Physical Description:
The true form of a Nothing is the equivalent of pure energy. If adequately fueled with enough pure raw energy, they can live in a completely non physical form. Their true form can differ from entity to entity depending on the form of energy they feed upon. In Sevaros' case, ('her' preferred prey being either a Regenerating Time Lord or a star that has gone Super Nova) 'Her' form glows deep shades of purple and blue. Weaker Nothings unable to hunt powerful energy glow a sickly green. A dying Nothing glows a pale yellow.
A Nothing is genderless, but when dealing with other sentient beings, they will mimic a humanoid shape of their choosing, depending on personality. In Sevaros' case, 'Her' personality is distinctly female, therefore, 'her' shape is feminine. But when deprived of energy, her shape becomes completely featureless and has a shiny black skin. The eyes become huge glowing orbs. This is when a Nothing is at it's most vulnerable and most desperate to draw on energy.
Personality:
'She' is ruthlessly cruel and delights in torturing victims to the point of absolute terror before slaying victims and draining them of life energy. This is a particular favorite method of sapping the life energy of a regenerating Time Lord, resulting in their permanent death. 'She' also has no qualms with destroying stars as they are equally powerful and “delicious”
'She' is also extremely manipulative and will weave elaborate well thought out lies to achieve a goal, even at the cost of her own kind. She will even cannibalize her own kind for energy / food. She sees it is “Less Competition”.
History:
Well over 10,000 years ago, in a star systems that only an extremely old race would remember, stars began to burn out and fade. A race of pan-dimensional creatures, called The Setravandi, began to fear that their sun was next. They gathered their brightest and best to engineer a creature that could navigate through the multiverse, collecting samples of power and energy as it went along. This creature's purpose was to store this energy like a battery and return home, releasing the energy to reignite the stars and save their world. They named the creature.... The Star Forge.
The first Star Forge that was successfully crafted was a kind and inquisitive creature, eager to please and hungry for knowledge. The called it Sevaros, named for their deity. The legend of their Deity was that in times of darkness and crisis, their Goddess would come from the heavens to light their path and save them. Sevaros was also their ancient word for Light Barer. (Like Lucifer) Several other Star Forge were created after Sevaros as they felt that the burden should not be placed on one creature. The spawned ten Star Forges, each named after a Deity from their faith.
As the heavens grew dimmer with each passing year, The Setravandi felt it was time to send the Star Forge out to do what they had been designed to do. The 10 set off together and began their journey to save their home and their creators. But something happened. Withing a few short years, The Star Forge found The Void and became lost and confused, unable to navigate through. This drove The Star Forge into a panic as the few creatures there were twisted and unkind, unwilling to aid them and guide them out. Some of these creatures began to hunt The Star Forge for sport when they discovered that unnatural sources of power, like Nuclear fusion powered weaponry, were lethal to them. Sevaros, desperate to protect the others and determined to save her masters, began hunting them in return, draining their pure power sources from their ships, and it was then, Sevaros discovered she could drain Life Force and use it as energy. She wiped out the entire race and at such a terrible price.
With every life force she claimed, a bit of each creature's personality remained, the more dominant and violent personality quirks shining through. It drove Sevaros insane and she began killing her own kind. Sevaros had murdered all but one other, only for the sake of keeping him as company. With the knowledge she had gained from the lives she stole, she learned how to leave the void but had forgotten her purpose. She and the others had been lost in the void for nearly 7,000 years. She couldn’t even remember what she was called other than the name she had been given. All she could remember was that she had a hunger for energy and power and would stop at nothing to claim it all.
She learned that stars just as they go Super Nova and the burst of energy from a dying Time Lord as it regenerates was the most exquisite source of power she had ever encountered and took to hunting and slaying Time Lords, both for amusement and to quench her hunger. As she ripped through star systems snuffing out suns, stars, and depleting energy sources from star ships, races who encountered her spread warnings and rumors of an evil being from the void who left nothing in it's wake. Thus... The Nothing was born.....
The Nothing have no sympathy of other sentient beings and live a life of “Kill or be killed”. If it comes down to self preservation in their weakest and must vulnerable forms, they will seek out a powerful sentient life form with psychic abilities (Like the Ood) and live off their psychic energies until a more powerful form of energy can be found and continue on like a steamroller consuming any and all energy in their wake until their strength is regained. Only the most powerful Nothing resort to feeding on stars that have gone Super Nova as weaker nothing can not consume the energy without being overwhelmed and being destroyed.
With Sevaros, due to her level of power before falling to Earth, 'she' would prey upon regenerating time lords and drain them of their life force. This became such an addicting source of power that Sevaros became a Time Lord hunter. She became so addicted to the level of energy, she found a way to travel within the time vortex, chasing after time lords, finding advanced civilizations and robbing them of their energy resources, altering time lines as 'she' went along causing massive disruptions in the continuum.
When 'she' came to realize that the time lords had gone extinct, she went into a panicked frenzy, consuming stars and raiding star ships of their energy cores trying to slake her overzealous appetite for energy. When stars and energy cores could no longer sustain her, she began to wither and fell into the gravitational pull of a nearby planet. Sevaros found Earth. But the atmosphere was so full of smog and polluted by unnatural energy, she sought out the only pure source she could find. A power refinery plant in New York. She caused the entire eastern seaboard to blackout.

Phaser / energy based weaponry has no effect. “Nothing” will simply absorb it.
Does not need to breathe.
Puppeteering; requires a willing host, usually deceived with promises of power.
Can also feed on psychic energy, resulting from minor memory loss to severe internal brain damage in the host if the entity so chooses. Will usually take a host when in a weakened state and feed on their psychic energy until a more stable source of energy can be found, abandoning the host and leaving them for dead.
Having no access to energy / food source will drain them of strength and trap them into a physical form, leaving them vulnerable to physical attack.
Artificial forms of energy( Ie. Nuclear power or waste recycling) is toxic to a Nothing
