Name: Magnus, The War Chief
Age: Somewhere between 800 and 950, depending on where he is. He was dead for a great number of these years.
Species: Gallifreyan (Resurrected Time Lord, First Regeneration)
Planet of Origin: Gallifrey
Occupation: Renegade Time Lord
Physical Description: In his first body, The War Chief was of average build with stylized facial hair. He wore a lavender jumpsuit and wore a large golden necklace with Gallifreyan writings on them. In his new life cycle, The War Chief stands at six foot one, lean, but strong.
Face Claim: Edward Brayshaw, CM Punk, Ryan Reynolds, Jensen Ackles
Personality: In his early days, Magnus was somewhat of a manipulator, he would appear to act subservient to one, while sabotaging his enemies from behind the curtain. He was serious at all times, and willing to do or say anything to keep him out of harm’s way. In his new life, The War Chief has become far more aggressive.
Since being resurrected to fight on the Time Lords’ behalf during the Time War, The War Chief had become incredibly aggressive, willing to strike first and ask later. Conversation with him is usually met with a majority of sarcasm or threats. No longer willing to step back and observe, The War Chief has sworn to be a force in the Universe.
The War Chief would be the first to claim, he's not psychopath. He doesn't kill for fun. He doesn't get a kick out of taking a life. No, he'd just as soon kick someone in the mouth, then taunt them.
His motto: "I'm better than you. Watch me prove it and then rub your face in the dirt."
History: The man who would become the Time Lord known as The War Chief didn’t always go by that name. In his younger years, he was called Magnus. He was a member of The Deca, a group of talented students, all vying to become Time Lords of the highest caliber. Though they may have been a tight knit group as children, each had very different ideas about what they planned to do in the future, all based on their peering into the Untempered Schism.
Magnus was one who ran from Gallifrey, as soon as he could. Not because he was afraid, but because it showed him what he should become, not an observer. Instead, he wished to become a warrior. The first chance he could, 400 year old Magnus stole a TARDIS from a highly regarded Time Lord, and took off to find his place in the Universe.
He thought his place was amongst the Warlords, a race bent on ruling the Universe. Fitting in and adopting the name War Chief, Magnus made no mention of his Time Lord origins. Instead, he adapted to the Warlord life and began helping them in their plans to rule the Universe.
In the final scheme before his death, The War Chief helped his new people gather armies from different times on Earth. In their minds, humans were the most vicious of all living creatures. Leaving these armies in an everlasting warzone, they intended to weed out the weak groups and train the remaining humans to become the greatest military force to ever exist.
That’s when The War Chief’s past came to haunt him. The Doctor had stumbled into his warzone and began to muck the entire place up. The War Chief eventually pleaded with his old peer, trying to get him to see that the two of them could betray the Warlords, and rule the Universe, shape all life as they saw fit.
The Doctor would not have it. Their battle of mind ended when the second Doctor was backed into a corner, and he summoned the Time Lords to deal with the problem. The War Chief was brought to trial by three high ranking Time Lords, and put to death for his crimes. When he went on to learn that The Doctor had received a forced regeneration and short exile for his crimes, The War Chief grew a bit of resentment.
The War Chief stayed dead for hundreds of years, until the Time War. Near the end, long after Romana had been removed from office and Rassilon had risen back to the seat of power, the Time Lords began to resurrect fallen members of their race, believing some of the executed criminals to be the most capable soldiers. Among those resurrected was The War Chief.
Given a new TARDIS and orders, The War Chief was sent on a mission, one that he would never initiate. Instead, The War Chief ran again. He hadn't made it very far before being caught and forced to serve his purpose. His TARDIS had become restricted, until the day the Time War was locked, no one could go in, no one could ever leave.
Or so he thought. In his TARDIS, The War Chief was contacted by someone who offered him escape. The price was servitude for an extended period of time. After hesitation, The War Chief decided for himself that it was worth it, and accepted the offer.
He hadn't realized how much he would come to hate his new commander.
