It was proving easier to get in than it was to get back out. And it had not been easy to get in. It had seemed like a good idea at the time. She had been certain something nefarious and Spacy was going on at Lloyds of London. It was a place that would take days to search through. She'd been trapped here for six of them. It was clear they suspected someone was loose in the building. She should have found a way out that first morning, but she had just managed to steal a key card for the lift. It was tthe upper offices she needed to investigate. Once they realized someone was loose in the building, however it had gone on strict lock down and she hadn't been able to access the lift or the stairs.
It was like being homeless, sleeping on the floor, sneaking food and water. hiding in smelly old closets. She was a vagabond in a business suit.
She had never been so torn between staying in a place, or putting all energy toward escaping it. Something was going on here. Someone was moving massive equipment. Someone that no one would mention by name was bankrolling the operation. What it really came down to was the smell of the place. A smell she knew. The smell of strange cold metal and creatures trapped in the dark. Inhuman creatures. Both the Cybermen and the Daleks smelled like that. There was only a hint of it in the air, and she doubted any other human besides Harry Sullivan would recognize it.
She had managed to get a sheaf of papers that had the locations where these large shipments were going to. They listed weight and date only. It was in this bold move of acquiring that had stirred the search like a kicked ant hill. It was with no small rue that she found her safety in the vents. They were too narrow really for anyone to bother to search, but Sarah Jane Smith was more narrow than most. With this new avenue of travel, she'd managed to locate what she knew she must find before leaving this place. Some sort of comunications equipment. She had to have it before she could leave.
If she died leaving, it might be too late before anyone else discovered the plot, and all could be lost. She had to get the word out. Whomever was in charge had managed to cut off every communications link to the outside world at night, but they didn't know Alien technology like she did. She found what she knew she would, an interstellar communications rack. It was the next night before she could get to it. She'd seen the Doctor turn one of these on before, and she found that switch, seeing in her head how head had to bend down and reach under the right corner to find it.
It lit up like hope in a box.
"This is Sarah Jane Smith. November 23rd. 1983. I'm in the Lloyds of London building. Doctor-" Her voice changed, breaking a little, though she'd held it together until that instant. "Doctor, if you can hear me, I need you . . . please. Earth is in trouble." Her voice dropped again, loosing her altruism. "It's Sarah Jane Smith, I'm in trouble. I"m trapped here. Doctor, if you can hear me. I have my TARDIS key. Find me. I-" She broke off as an alarm rang out. She'd clambered quite neatly back atop the communications bank and wiggled her way back into the ventilation shaft.
It was there that they gassed her, and she was unaware when they dragged her out. She woke in a cell. No view, no cot, barely any light. She felt like she'd been dragged backwards through a hedge. They'd taken her shoes, and the list.
"Oh, Doctor, I've done it now." She whispered in the dark. She found the TARDIS key however, left on it's simple ball chain around her throat. It was her one hope, and a slim one at that. Surely, with it, he could find her.

Mica sat back in her chair as Dean drifted on auto pilot through space. 'This is relaxing' she thought to herself as she closed her eyes. "No children, No boyfriend, Just some peace and quite in my..." her sentence was cut off by a loud beeping coming from Dean's Intersteller Communicator. Mica sighed in annoyance "What now" she growled as she plays the message. "This is Sarah Jane Smith. November 23rd. 1983. I'm in the Lloyds of London building. Doctor-" Mica listened to the woman's name and the name of the person she was sending it to "Sarah Jane Smith? Doctor?" she said in disbelief before going back to listening to the message."Doctor, if you can hear me, I need you . . . please. Earth is in trouble." Sarah 's voice sounded as if it was dropping. She listened further to the message "It's Sarah Jane Smith, I'm in trouble. I"m trapped here. Doctor, if you can here me. I have my TARDIS key. Find me. I-" The message cut off after that. She paced around Dean trying to wrap her head around the message.
