that he often feels too old for his body. (Also, he named his dog after one of his favourite composers.)HistoryFor the first four years of his life, Jackson thought he was a girl. He finally realized that he wasn't when he could grasp the concept that people treated him differently to his sisters. Other than that, his childhood was fairly normal. He grew up with a passion for astronomy, animals, music, and literature.
Because he had previously thought he was female, and because of his overwhelming love for Tchaikovsky, his mother decided that it would be best for him to be home-schooled. Knowing nothing else, he agreed, and became further cultured under his parents watchful gaze. Not only did his passion for music and literature grow, but he also became determined to one day be on television. He had certainly spent enough time watching it, so why shouldn't he get his turn to be on there?
When he was seven, he found a small acting class near-by and asked to go. His mother cautiously agreed, as long as he promised to one day find another career to match it. (He eventually settled on journalism.)
Three days after his twentieth birthday, Jackson's father died in a car accident. It was this that prompted him to move out of the family home. He couldn't stand being around his mother when she was so sad, and his older sister promised to look after her. Jackson went and brought a flat on the busiest street he could find that day.
Now, at twenty-eight, he has three university degrees (pertaining to theater and journalism). He has had seven acting roles (six minor parts on dead-end shows, one of slightly larger success). He writes articles for a small, local newspaper; runs his own blog; writes for local magazines when they ask for pieces. He also babysits the sons of a Russian couple that live above him. On average, he makes about six-hundred-and-fifty pounds a week (mostly from his articles).Lifestyle