"Sarah Jane Smith" she mumbled "THE Sarah Jane Smith...sent a message to the Doctor and it somehow got sent to me....."she says while pacing around faster before a smile crawls onto her face in excitement. She had heard tales of the Doctor by her mother and she knew a tiny bit that Sarah Jane Smith was a companion of his...but it was all she knew. And now she knew this...She was in a dangerous situation and needed help. "Dean take a rain check on the relaxation day" she says while typing the coordinates into his computer and pin pointing Sarah's location through the TARDIS key she carried, A little trick she learned from her mother, she pressed Dean's buttons and pulled a few of his leavers. "Lets Go!" she exclaimed as Dean took her to Sarah's location. Mica stepped out of Dean right outside of Sarah Jane's cell " Well ...hello there ..um your Sarah Jane Smith right?" Mica asked to the woman in the cell. Mica smiles a big smile excitement as she waits for the woman's response .

There was a low faint groan. The first wave barely got her attention. By the second wave, she was on her feet, hands outstreached in the dark. By the fourth wave, it was quite audible, and every hair on her body stood out at right angles to her skin like a chill running through her that left her warm instead of cold. Her breathing was the only sound for a moment, but then, inexplicably, she heard a car door open and shut. Her heart was pounding and she was confused, but she stood her ground. "Well ...hello there ..um your Sarah Jane Smith right?" Asked a woman's voice. She did not sound like a guard.
"Well . . ." she echoed, a little breathlessly through the door, her voice full of curiosity and apriension. She swallowed dryly. "I suppose thumb screws aren't required for name rank and serial number. Yes. I am." She continued more boldly, her thoughts a-tumble with confusion.
Mica smiled when she found that she had the right person "good" she says while looking around for a light swtich before giving up and pulling her sonic out of her pocket and turning the setting on it to flash light and looks around at the prison. She turned to look at Sarah when she asked who wanted to know who she is. "Oh so sorry forgot my manners I'm Mica Foster human/timelady hybrid and this is my TARDIS" she replies pointing to Deans red sports car like frame. "I got your message to the Doctor by mistake I think the Intersteller Com is on the frits again, but either way I didn't want to leave you in danger so here I am" she says pointing the flashlight in Sarah's general direction making sure not to put the light in her eyes. She noticed Sarah looked a bit disheveled and was missing her shoes. Mica's smile soon turned into a concerned frown "how did you get here and explain to me whats going on" she replies while going over and examining the bars.
She wondered if 'good' was going to mean good for her, or 'good' only in the eyes of her sudden visitor. And, apparently she'd brought a car with her. After an instant's confusion in surrealism, she realized this could quite possibly be a TARDIS. Mica Foster's words confirmed it, and enough more she felt some of the tension leaving her stomach. She could just see a tall woman with dark hair writing in cursive down the side of her face.
"How did you get here and explain to me whats going on" The woman asked, poking about with what could only be a sonic or something very like it.
Grasping at straws, she saw no purpose in keeping all her secrets now. "Through the front door." She said with a touch of rue. "Then through some broom closets and a ventilator shaft."
"Something is happening here . . Aliens . .I"m sure of it . .and I fear it's not the little fuzzy kind either."
"Mica, is that your TARDIS, can you get a message out? . . .I really should stay here . . .I have to see what they're keeping in the basement. Well, and get me back to a broom cupboard. Please."
It didn't seem like too much to ask of even a stranger, not one that had come looking for her. Stars, she was so thirsty.

Mica listened to Sarah's answer to her question long with Sarah's question to her. "So let me get this straight you came through a door...then a broom closet... then a ventilator shaft before landing in here and there is something going on that you think has to do with aliens." she replies while placing her sonic on the ground and reaching into her backpack to pull out a lock cracking kit. "that seems logical" she says while picking the lock on the cell while using the sonic as a flashlight. as easy as it would be to use the sonic on the bars she didn't want to attract unwanted attention to themselves. "and to answer your question yes my TARDIS can send a message but as for leaving you here alone I would like to accompany you to look into this situation." she says opening the cell door "Is there anything else you'd like Sarah Jane Smith" she asks with a smile
It was such a lovely sound when the tumbler turned and the door made a tiny creek as it came loose of the tension of it's thick bolt. The door was pulled open. She took a huge breath as she stepped out.
It really was a car. A TARDIS, but it looked exactly like a car. She studied it and the woman for an instant. She didn't quite know what she was looking for, but she didn't see anything she was hoping not to find. At the stranger's question, she decided a bold answer would tell her much in a short time.
Mica smiled with a slight chuckle while opening Deans door to let her inside and answered her question. "Like i said before my name is Mica H. Foster or just Mica, Im half timelady and half human. I have plenty of food and drink in the kitchen its to your right feel free to have whatever you like but the strawberry ice cream..that's mine and as for weapons..."she says the last part with a smirk and pulls out an array of guns ranging from a purse gun to an M80 assault riffle "take your pick Mrs.Smith" she says chuckling in her head at the movie reference she had made while she goes to get Sarah some water "oh and be warned Dean does not like to be fired at unless in the designated target practicing area of himself." she warns while pointing at the TARDIS after returning fron the kitchen with a glass of water for Sarah.
She knew it was a TARDIS, she just didn't expect it to really be one. Somehow, she was imagining it was a time traveling car. It was not. Mica let her in, she sat in the car seat, slid over a little and found herself in a full blow case of relative dimensions. She felt a bright flame of hope.
"It's going to be dangerous." She warned the woman who walked around like she owned the place, a panther grace to her. "I can't guarantee you'd be safe." Sarah Jane was already letting herself into the pantry. It took quite a bit of self control to locate a glass out of the drainer instead of just sticking her head under the faucet as she felt a strong urge to do so. She licked her lips as she ran the tap. Glass half full, she turned to lean against the sink and began to gulp the water down. Every time her throat worked, the water seemed to pour through her whole body in cool, shivery delights. She didn't stop until it was empty, some water spilling across her cheeks as she tilted her head way back to catch the last of it. She put the glass down with a thump and a gasp.
Mica watches Sarah ignore the guns and go towards the kitchen. She chugs the glass of water in her hand and follows her back to the kitchen trying not to sound like a smug bitch when she replies to Sarah's comment about her safety. "Sarah I'm not human remember....well I'm only half but you know what i mean...I dont give a damn about my safety but I DO care about yours trust me wen i say I've been though worse things...." she says with a small smile before looking through the cubers to find where she last put the liquor. She manages to find a bottle of vodka and places it in her backpack before looking at Sarah "I laid out some guns for you to choose from Mrs. Smith but do be careful if you take the M80 it has a bit of a kickback to it." she replies pointing out to the Main room of Dean.
"I laid out some guns for you to choose from Mrs. Smith but do be careful if you take the M80 it has a bit of a kickback to it."
She couldn't look at her for a moment. She didn't want Mica to see into her eyes. The table full of ordinance had sent a dirty little thrill through her. Her gaze hid behind a sloe of dark lashes, a complicated quirk of smile at the corner of her lips, quickly stilled to seriousness. Her eyes flickered over to Mica's only long enough to answer her.
"I saw."
The Doctor wouldn't like it, but he wasn't here. Resolute, she took Mica's invitation into the main room. She stopped in front of the table. No, not the M80. Stars, did Mica carry that beast? Some of what was on the table was familiar to her. Much was not, but whenever future Mica came from, Rugers still had their distinctive curves, a Remington still it's angles. She picked up a Walther P22. It was a small piece, one Mica probably used as a concealed weapon. It fit perfectly in her hand, as she knew it would. Her thumbs gently worked the safety sliders. It could be accessed from either side, an excellent secondary weapon for someone who could manage two guns at once. She scooped up it's magazine, and looked at the feed ears, that strange smile tugging at the corner of her lip. With that notch cut out, it would stagger the bullets as they came up, and keep the weapon from jamming. High impact rounds, which would also work smoothly in something with an unusually short barrel. She slipped in the magazine and slapped it home. With another flicker of her gaze at Mica, she made a particular show of being careful as she tried the pull of the external hammer for individual shots. It clicked satisfyingly into place, and then she let it down with equal care. She slid the safety on.
"I'm not shooting anyone." She said, though she sounded as if she was trying to convince herself as much as anyone else. How far would she go to stop an invasion of Earth? Her jaw worked a moment, and she put the pistol back down. She intended to take it, but she wasn't going to just stand around holding it.
"Mica, why do you want to help me? It's one thing to pick me up . . . .and drive away safe in your . .in . .in Dean. It's another to put your life on the line. Your half human, but not from this time . ..this isn't your fight." Her face was such a jumble of hope and fear turned on their ear by determination and confusion.
Mica watched Sarah Jane looks at the guns and watches her contain her excitement. "If your wondering how I carry most of those things they go in my backpack." she says pointing at the medium-sized,Military green, backpack that layed just a few feet from her foot. "It may look small but it is full of pocket dimensions which lets me carry well just about anything and everything" she adds while grabbing the backpack and pulling out a pear and eating it. she watched as she chose the Walther P22. "Excellent choice" she said with a smile.
"I'm not shooting anyone."
Mica looks at Sarah Jane Smith still with a smile. "Didn't think you where, to be quite honest I wouldn't loan you the guns if you were just going to go around shooting people, I prefer to use them as last resorts rather than first but it is nice to have something just in case the situation gets out of hand" she replied to Sarah Jane placing the bigger guns in her backpack. This was true though many people wouldn't believe it, but she did use them as last resorts or in stick situations. It was what her father had always told her to do, but even though she has his tacked she sadly got her mothers hot-temper which she desperately tries to contain.
"Mica, why do you want to help me? It's one thing to pick me up . . . .and drive away safe in your . .in . .in Dean. It's another to put your life on the line. Your half human, but not from this time . ..this isn't your fight."
Mica looked at Sarah Jane Smith with a slight frown. "The reason I want to help you is simply this you needed help and sent a message to me instead of the Doctor, And it would have been difficult for me to find which of his many regenerations you needed with out knowing you'd still be in one piece once he got there." She paused to catch her breath be fore continuing "I followed my instincts and came to help knowing it would be a risk of my own life but its better than the alternative which was leave an innocent person in a dangerous situation where more innocent people including yourself could get hurt." She smiled a tad as she continued " My mother is a Timelady who if she could and she had fought in many wars through time and space. My father was a British Marine who ,and this is years in the future by the way, would serve in a war in Afghanistan and come back unscathed...til he's killed by cybermen." She shudders at that memory and looked again at Sarah "Mrs. Smith even though I am born half human and will be born 72 years from now...That wont stop me from fighting..Last I checked the many countries have fought in wars that were not theirs to fight..and if I remember the tales the Doctor has passively fought in battles that where not his to fight either. So why should this be different for me." She replies calmly with a smile before jokingly adding "Is it because I'm a girl?" She listened to Dean hum and buzz a sly remark to that joke before turning and flicking his control panel "I never asked you circuit breath...and that was rude" she said shaking her hand because she just flicked a hard piece of metal.

Mica was calm fire, if such a thing could exist. The blaze was all in her eyes. Her voice had that low intensity of a soldier, for every decibel she dropped in volume, the more fierce her determination came across. Rather spellbound by she found herself sinking into the chair at the amunition's table. She was quite taken a-back by the way Mica handled the variety of ordinance with a very confident familiarity.
Sarah Jane had to be careful not to chuckle about being called innocent. She had to control herself more when Mica said something about the Doctor fighting 'passively'. What sort of rumors were going around about them both? Someone had been covering their tracks, hers and the Doctor's. When Mica asked if it was about her being a girl, however, Sarah Jane could not suppress the bark of surprised laughter that came out of her.
"No."
She waved Mica off for being too funny, Sarah Jane's laugh turning into a still giggling "Oh!" of empathy when Mica got in a bit of a tiff with her TARDIS and karma struck her. Sarah Jane briefly reached out a hand, instinctively wanting to get a look to see if the impact had left a mark on her. She didn't, letting her own hand fall again, not knowing why she'd felt so bold for an instant. Mica didn't seem the type to care for fuss. And maybe Sarah Jane had just been alone to long. Alone among hundreds of people, and who knew what sort of Aliens. She wiped half a laugh tear out of the corner of her eye with the back of her hand, grinning at Mica for a variety of reasons.
"No . ." she shook her head, still chuckling a little. "Not because you're a woman." She waved a hand again. "Man . .woman, it doesn't matter. You're a soldier. Even if you hadn't told me, I'd know just by how you move." Her face dropped into something more serious. "I questioned you because you're a Time Lord. Bar one, I've never found them very altruistic. Or they think it will be fun. Then it gets hard and they run out on me." She tried to hold back the pain that no doubt flashed in the back of her eyes. Once upon a time, she had thought all Time Lords were magic men with boxes. She'd learned differently the hard way.
Mica's words had been strong and convincing. And they sounded so very human. For all her ease with her TARDIS, Mica seemed very human to her. And her passing mention of the Doctor had not lead her to believe the two were enemies. Hope bloomed, real hope for the Human race.
"You can come . . .if you promise not to leave me until we win or lose."

Mica mumbles cusses at Dean before noticing Sarah chuckling. She cracks a small smile and lets out a laugh. "Forgive me to be honest we do this alot always have always will" she replies patting Deans console.
"No . ." "Not because you're a woman." She waved a hand again. "Man . .woman, it doesn't matter. You're a soldier. Even if you hadn't told me, I'd know just by how you move."
Mica blinked at the word "Soldier" before smiling a bit. 'Oh if only she knew' She thought while still smiling. Mica's past was rittled with battles, some that just happened when sh had arrived. "Like I said both parents have fought in battles so its no uncommon for me to be a soldier too" she replied with a small chuckle. before seeing Sarah's face change.
"I questioned you because you're a Time Lord. Bar one, I've never found them very altruistic. Or they think it will be fun. Then it gets hard and they run out on me."
Mica looked at the sadness on Sarah's face. She knew from what her mother had told her that her people were like the way Sarah described them. She lets out a small sigh "I understand the reason behind the question quite frankly Timelords being the way they were was the reason my mom left Gallifrey...at least thats what i was told by her..she always tends to lie to me" she replies with a frown before shaking her head to forget the memory before smiling again. "Rest assured I'm only half timelord...well time lady so I'm less likely to be that way...Mom always said I had my fathers tact and 'leave no man behind' attitude" she replied smiling brightly at the thought of her fathers traits that she carried.
"You can come . . .if you promise not to leave me until we win or loose."
Mica gave a stern look when the word "loose" was mentioned she hates to lose. To lose would mean that the enemy got what they wanted and she didn't like that. "I promis you Sarah Jane Smith I wont leave until we WIN ans trust me we will....losing is never in my vocabulary" she said the last part with a smile. It was true losing was definantly not part of her vocabulary.
It was not so much what Mica said, but how she said it. Her clear feelings were so easy to empathize with.
She loved her mother, even though it hurt her to do so. She was fiercely defensive of her father, and admired him. This fact Mica backed up by doing a fair impersonation of her father (so Sarah Jane would wager) giving his best pep talk. Sarah Jane was indeed won over by the true grit in her tone that was spun with hope and determination. Sarah Jane stood, stepped near, tilted her head back just a little to give Mica a level gaze, searching those eyes that were dark as space and just as laden with stars.
No. It wasn't hope she saw there. It was absolute certainty they would succeed. With everything Mica could fit in that space warp of a back pack of hers, they could always fall back on blowing the place to smithereens as a plan of last resort. Sarah Jane had a feeling that now that she had left the Doctor, she was going to have to widen the circle that encompassed what she considered 'acceptable behavior.' Whatever was happening here, she was in the unique position to put a stop to it before it got out of hand.
No, not 'she'. They. Mica and herself. She stuck out a hand, finally letting her own smile come through. Until now she'd been doing her best not to be drawn into the other woman's unexpected sunshine smile.
"It's a deal."
"Say . . .you don't happen to have a sonic screwdriver, do you?"
